Praetor, Prompt 12, word count without the A/N's 1,216. "Hey I-I'm sorry to bother you." "It's no bother, what's up?" "C-Could you come over? I- I don't feel very good…"' A/N at the end.

Annabeth hated being sick. Didn't like the shivers that ran up and down her spine no matter how many blankets she had covering her. She couldn't stand being bed ridden with nothing to do. Most of all, she hated relying on other people to take care of her. Usually, she would just self-quarantine and make up some excuse as to why she couldn't be around people. She hadn't really gotten sick since she started dating Percy, so she didn't have to worry about him hovering over her either.

Well, she hadn't gotten sick until now that is.

This wasn't a common cold either. It had her legs shaking, her palms sweating, and her vision blurring. Her nose was either running constantly, or plugged up so nothing can get through. Her coughs ranged from small dry ones, to ones where she was nearly hacking her brains out. Her stomach flipped and flopped every minute, and she hadn't even gotten out of bed yet.

Annabeth shakily put her hand out and gripped the bedside table, swinging her legs over the edge of the bed and placing her feet on the cold wood floor. She attempted to stand, but only succeeded in needing to sit back down. Annabeth pressed her other hand to her forehead, releasing a defeated sigh when her fingers ran over the sweat that had beaded up. She sat there for a moment, listening for the sound of Percy in the apartment. Not even a moment later he walked into her room, a mug of coffee in each hand.

"I made coffee!" He said joyously, sitting down on the bed next to her. His face fell when his eyes landed on her face, which was surely pale.

"Are you alright?" He placed the mugs down before quickly placing his fingers to her forehead.

"I'm fine-"

"You are not fine! You're running a fever!"

"I'll be okay," She assured him, "I just need a little extra sleep."

His eyebrows knit together and he intertwined their fingers.

"I'll be fine," Annabeth smiled at him, "I'll just call in sick today. I'm sure I just need a day to myself."

She tried to ignore the stabbing pains in her stomach, instead she focused on keeping the smile on her face.

"I can use a sick day today too, stay home with you?" Percy said worriedly.

"Save those for when you are actually sick," Annabeth said.

Percy opened his mouth to protest but Annabeth interrupted him. "I'll be fine on my own, besides, you're only one call away if I need you."

Percy gave in with a sigh. He refused to leave without checking her temperature, so he did that- twice- and he made her promise to call him if she needed him.

She made her way to the living room while Percy got ready. He stopped to kiss her forehead before telling her to feel better and leaving the apartment. Annabeth then called her boss, letting him know that she wouldn't be able to come into work today.

Annabeth decided broth would be her best course of action, the nausea had passed for the moment, but she didn't want to chance having anything solid inter stomach. She was able to stand, all be it shakily, and she made her way to the kitchenette. She put some water in her teakettle and put the stove on before sitting on one of the hard wooden chairs.

The water was boiling within a matter of minutes and she poured it into a mug with the seasonings and mixed it all together. She then made her way back to the couch and began sipping the broth.

It was not a good idea. She felt her stomach flip and then flop. She felt it drop, as if it were falling through the floor, and then she felt it rise back up- moving through her body. She began running as fast as she could towards the bathroom, feeling it move up her throat. She landed right in front of the bathtub before everything surface.

When she was absolutely sure that she was done throwing up, she washed it all down the drain with the shower head. She than lay her head on the cold porcelin tub and took a shaky breath in.

Annabeth found the strength to stand a few minutes later, making her way to the phone and punching in the number.

"Hey I-I'm sorry to bother you." Annabeth said, her voice raspy.

"It's no bother, what's up?"

"C-Could you come over? I- I don't feel very good…"

"Of course! I'll be right over!"

Annabeth had barely put the phone down before she felt her shaking legs give way. She internally groaned, how could her legs be fine one minute and now working the next! She hated being sick. She gripped the table next to her for dear life and shakily lowered herself onto the kitchen chair. She heard the keys jingling outside the door a moment later and sighed with relief.

Sally came into view a moment later, worry and concern etched across her face.

"Why aren't you in bed!" She said, heaving her off her feet and placing an arm around her for support. "You should be resting and relaxing when you're sick."

Annabeth's teeth began chattering as she responded, "T-Thanks for c-c-coming Ms Jack-kson.'

"Anytime, dear, anytime." She said with a warm smile, getting Annabeth into her room. "And it's Sally."

Within moments, Annabeth was in bed with the covers over her- a cup of ginger-ale in her hand to sip from and an array of juices on the bedside table for her to sip slowly once she felt better.

Sally sat by her bedside, switching out the ice-pack when it was no longer cold or refilling the heat pack when it was no longer warm. She gave her ample amounts of ginger-ale, which did wonders for her nausea. She told stories while she was there too. Ones of Percy as a little kid- when he would run through the beach at Montauk, as fast as his little legs would carry him.

Annabeth didn't remember falling asleep, but she awoke some time later to hushed voices in the hall. Moments later, the bed next to her dipped and lips touched her forehead. Annabeth's eyes fluttered open to find Percy staring back at her. His sea-green eyes glinting with worry as he offered her a small smile.

"Mom said you called her to come over?"

"Yeah." Annabeth said groggily, "I-I didn't want to be a burden."

Percy let out a sigh and shook his head, though he was smiling.

"You could never be a burden." He kissed her forehead again, grinning widely after pulling away.

"Your fever must've broke in your sleep, are you feeling better?"

Annabeth turned over, wrapping her arms around Percy's middle and snuggling close to his chest. "Much better… I love you."

Percy wrapped his arms around her, kissing the top of her head and rubbing her back soothingly, "I love you too."

Hey y'all. Sorry it's been so long. I recently moved away from my childhood home to a new place, in a completely different state. I fit in there quickly and have been writing a ton, but I joined the playmakers and that ate up a good chunk of my time. Last year I was part of a forum called Camp Half-Blood, a non-roleplay forum where we wrote writing pieces and competed with other cabins to get the most points by the end of the year. Well, long story short, that forum died, and i have started up a new one - Camp Jupiter. With the help of the camp half-blood creator DaughterofHypnos, a.k.a. Emma, it is up and running and this is the first set of prompts- those to do with sickness. Feel free to join, I am going to post the link on my profile.

I did write A LOT of stories, chapters for old ones and new ones all the same- but I have made the resolution that I will only post those when I am absolutely finished with them, so you get nice steady updates because all i will have to do before updating is spellcheck and edit anything that is hugely wrong.

I also started drawing a webtoon, as soon as I moved away, because writing is a passion of mine and drawing comics to go along with what I write is even better. That is also taking up a chunk of my time.

Since this pandemic began, I have been able to write and draw a whole lot more, since I can get my schooling done as quick as possible and then get off days. You will definitly be seeing a lot of one shots from me, since i am running camp jupiter, and as soon as I finish one of my stories (One I am almost done with, it's called One Song and it is for the TMI/TID series) that will be getting posted as well.

I thank all of you who have stuck around through this, as you may have seen I deleted some of my older stories that I didn't like because i didn't like them. Um.. Yeah.

Thanks for reading Y'all. And I hope all of you and all of your families have been safe and healthy throughout this whole time. I'm going to leave before this A/N gets WAYYY too long. But i love you all and I am here if you need anyone to talk to.
