I've been up for an hour having a dance party in my Hobbit Hole to this song. I'm obsessed XD.
I'm off for two weeks and I'm sort of getting somewhere with Operation Jibbs so that's good. Truths not so much. I'm working on A Girl With A Wish too.
They'd broken up.
After being apart for six years they'd started dating again but then six months after that they'd gotten into a fight and Jenny walked out of Gibbs's house. The place that had become more of a home to her than her own house ever would be. That was a month ago, and they hadn't spoken since. Everytime he needed something from her, he sent Tony up.
He'd left a post it note on her window and he was currently outside getting coffee in the rain. He could see her office. He wished she could just breathe against the glass and give him a sign she got his post it. He knew the pain of her leaving probably wouldn't go away, but he just wanted her to tell him it wasn't the end of the line for them.
Jenny never meant to break his heart. She was trying to keep the plane that was their love in the air but it seemed impossible. She'd seen him the day after they'd broken up. She saw the tear that rolled down his face. She never meant to make him cry. She wanted to make their love work. She wanted them to hold onto their feelings and keep going. Love is the best thing after all. She was going to place a bet that they would get back together. She knew their relationship would maybe, just maybe, go up.
She had left another post it note with a question mark on his desk. But she knew what he wanted. He wanted to turn the clock right back to where it was. 22:00 on a Sunday night. He wanted to build a bridge from her side to his. He would be the one to cross over it. He just needed her to tell him they weren't over.
Jenny never meant to break his heart. She was attempting to keep the plane that was their love in the air but it was really hard. She'd seen him the day after they'd broken up. She noticed the tear that rolled down his face. She never meant to make him cry. She wanted to make their love work. She wanted them to hold onto their feelings and keep going. Love is the best thing after all. She was going to place a bet that they would get back together. She knew their relationship would maybe, just maybe, go up.
Gibbs knew they could climb back to where they were. He wished Jenny could feel it in his heart. He hoped and prayed that she understood. If she did, all she had to say is "yes". He was waiting for her to say it. He was hoping she would say it.
Jenny took a deep breath before she pressed her intercom button.
"Cynthia" she stated. "Please ask Agent Gibbs to come up here now. Tell him it's an order."
"Yes Ma'am" her loyal assistant responded.
Gibbs walked in a few minutes later and Jenny's eyes filled with tears.
"Hey, Jethro" she whispered.
"Hi, Jen" he responded softly.
She gestured to the chair opposite her and he sat down.
"I'm sorry" she said quietly. "I never meant to break your heart. I never meant to make you cry. I don't know what I was thinking when I left. I'm so sorry."
She was crying now and Gibbs's eyes filled with sadness to see the one he loved crying. He kneeled down beside her and rubbed her neck as she sobbed into her hands.
"I'm sorry too, Jen" he murmured.
"Where do we go now, Jethro?" She asked.
"We start again, if you want" he offered.
She lifted her face up from her hands.
"I'd like that" she replied, a smile filling up her face. "I'd like that very much."
Gibbs grinned too.
"I love you" he informed her honestly.
Jenny was shocked.
"I love you too" she responded.
He put his hand on her cheek and stroked it. She put her hand on top of his and a tear rolled down her face. He wiped it away before he kissed her.
Finally, things were going up.
I've always been in love with this song, but more so than ever. Thanks for reading, you guys! X
