"I was six years old when my grandmother, Queen Candy passed away. Some said it was an accident. Some say it was murder, but others either didn't care or they were too afraid to do, or say anything. I was never really close to my grandmother, and neither was my mom, of all people. She told me that my grandmother never cared for her own daughter, so she didn't care for own mom, she did however care about her dad. My grandfather was the only parent who was actually there for her, and the only one who would listen to her. I wish I could of met him, but he passed away before I was born. He was poisoned by King Edward of Woodland, years ago. But you already knew that. My story starts the day after Queen Candy's death."

Mom was walking around the room nervously as she waited for Victoria. Dad tried to calm her down, but it was no use.

"Everything is going to be fine," he said as he looked at her.

"Rememeber what happened last time? We thought as soon as we got married we'd be fine, but you were locked in the dungeon and I was about to get married to King Edward."

Dad shivers at what mom just said.

"My king, my queen," said a female voice.

"Ah Victoria there you are. Did you find anything?" asked mom.

"I'm sorry your majesty, but your mom is dead. She was stabbed in the back six times, then she was pushed down the stairs for good measures. Her neck is broken and so is other parts of her body."

Mom sat down on her and dad's bed with a look of sadness.

"Do you know who done this," asked dad, while holding mom.

"A man dressed in black, who it is I don't know, but what I do know is that someone paid that man to kill Queen Candy."

Mom looked at Victoria, then at dad, then back at Victoria.

"How do you know?"

"The knife has a symbol that's from a group of assassins.

"But why would someone..."

"You've made a lot of enimes, your majesty," said Victoria.

"I know, it's...it's just hard and terrifying," said mom as wrapped her around herself.

"You can go now Victoria," said dad.

"It's always a pleaser," she said as she bowed and started to leave.

On her way out she walked towards the corner, knowing that I would be there hiding behind some funiture. I smiled at Victoria, but she just frowned at me.

"Lovetta, what did I say about listening in to other people's conversations?"

"That it's rude," I said with a sigh.

"And it's something a little princess such as yourself should not be doing," she said as took my hand and started to walk me to my room.

"I know, but I just can't help myself," I said a little ashemed.

"I know you're worried about your mother and father, but trust me they'll be fine.

"Promise?" I asked her.

"I promise, said Victoria with a smile.

We chatted as my made our way to my room. It wasn't a long walk, but it wasn't a small one either. We didn't mind though. In fact we had a special bond. A bond that Victoria had with her brother.

I squeezed Victoria's hand when saw a tear falling from her eye. I knew about her and her brother, but she never wanted to talk about it before. I tried to bring it up at one point, but Victoria would just leave without saying a word to me. I never liked seeing Victoria like this, but as Victoria always said to me: "You can't help everyone."

There was a long silence as we reached our destination. Victoria picked me up and opened the door. She walked inside and tucked me in. She went to leave until I called her name.

"Victoria?"

"Yes?"

"What was your life like outside the castle?"

"Lets just say that I like my life inside the castle, than I did outside it," said Victoria.

"What's it like out there?"

Victoria kissed my forhead and said, "Goodnight Lovetta."

"Goodnight Victoria," I said as lied down and went to sleep.

As soon as Victoria left I jump out of bed, slowly cracked the door open and saw Victoria leaning on the wall with a sad look on her face.

"Victoria, are you okay?" asked a female voice.

"Oh, hey Nerris," said Victoria.

"Is everything okay?" Nerris asked a bit worried.

"Yeah, I'm just having a moment," said Victoria with a nerous smile.

"What's this one about?"

"My life...outside the castle," Victoria replied, looking at Nerris with a sad look on her face.

"Lovetta asked me what my life was outside the castle was like and I just wish I could tell a beautiful lie, but my life is an ungly truth," said Victoria as she started to cry.

"Victoria! It's not your fault," said Nerris as she tried to calm Victoria down.

All of a sudden Victoria was screaming and shouting. Nerris was shaking Victoria as if she was a little girl trapped in a nightmare.

"Victor!" yelled Victoria as she reached out for someone.

"Victoria!" Nerris yelled snapping her back to realty.

"It hap-happened a-again d-didn't it?" Victoria asked in between sobs.

"I'm afraid so."

"I can't shake away the guilt, Nerris."

"Eariler you said something bad is going to happen. Are you sure we don't need to alreat Max and Nikki?"

"It's not them I'm worried about," she said, sending shivers down my spine.

The next morning when I woke up I felt...odd. I couldn't get Nerris and Victoria's conversation out of my head. I wondered who it was that Victoria was worried about. It scared me, and the dream I had last night didn't help me feel better. I just shruged it off as I got out of my bed, got dressed, and made it to the dinning room and sat down at the large table.

"Good morning Lovetta," mom said before she hugged me.

"Good morning mom." I said while hugging her back. "Where's dad?"

"He's talking to Neil. He'll be down in a few minutes."

"Well I hope he doesn't plan on eating right now," said Victoria.

"And why's that?" asked mom.

"Because the food isn't ready yet. And you have a guest," said Victoria with a smile.

Mom and I looked at each other before looking back at Victoria who still had a big smile on her face.

"I take it that you know this person," said mom.

"Yes I do."

"Where is he?" I asked.

"I'm right here," said a random voice.

We turned around to see a man standing infront of us. His clothes made him look homeless but he looked clean despite the rages that he wore. He had dark brown hair and golden brown eyes. I looked at him and I sware he looked familiar, but I don't remember ever seeing him before.

"Excuse my sudden visit but I was told that Victoria Sanchez worked here, so I thought I would come to the kingdom to say hello," he said as he walked towards Victoria and wrapped his arms around her.

"Oh, it's so good to see you again," said Victoria as she hugged him back. "How's your mother?"

"She's good. Her, my dad, my brothers, and so is everyone eles," he said with a smile on his face. "How about you?"

"I'm doing just fine," said Victoria with a smile.

"Oh, where are my manners? Hi, I'm Alex," he said with a smile just as big as Victoria's.

"May I ask what brings you to Lilac?" mom asked.

"I'm just travling," he replied.

"You don't look like a travler," mom said, he just smiled at her.

"I am full of surprises, your majesty"

I got worried when he said that. To be honest everything worried me, and yes it was because of last night. And if you saw a grown woman break down into tears and say she's worried about someone, but you don't know who it is. Then you would be scared too.

"Besides, I'de rather spend my money on food, water, and supplies then clothes," he said while rubbing his head.

"We've got some cloths you can wear," mom offered but he declined.

"Thank you your majesty, but I'm fine," he said with a smile. "But I will ask if I can join you for breakfest? I would like to vist Victoria plus I haven't ate anything yet."

"Of course!" I yelled. Everyone looked at me.

"You are a great friend of Victoria's right?" I asked.

"Yes I am."

"And how longs it been since you two have seen each other?"

"Seven years," he replied.

"Then yes. Yes you are welcome to join us," I said while smiling nervously.

"Alright then," said mom before smiling at me.

Alex sat down at the table and asked for some grape juice. Mom and I sat down shortly after. While waiting for dad, mom asked Alex some questions. He answered as if someone had asked him before. Dad soon entered the dinning room with uncle Neil, and grandma and grandpa (Gwen and David), but they stopped as soon as they seen Alex.

"Umm Nikki, who is this?" he asked confussed and a little worried.

"This is Alex. He's a friend of Victoria's," said mom as she walked up to dad and kissed him.

"I take it that you are here to see Victoria?" Dad asked him.

"Yes I am," he replied not smiling this time.

"Are you from around here?" asked my grandpa.

"No, I am from a small village pretty far from here," he said.

"Do you have any family?" asked my uncle.

"Yes," he replied.

"Where are they now?" asked my grandma.

"Home," he said in a sad tone.

There was a long silence. Alex spoke up to break the silence.

"Is it true that you have two royal sorcerers working here?" he asked a bit worried.

Mom was about to answer until we heard footsteps and voices. Alex sat there with his arms wrapped around himeself. He had a look of sadness and fear on his face. Soon Harrison and Nerris walked into the room, but they both stopped dead in their tracks as soon as they seen Alex sitting at the table.

"Alex?" said Nerris as her eye twtched.

"It's been a long time hasn't it?" he asked her in a nervous tone.
