"Past the point of no return, the final threshold!

The bridge is crossed so stand and watch it burn.

We've passed the point of no return!"

I was on my way to my next class, humming to my music as I turned into another hallway. FN was out again today. They've been out for the past three days now and I'm getting worried. I was thrown out of my musings by falling to the tile floor. Pretty much every cliche story starter, but it gets better I promise.

"What do we have here?"

'Oh gods no!'

"Look! It's the Phantom Phai! Where's your sidekick? Oh wait, you are the sidekick!" The voice laughed. It was a cold laugh, one that melts into your skin and snatches your sole in it's Icy hold. One that comes with a feeling of dread, like that time my cousin and I were messing around and my elbow hit the shelf holding Gran's China angels. It took me nine months to buy another baebey Jesus. That was the worst year of my life.

I slowly lifted my gaze to those eyes, so full of resentment, it was scary. By this time, my playlist was finished and my lunch was leaking out of my bag. I heaved out a weary sigh and got shakily to my feet. 'Can this day be over with already!'

"How may i be of assistance?" I asked sarcastically.

BN stuck their nose up, looking as snobbish as humanly possible. "Hmmm... Meet me and my Entourage out in the east courtyard at 3:30. Just after clubs let out for the day." Then before I could say anything, they were already turning the far corner.

"Well, that was... intristing." I mutter as I glanced down at my bag that was now lying in a soggy heap on the floor. 'Grate! Papa's going to be furious and,' I turn my gaze to a nearby clock. 'Oh no! I'm gonna be late!'

I gathered my things from my desk as the last bell rang for the day and started toward the door. I figured that BN was already waiting for me outside, so I took of in the Direction of the Courtyard. By the time I got there, it was 3:22. 'Man I really didn't want this right now...'

I stopped dead in my tracks. There was BN, Marcus and Angeline as planned, but what are they surrounding? I leaned forward, careful not to make a sound as I try to spot what they were around. They were standing around a tree, the willow tree that FN and I would always sit around at lunch. My blood froze. FN was there, motionless on the ground.

'No! No! No! No! God no! No!'

I felt num. All pretense of being silent vanishing as I punched nearby pole, falling to the ground as I kept repeating "no" over and over again. I didn't register that someone was behind me until I felt it rappe around my neck.

Yes. I can remember it squeeze the air out of me as I kept crying for my friend. 'Please don't be dead! Please don't be dead!'

I didn't even know that I closed my eyes until I reopen them, gasping at the site I saw before me. I was kneeling, before an opera house that I once thought destroyed. I was at the old opera Garnier, in Paris.

I only had one question running through my mind, 'When am I?'
