Jude awoke early the next morning to the sound of her phone buzzing beside her bed. She yawned and reached her arm out, feeling for the phone without opening her eyes. She blinked slowly and looked at the screen. It was a text from Sax.
Morning gorgeous. Was thinking about you all night last night. Hope your dreams were as sweet as mine. Can't wait to see you again. XX
Jude smiled and yawned again. She wasn't sure what to text him back, so she just sent him two kisses, then closed her phone, yawned again and sat up in the bed.
Her phone dinged again and she knew it was Sax responding to her message so she opened her phone again.
Hmmm I'm imagining those kisses are real. I can't wait to feel your lips on mine again. I love the taste of your mouth so much. Can I give you a ride to work? Would love to kiss you for real again.
Jude felt herself blushing a little as she read his message, it was a little more provocative than she was used to. She thought for a second about texting him back a sexy response but then changed her mind and sent him a text back telling him to meet her out the front of her house in an hour instead, then she put her phone back on the bedside table.
She couldn't hear any noise in the house so she figured her mum and Sadie were still asleep. She stood, grabbed her silk robe from nearby and shoved it on to cover her underwear and singlet but not bothering to do it up, then she headed down the stairs to the kitchen.
She put a fresh filter and coffee into the pot and switched it on, knowing full when that when Sadie did wake up she would be wanting coffee, then she began preparing some eggs for breakfast. Jude wasn't exactly the greatest chef in the world, but one thing she did know how to cook well was scrambled eggs, and she knew both her Mum and Sadie enjoyed eating them. It wasn't like she was sucking up to them, but she knew that she was probably going to cop a fair talking to, so she may as well sweeten them up a little, to try and make it easier on her.
Meanwhile Tommy stirred on the couch in the next room. He sat slowly and opened his eyes, a little disoriented as he looked around, not knowing where he was. It wasn't until he saw the family portrait hanging on the wall that he remembered where he was, and how he had gotten there. He mentally kicked himself as he placed his head in his hands and sighed. He knew he had a lot of explaining to do, and he knew there was only a short time before Sadie came downstairs and he couldn't put it off any longer.
As he took his head out of his hands and sat up properly, the smell off coffee and eggs began wafting in from the kitchen. He allowed himself to stand up shakily and slowly head toward where the smell was coming from.
Jude was happily drifting off into her own little world, humming and singing to herself as she prepared breakfast, dancing around a little as she moved through the kitchen, she didn't notice Tommy walk into the kitchen.
He stopped when he saw Jude swaying around the kitchen. He couldn't help but stare at her as she moved, her robe had come open and he had noticed what she was wearing, or rather not wearing, underneath. He gulped and took a small breath, his thoughts wandering off to a very dangerous place and he knew if he kept looking at her the way he was, his body would definitely react to the impure thoughts that were running through his head, and that would only complicate the situation even more.
So he coughed to get her attention, his eyes quickly looking down at the floor as he tried to erase the image of Jude in her underwear out of his head.
Jude suddenly stopped humming and looked up. The shock of seeing Tommy standing in her kitchen made her nearly drop the mug she was holding. She placed it down on the bench and quickly moved to cover herself up as much as she could.
"Tommy what the hell!" She cried. "When did you get here? I didn't hear you knocking. Who let you inside?"
"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you." He stepped further into the kitchen. "Actually Sadie let me in last night."
"Oh...So you've been here all night then." Jude's mind immediately began jumping to conclusions as to why Tommy had spent the night at their house. "Oh I...Oh. Well I guess that kinda make sense seeing as you two are together and all." She tried to hide the disappointment in her voice but Tommy could hear it clearly.
When Tommy realized what Jude must have been thinking he quickly corrected her. "No it's not like that. We didn't….nothing happened..." He stammered. "I mean not that it would matter if anything did happen...but no. I kind of passed out on your couch after Sadie let me in. I was a little bit intoxicated last night." he admitted. "I may or may not have had a few too many drinks with the guys last night."
"It's fine. You don't have to explain anything to me Tommy. You and Sadie are both adults and what you do together is none of my business." Jude couldn't help it, even just the mere thought of Tommy and Sadie together stirred up feelings she knew she shouldn't be having. She knew she shouldn't be jealous, or angry or have any feelings what so ever for Tommy, especially since she had started seeing Sax, but no matter how hard she tried she could not break the connection they had, therefore her feelings would not go away.
"Jude..." Tommy started to speak but Jude stopped him.
"Its fine Tommy, really. Like I said it's none of my business what happens between you two. Besides I've moved on, I'm seeing someone else now so you don't have to worry. I've made the decision for you." Jude turned back toward the food on the stove and took a calming breath. She probably shouldn't have blurted that out to him like she did, she didn't even know if what she had with Sax was actually a thing or not, but either way she knew Tommy was never going to make the decision so she had to make it for him, and she chose not to sit around moping anymore, when there was someone who was actually interested in her, and didn't care if anyone saw them together or not.
"Oh." Tommy was taken back by her comment. He had no idea if what she was saying was true or if she was just saying it to push him away, either way he wasn't expecting her to make the decision. He was about to ask her more about it when footsteps coming down the stairs.
"I smell coffee and eggs." Sadie walked into the kitchen and when she saw Tommy she remembered what had happened the night before. "Oh, hey." She smiled at him awkwardly.
"Morning." Tommy smiled back. There was complete silence and none of them looked at each other.
"I'll leave you guys to it." Jude finally broke the silence. "There's coffee in the pot and I made some scrambled eggs." She started walking out of the room.
"Jude..." Tommy went to stop her.
"You two should talk. I've got to get ready anyway."
"Did you want me to give you a ride to work." Tommy asked as Jude walked past.
"No its fine. You two talk. I've got someone coming to pick me up." With that Jude walked out before Tommy could say anything else.
