A/N: Hello everyone. I would like to say I'm sorry for not writing sooner. I've been stuck in the writing process I had all my thoughts planned out but the process was hard. I have other productions in the future. After this Chapter is posted I will be co-writing with my twin sister EverFlawless about a Marcus and Elena story that we already have 10 chapters outlined. I am still here. Nothing has happened to me during this stressful year. I would like everyone to know the world is still beautiful.

Disclaimer: I don't own Ouran Highschool Host Club. I just love the verse to writing about it. :)

Chapter Five: Sea of Change

Yorihisa Haninozuka's Point of View *Third person Omniscient* (song for chapter: Stand in the Light By Jordan Smith)

Stand in the light and be seen as we are

The loud footsteps of the student body secretary of Ouran Highschool were heard outside the corridor of his office. The young student lays the file on his desk before he had the chance to ask she turns to leave. "Did anyone see you with this file young lady?" His sternness comes from being a manly-man to protect his family. It was brought to him by his father. His father's father, and so on, and so forth.

"No sir. Only the teachers know what is going on as you asked for the privacy of your daughter. No one will find out until you're ready to give the information freely." Taking the file off the desk while the student leaves He takes a look at his daughter's permanent record. She has so much information in there already that she could already graduate now if she wished. Why would she want to continue to go to school is beyond him. She has the world in the palm of her hands. It says here that she wants to be a lawyer like her mother.

Didn't I tell you I hear what you say?

"Maybe that one wish will be granted one day. If she works hard enough for it. She does have me in her corner to help when needed. If she wants to go out of the country to become the best lawyer then I will help the best I know how." He sees the report from the chairman that she's got musical talent just like her mother. His eyes bulge out of their sockets when he realizes the consistencies of her being the same as his late wife. She too would hide her musical abilities. She didn't want to be the center of attention. He turns in his seat and looks out the wide window to the late morning sun.

Never look back as you're walking away

Carry the music, the memories and keep them inside

You

He doesn't know what it will take for her to follow her dreams but he does want to push her to be in the class with Kyoya and Tamaki. She deserves to be a senior like Mori and Honey. But for now, she needs to be a sophomore with the two young men he recognizes that one of them could be for her. He doesn't know how he really feels about such an epiphany for someone like them to be with his daughter. But he is hoping it will end up being Kyoya in the end. He already knows that Kyoya is technically engaged to his daughter before she got kidnapped by her step-father.

Laugh every day

Don't stop those tears from falling down

Outside of the wide and floor-length window, the student that just showed up with the file is walking briskly away. The garden of the mansion is vast and numerous. There are so many plants outside that his mother planted when he was a young lad. He remembers the day they were planted because he was there to help his mother plant them all. If you were to open the gate from the road you would see that the mansion its self is like an old fashion dojo house. there are many mats, bamboo doors, an old fashioned Japanese porch, and old fashioned bamboo fountain in the middle of the garden that has a water fill up and then tipped into the bottom of the fountain, there is a garden path that leads to the koi pond in the back yard where it is lined with sakura trees that during the spring blossoms festival it would look like another time in the season to have faux snow falling to the ground. A time in his grandmother's life that she would love to take care of such a beautiful piece of art if she was still alive. True to old-fashioned families such a property would have been handed down through the males of the family. But in this line, it belongs to the females.

This is who I am inside...

Thinking about his daughter still, he can tell that her smarts are on par with Kyoya Ootori. Knowing such a thing 'I hope that it would broaden the scope of what she is learning day-to-day with having someone like Kyoya to keep her on her toes.'

Kyoya's Pov *Third person Omniscient*

White coats pass by Kyoya. His anxiety spikes in the hallway. He wishes that there was some other place to be. Or he could take Haruhi home with him. He extremely hates the hospital. 'Why does such a dangerous place exist in the world anyway?' He asks himself.

The hallways spin due to his anxiety before he makes it to Haruhi's room 407, The fourth floor, the seventh door down the hall. The fourth door on the left. Opening the door he finds Honey jumping in the air just to be pushed to the side by Mori "She's still not well Honey. Give her time." The silent man who only answers in "Hmm." finally speaks a lot. But giving him credit, he didn't know there was someone else behind him ready to see Haruhi.

Due to Haruhi not being awake Kyoya sighs in relief that Mori told Honey to wait. 'It's great to have a friend like Mori around that actually cares about the well being of others.' As much as he does.

This is who I am, I'm not going to hide...

Due to the infection in her body, she is sleeping more than normal. He just wishes she was awake so he could see her beautiful eyes again. When the light hits her eyes just right it looks like she's actually smiling again. It can be faint but it's there. He does notice.

The door opens again behind him and then comes the man he would really not want to see. Her stepfather kidnapped her. Kyoya clenches his fists, grinds his teeth and his stomach turns in knots due to the anger he is feeling. 'Who said he had the right to come here?'

"Who said you could come here!" Honey screams at the man. Voicing the thoughts of Kyoya, he then continues, "I didn't even get to know her when she was little. That is my baby sister and you kept her from me, and my family."

'Cause the greatest risk, we'll ever take is by far...

"I did it for her own protection to not enter a certain school." The older man replies a bit lamely

Kyoya then replies "This is the most ridiculous cockamamie-bull I have ever heard. You just didn't want her family with her cause you were in love with your wife that died. But you kidnapped her, in the end, she was supposed to go back to her family that she didn't know. You know that right? She was supposed to go far in the world and you stopped her from that." His anger keeps getting worse but is stopped when he hears the beeping of Haruhi's heart monitor. Showing the signs that something isn't right with Haruhi. Something is truly wrong. 'Cause shouldn't she be off that monitor by now?

The doctors rush in and someone tells everyone to leave and to wait in the waiting room. Honey begins crying while Mori stays quiet and follows behind Honey slowly deep in depression. Though he should have followed them Kyoya sits on the floor across the hall and lays his head against the wall just waiting for them to tell him he can come back in there to see Haruhi. He believes if he leaves now then something worse will truly happen.

To stand in the light and be seen as we are...

To stand in the light and be seen as we are...

The doctors come out of the room and look to the boy who is sitting on the floor in front of the room. "you can come back in but we recommend no fighting. She still recovering and you all fighting doesn't help with the situation of her getting better."

The older man that is Haruhi's stepfather the doctor addresses angrily "You though, sir was not supposed to be here in her room." Kyoya looks at the man and smirks that he got in trouble. He flicks his glasses to the bridge of his nose and breathes loudly with a slight chuckle. 'Serves him right.'

With courage and kindness hold onto your faith...

Haruhi's Pov *Third person Omniscient*

She was breathing heavily after hearing the fight. How could she hold any anger to her father that raised her? He was there for her when there was no one there for her. Yeah, it may seem to look bad on his side. But he worked hard for her to go to Ouran Highschool. Without his help she would probably not get the help she was well deserved to get. Yeah, she misses her mom. But if her mom was still alive she knows she wouldn't hold against the man that did raise her.

Her mother raised in the bible, she was taught forgiveness and love, how to fight for the truth. Even though where she lives not many people could look at you and tell you that they were raised in such an away. But for her, she just loved to learn and to have all the facts. She believed that there were facts in the bible that show in today's world. Love and forgiveness are what she is all about that's how she can feel the way she feels about her stepfather.

You get what you give and it's never too late...

She opens her eyes and smiles softly knowing for the fact she will get to see her family and friends again today. Though she hopes to see Kyoya first before anyone else. She just wants to be around him. She's not sure why. She feels calm when he's around. He nullifies the pain if that makes sense. Not that she's in unbearable pain. It's more like an emotional pain that she didn't know that she carried around her. That only he can cure. Not that she needs a guy to fix her or anything. She turns her head the same time the door opens.

Kyoya's Pov *Third person Omniscient*

As Kyoya walked in he sees Haruhi lying on the hospital bed dripping in sweat her hair is matted and pasted to her face as if she was dunked in water. when He sees Haruhi he gasps in bewilderment he walks to her bed in three big strides and lays his head on her bed not before he grabs her hand. She squeezes his hand making him notice that she is still in pain. Kyoya would look at you and tell you that he isn't really a religious man. But seeing her in this bed before his eyes, he wishes that he could put himself here instead of her. He doesn't know why he feels this way he just knows that he wishes it wasn't her. That she didn't have to go through so many trials and tribulations. She is such an endearing person. She has the qualities that many should strive to achieve. He wouldn't say she was a saint. She's just a good person. Whereas he may struggle to be that type of person. When he is around Haruhi he wants to be better. So he can't stand the fact that she is in this hospital. He truly hates hospitals. But being here for her he wouldn't be anywhere else right now. She needs him just as much as he needs her. How could he have not known that she wasn't okay? That's the question he can't figure out at all. How and why didn't he know? He doesn't let anyone know but he's been keeping an eye on her at all times. But when Tamaki asked for his help that day he turned away when he saw her sleeping with honey he didn't think anything was off so he didn't check. He did however take pictures. But he won't' show anyone those he feels it was wrong now. At the time he just thought it was a good moment with Haruhi and honey that they would want in the future for family photos. But now he wonders if he should have asked first if they wanted a photo of each other. Now it feels like photos of Haruhi and honey are taboo in some way.

To reach for the branch and climb up leaving sadness behind you...

It's so heart wrenching that he couldn't help at the time. He made a promise and went back on that promise to keep her safe. Of course, no one knows of this promise so of course no one will hold that promise against him but he just wanted some reassurance that all will be okay with Haruhi. Maybe that's a bit selfish of him to feel that he needs some reassurance when she's in the hospital. But don't everyone needs some like this in a life-threatening position. He is shocked out of his reverie when Haruhi squeezes tighter on his hand.

Fight hard for love we can never give enough...

Haruhi started to open her beautiful eyes. He took in a deep breath when he sees them again. He couldn't help but feel that the heart started again. As if it stopped and just now reawaken just for Haruhi. Just looking in her eyes he can't help but remember a saying from Plato when he was reading not too long ago. Every heart sings a song, incomplete until another heart whispers back. Those who wish to sing always find a song.

She smiles softly at him. He can't help but wonder how she can still smile this way but still be in pain. He knows that she is still in pain. Before he can say anything there is a knock on the door of the hospital room. "Can we talk my dear? Then you can spend with whoever you wish." He asks while seeing that she is awake.

This is who I am inside, This is who I am, I'm not going to hide...

'Cause the greatest risk, we'll ever take is by far, To stand in the light and be seen as we are...

To stand in the light and be seen as we are...
