Author's Note: This is my first Legend of Zelda fan fiction story. That foretells the hidden events and flashbacks. Before and after Majora's Mask.

The Hero of Time aka the Hero Shade. For example, how did the Hero of Time get his armor, how did he lose his eye, and who married the Hero of Time, since Twilight Princess Link is related to him?

Well, I'm here to answer these questions and theories through the use of storytelling; posted after Majora's Mask.

Please offer your feedback and opinions, it would be nice to hear them. Now sit back and enjoy the show.

The Legend of Shade

Chapter 1: Dawn of A New Day

A long time ago, a mask collector found the portal from Hyrule to Termina and entered it out of his own curiosity and fondness for unique masks.

However one faithful day, he was ambushed and knocked out by the Skull Kid and his two fairy friends, Tatl and Tael.

While the Happy Mask Salesman was unconscious, the Skull Kid stole Majora's Mask from his bag and became possessed by its evil powers.

The Happy Mask salesman went to great lengths to obtain Majoras Mask, as for its true nature. He explains that if the Mask is not taken back from the Skull Kid, something horrible will happen…

Majora's Mask is an accrued item from legends. It is said that it was once used by an ancient tribe in its hexing rituals.

It is foretold that an evil and wicked power is bestowed upon the one who wears that mask.

According to legend, the troubles caused by Majora's Mask were so great the ancient ones, fearing such catastrophe, sealed the mask in shadow forever, preventing its misuse.

But now that tribe from the legend has vanished. No one really knows the true nature and founders of the mask.

Many scientists, teachers, and archaeologists from Clock Town have theorized that this Ancient Tribe. Who once used Majora's Mask; are possibly the Garo, a clan of shadow ninjas who were sworn enemies of the ancient kingdom of Ikana.

Or maybe even the shadow folk, known as the Sheikah tribe. Could have created this wicked mask? Since they created the eye of truth and mask of truth.

Yet nobody truly knows the history and origin of this evil mask and will probably never know...

(You guys might find out the origins of Majoras Mask. If you dive deeper into this Legend of Zelda, fanfiction story)

"In the land of Hyrule, there echoes a legend. A legend held dearly by the Royal Family that tells of a boy... A boy who, after battling evil and saving Hyrule, crept away from the land that had made him a legend... Done with the battles he once waged across time, he embarked on a journey. A secret and personal journey... A journey in search of a beloved and invaluable friend... A friend with whom he parted ways when he finally fulfilled his heroic destiny and took his place among legends..."

At the end of Ocarina of Time, Link's longtime friend Navi departed as well. He didn't know why she left, where she had gone, or whether he would ever meet her again. In his loneliness, Link begins a long journey in search of her.

But Link's search was fruitless and he nearly loses all hope and faith, yet his desperation stays strong and kept him going.

The Hero of Time set out into the lost woods to find his lost companion Navi for a few months until he was confronted by the Skull Kid who stole his Ocarina of Time.

The boy gave chase, and the two eventually entered a portal to Termina. After cursing the boy into the form of Deku Scrub, the Skull Kid went back into Termina.

Now the Hero of Time must save the people of Termina from Majoras Mask which had summoned the moon to destroy the parallel world.

The Goddess of Time was watching over Link; in every moment of his struggle to save Termina. She granted Link the ability to go back in time and affect time whenever he is playing the Ocarina of Time.

She lent him her assistance, just a few hours before the moon was about to fall, Link and Tatl confront the Skull Kid at the top of the Clock Tower. Then the hero retrieves his Ocarina and plays the "Song of Time."

Which transports him back to the beginning of the three-day cycle.

Link and Tatl made their way inside the Clock Tower, where they meet the Happy Mask Salesman. He reveals that he has been following Link and that he knows of a way to return him to his former self.

In exchange, the Happy Mask Salesman asks Link to return the "precious mask" that was stolen from him.

He teaches him the "Song of Healing." A melody that heals troubled spirits and turns them into Masks. After the song is played, the spirit of the Deku Butler's Son is encased in the Deku Mask and Link returns to his Hylian form.

Having fulfilled his promise, the Happy Mask Salesman asks for his end of the deal.

After learning that Link failed to retrieve Majoras Mask, he becomes distressed and shakes Link out of frustration.

He begs Link to recover the mask for him, once again, stressing the fact that he must leave in just three days.

Which is the day of the Carnival of Time, as well as the time remaining before the moon crashes into Clock Town.

As Link and Tatl set off to recover the Majora Mask. While the Happy Mask Salesman waits patiently inside the Clock Tower for their return.

Link used the power of the Ocarina of Time to relive the same three days over and over again, to free the Four Giant Guardians, who promised to help him to stop the moon from destroying Clocktown and the rest of Termina's inhabitants.

While saving all the lost souls and assisting the frightened people of Termina.

He approaches the Skull Kid on the Clock Tower and fought Majora's Mask inside the moon.

Once Link successfully defeated the evil inside Majora's Mask, the moon vanishes, thus saving the land of Termina from destruction.

The Happy Mask Salesman finally obtains Majora's Mask, which has seemingly lost its evil power. As he bids farewell to the Happy Mask Salesman, he reminded Link that there is someone back home awaiting his return.

After he commented on the number of people he saved and feel happy. He walks away and disappears without a trace.

Link decided to return home to Hyrule, after helping all the people of Termina. Link found acceptance, happiness, and purpose in his life.

He trusts that one day his beloved and invaluable friend Navi will return to him one day. For now, he will honor Navi's wish to help and guide those in need, thus keeping her memory alive. By being a true hero.

Link understood that loved ones come and go in life, but they will always remain in his heart.

On the fourth day, the carnival of time has arrived. Everyone who resided in Clock Town, who fled the expected disaster, has returned home and enjoyed the rest of the carnival.

When it started, it was a sight to behold, especially for Link the Hero of Termina who saved many people from undergoing a terrible fate of loss, death, loneliness, grief, depression, unfinished business, etc.

Now that the three-day time loop was over. Link could finally have some fun after all his hardships and efforts. As for his feisty fairy friend Tatl.

They both parted ways after she thanked Link for saving everyone in Termina.

The carnival started off with amazing fireworks that could almost be seen from Ikana Canyon.

Link enjoyed some of the carnival's games, drank some Chateau Romani milk, and ate wildberry crepes, pumpkin pie, cake, candy, and lots of other festival food.

First, the Indigo-Go's perform the song written by Japas and Mikau for the Carnival of Time in the Milk Bar Latte. Then Link appears as Zora Link to partake in the performance.

Among those seen enjoying this portion of the show are Honey and Darling, and the Rosa Sisters. After that, he left the stage and stealthily played the song of healing to return back to his original Hylian form.

So he can have a Chateau Romani, milk drinking competition with Romani in the Milk Bar.

Eventually Romani got drunk and then the redhead ranch girl did a silly dance when she attempted to take a few sips of the second bottle of Chateau Romani milk.

Romani has a cute look on her face when she is drunk. And she dances pretty, funny too. I only hope she doesn't become addicted to that alcoholic milk.

Link thought with a worried look on his face. Then went back to drinking his Chateau Romani milk and watching Romani loopy dance.

While Link was completely drunk after drinking at least three bottles of Chateau Romani milk.

Afterward, he began dancing the Garo dance alongside Romani, who was still doing her funny dancing performance.

Until both Romani and Link passed out on the floor. "Ahhh, too much milk," Romani said with a happy drunk face, while she was wrapped around Cremia's arms and buried her face in her shoulder. When her older sister carries her out of the Milk Bar and back to the ranch.

Soon after, Link woke up and started to watch the rest of the Milk Bar Latte performances.

Next the Rosa Sisters dance at the Milk Bar Latte using the form taught to them by Link using Kamaro's Mask.

The final performance of the Milk Bar shows a large crowd listening to the musical talents of Guru-Guru, including a Guard, Shiro, some Zoras, a Carpenter, Gabora, some Cuccoos, and Honey and Darling.

Then Link visited the inhabitants of the Deku Palace, minus the Deku Butler. As they greet him farewell and wish him safe travels. Standing cordially with the Monkey in their throne room.

Meanwhile, Link saw Romani and Cremia on their ranch. While Romani practices shooting her bow, popping three ghost-shaped balloons, earning much praise from her older sister, as she triumphantly runs a hand through her hair.

Then he challenges Romani to a bow and arrow shooting competition. Link won and was awarded two bottles of Chateau Romani milk.

"Here's your prize Link. Two bottles of Chateau Romani milk for your journey."

Cremia handed Link the milk bottles and he put them in his magical Kokiri pouch that has maximum inventory. The items, foods, and other essentials won't rust or spoil inside the pouch.

"Thanks, Cremia, I'm happy that I stopped by before I leave Termina." Link said.

I'm sure am, gonna miss the ranch sisters and their Chateau Romani milk. Although I can always use the "Song of Soaring." If I ever want to visit them again or see my other friends from Termina. Link thought.

During the afternoon, Link was invited to attend Kafei and Anju's wedding ceremony.

Now that Kafei has returned to his adult body after Majora's curse was lifted. Among those present to witness the union are Mayor Dotour, Madame Aroma, Mutoh, Cremia, Romani, Link, Captain Viscen, the Man from Curiosity Shop, Anju's Mother, Anju's Grandmother, and Tingle.

Anju is shown in her beautiful wedding dress wearing a string of pink pearls, but the adult Kafei is not shown. Tingle cries and throws confetti.

Later, the carnival of time was finally over Link said his goodbyes to all his friends with a smile on his face and decided to return home.

He got on his faithful horse Epona and left the land of Termina. In the end, he found his way into the forest connecting Hyrule and Termina where Link first meets the dead Deku Butler's son.

Link saw the Deku Butler on his kneeling and quivering as his eyes started to cry for the death of his young son. Who died a dark and gloomy demise at the hands of Majora's Mask.

Now his corpse is just a withered tree beneath the Clock Tower. "My poor dear son what happened to you." He cried.

"This is all my fault; I wasn't there when you need me the most."

He mourns in a deep cold of silence in the massive peppered cave.

"Oh, the great goddess of time please watch over my son in the heavens." Thought the Deku Butler as he prayed for his deceased son.

Link prayed to the goddess of time and Zelda; knowing full well that without their help he wouldn't be able to unwind time to change the fate of so many lives and heal the lost souls of Termina.

Link then pulls out his Ocarina of Time and plays the Song of Healing while the Deku Butler hears this soft melody that eases his pain and sorrow.

"Thank you for your heartwarming song Link; I hope my son is listening to the melody in the afterlife right now," the Deku Deku Butler said, as Link reached out his pouch the Deku mask, and handed it over to Deku Butler and said.

"This is the Deku mask and your son's spirit rests within the mask while his soul has left this world; I think you should keep it as a memento of your son so you won't forget the good memories you both shared together." He replied.

"Thank you, Link...I will hold onto this mask as a memento of my son's courage and bravery. But for now, let me show you and your horse a shortcut back home to Hyrule."

The Deku Butler explained to him the directions and pointed his finger to the right path Link should take, in order to get back home to Hyrule.

Then the Deku Butler wished him a safe journey while he continues to lament the passing of his loving son.

Finally, Link is shown riding away on Epona through the foggy woods where he first encountered the Skull Kid.
