A/N: Thank you to everyone who has read and reviewed. I'd like to say I am sorry for the very long update. I recently moved and started working a new job so I haven't had much time. I went through chapters 1-4 and fixed the grammar errors, though I'm sure I missed some things. I also added a couple of things, mainly during the talk with Lyanna at the Tower of Joy. I'm excited about finally able to return to the story so without further ado let's get to it.

Aemon the Dragonwolf

Chapter 5: The Kraken's Rebellion

Winterfell 289 AC

Ned stood on the balcony overlooking the courtyard watching Robb and Jon spar in the same spot his father Rickard used to stand watching Ned and his brothers spar when they were children. Seeing the boys at only six namedays sparring like they are now made him proud.

Ser Roderik and his brother Martyn were giving the boys pointers. Ser Roderick was Winterfell's Master-at-arms and Martyn was the Captain of the guard. Both of them were in charge of the Stark children's training while Martyn's son of six and ten name days, Jory, would occasionally help out. The Cassel brothers would sing praises to Ned about his heir Robb, but it was Jon who would get more, something that his wife wasn't happy about.

While Robb would pick up the tips and training that the Cassels would give him at an above average rate, Jon would pick it up almost instantly. It was like he was born with a sword in his hand.

When Ned looked over to Jon multiple thoughts would run through his head: pride, worry, sadness would be the main ones. He was proud of the boy Jon has become, but he was worried about what would happen when he not only told him about who he was, but also what would happen when he would reveal himself.

When Jon was younger he had the complete Stark look, dark brown and dark grey eyes. He looked so much like Lyanna that it hurt sometimes to look at him. Now though as he starts to get older his eyes have been getting slightly more Targaryen and his hair has gotten some silver mixed in with the dark brown. Ned knows that it's going to get even worse as he gets older.

"Promise me, Ned." He almost broke that promise due to Jon getting the Pox.

Ned was in his solar talking to his wife when Wylla burst through the door. Ned kept Wylla as one of his servants and charged her with taking care of Jon. Something the other servants tried to make fun of her about. Lady Catelyn hated her after she tried to keep her from taking care of him which she ignored and always responded with the orders of Lord Stark.

"My Lord, something is wrong with, Jon. He is very sick." The smile on the Lady's face did not go unnoticed. Lord Stark jumped up and told her to send for Maester Luwin before he rushed from the room to go to Jon's.

When Ned reached his nephew's room he threw open the door and knelt next to the bed and put his hand on Jon's. Jon's breath was ragged and sweat was pouring from his forehead. He made a quick prayer to the stranger to not take him.

Moments later Maester Luwin entered, holding a book on sicknesses, followed by Wylla. Luwin checked him over and opened the book immediately going to the page that had The Pox and read the symptoms matching young Jon's with the book's, all of which matched up.

"My Lord, it appears young Jon has The Pox." Ned's heart sank when Luwin told him those words. Most died from the disease, but to know that his nephew, the only thing he had left of his sister, may die from it. Jon, no Aemon, couldn't he was the god's chosen, the prince who was promised, he couldn't die from a simple disease.

"I will make remedies, My Lord."

For many days Ned didn't leave Jon's room. Robb tried multiple times to come into the room, not understanding why he couldn't see his brother and best friend, but a guard would always stop him.

Finally after a week it was his wife Lady Catelyn that made him leave the room and return to his duties. She told him she will stay with the boy and make sure that he would be ok. Ned was very unsure of leaving his wife with his supposed bastard. He knew she hated him.

Maester Luwin also got up to leave. "If he survives the night, he will live."

Catelyn saw her husband's hesitation. She knew he was worried she would harm him. But she was not that cruel. Catelyn reassured him that everything will be alright. When he came back a couple hours later he cracked open the door to see his wife sitting on the bed knitting a wheel.

He heard her speak. "Please all of the Seven, if this boy shall live I shall be a mother to him. I will treat him as my own son." Ned smiled a bit but wondered if she would actually keep her promise. If she did then he would tell her the truth, but if not then he felt she didn't deserve to know.

It turns out she didn't.

She was kind for a month but she returned how she treated him before. It caused Ned to sigh. He wanted to tell her. He knew she would treat him differently, but he wouldn't take the chance of the truth getting out.

He came out of his musing as the spar ended as Robb got impatient and went for a heavy diagonal strike which Jon spun under and hit Robb in the back of the legs. As Robb fell down Jon immediately put his wooden sword to his throat.

Jon helped Robb up as the heir of the North grumbled about always losing to Jon

"It's ok, brother, maybe next time." Jon said

"Yea, yea, yea, you get me every time." The red haired boy said back. "I don't get how you win all the time."

"It's not about strength, brother."

"He is right, Lord Robb." Ser Roderik said, "If a sharp blade slashes across your neck you are still dead."

"In battle, you don't have to overpower your opponent. Most times it's the one who put the strike in the right spot the fastest wins." Martyn said.

"I know, I just feel that since I'm stronger than Jon my best chance to defeat him is to try to overpower him."

"Just show more restraint and you will defeat me."

"Your right, Snow. I'll get you next time."

"You did good, Robb." Ned told his son as he walked up to the boys. "Jon, you continue to improve greatly. Robb, you do as well."

"Thank you, father." both Robb and Jon told him with smiles on their faces."

"Now go get cleaned up. We have dinner soon. Martyn, Ser Roderick may I speak to you both….alone" Ned started walking to his solar, with the Cassels in tow, after the boys left to go get cleaned up.

When they entered the Lord's solar he shut and locked the door before going to his chair.

"Lord Stark what is this about?" Martyn asked his lord.

Ned looked at the younger of the two and spoke. "You already know what this is about since you went with me south, Martyn. I feel it's right that I bring your brother in on the truth. I also need someone else that knows to help." Martyn looked surprised but nodded while his older brother just looked confused.

"The truth, Lord Stark? The truth of what?" The knight asked.

"The truth of Jon's mother. The truth of who he really is." Ned said solemnly like he didn't really want to say it.

"Jon? What do you mean who he really is?"

Ned took a deep sigh before he started speaking. "I am not really Jon's father, nor is he a bastard. His mother is my sister Lyanna and his father is Rhaegar Targaryen." Roderik went to speak before Ned silenced him and continued. "I, Robert, Lord Reed, Martyn, and even Prince Oberyn, after we met up with him, and our party found her at a tower in Dorne. She confessed that she was never kidnapped or raped. She went with him willingly and married him at the Isle of Faces. She did not die of a fever like we said but of childbirth, giving birth to her son."

Roderick stood stunned for a minute before he had the ability to speak. "Jon…..he is Lyanna's son?" Ned nodded "So, the rebellion was a lie."

Lord Stark shook his head. "Aerys burned my father and forced my brother to strangle himself. He then called for my and Robert's heads. That part is true. But the part about Lyanna being kidnapped is not."

Ser Roderik started laughing, "Well that makes sense on why he is such a fast learner with a sword. I heard Rhaegar was a very good swordsman and loved to learn but to be Lyanna's son….it's no wonder he's a fighter."

Martyn started to laugh also. "Aye, he would pull on Robert's beard when he would hold him on the way back to King's Landing. It was Prince Oberyn though that Jon took to the most until he split off to go back to Sunspear."

"Why would Prince Oberyn be there? Wouldn't he hate Jon for what happened to his sister?"

"I guess Elia sent her brothers a letter before she died. We actually have him to thank for us finding my sister."

"Aye, and strangely enough he and Howland had become good friends. Howland even invited 'im to Greywater Watch." Martyn said

Ser Roderick just shook his head and asked his Lord, "So what is to happen to the boy is he going to live his whole life as a bastard?"

"No, when he is old enough Robert wanted him to foster in King's Landing and train under Ser Arthur and the rest of the Kingsguard."

"Being trained by me and my brother is nothing compared to some of the greatest knights to ever live." Ser Roderick said.

"Aye then when he completes his training there he will go to Sunspear to foster with the Martells."

"So what of the Lady my lord? By the way she treats him I'm guessing you haven't told her."

"My wife runs off of emotion. Even if the King knows and wants to help there are still people that would harm him if they found out his real identity. I fear my wife would reveal it, even accidentally, if she had the chance." Lord Stark told them

"I'd agree, My Lord." Martyn said. "But I also believe that she only hates him because she feels he is a shame upon herself. If she found out you never shamed her and fathered a bastard than she would think differently."

"Perhaps you are right, Martyn."

The three continued to talk for a bit longer before they left to go to bed.

Lannisport 289 AC

At the break of dawn a group of about 50 ships of the Iron Fleet entered the bay of Lannisport. It was Victarian Greyjoy sailing the flagship who threw the first torch. Before the men of the West knew what happened all thirty of their ships were destroyed without a single loss from the Iron Fleet.

Lord Tywin Lannister rallied his men to defend the port but the Iron Fleet did not attack on land, instead retreating back to the Iron Islands. When he realized that the Ironborn wouldn't attack anymore he immediately went back to Casterly Rock to write a Letter to the King.

King's Landing 289 AC

The King was eating dinner with his family. At the table was his Queen, the beautiful Cersei, his five name day son and heir, his three name day old daughter, and his youngest son of two name days, his younger brothers Stannis and Renly, and his brother-by-law/Kingsguard Jaime Lannister, who was off duty today.

His first son was full Baratheon. He named him Stephan, after his father. He had Black Hair and Blue eyes like all other Baratheon, and he could tell that he'd be a warrior. Shortly after his firstborn was born his wife became pregnant again. He found that it was to be another son. His wife was to name him Joffrey. But he was a stillborn. His only son that would have been born with blonde hair.

While his queen was saddened by the loss she wanted to be with child again so after a couple of months she became pregnant again with his daughter had blonde hair and blue eyes. He knew she would be a beauty, loved among all of westeros. Hell let his wife name her, which she chose, Myrcella.

He thought of Lyanna's son; he is only three name days older than her. Perhaps a marriage arrangement could be made. Not only for the fact it would tie him to the new crown, but also if the boy took the throne then his blood would still sit the throne. He would wait until he gauged the boy though. Robert knew he would not put his daughter through what Lyanna went though.

His youngest looked full Baratheon again with the black hair and blue eyes. Robert knew his youngest would be a warrior also. He again let Cersei name him, to which she chose Tommen.

Robert was pulled out of his musing when Pycelle burst through the door waving a letter in the air.

"Your Grace, A letter for you from Lord Tywin."

Robert took the letter, opened and read it before he slammed his fist on the table. "Balon Greyjoy has declared himself King of the Iron Islands. The damned Squids have attacked the Westerland Fleet and destroyed all thirty of their ships."

"What! Robert, my love, they attacked my father and insulted us. We need to show the squids their place."

Robert looked to his brother, "Stannis, get Ser Davos and ready the crown fleet. Ser Davos is a good Master of Ships and a great sailor but he is not a military commander, you are. I want you to lead the ships against the Iron Fleet."

"Aye, brother." Stannis said before he left immediately.

"Ser Gerold," The King said to his Lord Commander who was standing guard at the door. The White Bull walked over to him and bowed. "Your Grace."

"Gather the entire Kingsguard. I will march to war and I need to decide who will march with me and who will stay and guard my family." The old knight left to gather his brothers.

"Let me go with you, Your Grace." Ser Jaime said. "It was my home that was attacked. I wish to fight the Ironborn as much as you."

"Very well, Ser Jaime." the King nodded. "Pycelle go get Lord Arryn have him send ravens to Riverrun, the rest of the Vale, and Highgarden."

"Your Grace, not the North, Dorne or the Stormlands?"

"Stannis is the Lord of the Stormlands, he will deal with them. As for the North and Dorne, I will write the letters myself."

Seagard 289 AC

Lord Jason Mallister stood atop the wall overlooking the harbor where a large group of Greyjoy ships were heading toward them.

"Men, get to the docks now! Bring every able bodied man with you. This is not a drill! The squids attack. Ring the Bells!" Lord Mallister yelled to his men.

Women and children were running to their houses and tried to barricade their doors with tables and other furniture. Soldiers ran to the docks fully armored, ready, and willing to fight for their home and their families. Seeing the men and the determination they all had on their faces made him both proud and more determined himself.

When the Ironborn Landed it was chaos, though his men not only had the advantage with defending but also the determination to protect their homes.

"Keep fighting! We will drive them back!" the Lord of Seagard yelled. After an hour of fighting Lord Mallister came face to face with Roderik Greyjoy, the heir of Balon Greyjoy. Lord Mallister saw his opportunity to end this with a swing of his sword.

"Squid!" Mallister yelled, "Fight me!"

Roderik charged the Lord of Seagard without answering, hoping to catch him by surprise. Unfortunately for the Kraken, Lord Mallister was ready for it. The Eagle blocked the axe of the younger man and pushed it back before he followed it up with an elbow to the face. Roderik got angry and tried to swing a heavy downward strike. Jason stepped to the side and easily deflected the axe which he followed up with putting his sword hilt deep in the stomach in the Greyjoy heir. The squid fell to his knees only to be slashed across the neck by Lord Mallister.

The Ironborn started to retreat back to their ships once they saw their leader fall, only to be chased down by the men of Seagard.

"We did it men! Take care of the wounded and make sure all the people are ok. We need to prepare for another attack." Lord Mallister told his men. Those not injured helped their fellow soldiers while others went to the houses and stores to help the people.

Mallister turned to the captain of his guard, Ser Willem Dunhan "I need to go write to Lord Tully and to the King."

"Aye, my lord. I will handle it from here." Ser Willem said.

Winterfell 289 AC

"Lord Stark, you have a message from the King." Luwin said as he walked into the Lord's Solar and handed the letter to Ned. Lord Stark opened the letter to read whatever it was from the King. Thinking it was about his nephew he started to read.

Ned,

I'm sure you are thinking this is a bout a different topic, but I'm writing to you to tell you that Balon Greyjoy has claimed himself the King of the Iron Islands. He has attacked Tywin's fleet. I need you by my side once again, Ned.

King Robert Baratheon

"Maester Luwin, call the banners."

"Lord Stark?" The Maester asked.

"The Ironborn have rebelled. The King calls the realm to arms. I will start marching south, have the Lords meet me at Moat Cailin."

"I'll start drafting the letters, my lord."

Two days later the people of Winterfell were lined up to see their lord and men going with him off to war. Martyn Cassel was one of the ones going with him. His only remaining son Jory kept begging him to come, which he kept telling him no.

Lady Stark was at the front holding their young babe Arya. Robb and Sansa standing in front of her and Jon, though his wife wasn't happy about it, was standing next to Robb. He kissed his wife and bent down to little Arya and kissed her head causing her to giggle. Ned knelt down to his children.

"Sansa, know that I love you."

"I wuv you, papa." his three nameday old daughter said as she gave him a hug. He looked to his his son.

"You take care of your mother and sisters, Robb." Ned said

"I will, father," his heir answered.

Ned turned to look at his nephew, though everyone believed he was his bastard. "Keep Robb out of trouble, and continue in your lessons. Perhaps when I return we will speak of your mother." Ned rarely called him Jon, feeling like he was lying to him everytime he called him by his fake name. When he said the last part he could see the boy's eyes light up. The Lilac showed more when he did that.

His nephew just nodded in response, but with a smile on his face. What he didn't notice was the scowl on his wife's face when he spoke of Jon's mother. Ned got up and looked at his wife and gave her another kiss.

"Come back to me, Ned." Cat said to her husband.

"I promise, my lady." He said before he started to walk away with his men.

Sunspear 289 AC

Oberyn was having dinner with his family. All of them were there except Quentin, who was being fostered in Yronwood. Even his one and three name day old squire Daemon Sand was eating with them when Maester Caleotte came in with a scroll. He handed it to Doran.

"A letter from the King, My Lord." The Maester said then left the room. Doran took the letter and read the contents before he handed the letter to his brother. Oberyn took the letter and read it while his paramour, Ellaria, watched him.

Doran and Oberyn Martell,

Balon Greyjoy has declared himself King of the Iron Islands and has attacked Lannisport and, from rumors I've heard, Seagard as well. I ask that you assist me in this fight against the squids. I have most of the realm with me but a showing of Dornish support will help. Perhaps when it is over we make a journey to the North to see Winterfell.

King Robert Baratheon

"So the Greyjoys have rebelled, and the King asked that we help."

"Yes, I leave the decision up to you, brother." Doran said. Oberyn looked to Ellaria and his Children.

"I will go. We do not need to take all of Dorne. Perhaps just Martell men."

"You are going off to war?" Ellaria asked him.

"The King asked for Martell help, so I shall lead the men to aid." Oberyn replied to his paramour.

"Someone else can lead. After what happened to your sister you'd still fight for Robert Baratheon."

"What happened to our sister is no one's fault but Aerys Targaryen, Tywin Lannister, and Gregor Clegane. Robert Baratheon personally told me the truth of what happened when I met him and Eddard Stark after the rebellion." Ellaria kept quiet knowing he was right since he told her a little of what happened to his sister.

"Speaking of Lord Stark….The King spoke about visiting Winterfell."

"Aye, I'd like to see my young nephew. The spies said he and Lord Stark's heir have started training."

"What do you mean nephew, Uncle?" Arrianne said

It was Doran that spoke. "What we are about to speak on is not to leave this room." Doran eyed his family around the table. "Do I understand? I mean no one but a Martell, even the Maester, are to know."

Everyone but Oberyn nodded. "What if I told you that what most people know of the rebellion is a lie. Rhaegar took Lyanna Stark as a second wife alongside Elia, which she agreed and encouraged him too," they all sat silent not speaking. The children heard of events of the rebellion but not of everything.

"Elia was killed by Gregor Clegane during the rebellion when Lannister men sacked King's Landing. Robert Baratheon and Eddard Stark had nothing to do with it."

Oberyn continued where his brother left off. "Before she died, Elia sent us a letter of the truth and considered Lyanna and her future child as her family. And asked us to help her since Rhegar died at the Trident." Obara went to speak before her father cut her off.

"We got word on her location so when I was on my way there we met with the King and Lord Stark, who were at a deadend, in Wyl. After I found out their intention and the full truth of what happened. I along with the King and his men went to the Tower of Joy to find Lyanna."

"Lyanna died in childbirth but before she died I agreed that after he fosters in King's Landing with the Kingsguard he will come to Dorne and foster with us. Elia considered him her Goodson so he is my Goodnephew. He is part of the Martell's even without the blood."

"Uncle, but what about the King. If Rhaegar's son lives, wouldn't he kill him for he is the rightful heir." Arienne asked.

"Robert Baratheon told me that before he killed Rhaegar he made him a promise to protect his family, including Elia and her children. But Tywin Lannister and his men got to King's Landing first. They are to blame for Elia's death." Oberyn answered his niece.

"Robert will call him Prince just as we are called and name him Lord of Dragonstone." Doran added. "The care he has for Lyanna also helped his decision."

"Didn't Robert marry a Lannister?" Nymeria asked

"He had no choice. He promised us vengeance one day against The Mountain, though." Her father answered. his

"So where is our Goodcousin"? Tynene asked. She was the more rational of his daughters.

"He is being hidden." Doran said to her. "Hidden as Lord Stark's bastard son." That got the Sand Snakes and Ellaria more interested, since they were bastards.

"If you go to war I will go with you father." Obara said as she stood up. His other daughters, not by Ellaria, stood up and agreed.

"Obara I will accept you by my side. Nymeria, Tyene, and Sharella, you may accompany me but you will not fight in the war."

"I will go as well, my love." Ellaria said to both his annoyment of her being in danger and the love of her willing to go anywhere with him.

"Very well, I'll go ready the men." Oberyn said as he left the room.

Straits of Fair Isle 289 AC

After the burning of the fleet in Lannisport Victarion led the Iron Fleet north into the Strait of Fair Isle. His plan was to ambush the Royal fleet as they made their way to Pyke. What he didn't plan for was the fact that Lord Stannis had gotten word of their location beforehand.

What he thought was the Royal Fleet passing Fair Isle was only half of the ships. The Ironborn made their way to ambush the Crown's ships when another group hit them from the south. When the Squids turned to engage the ships the fleet that passed came around the North of the Isle and boxed them in, destroying almost all of the ships including Victarion's as well.

Pyke 289 AC

The forces of the Iron Throne stood outside of the southern wall of Pyke, the great seat of the Ironborn. Forces combined from all the seven kingdoms stood ready to storm the wall once it is breached. At the front stood the King, flanked Ser Arthur Dayne, Ser Jaime Lannister, Ser Barristan Selmy. With him was prince Oberyn Martell, along with his daughter Obara, Lord Yohn Royce, Lord Jason Mallister, and his brother by choice, Lord Eddard Stark.

The King looked to the men. "Let us show those Squids what happens when they mess with us Greenlanders!" Cheers could be heard from the royal army. As soon as they were done, the catapults they had made flung giant rocks at the wall, decimating it.

"To victory!" The King yelled.

"To Victory!" the army behind him echoed. As they all charged forward.

The first one through was a northern Knight by the name of Jorah was followed by Thoros of Myr and Obara Sand. Oberyn, who was trying to stay close to his daughter followed closely behind, but even he was having a hard time keeping up with her.

"Obara, don't get too far ahead!" Oberyn yelled. Before landing a spear into an ironborn. Another went to slash at him, before he dodged out of the way and hit another other with his shield. Only to pierce him with his spear. He pulled it out and turned to the other opponent and stabbed him as well.

Obara was doing great fighting opponent after opponent until she reached a standstill with the Flame Knight and the Northern Knight. All Three of them fought off the opponents until reinforcements could arrive.

Obara saw a man with a helm that resembled a hog with tusks. She figured this was another Greyjoy. She was right, it was Marlon Greyjon, the second son of Balon and the, now heir to the Iron Islands after Rodericks death. Before she was able to make a move on him she saw the tower above him collapse and fell on top of him. There was no way of him surviving.

The King moved ahead, with The Bold and the King Slayer following him. All of them took out at least a dozen before they were able to catch their bearings. "Keep moving!" the Stag King yelled.

"Lord Stark, followed by many of his loyal Lords, did tremendous damage to the IronBorn. Killing dozens of them at a time.

The Royal Army soon was able to move into the inner part of the castle including the throne room which housed Balon Greyjoy, the Soldiers beat down the doors of the throne room the King Followed.

"Balon!" The King laughed and his men forced the squild to his knees." You have lost."

"The dead may never die, Robert. The Ironborn does not fear death" Greyjoy laughed from his knees"

The King lunged but was stopped by Lord Stark. "He is defeated, Your Grace." Ned said to his friend. Let him swear his allegiance. Lets be done with this bloodshed."

"Damn you and your honor, Ned." The King exclaimed to his friend. "Very well, have the wounded tended to and we will have counsel to see what to do with the ironborn and with our own men." He added.

"Of course, My King." Lord Stark replied. Leaving before the King could tell him off for being formal with him.

An hour later the King along with many of the Lords who joined him on Pyke including, Lord Stannis Baratheon, Lord Eddard Stark, Prince Oberyn Martell, Lord Tywin Lannister, Lord Jon Arryn, Lord Hoster Tully, and various other Lords.

"Bring in Greyjoy and his children." Robert said. To which the self imposed King of the Iron Islands, Balon Greyjoy and his two remaining children Asha and Theon, were brought before him in chains. The guards pushed them to their knees.

"Well….well...well...if it isn't the great king of the squids." Robert laughed, much to the amusement of the others present. "You...Balon Greyjoy have attacked both Lannisport and Seagaurd. You are accused of rebelling against the crown. Give me a reason why I should not sentence you to death and end your line now."

Asha and Theon both trembled in fear while their father just ground his teeth, but he didn't say anything.

"I will take my death like a man. The Drowned God will save me. The dead may never die." The Ironborn exclaimed with his head held high.

"And what of your children?" Lord Stark asked. "Would you see them dead for your pride?"

"Better to die a true Ironborn then to serve a stag." He replied which made many of the lords shocked that he was willing to let his only children die because he was a fool and too prideful to kneel.

"Your Grace, forcing him to kneel would be far worse to him than executing him." Lord Stark said to his brother by choice.

"I agree, Your Grace." The Prince of Dorne spoke up from his side. "Plus the children should not be punished for their fathers actions." Oberyn said while glaring at Tywin while remembering Elia and her children. Ned and Robert knew what he was speaking of and also glared at the Lord of the Westerlands.

Robert turned back to Balon and spoke. "You have two choices, Greyjoy. You Kneel and swear to me, and I will spare your pathetic islands and your people. Or you and all of your people die."

Balon sneered but stayed silent for a moment. While he wasn't happy about it, he realized what he must do, swallow his pride or be the one to have the Ironborn destroyed. The king of the Iron Islands dropped his head and swore his fealty, though he spoke very softly.

"I can't hear you!"

""I, Balon Greyjoy, Lord of the Iron Islands, swear fealty to Robert Baratheon, first of his name, the King of the Seven Kingdoms." Balon said a bit louder while looking the King in his eyes.

"Was that so hard, Greyjoy?" Robert asked.

"Your grace, it would be best to, perhaps, take a hostage in order to force Lord Greyjoy to keep his words of fealty." Lord Arryn said.

"Yes, I'd say his only remaining son would be best." Prince Oberyn said. "Maybe give him to Lord Stark. There is no one better to teach a greyjoy honor and humbleness than him." Ned looked Oberyn annoyed. Not really wanting to take the boy in with his family, but also knowing he is right.

"Great idea, Oberyn. Ned, what do you think."

"If that is your wish then I will take the boy as my ward." the Lord of the North replied to his friend.

"Good. You boy! Come here!" Robert yelled to the young Greyjoy heir. The boy tentatively stepped forward. "What is your name?"

"Th….The…...Theon, Your Grace." The young boy sputtered out. You could tell he was scared. The king, remembering what Oberyn said, smiled and spoke softly "you will be going to Winterfell with Lord Stark here. He's a good man." The Greyjoy heir was too afraid to speak so he just nodded.

After the Greyjoys left the King moved on to other matters. "Bring forward the Red Priest." Thoros of Myr stepped forward, though you could tell a bit drunkenly. "Thoros of Myr, was it? You have fought exceptionally, and were one of the first three to cross the walls when they came down. I offer you a knightship."

"Forgive me my King but I am a Priest of the Lord of Light and am unable to be a knight." Thoros said.

"Well i wish to offer you a reward. Perhaps a thousand Gold Dragons?"

"Aye, I will accept that."

"Good. Now bring me….what was his name, Ned?" The King asked his friend.

"Jorah Mormont, Lord of Bear Island."

"Aye, Lord Jorah Mormont step forward." A bear of a man, that you could tell came from the harsh lands of the north, came forward. "Jorah Mormont, I offer you a knightship. Do you accept?"

"Aye, Your Grace." Lord Mormont said.

"Then kneel" the King told the man before he asked Ser Barristan for a sword. He tapped the kneeling man on the shoulders and spoke, "In the name of the Warrior I charge you to be brave. In the name of the Father I charge you to be just. In the name of the Mother I charge you to defend the young and the innocent. In the name of the Maid I charge you to protect all women. Be wise in the name of the Crone, sturdy in the name of the Smith, and Respect the Stranger."

The king finished the knighting and had not newly knighted Lord Jorah Mormont stood. The King patted him on the shoulder and all the northmen cheered.

"Next is Obara Sand, eldest daughter of Prince Oberyn Martell." Robert yelled much to the surprise of both Obara and her father. She stepped forward. Her sisters and Ellaria watching in the background.

"Obara Sand, every inch the daughter of the Red Viper himself. From what I saw during the battle perhaps the only one that could come close to him while wielding a spear."

"Thank you, Your Grace." Obara said shyly as she blushed, which was a first.

"You were one of the three who made it through the gates and killed quite a few Ironborn before the rest of the men therefore I offer you with a reward." The King told her. "I offer to legitimize you." Oberyn looked stunned but also proud as did her sisters and Ellaria.

Obara looked down for a couple of seconds before she looked up and spoke. "Your Grace, while you honor me with the offer and while I would love to be legitimized. I feel it would be unfair to my sisters if i were to be and not them. Therefore I cannot accept the offer, Your Grace."

Her Father looked proud. The King and Lord Stark, along many of the northern lords and some other lords she doesn't know, looked at her with respect. The other lords looked at her with disdain. Like how dare she,a bastard, have the gall to refuse such a great gift from the king.

Robert started chuckling. "First, I'd say you got some balls on you girl to refuse an offer like that from your king, but you are Oberyn's daughter so I'd expect nothing less." he said before laughing. "Secondly I truly admire your closeness to your sisters. Thinking of them before yourself." He said, giving her a nod. "Oberyn, my friend, how many daughters do you have?"

"My eldest four are by various women but my youngest two are by my wonderful paramour." he said lovingly.

"Paramour? Why have you not married her if she has given you two children?" Jon Arryn asks him.

"Her name is Ellaria Sand and not Legitimized therefore my brother won't let me marry her." The Viper replies.

Ned clears his throat while looking at Robert. The king looked back at him understanding what it was he wanted him to do before nodding.

"Very well, Jon write up the documents for the legitimization of Ellaria Sand and all of Prince Oberyn's daughters along with a letter to Doran of the King's approval of the marriage of Oberyn Martell and Ellaria."

Oberyn, his daughters, his Paramour, and many of the Dornishman, were shocked. But they have gained a newfound respect for the king. Though most of them saw it was Lord Stark's Idea.

"Now let's eat. I'm starving!" Robert yelled.

Finally done. Please forgive me for the very long update. But I'm back now. I can't say how fast updates will go but I will make them as fast as I can. One thing i'm sure you have noticed is that Joffrey is dead. In canon Roberts and Cersei's first born is a stillborn so Cersei has Joffrey from Jaime. Well i've decided that their firstborn lives so the second born that they would have had which yes would have been Roberts that they named Jorffrey was the stillborn. This way I don't have to try and write Joffrey as nice or good. Don't think I can do that.
