Last night might not been a date but I had fun. Ivan was fun to talk to and, it kept my mind off of yesterday's mess. As for today, Lillie encouraged me to join a club so I'm looking around. In all honesty, most of these clubs aren't my thing but who knows, I may find something I like. I do have to admit though, some of the clubs are interesting enough that, I never heard of before. Like, the farming club, I'm guessing they work on a farm together?
Turning around, I gave Fritz a smile as he caught up to me. "Hi Fritz, what's up?"
"Not much. Just about to go meet Annie and Johnny at the library. They promised me they'd help me study for a upcoming test."
"Having trouble with a certain subject?" I tilted my head.
"Kinda…it's embarrassing but I may need help with world history…"
"Ah." With a nod, I could understand. "You're having trouble with dates aren't you?"
"That was me last year at my old school." I thought for a moment. "You know what might help? A study guide that is color coded and easy to read. When I get home I'll see if I still have my old notes."
"Thanks Shan!" He grinned at me. "Do you think it'd help?"
"Far as I know history hasn't changed since I've took the class so, yeah it'd help you."
"Awesome!" He looked behind me. "So you're looking at the open clubs?"
"Yeah, Lillie is encouraging me to try something new. Though, I'm not sure what club I'd actually join."
He thought for a moment. "You know, there's a dance coming up. Maybe you should give them a hand setting up? That way you don't have to commit to anything permanent."
"I'll think about it, thanks Fritz. Anyway, I think I'll go sit outside. See you later okay?"
At the football field, I found myself joining the rest of the student body on the bleachers. Looking out towards the field, the football players were practicing for the upcoming game and I just watched with my hand resting my cheek. The cheerleaders was having cheer practice and I could have sworn I saw Lexi eying me. Which was odd because Dirk wasn't in eyesight? Looking around my surroundings, I did see the mentioned boy sitting at the bottom with Ash and how much I was tempted to approach, I stayed put. I just didn't want any drama today. Or ever again.
To distract myself, I decided to start a conversation with the boy next to me. He had blonde hair and red eyes, and he seems grumpy. "So do you think they'd have a chance of winning the upcoming game?"
The boy gave me a look. "I guess." Was all he said. I could have sworn I heard a groan out of him so I let him be.
"Neil, be nice."
Hearing a voice, I looked up to see Alex. With a wave, it didn't take her long to sit on the other end of me.
"This is the girl I've told you about. Shan meet Neil. The grumpiest boy in school history." She teased him.
Neil rolled his eyes. "It's not my fault that she started talking to me Alex."
"Hi Neil. It's nice to meet you too." I couldn't help but laugh into my hand. Something tells me Neil's going to be fun to poke.
"Hey isn't that Shan sitting up there with Alex and Neil?"
Looking over my shoulder, I nodded at Ash. "That's her. Though I wonder why she's doing here."
"Probably checking out the team like the rest of us?" He smirked. "Still, she is cute. I'm thinking about asking her out because you obviously can't. Dude you're staring."
Coming back to reality, I poked my best friend's arm. For some reason, Ash's comment about asking Shan out really bothered me. "You're not serious are you? And who says that I couldn't ask her out?"
"I think Lexi would think otherwise. Considering, she literally has you wrapped around her finger." He smirked. "And hey, I'm just teasing dude. I can see that you liked her first." He patted my shoulder. "So, what are you going to do?"
"I have no idea." With a groan, I really need to think of something. Ash wasn't wrong, though. Who knows how long it'd take for someone to actually ask her out, Ash included. "You're still interested in her, aren't you?"
"Maybe a little. Come on man she's cute and I'm tired of being the third wheel between everyone around me…"
