Jenny Shepard walked through the snow late at night. The frozen white powder, and the Christmas light and the icy window panes made her wish she and her former boyfriend, Leroy Jethro Gibbs, could be together again.

The windy winter avenues didn't appear the same and the carols sounded like blues, but that wasn't the choir's fault.

It didn't have to be that way. What they had shouldn't have ended. She was tempted to drop by his house so they could sort this mess out because it was only right.

Leroy Jethro Gibbs walked out of a crowded store after buying gifts. There had been a Santa in the corner with a line of small children lining up to meet him and tinsel everywhere. On the streets outside, there were bands playing Christmas songs which were a little out of tune. There was a lonely man, and if Gibbs told Jenny who it was, he was sure she'd understand. He missed her.

'It doesn't have to be this way' he thought, 'what we did have never should've ended. Maybe I could drop by later and we can clean up this mess. It's the right thing to do.'

He and Jenny both walked home and a couple of hours later, they both decided to walk to the other's house. The two of them walked onto a street and locked eyes. They both ran as far as possible and wrapped their arms around each other.

"I'm sorry" Gibbs whispered.

"Me too" Jenny responded quietly, tears in her eyes.

He pressed his lips to hers, and they both smiled into the kiss. It was much better this way.

Thanks again for reading guys! X
