Chapter 19
(With Naruto)
Naruto and Kurama stood on one end of the arena, while their opponent stood at the other end of the arena.
He had green hair that reached past the back of his neck and was wearing a red headband, a pink jacket over a white shirt, a yellow scarf, brown pants and blue sneakers.
["Is this guy a trainer or a street magician?"] Kurama asked, raising an eyebrow at this.
"Well, some trainers like to have a gimmick," Naruto said as he lightly chuckled, as the announcer took out his microphone.
{"OK everyone, we have our new trainers ready to show their skills here at the water arena. On one end, we have The Astonishing Mandi,"} the announcer said, as he pointed at Mandi.
Mandi smiled at this, as he tossed his hair a bit and waved to the cheering crowd.
["Oh, come on. I was kidding!"] Kurama yelled, before he started to cackle madly.
"I have never seen such an uncouth Ninetales. Such a shame, as they usually are the epitome of grace and power. You must not be that good a trainer, if he's acting so unprofessional" Mandi said, as he scoffed at how Kurama was acting, as even if he couldn't understand him, he could tell he was just an unruly thug.
{"And in this corner, we have quite a surprise! All the way from Pallet Town, we have Naruto Ketchum, the son of the champion of Kanto, Red!"} the announcer yelled, as he looked at his notes.
This got surprised looks from the audience, before they all started to cheer madly.
"Oh jeez" Naruto said as he pinched his nose in annoyance, as he had hoped that this wouldn't be revealed right off the bat.
"T-the champions son?!" Mandi asked, surprised at this reveal.
["I think he just made code yellow"] Kurama said with a snicker at this.
"It doesn't matter! I'll show that talent is what matters. So let's begin!" Mandi yelled, as he took out his Pokeball.
"Works for me. Just don't complain when you lose" Naruto said, as he nodded at this.
{"It looks like both trainers are ready to start! Let's start the battle!"} the announcer said, as the referee approached and explained the normal rules for the Pokemon match.
"Lets go, Exeggutor" Mandi said, as he tossed his Pokeball into the air, causing his Pokemon to come out, as it appeared on one of the platforms on the water field.
"Grass Type? Odd choice" Naruto said, as he raised an eyebrow at this, before shrugging.
"If you think you have a better choice, then let's see it! Show me if the son of Red is actually worth the hype!" Mandi said with a scowl.
"I got here using my own skills, not by using my dad's. But if you want me to show you how skilled I am" Naruto said, as he narrowed his eyes and took out a Pokeball that was icy blue.
["Oh jeez. You're gonna use her right from the start? You must really want to humble him,"] Kurama said with a snicker.
Naruto threw the Pokeball and when it opened in a flash of light and a burst of icy air, Articuno appeared in the sky and cried out, as she spread her wings.
This got looks of surprise from everyone in the stands, except for Will, Misty, Serena and May.
{"I can't believe this folks! A rookie trainer is using the Legendary bird Pokemon Articuno!"} the announcer said, as the crowd started to cheer in excitement.
"Can you imagine their reactions when they realize that this is technically her first battle?" Will asked with a grin.
"Well, you and Naruto have been training Articuno and Zapdos for this and they are more than ready Misty said with a nod at this
"Let the first match begin!" the referee yelled out.
'Mandi's Exeggcutor vs Naruto's Articuno: FIGHT!'
"Legendary or not, we're not giving up! Egg Bomb!" Mandi yelled at his Pokemon.
"Exeggutor!" the tree Pokemon yelled, as he fired some glowing balls at his opponent.
"Whirlwind, then follow up with a Blizzard," Naruto said with a firm tone of voice.
Articuno cried out, as she flapped her wings and sent a blast of wind at the incoming attack, which caused the attack to fly back at Exeggutor and strike him, making the attacks explode.
Articuno then flapped her wings again, which started to summon a Blizzard into the arena.
{"This is incredible folks! Not only has Naruto's Articuno sent Exeggutor's attack back at him, but she's now summoning a Blizzard, which is freezing the entire arena!"} the announcer yelled, as the water in the arena started to ice over and Exeggutor was soon covered in ice.
"Wing Attack" Naruto said firmly to Articuno.
Articuno called out at this, before she flew at Exeggutor and slammed her wing into the tree Pokemon, shattering the ice encasing him and sending him flying and causing him to slam at Mandi's feet.
"Next" Naruto said with a firm look at Mandi, as Articuno landed next to him, where she nuzzled her head against his.
{"This is absolutely astonishing! Naruto has easily tamed a Legendary Pokemon and had her easily beat his opponent"} the announcer yelled, as the referee approached Exeggutor to confirm he was knocked out.
'Mandi's Exeggcutor vs Naruto's Articuno: Fight Over. Winner: Naruto's Articuno!'
Mandi scowled at this, before he took out another Pokeball and threw it, letting out an Arcanine.
"A type advantage, huh? Hmmmm" Naruto said, as he rubbed his chin at this.
["Are you gonna let the rookie take on fido?"] Kurama asked curiously.
"Nah, let's switch things up" Naruto said, as he returned Articuno to her Pokeball.
{"And it looks like Naruto has returned Articuno to her Pokeball, so which Pokemon will he send out next?"} the announcer said.
Naruto took out another Pokeball and threw it, letting out Gengar.
{"Ah and we have a Ghost type and a powerful one at that. We don't see many Gengar's from rookies here in the Kanto region,"} the announcer said, as the crowd cheered at this.
"A Ghost type? Feh, they are only good for dealing with Psychic Types. This should be easy for us" Mandi said with a confident smile.
"You know, that overconfidence is really gonna cost you" Naruto said, as he could tell that Mandi was very overconfident, even after losing the first round.
"Let the second match begin!" the referee yelled.
'Mandi's Arcanine vs Naruto's Gengar: FIGHT!'
"Arcanine, start off with a Fire -" Mandi was saying, before being cut off.
"Uh, yea, we're not doing that. Gengar, you know what to do" Naruto said with a grin at the Ghost Pokemon.
Gengar smiled widely at this, before he disappeared, turning invisible.
{"And it looks like Gengar has decided to play hide and seek with Arcanine"} the announcer said, with the crowd cheering at this.
"Oi, this is a battle, not a game!" Mandi yelled out in frustration.
"Wait for it" Naruto said with a smirk at this, as he held up a finger.
As Arcanine looked around for any sign of the Ghost Pokemon, Gengar suddenly appeared behind him, a big smile on his face.
"Quick, behind you!" Mandi yelled out seeing this.
But it was too late, as Gengar fired a Confuse Ray from his hands, which hit the Fire Pokemon in the face.
This caused Arcanine to shake his head in confusion, before he started to fire blasts of fire randomly, hitting the iced up arena and causing it to start to melt.
{"It looks like Naruto's Gengar has made a direct hit with its Confuse Ray and now Arcanine is so confused, it's randomly attacking the arena"} the announcer said, as more of the ice was melted
"Uh, we're all safe from being hit, right?" Serena asked nervously.
"Yea, we'll be fine, especially since he's gonna wrap this up soon" Will said with a smirk, as Arcanine fell into the water.
Arcanine then poked his head out of the water and shook his head, before he looked up at Gengar, who was smiling down at him…while his hands were glowing with electricity.
"Arcanine, get out of there!" Mandi yelled out, as he knew what was going to happen, if Arcanine was hit while in the water.
"Thunder," Naruto said with a grin, at how easily this plan worked out.
Gengar giggled madly, before he thrust his hands out, sending the electricity at Arcanine.
The electricity struck Arcanine and the water, causing the arena to flash with electricity, as the Fire Pokemon was electrocuted.
Soon the attack ended, leaving a knocked out Arcanine floating in the water, as steam came off of him.
{"And Arcanine is unconscious"} the announcer said, as the crowd cheered at this, with the referee walking over, to make sure that Arcanine was actually knocked out.
'Mandi's Arcanine vs Naruto's Gengar: Fight Over. Winner: Naruto's Gengar!'
"Well, that's two down and one to go" Will said with a grin, as she and Misty high fived each other.
"Don't get cocky, babe!" May yelled out to Naruto.
Naruto nodded at this, as he kept his eyes on Mandi, as he returned Arcanine.
{"And now Mandi is down to his last Pokemon. What will he send out?"} the announcer asked.
Mandi took out a Pokeball and threw it in the air, letting out a Golbat.
["Oh, this is just sad"] Kurama said, as he covered his face with his paw, while laid down on the ground.
"Oh, stop. Golbat's can be strong, if trained right" Naruto said, as he shook his head at this.
["So you're not gonna use one of your Electric Types?"] Kurama asked, as he looked up at Naruto with a cocked eyebrow.
"Well, I'm not stupid" Naruto said as he returned Gengar, before he then threw his Pokeball and let out his Raichu.
{"And Naruto's final Pokemon choice is a Raichu, who will be facing Mandi's Golbat for the final round"} the announcer said to the crowd.
"Let the final match begin!" the referee yelled out.
'Mandi's Golbat vs Naruto's Raichu: FIGHT!'
"Don't think a type advantage will help you" Mandi said, as he glared at Naruto.
"I don't know. It's been helping me so far, after all" Naruto said with a slight smirk.
"Use Toxic!" Mandi yelled out.
Golbat's fangs glowed purple, as he flew at Raichu, who quickly dodged to the side, while spinning around and smacking Goliath with her tail, sending him into the water, causing him to struggle to get out, thanks to his wings getting wet.
"Well, this is just sad" Misty said with a sigh at this, as she shook her head.
"That's what happens when you let your ego get to you and you fall for obvious traps" May said, as she scoffed at Mandi falling for such obvious bait from Naruto mocking him.
["Gahahahahahahaha! It's a new record!"] Kurama yelled, as he rolled on the floor and cackled madly.
"Raichu, please feel free to end this," Naruto said with a sigh at this.
Raichu nodded at this, as she lowered her tail into the water and unleashed some electricity, causing Golbat to be electrocuted for a few moments, before he stopped struggling and floated in the water, swirls in his eyes.
{"And that's the match! The round goes ro Naruto Ketchum!"} the announcer yelled out, as the crowd cheered at this, with the referee checking on Golbat.
'Mandi's Golbat vs Naruto's Raichu: Fight Over. Winner: Naruto's Raichu!'
Naruto smiled at this, as he waved at the crowd along with Raichu, who smiled a bit, as she wasn't used to such praise.
"Well, it looks like Naruto made the bigger impression than you," Serena said, as she took note of how much the crowd was cheering.
"Note to self: show off more next time" Will said, as she held up a Pokeball that was gold plated.
"You just be sure he doesn't go nuts. After all, he has quite an attitude" Misty said with an annoyed look, as she thought about Will's Zapdos, who indeed had an attitude.
"So does Kurama and you tolerate him" Will said, as she put away her Pokeball.
"Barley" Misty said with a flat tone of voice, getting laughs from Will and May, while Serena shook her head at this, before they left their seats, so that they could go meet up with Naruto.

(Later)
After Naruto had met up with the girls, they headed for the Pokemon Center for Nurse Joy to look over Naruto's Pokemon, before they headed over to the cafeteria for something to eat.
"So, Nurse Joy said that you will get emailed on your Pokenavs, when your next matches are set up?" Serena asked Naruto and Will, as they ate thier dinner.
"Yea, pretty much. That way, we don't need to go to her to set up for every match" Naruto said, after he swallowed some ramen.
As they ate and talked, they noticed that some people outside the restaurant were stopping to take a look at them.
"Wonder what they're all looking at?" May asked in confusion.
["Let's see, they just saw the granddaughter and son of Professor Oak, along with the son of the champion of Kanto make a splash in their first matches. What do you think they are looking at, fatass?"] Kurama asked, before he went back to his food.
Before Will shoved his face into his dish.
"I think they are impressed with me and Will," Naruto said with a sheepish chuckle, as he waved at some people.
"Is that what he really said?" Misty asked, as she looked at Kurama with a deadpan.
"Pretty much, minus a crack about May's ass," Will said with a scowl, as she let go of Kurama and went back to her food.
"Oi! I'm not above shaving you bald, you know!" May said, as she slammed her hands on the table, as she glared at Kurama.
["Make a move, you mother - mpppph!"] Kurama was yelling, before Naruto grabbed his mouth, silencing him.
"Anyway, do you have any ideas what field your next matches will be in?" Misty asked Will.
"Nurse Joy said that our next matches will be in different fields" Will said, happy that she and Naruto won't have to fight each other yet.
As she said this, Will's Pokenav went off, signaling that she had gotten an alert.
"It sounds like your match is set," Serena said with a smile at Will, as she answered her Pokenav.
"Who are you facing?" May asked curiously.
"Hold on, the picture is loading - oh, hell yes!" Will was saying, before she yelled and smiled madly, along with Pikachu, who was on her shoulder.
"Well, don't keep us in suspense. Who are you facing off against?" Naruto asked.
Will smirked at this, as she showed everyone her Pokenav, and showed them a picture of Paul.
"…oh jeez" Naruto said, as he pinched his nose at this, seeing his girlfriend's mad grin.
["Call a priest, it's gonna be a funeral! Gahahaahahahahaha!"] Kurama yelled, before he started to cackle madly at this.
P.O.M and Kfbanime87 were sat at their desks, when….
It's time to head to the Demon Realm! Deadpool yelled, as he barged into the office, swinging his Power Pole about
It's been out for a few episodes already, you loon: Kfbanime87 said with a flat tone of voice
What, I can't be excited?! Deadpool yelled at this
Nah, I just think he's overwhelmed by all the stuff going on lately: P.O.M said with a shrug
Oh, like what? Deadpool asked curiously
Well let's see; new anime to watch, Sonic X Shadow Generations, me finding a new place to move and then we have me sell writing: Kfbanime87 listed off, as he held up a finger for each thing he listed
New anime? What new one is your favorite? Deadpool asked curiously
Is the Sonic Generations remake good? P.O.M asked with a raised eyebrow
What's next?! Deadpool yelled out
In order; I'm enjoying DanDaDan the most, seeing as it's a new series, old school wise. I'm enjoying the Ranma remake a lot too and yes, I'm liking Dragon Ball Daima, just not as much as the other two. It's just that this is a good year for new anime: Kfbanime87 said with a grin
