Just another day in MgRonald, Maou calmly working, serving his customers, and Chiho making loving eyes at him and Emi sweeping the floor.
Mayumi Kisaki, the manager of Mg Ronalds appeared at the door of her office supervising Emi and Maou so that they don't get in any arguments.
Kisaki appeared to have just come out of a meeting with her managers and did not look focused like she usually did.
"Oh.. Kisaki-san.. how did the meeting go, was it regarding the quarterly sales?", Maou asked. He had been curious about it for a while.
"Don't even ask, Maa-kun" , she sounded kind of depressed.
"Sales have gone down pretty bad since last quarter, to be honest we did not take time out for promotional events this time"
"O-oh. that sounds bad."
Even with only that information, Maou could guess the result was very bad so he couldn't help but feel worried.
"Yeah, maybe, the customers become bored with our usual stuff.."
He continued, "Oh yeah, thinking about it, Chi-chan and Kawachi were talking about some group these days who were attracted to something like model drama or mascot right?"
"... hm, mascot huh.. "
Kisaki seems to be thinking about something so she barely paid attention to what Maou said anymore.
"Well, thats too bad since we must contact the main branch if we must to...huh Kisaki-san?" Maou finally realised Kisaki wasn't paying attention to him, so he stop talking too.
"... "
Instead, Kisaki attention being pulled by Emi who now, at a counter serving another customer, when Kisaki noticed how the customers who apparently was a man, being flustered as Emi served him. The wheels begin turning in her mind.
" Ne, Maa-kun."
"Hm? What is it? "
"Saemi, is really popular right?"
"... eh? "
not only his expression, but his smile froze instantly we he followed Kisaki's gaze., what he saw, he didn't like it at all.
"Popular? uh, how should I said it, she-"
but Kisaki didn't even pay attention to him and continue mumble to herself-
"I have some dress in my office from an event before, and that would suit her body...
"h-huh, wait. Body? k-kisaki-san? uh, what are you-" Maou detected something unusual from Kisaki's aura and her words seem strange to him and the scene in-front of him wasn't helping; that guy was now flirting with her, Maou suddenly felt nervous and annoyed.
He was dumbfounded. He stood there not moving an inch thinking what Kisaki could have meant by that also thank god that man is gone now who was flirting with Emi before ,he had no idea why he felt that way but theres no time now he to focus, as he begin to serve a customer who just walked in.
'Oh well.. Guess there's no point dwelling on it' Maou though brushing all the bad feeling off.
Later that evening Kisaki held an emergency meeting. Everyone was curious of what is the meeting about since she strictly said "Urgent Emergency Meeting at 9 and Compulsory" her face was so serious even the devil king himself cover in fear.
Maou saw Emi approaching him curiosity was written all over her face, as she just newly started working at Mg Ronald's,
she asked; 'I haven't seen Kisaki san this serious, what do you think happened? Or this is the usual around here?"
"Don't know?' Maou himself is very confused about all this fiasco however his mind traced back to how that customer guy who was all red and stuff when Emi was serving him, and that guy even tried to flirt with her, what the hell? Why do i feel so annoyed and agitated about whatever that guy does with Emi Maou thought. His emotions got the better of himself and he said out loud to Emi who was standing in-front of him; "you know earlier that guy was trying to flirt with you?!'
'What guy?' Emi was beyond confused.
"How does it concern you? I am the hero and I can handle things by myself pretty well", Emi replied casually.
"Well he doesn't know that~"
"Whatever, hey did Chiho-chan leave already? I was going to ask her to come over to Bell's place..", Emi just realized Chiho wasn't around.
"Hmm, it's too late anyway, Aki-chan must have gone to walk her home", Maou looked out the door.
"Hey Maa-kun, Saemi, please come on into my office for the meeting! Looks like everyone else left", Kisaki suddenly called them.
"So you heard about our situation this quarter. And I hope you both understand the importance of trying out innovative and creative marketing strategies now and then to boost sales."
Maou and Emi felt Kisaki's expression turn stiffer
"And I am also sure neither of you would risk the chance of having to move to Greenland, worse comes to worst..", and her aura turned demonic saying this.
Maou and Emi felt a chill and knew they were not going to like what was going to come next.
The next day, the high-school girl showed up to work promptly on time and changed into her work clothes.
"Good morning Kawada-san, Akiko-san! What are you two looking at in the local newspaper so keenly? We have customers waiting!"
Akiko and Kawanda kept looking at the newspaper like they were under some spell
Chiho decided to take a look at this newspaper herself and walked to the side of Akiko and Kawanda and took a glimpse
"EHHH!" shrieked Chiho as her face lost all colour and her speech became a stuttering nonsense
There right on the newspaper was an ad for Mg Ronald's but not just any ordinary ad, to Chiho's defeat the ad depicted two close friends of hers in color coded outfits smiling looking like a couple.
Not just another regular couple but, an attractive couple one that would hold the attention of many and certainly will invite even more people to arrive at the restaurant to stop by and eat. Who would resist the smiles worn on there faces and the cute pose they took?
Akiko and Kawanda sweat-dropped as they took a glimpse at Chiho's dramatic reaction.
"What is this?!" Chiho yelled internally. Her gaze did not stray from that image in that newspaper.
'When did this happened ?!'
"W-well, you see..."
Akiko smile bitterly to chiho in sweat-drop manner but Chiho didn't even bother hearing it all and continue to rambling while her body is shaken greatly.
"i-i-it can be called as a couple r-ri-right?! this this picture just now, it looks like a couple picture right there!"
"C-calm down chi chan! its not like this is a married picture or-"
but, as soon as those words left Akiko's mouth, Chiho's soul felt like being pulled out from her body,
"t-thats right... j-just now akiko san too... you call it a married couple picture right... this picture is looks so cute...so, there's no way I can... "
and then mumbled expressionlessly like it was the end of the world.
" I-I said.. H-hey Kawachi! please say-"
seeing her coworker she began to lose her sanity, Akiko tried asking for help from the man on her side but,
"... die. "
" h-huh? k-kawachi? "
however she can't say anything and only stay frozen instantly when she saw a dark expression from that man.
"someone must die now, that unresponsive stupid useless man must die with stab on his-"
"w-wah! you two! wh-what is wrong with you?! it just a photo! j-just calm down okay!"
Suddenly Kisaki came out of her office.
" Hey.. Why. Aren't you all working? Come on back to work!"
As soon as chiho saw Kisaki she rushed to her .
"K.. Ki..Kisaki-san.. What's this?!.. Wha.. Whats the meaning of this Kisaki-san?!... "
while shaking Kisaki's arm vigorously.
"chi..chi-chan calm down.. Don't.. Don't do that.. Hey kawachi snap out of it!.. Help me stop chi-chan.. " Akiko was so scared to see how Chiho suddenly shaking their manager with no mercy.
Kawada on the other hand only stood there. Blank face.
"Chi-chan..~" Suddenly the shaken figure spoke up. The air around her was filled with demonic aura. Her voice was soft but could send shivers down the spine. Chiho who was shaking her,Immediately became frozen and kawada too finally snapped out of it.
"I..I..I'm sorry Ki.. Kisaki-san!" Chiho quickly apologised in fear.
"*sigh... What's with this ruckus anyway" kisaki asked while rubbing her fingers on her forehead.
Chiho then pass her the newspaper with maou and Emi's picture.
"Oh.. Is this whats all of this is about.. Yeah.. We took this yesterday for our commercial ads.. Well I forced them to be exact.." Kisaki calmly answered with a sinister but satisfy smile.
"Oh.. So they did this because of Kisaki-san.." Chiho said with a sign of relief. Kawada also relax his expression.
"But boy.. They do look like newlyweds huh.?"
Kisaki sudden comment made Chiho turned white and fainted. Kawada on the other hand. Well.. With a determine look on his face.
"I'm definitely going to kill that man!"
Meanwhile, back at the locker room if MgRonald, Emi was staring at the said picture of her and Maou for quite some time with a flushed face, thinking;
"Wow, our smiles sure don't looked forced" then she stared at Maou's face in the picture, she blushed even more, 'he looks cute' at that thought she mentally slapped herself 'what am I thinking?!' She shook her her head from side to side as to get rid of that thought but she couldn't deny the feeling when her heart raced as the photographer made them do couple more posses that involved them being way too close to each other until they set up on one pose that suited them more.
At that memory she blushed even more.
She didn't notice someone coming into the locker room until she felt a hand on her forehead which broke her out of her trance. She looked up to see it was Maou.
"Hey, are you ok?! You look really red I thought you had a fever or something.'
Emi just sighed, 'I am fine!'
Maou looked at her dubious but let it go anyways, he then looked at what she was holding and made a comment about it, 'we look pretty good don't you think? You should smile more like that'
A small blush formed on his cheeks as he said this, when Kisaki san showed him that the first time, he thought Emi looked really pretty and her smile was dazzling but as if he'd let her know that, then he as if realising what he just said, he add immediately, 'will bring more customers in here!'
Emi listened to him say that and first blushed at his word and the got annoyed at him which made her roll her eyes.
'Whatever, I am going to head out now, my shifts just ended!" She said putting aside the news paper.
"Really?! Mine too, you said you were gonna go to Bell's place earlier so are you coming along with me?"
"I guess ya we could so that!" She didn't mind walking with him for a bit she thought but then she tried to reason herself that she had no other choice.
So as they walked out of the fast food place and as they were Walking Maou saw the same guy who flirted with Emi earlier and told Emi to walk ahead and that he'll catch up.
So walked over to the guy and handed him the flyer of their picture to him and said, 'ive noticed you are our frequent customer, heres our new flyer, i just wanted to give you this in person as in thanking you for being a great customer' he said that all between his teeth and giving the guy a stare as if saying 'stay away from Emi'
And then Maou walked with Emi.
