I'm sorry it's short, but yes I'm alive and I've decided I need to sit down and finish stuff. So, uh, enjoy!
Playing Quidditch was the best thing ever, in Harry's opinion.
Playing Quidditch on a Pegasus with a mind of its own?
...Eh, it could be worse.
Percy was weirdly good at one thing and one thing only: hitting the bludger. Usually with his hand, like he was playing some weird game of volleyball.
"You're supposed to use a bat!" Harry yelled over at the professor, who had just, once again, hit the Bludger with his bare hand.
"Feels too unbalanced!"
"Lame excuse." Ginny rolled her eyes, dodging around him on her broom.
"Well to be fair it's not like I can, like, use my sword to play."
Harry paused. "Wait. Sword?"
Percy blinked. "Um yeah? Y'know, backup weapon for when things go south?"
"You carry a backup weapon?"
"You don't?"
"To be fair, most people don't carry a sword around Percy." Lou Ellen Blackstone called up from the bleachers, where she was watching.
Percy just shook his head. "Whatever- Hey!" He slapped away the Bludger, which zoomed off to hunt down Ron Weasley.
"You're gonna bust a hand if you keep that up, y'know." Ginny informed hiim.
Percy's Pegasus snorted as if in agreement, as Percy stared down as his slowly-blistering hand. "...Well, I mean, it worked?"
Fun fact: It did not work. Less then a minute later, the Bludger knocked Percy off his Pegasus and the poor wigned horse was so startled that Percy found himself staring up at the sky from the ground of the Quidditch Pitch as Blackjack disappeared into the Forbidden Forest.
"And that," Ginny said triumphnatly as she touched down nearby the fallen Percy, "is why people play Quidditch on brooms."
Percy just grumbled in reply, as Ron tried not to laugh and Harry went to go find Percy an actual broom to use.
Lou Ellen, Hermione, and nnabeth, the latter two who'd arrived just in time to see Percy's epic fall, came down to the pitch as Percy dusted hismelf off.
"I prefer Capture the Flag." Percy declared.
Annabeth just shook her head. "That's because you're supposed to use a broom for Quidditch and you've played way more Capture the Flag then Quidditch."
"Capture the Flag?" Hermione asked. "Isn't that something elementary school kids play?"
"Not at the summer camp Percy and I went to. We played it every single week and it was our one big team sport." Annabeth shrugged.
"I've heard you and the other professors talk about your camp, what was it like?" Hermione continued. "I mean, wizarding camps aren't that common...?"
Annabeth glanced at Percy. "Well, for starters, some of the others like Frank Zhang and Hazel Levesque went to a simillar camp on the other side of America, so some things are differnet. But essentially it was for 'troubled' kids." Annabeth made air quotes. "I'd say that it was a bit like Hogwarts but more...combat-based."
"Definitely more combat-based. Everything is based on the idea that you'll have to defend yourself one day." Percy nodded.
"Sounds interesting." Ginny commeneted. "I like the sound of that very much."
"Well, it's not for everyone but it's definitely something special." Percy chuckled, as Harry returned with the school broom. "Now, how do these things work again?"
"..."
"..."
"...Oh my gods Percy, that is not how you ride a broom-"
