On a nice sunny day, somewhere in Tokyo, Emi Yusa was on her way to the train station, the Keio Rail line. She was not alone, Alas=Ramus was with her as well, just enjoying her day with her ''Mama'' while she was on the phone currently with her "Papa"
"What? Tonight? A date?!" Emi exclaimed, her voice slightly high and her face had a look that as if Maou said the most ridiculous thing ever. "Idiot Maou, why couldn't you tell me this, like yesterday? I've already invited Rika for a sleepover today! God now I have to cancel that!"
"So what? Cancel it! We hardly get time Emi, considering our circumstances, our plans are always going to be unexpected"
"B..but fine! I can't argue with that!"
"What did you say? You want to spend time with me?"
"Listen you jerk! Stop teasing me! I never said that…ok maybe a tiny bit ya maybe?"
Maou just smiled on the other line, "just admit it you love me already"
Emi smiled to herself, knowing what Maou was saying was true but she will not tell him that yet, so she diverted the conversation, "ok I gotta go now, see you soon!"
"I can't wait!"
"Idiot! Byee" Emi was beet red by the end of the conservation, she and Maou have been dating for a while now, but are deciding to keep it a secret for now.
Currently, Emi and Alas=Ramus were sitting on a bench, waiting for the next train to arrive, Alas=Ramus asks Emi;
"Mama! wazz date?"
"Huh?! Where did you hear that?" Emi asked her with an unsettling and confused voice.
"Mama scweam and got mad on phone jus now when she said date! But then Mama got happy after, Mama wazz date?!" Alas=Ramus asked her again with a big and curious smile on her face.
With no other way to persuade her out of that topic, Emi tried to explain her with the easiest and simplest explanation possible.
"Urm uh date is when two people meet each other and spend some time together haha" Emi with a nervous laugh but then she continued remembering that if word got out that she and Maou are dating, it would be a chaos everywhere, not to mention Chiho would loose it.
"Promise to mama that you won't talk about what I said earlier on then phone to no one ok?"
"OKEY PROMISE HEHE"
"You're such a good girl, come here you!" She hugged Alas=Ramus, what started as a little awkward moment for Emi, turned out to be a lovely moment between her and Alas=Ramus.
Before they could even notice, the train arrived and they were on their way to the Sasazuka area.
As they walked, they arrived to "Devil Fortress" they climbed up the stairs and knocked on the door, Ashiya opened, "Hello-oh it's you hero" said Ashiya as he looked boringly at Emi to which she just ignored.
Ashiya bent down to greet Alas=Ramus, "Hello little one, how are you?" He cooed to her, after all she is dotted by everyone in the demon fortress and outside as well.
While this was going on, Emi spotted Maou inside sitting and they exchanged smiles to one another, as if they are greeting each other.
As Alas=Ramus spotted Maou, she became so glad and rushed to her Papa and hugged him, to which Maou hugged back,
"Hey there! Alas=Ramus, every-time you come Papa becomes happier"
Then his eyes fell on Emi, he smiled and asked "Hey, what about the plans?"
Emi blushed in a small voice and said, "I don't know you tell me, it's up to you"
"What plan my liege?" Ashiya sudden question took the life out of Maou.
Upon seeing Emi, he totally forgot that Ashiya was there and their relationship was a big secret.
"Huh?!.. Oh nothing.. I.. I mean.. Err.. I'm taking Alas=Ramus out later, yea.. that's it..I'm going out later" Maou said covering up his blunder in a panic manner.
Emi on the other hand tried not to show her panic by looking everywhere but Ashiya in the eye.
Ashiya frowned by Maou weird reaction but decided to just brush it off;
"If you're going out my liege, it's best if my liege eat lunch here first."
"Oh..Okay.. Sure"
Maou and Emi settled next together around the table occupying the room.
Urushihara observed their actions from the side of his eye, taking in all the subtle gestures they made and the loads of eye contact between them, as if they liked gazing into each others eyes and could do just that for hours. Honestly they were acting like a couple of..lovers.
Shifting his gaze from his laptop he knew what was going on and simply decided that he wanted to confirm it that's all.
He glided over at peek interest and plopped down on the floor.
"So how long do y'all think you can keep the gig up" whispered Lucifer.
It was as if an invasion of privacy struck the devil and the hero.
"uh.. what are you talking about? Maou is my enemy why would you ever think that!" a fake disgusted, Emi shrieked.
"No reason" snickered Lucifer.
Maou tried to find a reply but he knew there would be a bigger hole dug for the both of them so he took the latter and tried to distract the conversation by focusing on Alas=Ramus who was perched on his lap but Lucifer just simply wouldn't let the situation sweep under the rug.
"Ah so you both are dating, dude you are so not doing a good job at hiding it".
"Mama and Papa go on date!" demanded Alas=Ramus.
"Alas~ you promised not to say it" Emi desperately whispered to her daughter which Alas=Ramus showed a shock expression.
"Sworry"
The sudden apology of Alas made the couple starstruck. Even how panicked they are, they could never be angry from their daughter. Emi hugged Alas=Ramus showing how she has forgiven her beloved daughter.
Maou on the other end threatens Lucifer to shut up which Lucifer obey by returning to hole.
The room went silent except for Emi's loving voice that comforts both Alas=Ramus and Maou.
Maou and Emi's attempted façade did not affect the retreating Urushihara at all. In fact, it was quite nice to see - the way their faces would soften at the sight of the other; the lingering gazes; and all the times he almost caught them out, but Maou would bluff and try to lie, like a little boy hiding his first secret.
It reminded Urushihara of his own adventures in love.
Ah well, at least Alas=Ramus didn't take after Maou; the little one would happily talk to 'Looshifa' about anything, when given enough attention.
And Maou and Emi, judging by that blooper from Alas=Ramus, we're going out tonight.
Don't mess up, idiot, Urushihara said, looking at Maou.
"Demon king sama, my apologies.. Looks like we ran out of salt and soy sauce, allow me to borrow dullahan to go get them", Ashiya suddenly spoke from the kitchen.
An idea emerged in Maou's mind;
"Uh hey Ashiya, t-that's alright.. Alas=Ramus wants to eat corn soup at that new restaurant near the crossroads anyway, so I guess I'll get going.. what say Emi, you need to come along as you know Alas=Ramus can't stay too far from you ahaha ha", Maou said nervously and hurriedly got up from the table.
"Whwhat corn swoop yay..looshifa come along", Alas=Ramus shouted in joy.
Seeing Lucifer, who was just boredm browsing the internet, clearly not busy.
"Lucifer doesn't have time to go out, I see he's busy, let's go before they close", Maou did not want to have her speak anything more than that and took her out the door.
"Emi! Make it quick", he dragged her out as soon as he could before Ashiya got a chance to react.
"What just happened here, ..did I miss something? I just saw the demon king -", Suzuno peeped into room 201 which suddenly fell into awkward silence.
"It looks like Maou and Emilia just went out t-", Lucifer was trying to reply as he was interrupted by Ashiya.
"Please don't say anything Urushihara"
"Dude I didn't mean they went on a date or anything—"
"Asked you to stop just now", Ashiya stopped him, his face showing an eerily blank expression.
They heard a loud thud and Suzuno went out to see that Emilia has fallen off the stairs and into Demon King's arms, and they were just staring at each other until they heard Ashiya's voice that broke them out of their trance,
"My liege! Is everything alright?!"
"Yes yes! We will be on our way now!"
As they left leaving behind a very dubious Suzuno who just witnessed what happened between them and that was definitely not a demon-hero stare down.
"What were you thinking pulling that off in front of Ashiya, and God did you see Suzuno, I think she might suspect us also you really need to do something about those stairs!", Emi elbow bumped Maou in his side.
"Hey hey easy! I was only trying to protect him.. how else were we going to escape? And hopefully not I hope she doesn't figure it out and haha I didn't mind that one bit - having you in my arms" Maou said the last part smirking at Emi which made her blush.
Alas=Ramus has fallen asleep and merged with Emi after having her favourite corn soup as they were walking on the sidewalk.
"I know it was a close save there, but try to be more careful.. hey", Emi was pulled by Maou to the side as he found two unexpected figures walking in their direction on the same sidewalk. They did not seem to notice Maou and Emi yet.
They saw from their hiding place who those figures were, "Rika and Chiho?" Maou questioned, "What are they doing here? And why is Rika with Chiho?"
"What do you mean? How am i suppose to know that?"
"I don't know? Rika is supposed to be your best friend and didn't you say you were going to cancel your plans tonight with her?" Maou said in a matter of fact voice, with a slight sarcasm.
Emi just rolled her eyes at him, "I don't know but we can't do anything now! You already told Ashiya that we are going to get some groceries and Alas=Ramus corn soup, we can't just go back in there"
"Ya you are right, I guess we just have to miss out on them today" Maou shrugged his shoulders.
"Anyway, since we are here, might as well go on that day we were supposed to go on? I mean this is the only opportunity we are going to get here!"
"Wait like now? I am not prepared, you said tonight, I am not even dressed and God you have to ask me properly about it, this is not how things are done!"
Now it was Maou's turn to roll his eyes and sighed, "Oh Emilia! You look beautiful right now, you don't have to do anything and look at the bright side! If we have this date now then you'll be able to have that sleep over with Rika tonight? And okay fine I'll ask you alright?" He sighed, thinking, things i do for love. "Would you do the honour of going on a date with me?"
Emi pretended to think by putting her hand on her chin, took purposely longer to annoy Maou, "hmm, I don't know..."
"Emi please! We don't have all day! I really want to spend some time with you, we didn't go out for ages like this"
She laughed at him, "ok fine! You're such an idiot sometimes, I don't get what I see in you though"
"Oh just come on" Maou said while he held her hand and pulled her towards himself.
"Then which direction we are heading in?" this simple but serious question from Maou shocked Emi. Really, they don't know where to go now.
"Hey Maou-san, Yusa-san" Chiho shouted.
"Oh chi.. Chi-chan, Suzuki Rika! what a coincidence.. Aha..ahahaha"
"Ah... Chiho-chan, Rika.. Wha.. What are you two doing here?" they were approached by Chiho voice from behind them.
Maou' and Emi's faces looked like they have seen a ghost, color drained from their faces, they had no choice but to answer and try to act as normal as possible, Unfortunately for them, their two best-friends have already caught up with their weird and out of place act.
The weird vibe made Chiho feel uneasy as she spotted them holding each other hands, She wanted to question them but as she about to open her mouth Rika interrupted.
"Are you guys on a date?!."
"Huh!. What?! No we're not!"
"Yeah.. What are you talking about? Are you crazy?! Me and Emi on a date?! Aha..hahah?!"
"Then why were you holding hands?"
"Pft were not holding hands, pft you're imagining things" Emi answered quickly with the red face.
Maou agreed with Emi in his panic mode.
"Reeeally? Because you guys look like you're on a date, The little cutie is not with you too" Seeing their reactions Rika can't stop herself from teasing them. There is definitely something up.
"D-date Rika-san, now that you mentioned i-it really looks like that... Maou-san and Yusa-san are a c-c-c-coupl", Chiho could not contain herself, she felt like she was going to explode.
"Chiho-chan, it's not what it looks like, Rika! We just wanted to get Alas=Ramus some corn soup and Alas=Ramus is sleeping by the way", Emi responded not expecting Rika to guess so correctly.
"Aarrgh.. Chi-chan, please join us, we were on our way to the convenience store to get some stuff, Hey Suzuki Rika, Ashiya must have wanted to have you over to the Demon castle, he wants to make something special for lunch, Why don't you join us?"
"What? Didn't you just say you had lunch? I just had mine, also I wonder why Ashiya-san mentioned me..", Rika immediately realised something was off.
"Ahaha, you think too much Rika, we only had a light lunch with Alas=Ramus, so you and Chiho-chan can join us", Emi mentally facepalmed herself.
This was definitely not what they had planned for the day.
"Ahh, this is going to be a long long day", she sighed to Maou in a whisper. "You tell me!", Maou said, as they followed Rika and Chiho back to Villa Rosa Sasazuka.
Rika was already on the door as Ashiya greeted her, she ran so fast when maou mentioned ashiya that nothing could compare, she has had a crush on him for a while which leaves chiho walking alone with Maou and Emi as they were walking silently,
"Pst..I am going to try something" Emi whispered to Maou.
Maou looked dejected already about how their plan has gone down the drain so at the mention of them having a slight chance at this, he jumped up at the opportunity, "what?"
"Ughh Chiho-chan I have a horrible pain in my head, you know how Alas=Ramus can be? She wants to have that corn soup like right now, shes crying in my head for it!"
"Oh Yusa-san! You guys should go get her some then"
The two dashed off before any other interruptions from their beloved but currently annoying friends. After moving out of the neighbourhood, where no-one was likely to stop them, Maou took Emi's soft but warm hand in his, pulling her into his panting embrace.
Finally, he thought.
But Emi was having none of it: "Maou, gross! You're all sweaty - get away from me!"
"Aw, come on Emilia-seriously?!"
