(I have returned again with a new update)
It was the night before the finals for the Chunin Exams, and Team Kappa were at their lodging in Konoha looking up at the moon.
"Tomorrow's the day, guys." Naruto told them.
"Uh-huh." Karai confirmed.
"Can't believe it's been a whole month already." Hun said surprised.
"Time really flies, doesn't it?" Naruto asked rhetorically as they continued to gaze fondly up at the night sky.
It has indeed been a whole month since the preliminaries happened to narrow down the competition. And the fourteen competitors had spent that month training for the finals. Karai had learned under the guidance of Tatsu, while Hun was trained under the guidance of Khan and their fellow Foot Ninja Danny trained under Zabuza who was called to the village along side Khan. Naruto however was put under the guidance of Jiraiya of the Sannin, the very man who was there that night when Naruto was given to Oroku Saki. Though Naruto found Jiraiya's perverted nature to be childish, he did prove to be an effective instructor. Even allowed Naruto to sign the Toad Summoning Scroll.
And now the deadline has come and they and all the other competitors were ready to show everyone what they could do.
"Guys." Naruto addressed his teammates/friends.
"Yeah?" Hun asked.
"Let's kick some ass tomorrow." Naruto smirked prompting Karai and Hun to as well.
"You know it." Karai answered, as the three pound it.
When morning came, civilians and shinobi from Konoha were gathering in the village stadium to watch the finals. Among the guests included several feudal lords who were interested in using the finals to make bets against each other.
Up in the stands sat Hiruzen before looking to the side and saw the other Kage approaching. From the Sand was the Kazekage known as Rasa; the father of the Sand siblings. From Water was Mei Terumi the Mizukage. From the land of Earth was Onoki the Tsuchikage. Then from Cloud there was Ei; the Raikage.
"Greetings Lord Hokage." Rasa greeted.
"Ah, welcome all of you," Hiruzen greeted, "I do hope there was no trouble during your travels to the village?"
"None at all." Mei answered.
"My back when out twice, but I'm still here." Onoki added.
"I say this could be probably the biggest Chunin Exams finals yet." Ei said looking around at all who turned up to see it.
"Yes. We've got some very fine candidates here ready to prove their worth as shinobi." Hiruzen chuckled.
"Pardon me. Room for two more?" came a voice, as the five Kage looked and saw Saki and Shen approaching.
"Saki! Shen! Nice to see you both." Hiruzen greeted the couple.
"Same to you Lord Hokage. And the rest of the honorable Kages." Saki bowed his head, as did Shen.
"Shen, you're as lovely as ever." Mei commented.
"Thank you, Mei. Same for you." Shen smiled.
"We do hope we're not intruding since this box is reserved for the Kages of the Lands." Saki said.
"No trouble at all. After all I figured you'd want a box seat as your children fight." Hiruzen said.
"So your kids are in the finals, huh?" Onoki asked.
"Correct. Our son Naruto, and our daughter Karai." Shen explained.
"You must be proud of them." Ei noted.
"Indeed we are, as we are to the rest of our shinobi who participated and lost." Saki said, as he and Shen took their seats.
Down in the arena stood the competitors with Naruto glancing around at Karai, Hun, Sasuke, Danny, and even Gaara. While up in the crowds included Sakura, Ino, Chouji, Guy, Lee, Tenten, Shinsho, and Freddy. While all around the arena Kakashi, Tatsu, Khan, Zabuza, Haku, and other shinobi were stationed on standby in case something were to occur.
Stepping out was their proctor who had a toothpick in his mouth, "Welcome everyone to the Chunin Exam Finals. I am Genma, and I shall be your proctor. The first match of the finals will be between Naruto Oroku and Neji Hyuga." Naruto and Neji squinted in each others directions, while in the crowd Hiashi and his daughters Hinata and Hanabi looked on eager to see how this match would go, "Everyone else go up above and wait your turn."
So Karai, Hun, and the others went up to the combatants side of the stands to watch from a safe distance while Naruto and Neji remained on the arena ground.
Neji and Naruto stood on opposite ends, while Genma stood center, "Rules are just like they were in preliminary matches. And I'm allowed to step in should I see fit too."
Neji spoke to Naruto, "Any last words before your inevitable defeat?"
Naruto frowned at the cocky Hyuga prodigy, but answered, "Only that you will fall at my hands for all the bad things you said about Hinata, and myself." Neji frowned.
"Begin!" Genma announced as he jumped back to give the two the ground.
"Byakugan!" Neji activated his family eyes, as Naruto started running around Neji to try and throw him off.
"What's he doing?" Kiba asked, as he watched the match.
"Shadow Clone jutsu!" Naruto summoned a clone as they attacked Neji from both sides, only for the Hyuga boy to block both their attacks, dispel the clone, and knock Naruto back.
"Is that really the best you can do?" Neji asked unimpressed.
"I'm just getting warmed up,"Naruto said before forming hand signs, "Fire style: Fire Dragon Flame Bullet!" he blew a jet of fire at Neji who dodged before the flames could burn him.
Hun laughed, "Getting warmed up! Naruto really knows how to make a joke." Karai snickered to herself.
Neji went at it with Naruto who dodged Neji's strikes knowing if he connected to any of his chakra points it could be all over for him.
"Why do you persist on fighting your fate?" Neji demanded, as he kept trying to land a blow at Naruto.
"Because this isn't my fate!" Naruto answered, before kicking Neji in the stomach forcing him back.
Neji landed on his feet and rubbed his abdomen, "And why do you think otherwise?"
"Because everything that comes out of your moth is toxic!" Naruto answered, "Who're you to tell people what they can or can't do?"
"I only wish to keep those not destined for greatness to not get their hopes up too high." Neji answered with no remorse.
"Sugarcoat it all you want, because we all know you're just an ass who looks down on anyone that doesn't meet your expectations of what it means to be a shinobi. When we first met Hinata, Karai and I saw she was capable of so much, but you constantly put her down and made her feel worthless."
"Because she was doomed a-" Neji didn't have a chance to finish, as Naruto continued.
"There you are doing it again! Don't you ever get tired of saying the same thing? Do you think every great villager leader, every kage, or something was always meant to reach that rank because they were special? They got there through hard work, determination, and heart. And that's how I intend to become a great shinobi. And not let pompous cocky assholes like you say otherwise!" he summoned several shadow clones who joined him in fighting Neji head on.
"Go get 'em, Naruto!" Karai and Hun cheered, as the spectators watched intrigued.
Neji was keeping up with them before concentrating, "Rotation!" he spun around fast creating a chakra barrier that repelled Naruto and his clones making them go poof.
This surprised Hinata, her sister, and father, "Father, Neji..." Hanabi began.
"Yes, he's actually done it." Hiashi confirmed.
Naruto picked himself up, looked at Neji and smirked, "You know, Neji, you really helped prove my point."
"What do you mean?" Neji scowled.
"What you just did there was a technique known only to the main house of the Hyuga clan," Naruto began, "How'd I know? I talked to Hinata plenty of times during this month while she was recovering. And she told me much about her family. Including some facts about you. You were born in the branch side of the clan, and branded the seal that keeps the secrets of the Byakugan from falling into the wrong hands. And that Rotation technique is known only to the Main House. And yet you used it without flaw. Meaning you learned it all on your own... If that's not fighting fate then I don't know what is."
"I've had enough of your talk!" Neji attacked Naruto head on.
Naruto dodged some hits, before Neji found an opening and began strking Naruto's chakra points.
"Naruto!" Hun called, while Karai was in shock.
Hinata watched in worry, as did Saki and Shen, while the Kage wondered what would happen next. When Neji struck the last point in Naruto he dropped to the ground.
"I shut down your chakra network. You won't be fighting in this match anymore." Neji told Naruto who was deep in his mind and facing Kurama behind his cage.
"Kurama, it's time." he told the fox demon.
"Indeed. Let's see how much you've improved when using my chakra." Kurama replied, as his chakra started to flow through Naruto's body.
Before Genma could call the match to Neji, Naruto got up with the nine tails chakra surrounding him, "Not so fast, Neji!"
Neji was in shock, as was everyone else watching the match, "This can't be. You shouldn't be able to use chakra let alone stand." the boy said in disbelief.
"That's the thing with me, Neji. What doesn't kill me only makes me stronger." And as fast as lightning Naruto zipped from where he was standing and nailed Neji making him fly backward.
"Neji!" Tenten gasped, while Lee and Guy were shocked.
Before Neji could crash into the arena wall, Naruto zipped behind him and nailed him once again. Neji kept getting hit back and forth by Naruto, before the Foot Ninja gave Neji one last hit making him crash onto the ground. Naruto panted as Kurama's chakra died down, while everyone in the stands, from the competitors, spectators, and the Kage were surprised at this outcome. Saki and Shen however smiled knowing their son could pull it off.
Genma seeing Neji looked like he wouldn't be getting up like Naruto did announced, "This match is over. Naruto Oroku is the winner!"
Suddenly Karai cheered, "You did it!"
"Alright!" Hun followed up.
Soon the spectators all started applauding with several of the shinobi looking very impressed. Naruto looked up hearing the sounds of applause and many of the spectators cheering him. The young shinobi smiled and raised a fist in victory.
Up in the Kage Box, the village leaders, and Naruto's parents looked on in awe, "Remarkable." Hiruzen gasped.
"Now that was some match." Onoki chuckled.
"A splendid performance." Mei smiled.
"That's some kid you have there, Saki." Ei turned to the man.
"Yes. He's a wonder isn't he?" Saki smiled proudly.
"And if you thought Naruto was something, just wait till you see our Karai in action." Shen added, as they watched Naruto take in the praise while Neji was taken away by the medic ninja.
(Don't miss next time for the other matches and a little more)
