Despite the poor economic situation, thanks to the disastrous events of the Second Cold War, the last few years, the people were in good cheer as they watched four ships of the US Navy set sail escorting a brand-new cargo ship on its maiden Voyage. Going where the American media had bragged not even the SRU dared to try and cross, the fleet would sail across the Western Pacific, cross the site of the Great Cataclysm, and into the Eastern Pacific.
This was only stage one of the plan and the Brain Child of US President Bush, the 43rd President of the United States, currently in the 3rd year of his 2nd Term and current President of the Enclave, if the US could successfully cross the Cataclysm and directly Trade with the other SRU Nations it would cripple Sparta's Hold on Global Trade, it needed to succeed as many states had been in unrest demanding to leave the Union.
What confused him is Sparta had not made any noise about their plans as they were too busy with the Construction of the Pyramid to Amun-Ra one of empires many gods apparently,
Watching from his Office on Air Force One, as the new cargo ship called the Americas Pride sailed closer and closer to the edge of the Western Pacific, this beast of a vessel was the largest cargo ship afloat 5 football fields in length and could carry 30,000 containers, tens of billions of dollars' worth of cargo and was outfitted with the most advanced scientific equipment the Americans and their allies had at their disposal and a crew of 50 sailors and 20 scientists from both MIT and Cal-Tech to study the Cataclysm as they broke through it.
The President found it strange that MACUSA had not supported America's efforts, telling him they were doomed to fail. He would have to deal with them when he was proven right. He had spent billions of taxpayers' dollars on this project, which needed to succeed.

The people of the Empire were cheering as the new Pyramid complex was open to the public. A grand causeway led from the dock on the Nile all the way to the walled-off monument. Statues of the various gods of Egypt lined the Causeway. The entryway was lined by decorated columns into a grand plaza with small temples and homes for priests.
A set of steps led up to the arched entryway built into the side of the Pyramid while inside lay an altar to Amun-Ra, it was money well spent as the Drought had long since passed and with a grand new monument, it also brought tourism from the rest of the Empire and the SRU member states.
Kassandra sat on her Royal Ship on the Nile smiling at the large crowds. "Wow mama, there are so many people here." Little Helen said in aww as she sat on her mother's lap giggling as Ikaros flew around her eating the grapes little Helen would hold up for him.
It was only Little Helen, her mother, and Big Sister Diana who were available to attend, but that was fine. She cuddled Ikaros when he landed on her lap. "I think it's time to get back to the Capital and to bed for a little lady." Hippolyta smiled as she picked up Helen from Kassandra's lap, carrying her inside to sleep, leaving Kassandra and Diana on deck as the ship sailed up the Nile back to the Capital.
"Mother, you seem way too calm about the Americans' attempt to cross the Cataclysm. I know I probably should have asked this sooner, but what is actually going on in there to block people from entering?" Diana asked her mother, turning her head to see a dark smile on her mother's face—a look she had not seen in many decades—that actually worried her.
"You need not worry dear daughter; the Cataclysm was made centuries ago as you know for the very thing the Americans are attempting to do was all foreseen by myself centuries ago as a warning from the gods".

Captain Peter Smith smiled to himself as the dark clouds and storms of the Cataclysm slowly got closer and closer as they sailed towards history, they would sail across the Cataclysm and finally break the SRU monopoly over global trade.
Down in the scientific bay, they were not as optimistic. They were still miles from the area, and the readings their equipment was giving were nowhere near good. If anything, they were very, very bad. Their signals were going haywire.
Unaware to the American fleet, the SRU were watching to see what would happen as out of the current leadership of the member states only Kassandra and Hippolyta were left from that momentous day centuries ago.
As the ships arrived and then crossed into the region, all hell broke loose. The cameras onboard the ship, sending a live feed back to the mainland, saw nothing but black fog and lightning strikes hitting one of the warships before the screams of the crew could be heard, and all communication was cut.
These ships were not destroyed then and there, as many on the mainland now believed. No, that would be a mercy, no, the crews' screams would be for what they saw coming at them. Strange creatures flew past them.
In the Science Bay all hell broke loose as the equipment was all but useless as they overloaded and blew or shutdown and the scientists struggled to get them back up and running while outside the ship everything went to hell 2 of the 4 warships turned around trying to get out of the Cataclysm.
As for the Americas Pride, its captain refused to change course until he saw a creature that terrified him: a massive sea beast from legend, the Kraken.
The crew of the 2 us ships that turned away could only see the Americas Pride break in half after its bow was raised high in the air by what they believed to be a huge wave and come crashing down the stress causing its hull to break.
The crew watched as the multi-billion-dollar ship and their fellow naval craft were lost to the waves. They would manage to escape the area, but the ships would be horribly damaged and barely escape, with most of the weapon systems and communications deep-fried.
The ships limped their way back to San Diego. Three days later, they were spotted by media helicopters. The entire nation watched in horror as these two ships made dock right on Imperial Beach.
Meanwhile in Sparta Kasandra sat in her office watching the news with a glass of wine. "Hmm 3 out of 5 isn't bad, I'll wait till I receive the report from Site Hades." She said to herself before turning off the TV and getting back to work.

Located in the Great Cataclysm
Oh yes, that's right. While the Great Cataclysm forever split the planet's largest body of water in half and said that any and all islands that were thought to have existed were now said to be forever lost, that was not entirely true.
The Hawaiian Islands were an Imperial Black Site, used by the Spartan Empire to keep dangerous Magical Artifacts on one of the islands, while on Maui the Spartans held the largest and most secure Prison known only as Site Hades.
Currently, elite Spartan Warriors donned in a mixture of Black Robes and Armour watched in silence as their new prisoners were led down into the Prison by their brothers. Fun fact about these guards: While a few of them were born in the Empire and were hand-picked for this job by the Queen herself, the majority were natives of the Islands.
The Warden wrote his report to the Queen on there newest guests where he would await his orders.

My liege and Divine Sovereign I write to inform you of the successful retrieval and arrival of the 210 US Naval officers and enlisted as well as the passengers and crew of the cargo vessel for operation repatriation.
I will begin operation within the next two months as instructed.

With a nod he sealed the letter and it vanished to an imperial facility in Persia where it would be rerouted to the Monarchs location, all magic to prevent top secret information from being intercepted by the Empires enemies.
Kassandra would receive the letter four hours later, as she was in meetings for most of the day and did not have the time to read it. She only knew it arrived when she walked into her office to find her wife, her daughters, and her daughter-in-law standing there looking at her, Hippolyta holding the letter in her hands. "Explain this Site Hades to me, dear wife, and why you have hidden it from us."
Sitting down, she took the document and read it before burning it to ash to the shock of her gathered family. "Mother! Gorgo exclaimed in shock, only to pause and see that her mother's eyes had turned golden, but Kassandra herself seemed to be completely out of it.
They had seen this before. Thankfully, their mother was here physically but had been summoned to Olympus in terms of Spirit. This only lasted a few minutes before Kassandra returned, a smile adorning her face.
Looking at her family she nodded. "Yes, I have kept Site Hades from you all, because I didn't want you to know." Earning a shocked look from her children and an annoyed stare from her wife, Diana sat down in front of her mother and Queen.
"Mother, why? Why and Imperial Black Site when did you have this place built why did you not tell us we are family?"
"That is exactly why I didn't tell any of you. Everything I have done over the last two and a half centuries has been to protect my family and the people of the Empire from the visions I have been cursed with." Seeing their confused looks, she sighed. Standing from her desk, she looked at the map of the world on her wall.
"I created the Cataclysm after word was received of the possible threat of rebellion in what was then the British Colonies in America I received a vision. In that vision the Cataclysm did happen our allies power would be greatly reduced or totally gone, I saw tens of thousands or our soldiers Dead on the Battlefields I then saw Kassandria destroyed in a big Mushroom cloud."
Turning to see the shocked faces of her family, she stood firm. "As for the Black Site, it has been around for quite some time. You see, about five years after the Cataclysm, my mages discovered the islands had survived," Kassandra said with a bit of joy in her voice as she continued.
"I established contact with the native people and came to an agreement with there King, they would become a client Kingdom of the Empire, we would have permission to build facilities on their islands as long as a sizable portion of the staff were native."
"But now it is of no consequence, thanks to my new vision from the gods. The Eagle will fall soon, but the Enclave is a hydra; they won't die easily." While her children left the office, her wife stayed behind, taking the seat Diana had been sitting in.
"Spill it Kassandra why didn't you tell me I'm your wife? Hippolyta took Kassandra's hands in her looking at her. "I didn't want to worry you Hippolyta, it's how I was raised despite my age I am still a Spartan and a soldier at heart."
The two Queens spent the evening together, unaware that at that moment, the Egale was indeed falling. All hell broke loose across the nation, and it went into freefall.
President Bush would face an impeachment but would survive by one vote and that one vote would be the final nail in the coffin, the Federal Government was broken and out of money and states started to breakaway as California voted to secede from the Union followed by many other states that the Enclave couldn't do anything to stop them without funds and the Military outright refusing to follow orders.
The Bush Administration would forever be known as the man wo destroyed the Union, as the Union split into 5 new nations, California Nevada and Oregon would unify into a new Country known as the New California Republic.
Texas being the Lone Star state would split off to become the Republic of Texas, while Arizonia New Mexico Utah and Colorado would become the 4 states Commonwealth.
While the States from North Carolina to Florida and the island State of Puerto Rico the Atlantic Coast to the east and the Mississippi river to the west become the Southern Union.
As for the Rest of America, they remained together; however, the Republic was a Shadow of its former self, with the Enclave failing to gain a foothold in the early years thanks to the Brotherhood. When a new president was elected in January 2008, he would have a very difficult few years as rebuilding a smaller and weakened nation would be no easy task.
And I would be lying if I said there weren't a few Nobles and Politicians across the world who raised a glass in toast to the collapse of the USA, believing that the world would go back to normal and not sit and watch for any sign of this conflict between two nations getting hot at any moment.
By 2010 the NCR and the United States would begin Trade with each other with Texas and the Commonwealth joining in 2011 the Southern Union refused to get involved for as Kassandra had predicted the Enclave had established itself there with the founding of its new company Poseidon Energy, a name that insulted a certain God of the Sea much to the amusement of the other gods.
