For The Lover That I Lost

Author's Note:

I had so many mixed emotions and ideas when I listened to the song that inspired this, and I really struggled at first to think of a happy ending. It was always going to end with them walking away from one another.

But S/D U/M belong together. So, I thought about leaving this story open ended at when Serena asked him to join her for lunch and allow the readers to choose/imagine how they wanted it to end it. Either sad with him rejecting it and walking away, or happy with them reconciling their relationship. And of course, it's not too late to imagine your own ending if what I suggested wasn't to your liking.

But I'm a sucker for romances… and happily ever after's. So, I decided to add both alternative endings I had originally thought of during the draft stages. I couldn't decide if I wanted it to be somewhat sad to keep with my original thoughts or make it happy and feel good. But there it is! Or they are…

In any case, I hope you enjoyed my first short story! I hope it was thought provoking and somewhat emotional. It was my first time trying to cram so much into such a short story. Because I really would have loved to develop the hurtful emotions during the build up towards the divorce, and really detail how they struggled afterwards. But who got time for dat? Maybe one day I'll explore those emotions in another storyline when I do have the time.

Thanks again for reading, and stay tuned for more titles, and continuation of my other stories. =D
