A seven year old Harry Potter stood outside his primary school looking at the car taking his cousin Dudley home leaving him to his normal walk to his relatives in the chilly rain. Yet again he'd accidentally done the unthinkable and outscored his cousin on a test when that was combined with this being a Friday he knew there was a beating awaiting him when he returned to the Dursleys. Standing there getting soaked his classmates continued to make fun of his lack of proper clothes while also teasing him about being dumb enough to forget his rain gear, not that he had any despite his cousin's rain gear being the best in school. All of this was normal what wasn't normal was his mental state.

Normally he had a stoic resolve to get through everything with his focus solely on making it to secondary school. Dudley going off to Smeltings like his father was already being discussed in the household as was Harry's attending Stonewall High the local secondary school. However today was different. It was two weeks after Christmas and while Dudley had been buried under presents as normal he had received nothing even being forbidden from eating that day. When combined with the abuse of his classmates it led him to despair of ever escaping the pain and torment of living in Little Whinging. Actually he thought it was the pain and torment of just living. His parents were dead and if just the little bit of church teaching he'd picked up from his relatives returning after their Christmas and Easter visits to church were true there was life after death and he'd be reunited with his parents. With the cold rain running down his face, coating his glasses and soaking him to the bone Harry reached a decision and instead of turning to his left and making his way to 4 Privet Drive he turned right heading to the main road passing through Little Whinging.

Standing on the curb he realized with the speed limit at 48 KPH he'd need to insure the driver didn't have enough time to hit the breaks and the bigger the vehicle the better. As he stood at the side of the road he spotted an articulated lorry approaching moving a bit faster than the other traffic had been. Thinking his unvoiced plea had been answered by whatever god there was he took the opportunity presented and at the last moment stepped in front of the approaching lorry.

The Driver noticed the totally soaked boy at the side of the road and as he was stationary put it out of his mind. Suddenly the boy stepped into his path and despite his slamming on his brakes naturally the car behind him smashed into his rear end and the driver was making his way up to yell at him just as he was getting out of his cab first aid kit in hand to check on the boy he'd hit.

"You stupid ass I've smashed up my car because you can't drive!" The driver from the car following him said rapidly approaching him.

"Shut up and go call the police I've just hit a young boy who stepped out in front of me. He's laying right there and I don't need your crap right now."

The car driver took one look at the boy laying in the road and promptly lost the contents of his stomach over the road luckily far enough away from the boy that it wouldn't be a bother. Once he was done heaving he headed off to a nearby house to have them make the call.

Harry was drifting he remembered this feeling from the times his uncle had hit him hard enough to knock him unconscious. Today there'd been a lot of pain at first but now there was nothing but this relaxed stated.

"Oh my lovely boy what have you done?" "Mum?"

"Yes, Harry," a woman said appearing before him.

"It worked! I'm so happy to see you is Dad around?"

"He'll be along shortly. He's a bit put out at what you did but we understand you felt it was the only way to end the torment," His mum said embracing him.

Harry wished with all his heart he'd avoided flinching when she put her arms around him but the fear of what would happen next was ingrained. "Don't worry Harry your father and I will never hurt you we love you. Unlike that sister of mine and her family."

"You saw?" A now embarrassed and scared Harry asked.

"Only bits and pieces son," a man with hair like his said approaching the two of them.

"Dad?" Harry asked hesitantly.

"Yes, Harry I'm your father." He said joining in the hug.

Harry stood and cried for what felt like hours in the arms of his parents before gathering up the courage to step back a bit asking, "It's stupid I know but can you tell me your names?"

Harry watched the anger arise in his parents. Their faces were betraying it to one who'd been trained for years to watch for any clues to his relatives mental state. He was taking a few more steps back to be out of arms reach when his mother broke down in tears saying, "That… that cow! Not even tell you our names," his mother replied forcing herself to edit her words for the first time in roughly 6 years.

"I'm James Henry Potter and your mother is Lily Rose Potter ne Evans. Did they at least tell you how we died?" "I was told you two died driving drunk and that's where I got this scar," Harry said neutrally.

"That useless…," James started only to stop at the look on his son's face.

A deep breath later he said. "Your mother and I were killed by an evil man who wanted to wipe out the Potter family. He killed me then your mother who died protecting you. When he then tried to kill you your mother's protection kicked in and saved you. That scar that was on your head isn't just a random scar. It's the remnants of a string of protection runes we placed on you."

"If they didn't tell him our names or how we died I'm sure they didn't tell him about magic either," Lily said.

"Uncle Vernon says there is no such thing as magic," Harry said speaking up.

"Oh my son how wrong he is. Let me tell you about our family," James said starting off Harry's introduction to the magical world.

What felt like days later Harry looked to his parents smiling at being around them but with a bit of confusion added in. "Why are you telling me about the wizarding world? I'm dead," He said firmly.

"Actually you are just in the waiting area. Your body is still alive though barely."

"What do I need to do to fully die?"

"Son why do you want to die?" His father asked sorrow weighing down on him at the thought his only child was so willing to die.

"So I can join you. You said you've seen bits and pieces of my life. I stepped in front of that lorry in the hope that I would be able to join you both. I don't want to live it hurts too much."

Lily and James were looking at each other when a voice entered the room, "Young Potter, while I understand the suffering you have experienced it is nothing compared to what your future bride will experience should you die. It is for her sake you will be sent back to the living when your time with your parents is up. Lily, James, please do your best in the time you have left to give my namesake the grounding and guidance He will need in the future. Though James it would be in young Henry's best interest he not possess your hero worship of a certain man that led to both your deaths."

"Yes, grandfather." James said.

"Was that my Grandfather?" Harry asked.

"Actually that was my Grandfather and he is your Great Grandfather."

"And he was right James. Harry does not need your tendency to hero worship individuals." Lily said speaking up.

"But he called me Henry?" A confused Harry said.

"Your real name is Henry James Potter. Everyone knows you as Harry James Potter. We did that to protect you any binding documents you sign you will need to use Henry James Potter but for all others and for oaths that you don't want to be locked into you will use Harry James Potter. It's all in the family Grimoire which you will need to read," his father said.

Back in the real world the lorry driver was doing his best to stop the bleeding but given the amount of blood seeping out from the back of the boy's head combined with the amount he was managing to carefully wipe off the boy's forehead where it had been torn up by the truck's honeycomb grill. He was sure he was looking at a fatality when he noticed a black liquid appear amongst the blood. Reaching for another sterile pad he didn't notice a dark mist emerge from the boy's forehead before evaporating away.

The police showed up with the ambulance and he knew from discussions around the truck stop what was going to happen to him. He was quick to comply with anything the officers requested while the boy was rushed off to the local A/C. Once that was done the lorry driver was cuffed and stuffed into the back of a police car. He was promptly taken to the local Hospital where his blood was drawn for alcohol and drug testing before he was moved to the local jail for the time being. He took comfort in knowing He'd be released when the tests all came back negative.

Tow trucks took the car and artic away clearing the road while the blood was washed off to the road side.

At the local A/C things were in full life saving mode. "Cracked skull front and back, massive bruising in the chest area, both legs appear broken and the right arm is broken in several places," the ambulance crew called out as they wheeled the boy into the treatment area.

They quickly moved out of the way as nurses rushed over followed by the attending doctors. Everyone's opinion was how is this boy still alive though no one mentioned it focusing on their training doing their best to keep him alive just that bit longer. Knowing every minute they kept him going increased the odds the boy would be alive tomorrow.

An assistant rushed over to the ambulance crew clipboard in hand to get the information she could for her paperwork.

"He was hit by an articulated lorry and from what the driver said this boy just walked out in front of him at the last instant. The driver said it was like the boy wanted to be hit. We found this backpack laying on the side of the road and as it appeared to be his we brought it along. Hopefully there's something in there that will allow you to contact his family."

"Thanks, I'll take that and see what I can find," the assistant said heading towards her desk with the soggy pack. Ten minutes later she had a name off one of the school papers within but nothing more.

Twenty minutes later with the boy stabilized one of the doctors moved over to the Assistant's desk asking, "Do you have a name for our Joe Bloggs?"

"I've got a name but that's it. Harry Potter. I've checked the phone book but there is no family in the area named Potter."

A nurse who'd walked over to get a drink before going back to work on cleaning up the boy spoke up asking, "Did you say Harry Potter?"

As the attention turned to her the assistant replied, "Yes, Harry Potter do you know him?"

"No but my son was telling me about this boy who comes to school in oversized clothes like this boy was wearing named Harry. Said he was a loaner who didn't hang out with anyone just showed up alone and left alone. My son said there was a rumor the class bully was related to him in some way."

"Your son attends Little Whinging primary doesn't he?" The Assistant asked.

"Yes, but I doubt there is someone still at the office at this time of day," The nurse replied.

"Not a problem I'll just pass it off to the police. They'll get an address if it can be found."

It was after dinner when an officer knocked on the door at 4 Privet Drive. It was opened by a severely overweight boy who asked, "What do you want?"

"Are either of your parents at home?"

"Right," the boy said slamming the door shut.

It was re-opened a minute later by a man whose girth matched if not exceeded his height. "What do you want?"

"Are you the guardian's of one Harry Potter?"

"What did the delinquent do now?" The man asked obviously not happy at being bothered.

"There's been an accident. You need to go to Greater Whinging hospital," The officer stated.

"I take it he's alive then?"

"The last message was he was barely clinging to life."

"Right, We'll check on him sometime tomorrow then," The man replied slamming the door shut again.

Back in the car the officer jotted a few notes down as his partner watched. "Are they heading over?" His partner asked as he finished up.

"No, just before the door was slammed in my face I was told they'd check on him sometime tomorrow."

"What! Did you tell them he might not make it?"

"Yes, I had the impression they'd been happier if I'd told them he'd died. That's why the notes. There is something really wrong in that household," The officer replied as they drove off.

Saturday morning Petunia Dursley looked at her husband asking, "Can you drive me over to Greater Whinging Hospital?"

"Why?"

"If you're waiting in the car I have a reason to make a very short visit,"

Seeing the logic in that he added, "I need to be home for the Manchester match."

"Good that gives me an extra reason to leave. I'll also say I need to do a bit of shopping," Petunia replied.

Later that morning at Greater Whinging Hospital the nurse looked at Petunia's identification before saying, "Thank you we are required to check before releasing medical information. Young Mr. Potter is in bad shape. Both his legs are broken as is his right arm. He also has multiple head fractures and internal organ damage. He is still in a coma and shows no signs of waking up. It would be helpful if your family and his friends could visit and talk to him. Research has shown doing so will stimulate his mind helping him regain consciousness sooner."

Petunia was about to snap 'the freak has no friends' but caught herself in time replying instead, "I'm sorry I'm afraid his friends might be too traumatized to speak to him. I know my Dudleykins would be put off dealing with his cousin like this and I'm far too busy to stop by just to talk at that. Perhaps you might supply him with a radio that might work better than you having to put up with the blather of young children anyway," She said motioning to where Harry laid in multiple casts with tubes in all visible orifices.

"Now I must be going my husband is waiting for me and I have some shopping that needs doing. Do let us know if he dies," Petunia said heading for the door.

"How do we contact you?" The nurse inquired aghast at the insensitivity of this woman.

"Oh we're in the phone book, Vernon Dursley," Petunia said over her shoulder as she left.

Back in the car Petunia said, "It's a good thing you didn't come in. According to the nurse there's a strong chance he may not make it and I'm not sure you're up to keeping a smile off your face should they tell you that."

"You know me Pet though I'm sure I could manage. I am in sales after all," Vernon replied with a chuckle.

In the hospital the nurse was quick to add Petunia's comments to the notes on Harry's chart. All the while shaking her head in disgust at the woman's actions.

"Harry it's time for you to leave us," James Potter said.

"But I'm having such a good time here. This is what I walked in front of that Lorry for," Harry said. It felt like he'd spent years just talking with his parents.

"Harry, we got to spend a lot of time with you but you know this had to end. Your great grandfather gave you the reasons you need to go back," Lily countered.

Sounding every inch the petulant child Harry replied, "I know but still."

"We will be here waiting for you after you've lived a long and productive life. Mentally You're in a far better place than when you came here. You know about magic and what you need to do once you're healthy. Just make sure those Dursley's pay for their crimes."

"I will Dad. I love you and mum," Harry said steeling himself for what awaited him back in his own body.

Pain was the first thing Harry noticed as he returned to his body. "Damn I really did a number on myself," He thought. "Best let them know I'm awake maybe they can give me something for the pain," he was surprised he had to force his eyes open even then they didn't open to more than slits.

His exertion had his heart rate increase. That set off an alarm which had two nurses rushing to his bed as one was checking him over the other noticed his eyes were now open to slits. "Back with us Mr. Potter? Can you blink if you understand me," She asked.

A slow blink later the nurse continued, "Okay one blink for yes two for no. Are you in pain?" A single blink followed.

"I will notify the Doctors. Do you know what happened to you?" Another single blink.

"That's good news now you need to rest and heal. Your legs and right arm are in casts so you can't move them we have your left arm strapped down to prevent you from trying to remove the various tubes going into you that are keeping you alive. Now can you tap the fingers on your left hand?" Seeing movement she smiled. "Good we can communicate better that way."

"I'll start listing the alphabet and you tap a finger when I get to the right letter okay?" A slow blink followed.

She started stopping soon when he tapped on "E" the second letter took a bit longer as she made her way to "Y".

"Ey" she thought for a moment then asked, "Are you asking about your eyes?" Yet another blink this time a bit faster.

"You managed to break a few bones in your forehead and that cast comes down rather low combined with the swelling over your entire face you won't be able to open your eyes fully for a while yet."

Harry closed his eyes and tried to relax and rest despite the constant pain just that bit of interaction had depleted his energy.

At Hogwarts Dumbledore was in a panic, He'd entered his office this morning and for the first time in a while looked close at the little silver devices monitoring Harry Potter. He was shocked when they showed him to be close to death. He'd constantly had to raise their alarm settings before turning that function off entirely a few years back. Now he realized that had been a mistake. Still he had to put in an appearance at breakfast.

Mere minutes after sitting down Dumbledore was back on his feet headings out the Professors entrance his hurried breakfast sitting uneasy as he rushed to his office and a phoenix assisted flight to what turned out to be Greater Whinging Hospital. Naturally when he arrived he disrupted the electronics in the intensive care room bringing nurses and doctors to the room requiring him to memory charm all of them.

He was wondering why Fawkes had brought him here instead of Privet drive when he realize the body hidden beneath the casts and bandages was Harry Potter. Astonished he attempted to confirm the identity by casting a charm to verify the Horcrux was present a negative result had him casting another charm to determine the magical level of the body before him. When it returned a value of 16 instead of the expected 67 he was about to dismiss the possibility of this being Harry Potter until he read one of the nurse's mind confirming it was indeed Harry Potter laying in this bed. Knowing there was little magic could do for someone's whose magical index registered just points above muggle level he left Harry there intending to return to check on him a week later.

When he left the hospital staff returned to consciousness. More than one exclamation of "What the heck was that" was heard along with nurses calling out for replacement equipment to be brought in as burned out equipment and fuzes were discovered.

One nurse was tasked with keeping Harry monitored until the automatic systems could be brought back on line which she did by putting one hand on Harry's left wrist to keep track of not only the rhythm and frequency of his pulse but also the strength of it.

Feeling someone holding him he twitched his fingers causing the nurse to say, "We encountered a bit of an electrical problem and I need to keep track of your heart until the systems are back up." A slow blink later and Harry returned to dream land.

When Dumbledore visited Harry again it was two weeks later and he managed to knock out the equipment again this time. Not wasting time he again cast the magic level charm getting a reading of 14 he decided Harry Potter wasn't magical any longer. Shaking his head he removed all the charms along with the blood ward he'd hooked into Harry's core when he'd placed him with the Dursleys. Leaving Harry without its vaunted protection.

Convinced fate wouldn't leave him without a weapon against Voldemort Dumbledore spent the rest of his evening at Hogwarts wondering if Neville Longbottom truly was the boy who lived. He'd have to wait until young Neville arrived at Hogwarts as Augusta Longbottom wouldn't let him be alone with Neville long enough to measure the boy's core and until he did he wouldn't be sure if it could be Neville or was there yet another boy who matched the prophecy. Dumbledore wondered if it was possible for a muggleborn student to fit the requirements.

Back at Greater Whinging Hospital they were able to recover much quicker from the equipment disruption caused by Dumbledore's magic this time as the deficiencies identified as a result of his last visit had been corrected and all the necessary spares were now staged nearby but out of the damage range they'd identified.

Unknown to Dumbledore once he'd removed the charms and wards powered by Harry's magic. Harry's core was able to begin its slow recovery from where it had been drained to while protecting Harry from all the abuse and damage over his years, Harry's suicide attempt being just the latest one.

HPS

Two months later once the casts were removed Harry Potter had transferred to a recovery center and was starting to move around when he overheard them talking about him being able to return to the Dursleys soon. He returned to his room to await dinner on the verge of a full blown panic. Suddenly there was a pop. Harry looked over to see a small slightly green being standing there. "Woah," Harry said.

"Master Harry?" The little being asked.

"Yes, I'm Harry Potter."

"Misty is so happy to finally be able to be with Master Harry again."

As she spoke memories from when he was unconscious returned. As he mentally adjusted to the realization those memories actually happened and were not, as his psychiatrist said, mental ways of dealing with being unconscious Misty started to fidget.

A minute of contemplation later Harry asked, "Misty do I have a place to live other than with the Dursleys?"

"Of course Master Harry as the last Potter you have several choices."

"How can I get there?" He asked knowing his father had told him house elves could transport him.

"Misty can take you,"

Knowing it would be impolite to just disappear Harry took a page out of the workbook they had him writing in to improve something or other writing, 'Thanks for everything but I'm not going back to the Dursleys,' leaving that on his bed he turned saying, "Misty take me to a good home."

Harry's disappearance caused several individuals to be placed on probation for a while but despite an intensive search with repeated visits to the Dursleys who the police suspected of kidnapping Harry to insure he couldn't testify against them Harry Potter was never found. When he emerged from the wizarding world his disappearance was remembered only by those affected and even then as a minor blip in their lives.

HPS

Harry arrived in Potter Manor wearing the clothes he'd been given by the staff at the rehabilitation center. "If Master Harry will tell Misty where his stuff is she will go collect it."

"Misty I don't have any stuff." Harry said depressed at having to admit it.

"That is not right. Misty and other Potter elves take care of Master Harry."

"Oh yes there be six other elves here," Misty said as another elf popped in.

"Misty it be my job to tell Master Potter about the Manor. Why don't you see Cooky to get dinner for Master Potter," the new elf said sending Misty away.

Harry wasn't sure he liked the new elf sending Misty who'd saved him away. "Master Potter I be Reggy Head Potter elf."

"Reggy, Please call me Harry. Now Misty said there were six other elves here. Is there anyone else living here?"

"No and no one else can come without your invitation," Reggy replied watching Harry visibly relax as he replied.

"Good, now what should I do here." Harry asked

"You do nothing but get better you far too small for your age. Potter men be tall, strong men. Not elf sized. Reggy be getting Misty to get you proper potions,"

Another elf popped into the room saying, "It be Grady's job as Lord Potter's elf to take care of Master."

"Grady, Master Harry be still a child," Reggy said.

"But Grady have no one to take care of and Master Harry is being next Lord Potter."

Harry looked between the elves and was just about to speak up when Reggy said, "Reggy be head elf and Reggy say Misty be taking care of Master Harry."

Harry debated speaking up but he recalled his father saying the elves ran Potter Manor and they took care of the family. He realized they had their own rules so kept quiet. After Grady had left and Misty brought him lunch along with a small clay jug. "Drink potion first then eat. Potions be making Master Harry big and strong."

With a shrug born from spending months in the hospital being poked, prodded, and given all sorts of medicines Harry drank what was in the clay jug shuddering at taste taking a big gulp of the milk on his tray to try and clear it from his mouth before he started in on the meal before him. Surprised it was even a bit more than the hospital fed him.

Once he was done and alone Harry realized he knew nothing about where he was other than this bedroom. Getting up he began his exploration. The first door he opened led to a proper bathroom with a large bathtub. He used the facilities and made a note to really enjoy a soak in that tub sometime soon. Reentering the room he noticed a tall piece of furniture with two doors opening it he noticed a number of small dark dresses hanging within. Shutting the doors he turned to the remaining door wondering why they'd put him in a girls room as he thought the girl had an odd taste in dresses also passed through his mind. He recalled most of the girls in his school wore colorful dresses when they wore them. He avoided pulling out the drawers in the dresser he noticed not wanting to see girls undies.

He'd been exploring for about an hour while an invisible Reggy trailed him. When Harry realized he was lost and started looking around in panic Reggy revealed himself saying, "Would Master Harry like to return to his bedroom?"

"Yes, can you tell me why Misty put me in a girl's room?"

"You are in the young Lord's room, Master Harry."

"No, I'm not. The closet was full of dresses. Other than just looking around I was looking for a boy's bedroom to stay in," Harry countered.

"Those not be dresses those be robes for the young master to wear."

"Where are the trousers and shirts to wear under them then?"

"In summer you just be wearing pants and undershirt with robes. You know normal undergarments. Robes don't require trousers and outer shirts master Harry all those being in the dresser in the young Lord's bedroom," Reggy explained as he led Harry back to his room.

Harry was confused but decided as long as no one saw him it might be okay but he was still hesitant. As the thought popped into his mind he said, "I had a… dream where my dad said I was to read the family Grimoire."

"That be in Lord Potter's study. Perhaps Master Harry should learn to read first?"

"I can read!" Harry replied emphatically.

"Then tomorrow you and I will go to the Lord's study," Reggy said knowing with a stubborn child sometimes it was better to allow them to decide on their own they need to learn more. As long as it was safe of course.

The next morning breakfast in bed was followed by a long soak in the bathtub before Harry entered the bedroom intending to dress for the day only to find the bed made and clothes laid out on it apparently for him to wear. It took a bit of finagling to figure out how to don the robes but Harry was slightly proud he'd figured it out without calling for help. Not knowing Misty was in the room invisible waiting for him to call her to help him. Seeing the pride on his face when he figured it out she decided Reggy had been right Master Harry liked to figure things out for himself.

After spending two hours trying to read the Potter Grimoire Harry reluctantly admitted he needed to learn to read better and at Reggy's subtle prompting admitted he needed schooling.

Pleased Reggy guided Harry in writing a letter to the Potter Account manager at Gringotts requesting they engage a tutor for him and insure the proper privacy oaths were made. Reggy spent most of that afternoon explaining the Wizarding World to Harry when he questioned various wordings in the letter. Finally the letter was done and given to Jany to sent off.

Returning from the Owlery Jany approached Reggy saying, "There be owls delivering mail to Master Harry."

"Check them for bad magic then if they are clean bring them to me. I will go over them with young master, If they have bad magic carefully destroy them," Reggy replied getting a nod from Jany

Harry thought it was neat the wizarding world used owls to send mail and was surprised he was getting mail from people he didn't know. It fell upon Reggy to explain how he was considered a hero because he killed the last dark lord the night his parents were killed.

Harry questioned Reggy how he could kill a dark lord being just over a year old. Reggy agreed it was odd but together they decided it was something his parents did to protect him and someone had decided it was a better story if Harry had been the one to do it.

Harry thought about writing thank you letters to those who had written nice letters hoping to get a penpal. However Reggy was concerned someone might realize Harry was alone and needed to go back to the Dursleys. Just the mention of his aunt and uncle was enough for Harry to give up that idea deciding hiding out in Potter Manor until he needed to go to the school Reggy had told him about was a good idea.

Four days later a letter was received from Garhook, Harry's goblin account manager, stating he'd engaged a Robert Applegate to tutor Harry until he was at a level to enter Hogwarts. Additionally he would be bringing a healer named Brisknose to check on Master Potter to insure he was in good health. He also noted proper payments for both would be deducted from the Potter family vault.

The following day Reggy guided Harry through the process of adding Robert Applegate, Garhook, and Brisknose to those allowed through the floo causing Harry to laugh at the thought of using fireplaces as a means of transportation. At Harry's request he also guided Harry in removing everyone else from accessing Potter Manor via the floo.

It was bright and early the following morning when Harry met his Healer in the Manor's receiving room after Reggy had assured him he and the other elves would protect Harry should the Healer prove untrustworthy.

"Well, met Master Potter," Garhook said as he emerged from the fireplace he motioned to the goblin accompanying him saying, "this is healer Brisknose. We will be going to your room for your exam."

When Harry stood still Brisknose spoke up, "Well get a move on I am not here to wait around for pleasantries."

Harry and Misty led the way to Harry's room where Brisknose proceeded to ignore Misty and Garhook as she had Harry undress and lay on the bed before waving her hands over him observing the various results. When she finished Brisknose said, "You have had a rough life young wizard. I understand you recently returned to the magical world and while your elves did a good job of providing a basic series of potions in an attempt to build you up. You need to stop those until I say otherwise. I will send over a number of special potions for you to take in addition to providing the wizarding inoculation potions you never received. You may get dressed. We will return to Gringotts. Your first series of potions should arrive by sundown if they do not contact Garhook tomorrow," before disappearing though the floo with Garhook.

"That was abrupt." Harry commented.

"Goblins don't like to be away from Gringotts. And a female goblin is never without a male goblin escort when around Wizards or Witches," Reggy said.

Harry smiled in thanks before asking, "Tomorrow my teacher arrives?"

"Yes, Master Harry. I will be with you again."

The next morning Applegate arrived after breakfast. Harry was waiting when Applegate arrived in the receiving room. He lead he way into a side room allowing Applegate to talk about what he planned to teach. After ensuring it would include the muggle subjects he'd been studying Harry agreed glad he'd be continuing his normal studies along with learning about magic. His disappoint when he learned he'd have to wait until going to Hogwarts to actually get his own wand was somewhat mollified when he learned Applegate would be providing a training wand for use in the future. Schedules were drawn up for the first set of classes with Applegate providing all necessary supplies.

A little less than a month later Harry was enjoying his first week's break from schooling. He was debating if his teacher was trying to get him to try and kill himself again. Tutoring was not like going to muggle school where everyone had breaks during the day and he could even relax for most of the class time while the teacher focused on the other students in particular his slower cousin. No Professor Applegate as he'd insisted on being called was relentless in driving Harry to study. The only breaks were for morning tea, and lunch. Applegate left when it was time for afternoon tea. But Harry found he needed a good two hours in the evening just to read his assignments for the following day. The roughest part so far for Harry had been learning to use a quill. Even in muggle school his penmanship had been marginal at best. Professor Applegate was insistent Harry become skilled in using a quill and have proper penmanship before they progressed too far in his studies so first thing in the morning and for the first half hour after lunch Harry spent his school time practicing writing with a quill and sharpening a quill using a small pen knife that had the Potter family crest on the side.

Unknown to Harry Garhook had tasked Robert Applegate with seeing how much he could teach Harry not only about school subjects but wizarding world life and history before Harry went to Hogwarts. He knew Hogwarts history professor would not impart any useful information and to be honest it would be best if Harry learned how to study on his own as it would hold him in good stead for years to come.

Harry got a two week break centered on his birthday. Which Harry spent reading ahead while relaxing outside enjoying the sunshine. It was during that time Misty informed him he was off the potions he'd been taking since Brisknose's visit. As he thought things through he realized the breaks he was getting might be because of some calendar. Then a thought struck him. "Reggy," He called out.

"Master Harry summoned me?" The elf asked popping in.

"Yes, Reggy, I just had a question. Do you know why I'm getting these breaks?"

"Yes, Master Harry. They be so teacher can celebrate Holidays with his family and friends."

Harry thought about it for a moment before replying, "I don't know of any holidays that fall so regularly."

"They be Druid Holidays Master Harry."

"Were my family Druids?"

"Yes, though Mistress Lily also celebrated some other Holidays. One she called Christmas was nice as she gave things to us elves. Not clothes but little things always saying they were her way of saying thanks for what we did for her," Reggy replied.

Harry nodded and thanked the elf saying he could go back to what he was doing. In between eating, exploring the grounds and talking with the elves He spent the rest of the week thinking about what he wanted to do from now on. One of the things he thought about was what did he truly believe in. The Dursleys were Christmas and Easter Church of England members. Though they did go to church on Christmas Eve so as not to disrupt Dudley's enjoyment of Christmas morning. After He'd talked with a few classmates about religion he fully believed the way his relatives acted towards him wouldn't be fall under the 'be kind to others' guide his classmates said was one of the basics of that religion. Not wanting to catch the ire of Petunia he didn't even think about opening the large family Bible displayed prominently on a shelf next to her seat in the living room. It was the only thing in there she insisted be wiped dust free with a cloth at least every other day.

He realized he didn't know anything about being a Druid but if it was what his Parents were Harry felt he should at the least check it out. If Reggy didn't know of any books on it Perhaps Professor Applegate would be able to suggest something he could read.

September 20th Robert Applegate sat in Garhook's office going over Harry's progress. "He also has decided to start practicing Druidism after learning from the Potter elves it was his family's beliefs," Applegate said.

"It is good for him to embrace that. It will make life easier later on. Have you reached a decision concerning bringing in some others his age?" Garhook asked.

"I can handle a few more motivated students if we could find a safe place for the class to meet."

"You don't want to hold it at Potter manor?"

"No, given his past Harry has a strong need for a place where he feels completely safe. He told me when he found the access book and restricted it to only myself he'd never felt safer," Robert replied.

"I will inquire with a few other account managers and see if we can reach an agreement. Keep up young Harry's training. I know you practice the same beliefs so add those in as appropriate," Garhook said as his door opened in dismissal.

Harry Potter wasn't looking forward to Halloween, no it was Samhuinn he reminded himself. According to his studies this was the end of the year and time for the dead to be honored and feasted, not as the dead, but as the living spirits of loved ones and of guardians who hold the root-wisdom of the family.

Professor Applegate had provided minimal guidance including a goblin provided family tree and a trip to his parents grave the weekend before Samhuinn to avoid anyone looking for him.

At Samhuinn Professor Applegate was once again observing the Holiday with his family leaving Harry alone. Harry managed on his own to construct a small altar to his ancestors. He took a corner of his room placing a short corner table there with a cylindrical crystal holding an incense stick. Seen front on it was a child's attempt at an altar.

When looked at from above one could see the symbol from the grave of the oldest relative he could find in his parents graveyard. Harry instinctively knew from Professor Applegate's response when he'd caught Harry studying the other graves in the graveyard there was a lot of his family's history being hidden from him and he hoped this tribute would increase his connection to those members who he knew only as names on the Goblin provided family tree.

Not versed in the full rituals his family observed on this or any holiday he trusted Reggy to guide him as he did his best to honor his parents on the 31st and his elders on the 1st. Awaking on the 2ed Harry felt an internal peace unlike anytime he could remember. As he thought while eating the breakfast Cooky had prepared he realized his rituals had worked even boosting his knowledge of what he should be doing at each ritual. He also belatedly realized he needed to thank his house elves for taking such great care of him.

November 5th 1988 Augusta Longbottom was in a meeting with Grabsnout the Longbottom family account manager finishing up her year end review of the family's accounts when another goblin entered. "Garhook your timing is good. Dowager Longbottom and I are at the point to discuss your proposal," Grabsnout said.

"What is this about?" Augusta asked not wanting to be blindsided by any goblin offer.

"As you may not know I am the Potter family account manager and I currently am employing a tutor to teach the future Lord Potter. It is the tutor's opinion Master Potter would benefit from having additional students in his training. You are one of the families being approached about this."

Sitting back she carefully looked over Garhook using the time to decide on a response finally asking, "Garhook who is this Master Potter you speak of?"

"Master Harry James Potter,"

Her eyes widened for a moment before she continued, "I have been informed by others on the Wizengamot Albus Dumbledore, who is Harry Potter's appointed guardian, has stated since the attack on his family Harry lacks enough magic to even be rated a squib."

"Really? Why would they say that?" Garhook inquired.

"It was while they were informing me Dumbledore is quietly spreading the word he thinks my grandson should really be considered the future of our world and might be seeking to control him. Something I will not allow."

"Interesting, I can assure you Master Potter does possess magical ability. Hence why he is being tutored."

"May I inquire who are the other families being approached?" Augusta Longbottom asked.

"The only additional one being currently considered is the Greengrass family. It is thought it would be beneficial for a female to be included. Also the tutor wishes for a small number of students and he feels three or four would allow sufficient time with each one to insure they progress to the best of their abilities."

"Where would the classes be held?"

"That has yet to be decided. For safety reasons we'd like it somewhere accessible so that rules out Master Potter's current location. I was hoping either you or Lord Greengrass would allow the use of their family's training room," Garhook said. When he saw Madam Longbottom wasn't going to answer him right off Garhook stood nodding to both of them before walking out of Grabsnout's office.

A similar meeting took place with Lord Greengrass a day later. It took a further three weeks for everything to be worked out.

At a meeting with Applegate at the start of 1988's Yule holiday Garhook said, "When you re-start after the holiday you will be holding classes at Longbottom manor for Master Potter and two additional students."

"How will Master Potter be getting there?"

"You will take him the first day then after that he will be required to floo there on his own."

"Is that a good idea at his age?" Applegate asked concerned.

"He has the family house elves guarding him and it will increase his self reliance, a good thing given the circumstances. Ensure his elves know he will be meeting with another future lord and lady so he will be correctly attired."

"I'll visit the day before to let them know."

"Good," was Garhook's reply as his door once again opened of its own accord.

January 2 1988 an eight year old Harry Potter looked at the clothes laid out. Calling for Misty he was a bit surprised when Grady appeared. "is Misty alright?"

"Yes, Master Harry," Grady replied.

"Oh good I was going to ask her about these robes she laid out for me. They appear a bit fancier then I've been wearing."

"Master Harry be forgetting he is going to Longbottom manor for class today. Master Harry needs to dress differently when going out."

"Okay, thank you."

"Master Harry needs to be calling for Grady once he's ready and Grady be bring supplies. Grady knows Master Harry not comfortable around people so if he needs to leave Master Harry needs to be calling for Grady." The elf said popping away until Harry was dressed then reappearing and ensuring Harry was dressed properly.

It wasn't until he was in the entryway waiting for Professor Applegate that Harry recalled Grady's comment. Noticing Reggy waiting with him he asked, "Reggy why did Grady tell me to call for him rather than Misty?"

"It be protocol. Master Harry is now going off to school he no longer is responsibility of a nanny elf. Master Harry needs an elf with different skills while Misty be good at it Grady be better."

Their conversation was cut short by Professor Applegate stepping though the floo. "Ready for your first day at Longbottom manor?"

"Yes, my elves have done their best to insure everything is ready," Harry replied.

Noticing the elf standing next to Harry Applegate asked, "Are we ready?"

"Master Potter just needs to call Grady when he is in class," Reggy said.

With a nod Applegate said, "Follow me and do what I do," to Harry. Stepping into the fireplace he tossed the floo powder calling out "Longbottom Manor."

Harry watched him leave and with a little trepidation followed his actions. Harry's arrival at Longbottom manor was talked about for the rest of his life. He not only took out his classmate, Neville Longbottom. He also dumped Dowager Longbottom on top of them.

Professor Applegate was quick to assist Madam Longbottom to her feet commenting, "I see multiple classes in the use of the floo network in Master Potter's future."

"Most assuredly, though if we use Longbottom manor as one of those locations you will insure padding is put up." She said straightening her robes.

"Of course Dowager Longbottom," the Professor replied.

Once everyone was up and straightened out Professor started the introductions, "Dowager Lady Longbottom, Heir Longbottom may I introduce Heir Potter. Heir Potter, Dowager Lady Longbottom and Heir Neville Longbottom."

His introduction was followed by the standard nice to meet you exchange and with digging Harry found the present Reggy had passed him just before he left. With a smile at having to dig it out of a robe pocket Harry passed it to Lady Longbottom saying, "Thank you for allowing us to use Longbottom Manor for this training."

She took it with a smile turning to the floo when a ding announced an incoming floo. "It appears your other student is arriving," Madam Longbottom said to Applegate.

A young lady appeared in the floo stepping out with ease before she turned to face Madam Longbottom, Dropping in to a curtsy she said, "Madam Longbottom, my Father Lord Greengrass sends his greetings and thanks for arranging these tutoring sessions. I will endeavor to ensure you have no reason to contact him regarding any short comings from me,"

With her greeting of her hostess done Daphne Greengrass was introduced to her fellow students before the three students and professor were shown to the Longbottom training room.

Seeing there was no books or writing supplies available Harry started to look confused until both Miss Greengrass and Master Longbottom called for their house elves who appeared bringing their books and writing supplies. He recalled his elves instructions and called for Grady who appeared with his books and supplies. Before disappearing Grady said, "Call for Grady when it is time for lunch," before disappearing.

Harry returned to Potter Manor in smiles that night. He'd started classes with others and neither one of them picked on him or even made fun of him, that is if you didn't consider the teasing about his arrival. At the end of the day he'd followed Miss Greengrass's subtle guidance calling for his house elf. Grady quickly popped in taking his books and supplies away while passing him a small pouch of floo powder he used to get home.

His next revelation was an invitation to Greengrass Manor to celebrate Imbolc. He met Lord and Lady Greengrass along with Astoria, their youngest. Harry truly enjoyed celebrating the festival with the eight candles in the water honoring the Goddess Brighid. Though when he heard she was the goddess of midwives it brought a slight blush to his face that Lady Greengrass noted.

School picked right back up the following week and Harry realized he basically had a week break every six weeks or so with a two week break at the Druid's years end or his birthday as he thought of it. When training took a break for Lughansadh they stopped class at noon. Harry knew there would be a party for Neville whose birthday was the day before his and had brought a present Reggy had purchased. What he didn't expect was to also be the recipient of presents.

"Come on Harry you know we were born less than 24 hours apart," Neville said.

"Of course but…," Harry replied stopping when he realized to say he'd never had anyone celebrate it would reveal things he didn't want the others to know.

"Just because we're having it here doesn't mean we can't include you," Daphne said unknowingly giving Harry an out.

With a shrug Harry said, "My relatives always insisted the celebrations had to be at home," not mentioning the only celebrations held was for those with the last name of Dursley.

The festivals of the Druid year followed on until it was Samhuinn and he declined offers to join either the Longbottoms or Greengrasses. Retreating to Potter Manor for private remembrances just as he had done the previous year.

Unknown to Harry discussions were taking place at Longbottom Manor that would alter his training.

"I understand Harry's training has been set by Garhook what we wish to do is augment it now that you have included my grandson and Lady Greeengrass's daughter. That is why the three of us are meeting," Madam Longbottom said addressing Robert Applegate.

"Garhook has instructed me to add in sword training when we start up again,"

"What we are proposing is delaying that until all three of them have received instruction in dance. That is the order most of our husbands and fathers were taught these skills," Lady Annabelle Greengrass stated.

"I take it Miss Greengrass will not be taught sword fighting."

"No, I will be instructing my daughter other skills during that time. Though if Madam Longbottom is agreeable I am willing to conduct the dance training."

"What will I tell Garhook?" Applegate inquired.

"Leave that to me. You should receive new guidance before you restart training," Madam Longbottom said firmly.

Two days later Applegate received a Gringotts owl. Opening the attached mail he read, "Adjust your tutoring schedule to comply with Dowager Longbottom's current and any future requests," he finish with a chuckle saying to himself, "In other words keep Madam Longbottom from bothering me in the future."

His first day back at Longbottom Manor Harry was confused when Professor Applegate left before lunch saying, "See you tomorrow."

Everyone called for their house elves to bring lunch and Harry took the opportunity to send his school supplies back to Potter Manor. As the boys spent lunch trying to decide what they would be doing during the free afternoon they'd just been granted. Daphne Greengrass smiled to herself knowing what awaited them after lunch.

They were finishing lunch when Lady Greengrass walked into the room a girl their age behind her. Once she had their attention she announced, "Young men it is time for you to learn to dance. You will be spending the time after lunch training in dance until Lady Greengrass and I deem you proficient."

Harry and Neville exchanged nervous looks each looking around the room for other exits. "Oh, no you don't Daphne and Miss Davis here will serve as your partners. While they have already had training I'm sure they will be learning a few things also."

Seeing a questioning look on her daughter's face she added, "If nothing else you will learn the spell to harden the toes of your dancing shoes," Drawing a chuckle from Miss Davis behind her.

Harry stumbled out of the floo at Potter Manor that evening causing Grady to ask, "Master Harry are you alright?"

It took a moment for Harry to gather himself before replying, "I think so Grady. When anyone tells you dancing isn't hard work they are lying to you."

"Master James said the same thing when his mother, the Lady Potter decided to teach him. He enjoyed a nice bath afterwards. Grady will go prepare one. It will be ready when you finish dinner."

By the end of the week Harry's body had begun to adjust to the new stresses imposed on it. He was still tired when he returned to his manor but he no longer contemplated not returning the next morning.

All four youngsters' dance proficiency increased rapidly until Madam Longbottom and Lady Greengrass decided a mini ball was in order when they broke for Yule celebrations.

Friday before the yule Professor Applegate ended training early and sent everyone home at noon. Returning to Potter manor Harry was contemplating what do with his free afternoon when he saw Grady waiting for him. "Master Harry must eat quickly like then take bath. Grady will be waiting with proper robes."

"What?"

"No time for what. Go eat and take bath. Master Harry due at Longbottom manor in two hours."

Harry shrugged and followed orders. Two hours later wearing the fanciest robes he'd ever seen he stepped through the floo to Longbottom Manor. Where he was met by Neville whose robes were equal to his. "What's going on?" Harry asked.

"Heir Potter, I bid thee welcome to Longbottom Manor in peace. If there is anything we can do to make your stay more pleasant do not hesitate to inform us or our elves." Neville said formally.

Harry was about to tell Neville to knock it off when he realized something was going on. Falling back on the training he received he'd replied, "I bid thee greeting Heir Longbottom may there be peace here today. I doubt there is a need you have not anticipated however should one arise I will not hesitate to so inform you," Seeing Neville relax he quirked an eyebrow.

Neville responded with a side of the mouth whisper, "We are being watched. Full formal for now the girls await us in the ballroom."

Duly warned, after formally greeting each female Harry bowed air kissing their knuckles.

"Everyone as you can see we have decided to hold a Ball to celebrate the Yule. The elves have prepared some light snacks over there so enjoy yourselves." Madam Longbottom said stepping out of the room leaving the four of them alone.

A while later in the Longbottom's hidden overlook Augusta Longbottom and Annabelle Greengrass were watching the two boys lead the young ladies around the dance floor. "Though they are not proficient I believe we can drop their training to once a week. That will free up four days for Applegate to use for sword training," Augusta said.

"Agreed, If you don't mind I would like a room to train my daughter and Miss Davis. I would take them to Greengrass Manor but Astoria would want to join in and I'd rather avoid that issue."

"Quite understandable I'll have the elves prepare a room to your specifications. What do you plan on teaching them?"

"A variation on the hat pin defensive methods we were taught. As large hats have gone out of style I've taken to carrying a few items at all times. I was going to train Daphne before she left for Hogwarts. This will be the perfect opportunity to do that and with Tracy Davis joining her there will be that added element of competition to speed her learning," Lady Greengrass said drawing a nod of understanding and agreement from the Longbottom matriarch.

"Will your family be attending the Ministry Ball?" Augusta asked.

"Samuel and I will. We don't want to expose Daphne until next year and Astoria is too young," Annabella replied.

"I was thinking about having Neville attend if Daphne was but I agree another year of preparation would not be amiss. The Yule before they attend Hogwarts will work out fine. It gives them a chance to meet their peers prior to school and it will be too late for anyone else to join their classes."

Returning after the Yule morning classes proceeded as normal covering not only wizarding studies but what the muggles called the three "Rs". After lunch Miss Davis floo in as normal but Professor Applegate took the boys to a new room This one was rather bare. Just walls, floor, and ceiling and two dummies standing against one wall. He informed them dance lessons would now be on Friday afternoons only. The sounds of relief emerging from Neville and Harry had barely died when Professor Applegate handed them each a blunt small sword. "What," Harry started to ask stopping when he saw Neville shake his head.

"Now that your fancy dancing is done it is time for you to learn a gentleman's weapon. Those are scaled down to your size for training. These swords are designed to be held with one hand and as we don't know which hand you will be using for your wand you will become proficient in wielding these with either hand," Applegate said.

"I told you not to enjoy the end of dancing when it came," Neville said looking to Harry.

"Oh, you two will still be dancing. Though rather than enjoying your dance with a young lady. You will be dancing with your opponent trying to stay alive," Professor Applegate replied.

Seeing the two boys looking around Professor Applegate said, "Nothing in here for you two young gentlemen to break. Now I'll give you a bit to get used to holding those small swords."

Things progressed as anyone who knows boys could predict. Within moments the sound of steel hitting steel sounded in the room as Harry and Neville where taking wild swings at each other attempting to use the thrusting weapons as slashing ones. Applegate let it go on for a while before calling a halt and beginning his instruction. "Unlike what I just saw these are designed to thrust not slash," with a wave of his wand the two dummies moved to the middle of the room and the boys began to learn proper stance and footwork.

An hour later Neville asked, "Professor, what about our wands?"

"I've been waiting for one of you to ask," Applegate answered reaching into a pocket pulling out two sticks.

"We get to use our training wands?" Harry asked.

"No, you get two wooden sticks. I don't want the risk of accidental magic injuring me," Applegate explained.

"Crap," Harry exclaimed disappointed at not being allowed to use a wand yet again. Up to this point all they'd used their training wands for was to shoot colored blobs for accuracy training.

"Master Potter, watch your language," his Professor said instantly

Harry gathered himself before nodding to Professor Applegate saying, "I apologize that my language skills were insufficient to correctly express my displeasure at having to wait over a year to purchase something so important to my development," drawing a glare from his professor.

Applegate was quick to move right into training showing the boys two variations on using both a wand and sword. One was holding both at the waist while the other had them holding their "wand" above shoulder height. "The advantage of this one is it gives two different areas for your opponent to split their focus between. Some duelers also use the wand high method as it is normal for an attacker to focus on your center of mass and this method divides their attention causing their aim to be inaccurate."

While both Harry and Neville experimented with the wand high method they decided to use it for amusement while keeping their wand at the waist until they were able to see how a functioning wand would work with it.

As for the young ladies their room was noticeably different, yes there were training dummies but the room was also equipped with sofas, a formal table and chair arrangement, as well as several benches. There was also an open area that appeared padded.

Not wanting to draw any attention to themselves they stood awaiting direction.

"It has been decided while the boys are off playing with swords you two will learn how to defend yourselves. And yes Miss Davis your head of house has agreed to you receiving this training," Annabelle Greengrass stated.

Daphne almost had to bite her tongue to avoid asking who would be giving this training before she saw her mother remove a hair clip with a long pin that held it in place. Approaching one of the dummy's she promptly thrust it through the dummy's fake eye following up with a thrust to the dummy's chest.

"Wow!" Tracy Davis exclaimed.

"I wondered why your hair clips had such long pins," Daphne said.

Tracy's question of "Why do we need to learn defense. Isn't the war over?" brought a long answer from Annabelle that left both girls seriously contemplating ever being out of their parents sight again.

Knowing they had a lot to think about she left them alone to talk between them saying, "I'll be back after I enjoy a bit of tea with Madam Longbottom to answer the questions you come up with."

Two hours later the girls were settled and willing to begin their training though their attacks on their respective dummies lacked the 'enthusiasm' Lady Greengrass exhibited.

It took a bit of time and encouragement from Lady Greengrass before the girls took this part of their training seriously. Once she was satisfied with their ability in full out attacks Lady Greengrass moved on using the formal table and a training dummy she put the girls through the various levels of dealing with male attention at the table ranging from carefully moving his hand off her leg with a whispered "Behave" for use on one's spouse or potential spouse. Progressing onto the way to deal with a friend before escalating it to the proper way to curl her fingers so their nails left a lasting impression on someone they did not want to associate with. Other tactics were taught as the girls learned to deal with wanted and unwanted male attention over a wide variety of situations.

As Professor Applegate was doing with the boys Annabelle Greengrass spent the last half hour of class teaching the girls how to meditate as a means to calm down after training. Both of them also emphasized the importance of an ordered mind to maintaining their composure in all situations.

This training took the four of them past their breaks for Imbolc and Ostara celebrations. After Beltane their training once again changed with the end of the afternoon session focused on Occlumency. When both Madam Longbottom and Lady Greengrass inquired about the necessity of their children learning such obscure magic Professor Applegate replied, "I've been instructed by Garhook to insure Harry learns this subject. When I questioned him further he mentioned that there were at least two Legilimens at Hogwarts who not only read their students minds but attempted to guide those students by placing thoughts in their minds. I did not question him further though I was grateful I'd learned this skill from my parents before attending."

Knowing the goblins would not lie nor would they divulge how they learned about the Legilimens at Hogwarts both Madam Longbottom and Lady Greengrass agreed to the training with Lady Greengrass confirming with Lord Greengrass and Lord Davis it would be appropriate for the girls to learn.

Along with the change to learning Occlumency their training focused shifted to ensure they were beyond where their muggle peers would be when they entered Hogwarts for Magical training the following year and it wouldn't do to be too far ahead. As it was they were now studying theory at the second year level.

Samhuinn had Harry spending the evening of July 31st once again honoring his parents and the morning of November 1st honoring his ancestors. He emerged the evening of the first to spend some time with the Longbottoms at their invitation.
