"I don't want to go! Dad please I…..I don't want to go! Please I…..I don't feel well, yeah," Albus Severus Potter said with fear and worry in his voice as he held onto his father's arms pulling it gently and holding his trunk nervously looking around him before he looked back to his father. He was going on the train for the first time and Albus was scared of leaving his father and family. All of the talk he had heard from his father about his time at school made Al nervous. Even though he knows that the world is so different now. Its saver. However, Albus looked at his father with his bright green eyes while his father looked down at him with his. "Dad don't go!" Albus said with tears in his eyes. Harry James Potter sighed and got down on the ground to meet his son's eyes.
"Al don't worry everything will be simply fine. All right, now. Let's get you on the train," Harry said standing up and helping Albus with his trunk. "Now, you are going to do so well. I love you, Al," Harry added once he got the truck on the train. He then took his son into his arms. However, Albus did not let go as Harry made his way to pull out of the hug.
"Don't go, dad!" Albus cried into his shirt. Harry sighed and pulled Albus out of his arms gently. "Dad, I don't want to," Harry sighed again and kissed his son on his black- messily hair
"You will be fine Al. Write to me and your mother. Oh, and Lily too Oh, I'm so proud of you," Harry said giving his son a push. Albus let out a breath and walked onto the train.
It was quiet now at Hogwarts; the sun had just gone down. Albus just could not sleep for all he saw was his father getting killed while he was at school in his dreams. He was in his first year at Hogwarts. His first time without his father, his mother, and little sister. 'Oh, Merlin what if they did die while I was at school?' Albus thought looking down at his hands. They were covered in sweat. Albus looked up from his hands while he wiped them on his pajama pants and looked around him. The room was dark and Albus hated this: being alone with no family or friends. It was the first night and he could not help but feel nervous because of this. He really wanted to go home. Albus let out a sob and pulled the covers over his head. He then pulled them off when he heard someone move in their sleep. "I want to go home. Dad, James. I want to…" Albus cut off when he heard someone get out of bed and walk to the bathroom, but he stopped when he heard Albus rustling in his bed.
"Potter?" the voice said but Albus pulled his covers over his face again. "Potter, what's wrong?" The voice came from Scorpius Malfoy. He had met him on the train, but they were not friends. Albus was scared to be friends with him, to be honest. "Come on Potter what's wrong?" Scorpius asked once again poking Albus who flinched at the touch because he was so on edge.
"Nothing," Albus said in a shaky voice pulling the covers off of his face. "Go away," he added not meeting Scorpius's eyes.
"Ah come on Potter. Something is wrong. I can tell. You can tell me," Scorpius said not buying what Albus was saying. Albus sighed but he did not say anything. However, Scorpius saw it in his eyes. "You miss your father," the eleven-year-old said nodding slowly. "Potter, that's ok to miss him but don't go all crazy with it. I saw you on the platform this morning. What's bugging you so much about leaving. We are free without our parents. No parents aren't you happy about that?" he said off of Albus's look.
"Well, you don't know what its…Never mind you would not understand anyway," Albus said looking around nervously but when he looked back at Scorpius he saw him raising an eyebrow. Albus then got off his bed but he almost fell over because he was not looking where he was going. Thankfully, Scorpius cached him.
"Are you ok?" he asked but Albus did not say anything as tears filled his eyes.
"No. What if…What if dad and my family die? I can't live without them. Malfoy, I can't live without them. If they do, I don't know what to do with myself. That is why I did not even want to come here. Dad told me storys about his time at school and it sounded so, well, bad and unsafe. What if he's not safe at home. What if my sister is not….." Albus cut off with a panting breath. He was going to go on, but Scorpius pulled him into his arms. Scorpius Malfoy pulled him into a hug, this was weird. However, Albus was so tired that he did not pull away. "What are you doing?" Albus asked Scorpius who did not say anything as he welled up with tears.
"I…..Albus that won't happen," Scorpius said calling him by his first name for the first time. "Don't worry. Everything will be fine and if that does happen, I will be right here for you. I know that sounds weird because we just meet but seeing what you have with your father touched me and I wish that I could have that. So, we can be a family. I know that sounds…." Albus pulled out of the hug.
"Shut up Malfoy. I agree. Now, let's get some sleep. Wait, let's not right now I want us to get to know each other first because I don't trust me sleeping right now because I still want my dad and family," Albus said nervously looking around the room.
"Let's go in the Common room," Scorpius suggested. Albus nodded and walked out of the room.
