I totally lied to you all. I'm just going to post whenever I am motivated and I was very bored so I wrote another chapter.
I sadly don't own Harry Potter or X-Men.
Professor Dumbledore and I made our way down twisting halls and tall arches past pillars and statues to the great hall where the rest of the students would be, and where I would be in just a few minutes. As much as I wish it was a silent walk professor Dumbledore started speaking almost as soon as I emerged from his office.
"So, Harper how have your first few days in Scotland been?"
"Fine" I replied
"I'm glad... There are some things I need to inform you of, first of all, I will have your head of house Mrs. McGonagall give you your class schedule tomorrow during breakfast. Second, you will have to take an extra private class with Mrs. Mcgonagall to catch you up on everything you have missed, and of course, all of your things are already in your dorm after dinner just ask one of your housemates to show you where the Gryffindor common room is. Also, we had a room strategically placed in the middle of the castle so that wherever you are you will be close to it, it's for in case you ever need a place to be alone you won't harm anyone I will show it to you tomorrow after classes."
"Thank you professor" "Your welcome".
Coming up to a huge pair of double doors Professor Dumbledore stopped. "Are you ready?" he asked
"Never will be... Could you not announce my name or anything to everyone, I don't want any attention on me" I asked
"If that is what you want, I won't," he said opening the doors light flooded the dim hallway we were in, and professor dumbledore walked into the great hall. There were four long tables with the different houses sitting at each one and one more table at the end of the hall where all of the teachers were sitting and where professor dumbledore went. There were floating candles and the ceiling looked just like the night sky.
Gathering my courage I walked inside and was very relieved that almost no one even looked up from their food, I made my way down the Gryffindor table and sat down in an empty seat on the left of a girl with thick, dark red hair who looked about my age, she was talking to another girl to her right. After a moment I started to fill my plate with food forgetting I had not eaten since that morning. Right before I was about to take a bite of some sort of chicken pie which looked and smelled amazing, the girl I had sat down next to turned towards me, and I couldn't help but notice her vivid green eyes.
"Hi," she said happily "I've never seen you before, are you new?" "Yes," I replied nervously "I just got here today" "I didn't know anyone came here in the middle of the school year, where did you transfer from? Are you from America? Were you just sorted? What year are you in?" She shot off questions faster then I could answer.
"Ummmm" was all that managed to leave my mouth.
"Oh sorry, I'm just excited to possibly have another girl in my year, so what year are you in?" she said a bit sheepishly.
"I'm in fourth year." " You are? So am I, I can show you to the dorms if you haven't been yet, oh my name is Lily Evens. I can't believe I forgot to introduce myself!" she said that last part in utter disbelief.
"My names Harper," I said laughing heartily.
Inside though I was shocked I was talking so easily to her It usually took me a while to warm up to people. Maybe I was becoming less shy? Whatever the reason I'm glad I sat down by her.
After forgetting to introduce ourselves Lily introduced me to the girl she was talking to before although I almost immediately forgot her name. Lily and I continued to talk all through dinner. She told me about her sister Petunia and her friend Severus who was a Slytherin and about the Marauders who she had a strong dislike for especially someone named James Potter, apparently they were all currently in detention for pranking some of the Hufflepuff first years.
I also told her a bit about myself, a slightly edited version, of course, I wasn't quite ready for anyone to know I was a mutant. I told her that I had just found out about being a witch and didn't know anything about magic and that I had come from a Private school in America.
She was surprised to find out that I had just discovered that I was a witch. "Didn't you get your letter when you were eleven?" she asked
"I guess it got lost," I said shrugging
After dinner ended she showed me the way to the Gryffindor common room and to the fourth year girl's dormitories.
Walking in a noticed all of my things where already up here just like professor Dumbledore had said. Everything was sitting at the end of a bed waiting for me.
Me and Lily weren't the first ones back from dinner the rest of the fourth year girls were already there telling each other all about the summer they had and the places they had gone. After being introduced to all of them I started unpacking my things taking out my pajamas I headed to the bathroom to take a shower.
Once in the shower, I turned the water as hot as it would go after a long day meeting so many people I was completely drained closing my eyes I let the scolding hot water run down my skin soothing the tension from my shoulders and back.
Stepping out of the shower I dried off, wrapping my towel around me as I walked over to the sink to brush my teeth, looking up at the mirror I wiped of the condensation from the steam, staring back at me was a girl with dark brown shoulder-length wet hair slightly tanned skin and a pair of dark golden eyes, sighing at my reflection I finished brushing my teeth changed into my pajamas and left the bathroom.
By the time I was out the rest of the girls were in bed asleep, that's when I realized I had been in the shower for at least an hour or two, sighing again I got in my bed pulling the curtains surrounding it closed, and pulled my blankets up to my chin, I fell into the sweet nothingness of sleep as soon as my head hit my pillow.
The next morning I was up before all the other girls, I dressed quickly and headed downstairs into the common room where there were a few other students sitting around. I hurried past all of them and out of the portrait that server at the entrance to Gryffindor Tower. I slowed my pace once I was alone in the corridor. Only then did I question where I was going, deciding to head down to breakfast I got lost in a matter of minutes.
On top of being lost, I was hungry, because of my mutation I required more food than the average person, then again I'm not average, am I? That wasn't helping me get unlost in fact It made me more annoyed because being lost and hungry don't agree with each other.
After wandering around for a good twenty minutes I saw a group of girls who were probably in their seventh years walking towards me none of them seem to notice poor lost me. So taking a breath I walked over to them and asked directions to the great hall. They kindly showed me the way there.
Once we were there I thanked them and headed to where Lily was sitting.
"Where have you been? You weren't in the dorm or in the common room and when I came down here I couldn't find you." Lily asked worriedly
"I got lost," I said
"Well I'm sure you will figure out how to get here on your own eventually"
"I somehow dought that, getting lost is a specialty of mine, I'm pretty sure I'm directionally challenged," I said embarrassed
"Harper? I have your class schedule"
I turned around to see who was talking to me, it was the lady I had met the other day, Mrs. McGonagall I think. "Thank you," I said taking the schedule from her "You're welcome Harper, also Professor Dumbledore asked me to remind you to meet him in his office later." "I won't forget, thanks again," I called out to her as she walked away.
I looked down at the paper she handed me, I was taking Transfiguration, Charms, Potions, History of Magic, Defence Against the Dark Arts, Astronomy, Herbology, Study of Ancient Runes, Care of Magical Creatures and an extra lesson with Mrs. McGonagall.
Today I had a History of Magic Study of Ancient Runes and Care of Magical Creatures along with the extra lesson.
It went on to say the different lessons I had on different days but before I could continue reading Lily asked: "What was that about?"
"She was giving me my class schedule I didn't have it yet"
"I mean with professor Dumbledore" she replied
"Oh! Ummm, I'm not sure I think he wants to talk to me about something or something" I said half shrugging.
"Huh, I wonder what he wants to talk to you about"
"I don't know" I would have continued speaking but just then a boy with wild black hair squashed himself between Lily and me.
"Evens! Its been much too long, my heart aches when we're apart!" He said throwing his head back and clutching his chest dramatically.
"What do you want Potter?" Groaned Lily obviously annoyed
"My only wish is to be in your presence, is that too much to ask?" He continued with the overly dramatic voice.
I didn't hear what Lily said next because three more boys sat down, one by me and the two others across from us "Greetings fair lady, I don't believe I have seen you before, what might thou name be?" said the one why sat by me, he had chin-length black hair and grey eyes.
realizing that these were the Marauders I said "My names Harper" Having all three of the boys looking at me was making me a bit nervous "And I'm new that's why you have probably never seen me before." I continued
"Well then Harper I will just have to take it upon my self to show you around, aren't I so kind?"
"Thanks but no thanks Lily already said she would." I replied
"Oh you wound me" He said pretending to pierce his heart with an invisible knife. I could see why he and the other boy were friends they were so much alike.
"I'm Sirus by the way, and that's Remus" he said pointing to a boy in clothes that appeared to be a size too large, he had shadows under his eyes and looked incredibly pale. "And that's Peter" he finished by pointing at the last boy who was a bit chubby with blond hair.
Before I could say anything else though Lily stood up grabbing my arm "Come on, we better head to class" she said looking angry.
"Are you ok? What's wrong?" I ask worried
"It's that insufferable Potter he is so full of himself, thinks he is better than everyone and can have whatever he wants, he won't leave me alone he does it just to annoy me and no matter what I do I can't seem to get him to stop! Is that so wrong?"
"I guess you really hate him"
"I guess I do, we really had better get to class though." she said
"Ok, I just need to get my book from our dorm room, you head to class and I'll meet you there" I said this while turning and heading in what I thought was the direction of Gryffindor Tower.
"Where are you going, that's completely the wrong way!" Lily said laughing "I'll just show you and we can go to class together" walking in the opposite direction as me she continued to laugh at my expense.
By the time we were finished with all the classes for the day I was exhausted, and my mind was so full of magical things, I didn't think I could retain a single more piece of information. After Lily gave me very detailed instructions on how to get to Professor Dumbledores' office I headed there dragging my feet wanting the day to be over.
I am proud to say I did eventually make it there with very little way losing even if I was very late. When I was about to say the password for the stairs to appear professor dumbledore happened to come down them. In my head, I was very relieved I wouldn't have to climb all those stairs.
"Ah, Harper I was just about to see if you were lost"
"I did have a little trouble finding your office again, sorry" I said sheepishly
"Its quite alright dear you did only arrive here yesterday. Now why don't I show you the room." he said walking off.
I followed him for around ten minutes when we arrived in front of a door at the end of a hall. Professor Dumbledore walked inside following him in I took in everything. It looked like a normal classroom but I could feel the charms and spells in the air.
"It has been charmed so nothing can be broken also no one but the teachers and you can enter without your permission. Its also on the first floor if you need to leave the building you can go out the window and onto the grounds although I do warn you to stay clear of the Whomping Willow and the Forbidden Forest."
"Thank you professor, it's perfect." I said
"Alright then, how about we go and find some dinner so you can head off to bed, you look exhausted." He said
"That is a wonderful Idea" I replied
After dinner I followed Lily back up to our dormitories after falling asleep in the shower, I finally managed to get into bed, ending my first whole day at Hogwarts.
