Slade gripped his throne of which he sat as he watched his two trusted horsemen, Garred and Samuel, approach him.
"Well? Where is she?" Slade asked, irritation radiating off his voice. The two men in armour knelt in front of him.
"You're majesty, we have been denied access." Garred stated, earning a raised eyebrow from his master.
"What?" Slade snapped. The two men flinched.
"The Prince Richard has denied access to the Princess Rachel, your Honour." Samuel added. Slade heaved a long sigh, sinking back into his chair, before chuckling cunningly. The two Knights glanced up in confusion.
"Clever girl, isn't she?" He said, slowly getting up of his throne and walking towards the men before him. Once he was in front of them, he clasped his hands behind his back and stood up straight, an evil smile plastered on his face.
"If she won't come willingly, we'll have to take her forcefully. Round up all your men, I want you to burst through that palace. Shoot everyone if you have to, but make damn sure that the Queen and Princess have not been harmed. Understood?" He stated. The knights rose to their feet and nodded. Slade turned and walked back to his throne, where he took a seat once more. Before the Knights could leave, The doors to the throne room opened, revealing a figure covered in a black cape, hood covering the face. Slade narrowed his eyes as the figure approached him. The guards around Slade held up their weapons, but Slade gestured with his hand for them to stand down.
"You won't be able to get in there. The guards will easily outnumber you, and their weapons are far beyond advanced." Her voice stated once she had finally stood before him, face still covered.
"And I don't suppose you know how to get around that?" Slade asked, rubbing his chin.
"What's in it for you?" He asked, leaning forward.
"I want Prince Richard."
"Princess Rachel, what a surprise! You seem flustered. What may I help you with?" Robin's butler Joseph, exclaimed as Raven rushed up to Robin's room.
"Is Robin-I mean Richard, here?" She asked, still breathless from her quickened walk.
"Unfortunately, no. He is in a meeting with his parents in the business room. May I be of assistance in the meantime?" He replied.
"Damn. Uhm… No, but thank you for your help." Raven answered, bowing slightly before rushing past him to the staircase. He was about to object when he saw her friend come out of her sleeping quarters.
"Raven! You are going to fall if you don't stop! Raven! You're going to rip your dress! Slow the fuck down!" Jinx called as she chased after her friend.
As Raven reached the end of the staircase, she bumped into Robin's mother.
"Your Majesty, have you seen Prince Richard? Was he with you?" Raven asked hurriedly. The queen laughed.
"My dear! Calm down! You look like you've been showered with tomato sauce. What on earth are you in such a rush for?" The Queen laughed, grabbing Raven's arms. Jinx finally managed to catch up to Raven, huffing and puffing.
"Please, This is urgent, I need to see Richard." Raven begged, the Queen still holding her in place to stop her from moving.
"Thank you, My Queen. She's been impossible to catch." Jinx managed to huff out.
"I'm afraid Richard and his Father, along with your mother, are still in there. He seemed just as eager to see you that he nearly cancelled the meeting. This meeting, however, is important for the coronation and the wedding." The Queen told Raven.
Ravens eyes widened and her smile faded. The wedding… she had completely forgot about the wedding. Her heart began to race. She couldn't possibly get married… she wasn't ready for it yet.
'Just two days ago I was partying and having fun with random guys… now I'm getting fucking married? This must all be a dream…' Raven thought, suddenly realising it was becoming hard to breath. She shook her head and backed away from the queen slowly.
Jinx noticed how her friend reacted to the mention of the wedding, knowing that if she didn't get her out of here, she would have a serious panic attack.
"Raven, come on. We have some measurements to get done for the wedding dress. Thank you again for your patience, my Queen. Please let Richard know that Raven was looking for him." Jinx said hurriedly before grabbing Raven's hand and pulling her off to the garden area.
Cyborg, Starfire and Beast Boy were sitting on the lawn having what seemed to be a small picnic. As Jinx pulled Raven along with her, her eyes landed on the three teens.
"Hey! A little help over here!" Jinx called as Raven's arm hung around her, all her weight being thrown on Jinx. The other teens immediately ran up to them. Cyborg picked Raven up and placed her on the blanket of which they sat.
"Yo, what happened?" Beast Boy asked. Raven took deep breaths in, trying hard to grasp for air.
"She's having a panic attack." Cyborg stated, moving her to a position that helps her to breathe better. Jinx bit her finger nails as she watched her friend before her have something that she hasn't had in years. A small torch extended from Cyborg's arm. He shone it into Raven's eyes.
"Rachel, just breathe. You're going to be okay. Just calm down. Push whatever is making you like this, out your mind. Okay? Calm down." Cyborg told her calmly, trying hard to get her vitals up to normal. He continued to reassure her and try and calm her down, and slowly , her breathing and heart rate became regular, her temperature decreasing to it's normal body temp.
"You okay, Rachel?" He asked, shining the light into both her eyes once more after he saw she was stabilized. Raven sat up, taking a deep breath. She nodded her head.
"Yes, thank you." She said, her voice raspy and dry. Starfire handed her some water which she gladly accepted. He breathed out a sigh of relief.
"Thanks Metal man… that was kinda hot." Jinx said, looking the metallic man up and down.
"You think so?" He smirked, getting p and dusting himself off. Raven rolled her eyes.
"Get a room!" she yelled, earning a giggle from Starfire.
"Raven!" Robin's voice called. Cyborg helped Raven to stand up, letting her hold onto him for balance. Robin emerged from the pathway, frantically searching. Once he saw her, he ran to her her.
"My God Raven, are you okay? Beast Boy told me you had a panic attack?" Robin said, grabbing her and pulling her into a tight hug. Raven melted into his embrace, breathing in his scent, burying her face into his shoulder.
"I'm okay. Really. Cyborg helped me." Raven said, giving Cyborg a gentle yet sincere smile. He winked back.
"Thank Fucking heavens." He stated, pulling her in for another hug. Ravens eyes snapped open. This was the guy she was going to spend the rest of her life with… Holy shit.
She pushed him away slightly, earning a confused look from him.
"Raven?" Robin asked, now concerned. Raven felt herself get hot again. She couldn't do this… not now.
"I…I… excuse me." She stutters before dashing past everyone back into the palace, leaving everyone flabbergasted. Robin stood there shocked.
"Chase after her, Stupid." Cyborg said just barely above a whisper , smacking Robin on his head. Were people just addicted to smacking him there or what?
He began to run after her after glaring at Cyborg.
"Raven! Wait!" Robin called.
Raven ran and ran. She didn't know where she was going, but she ran. Tears had begun racing down her face, smudging her makeup as the wind pushed it past her eyes all the way down to her chin.
"Rach? Baby, what's the matter?" Arella asked as she caught her daughters hand. Raven stopped and ran into her mothers arms. Arella jumped in surprise.
"I can't, mother. I can't. I'm not ready… and even if I was, I don't deserve someone like him." Raven said into her mothers chest. Arella's face softened, a sad smile crossing over her face. She pulled away from the embrace, taking Raven's face in her hands.
"Come… I need to show you something." She said after placing a small kiss on Raven's nose. Arella led her daughter, arm around her shoulders.
Robin came running down the passage, seeing Raven and her mother enter the measuring chambers.
"Raven!" He called after them. Arella turned around, seeing Robin.
"I'll be there in a second, My love." She said to Raven, letting one of the maids usher her into the room. Arella walked to Robin, now standing in front of him. Her heart softened as she saw the saddened look on his face. She smiled and placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Prince Richard, she is in a state at the moment. It is not my place to tell you why. I will send her to your sleeping quarters when I am done with her. She just need to have her eyes opened." Arella stated, her friendly smile comforting him. He gave her a sad smile, his heart feeling as though it was pulled out with a knife.
"She loves you. As every soulmate loves their significant other… she just needs some time to fully accept it. Love is a scary thing for someone like her to come to terms with." She finished, giving his shoulder a squeeze.
"I…I love your daughter too… I've never felt the need to love someone… before…" He slowly drifted off as he came to the realization. Arella saw that he had realized something in their talk.
"I know you do." She smiled before giving him a squeeze and left, leaving him with his thoughts.
Robin couldn't believe it… This all made sense. That was why him and Raven literally had the same life. Partying , drinking, sex- they were all things they both used to replace the empty feeling that love should have filled…
~With Arella and Raven~
As Arella entered, she saw Raven sitting on a chair in the middle of the room, surrounded by loads of wedding dresses, her eyes downcast, playing with her hands in her lap. Arella laughed softly, earning Raven's attention. She looked up at her mother.
"Mom, I don't want-"
"It's okay if you don't want to… At least then give me the privilege of seeing my baby wearing a dress for the first and last time?" Arella asked, faking her saddened facial expression. Raven took her mothers hands in her own and gave it a squeeze. She didn't want to do any of this anymore… but she could at least do this for her mother…Dress up is kinda fun anyways.
"Of course, Mum." Raven answered. Arellas smile tugged at her face as she nodded for the maid take her to try on her first gown. Taking a seat in the soft cushioned chair, she waited for her daughter to emerge.
Raven walked out from the changing room wearing a beautiful Fit and Flare wedding dress with an off the shoulder neckline. Arella gasped, smiling uncontrollably. Raven laughed, rolling her eyes. Her mother was so dramatic sometimes.
"Surely I don't look that good-Woah…." Raven said, amazed as she turned to face herself in the huge wall mirror. She looked so different… so beautiful. Arella stood up and went to stand behind her daughter, smiling at her through the mirror. Ravens mouth stood agape. So many emotions filled her internally… happiness, excitement, regret… She made Robin think she didn't want this, but she wanted it more than anything.
A tear escaped her eyes and she chuckled. Arella rubbed Ravens back as Raven continued to fall in love with the image before her, turning slightly to admire herself at every angle, her heart filling with a joy that she has never felt before…
"You see, Raven, you have the opportunity to have what ever other girl has, because of him. The opportunity to feel what every other girl feels at a moment like this in their lives. Being scared is normal. He may have been scared about getting married as well, but he never hesitated asking you because he knew you were perfect for him. The moment you met, I saw the love and adoration in his eyes. He wants to give you everything… Even true happiness on your wedding day. That's something neither Slade nor any other man, will never be able to give you like Richard can." Arella whispered, placing a crystalised crown on her head, along with a gorgeous long veil. Raven did a sharp intake of breath. Her mother was right.
"But what about you?...Mom I can't leave you alone." Raven stated, tears falling down her face as she turned to her mother. Her mother gave a soft smile, taking Raven's hands in her own.
"I've spent the best eighteen years of my life with you. My God, was it fun!" Arella started, earning a small giggle from Raven. She placed one of her hands onto Ravens face, gently caressing it.
"I will be absolutely fine. I love you, Baby. I always have and always will… But your time with me has come to an end. I have been preparing you for a moment like this, and now it has come. You've turned into the daughter that me and your father have always wanted you to be." Arella said, placing her forehead against Ravens.
"I miss him." Raven sniffed.
"He's smiling down at you, baby," She replied, wiping her daughters face. "Now… go get your man, and tell him how much you love him." Arella finished, smiling. Raven flew into her mothers arms once more.
"Rachel?" Robin excitedly asked as he swung the door open. His face dropped as his eyes fell on Terra. She raised an eyebrow.
"I swear, if that smile doesn't make Rachel run the fuck away from you, she's a keeper." Terra said, walking into his room. He shut the door behind her, following her to the balcony.
"What's up Terra?" He frowned, leaning against the balcony with his arms draped over his chest. Terra sighed, slowly drifting to stand in front of the young Prince, placing her hands on his thighs.
"I can see how stressed out this is all making you…" She replied, drawing small circles with her thumb on his thighs.
"How could you tell?" He asked sarcastically, running a hand through his untamed hair. Terra pouted.
"You were never like this before you met her. You always had fun, never had to worry about committing to another women… your life was great. But now… well now it isn't. Is this all worth it?" Terra whispered, slowly inching closer to his face until she was merely millimetres away.
"I love her…" He trailed off, staring at her lips.
"Is love worth giving everything up…?" Terra asked, her breasts now rubbing up against his chest. No, he couldn't lose control now.
"Y-yes." He stuttered. Terra laughed lightly, moving her lips to his neck, where she glided her lips to his ears.
"I don't think so. Otherwise you would have stopped me." She whispered into his ear, sending hot waves through his body. She glided her finger up his thigh, past his chest, and up to his face. She stared into his eyes for a few seconds before she crashed her lips against his, winding her arms around his neck to pull him closer to her. Robin's eyes remained wide from the shock for a few seconds before fluttering closed and sinking into the kiss. His arms ran their way down her back and rested on her butt. This was so wrong, but he couldn't bring himself to stop.
The balcony door creaked, but they both thought nothing of it and continued their lip contact, deepening the kiss.
"Well well well, look what we have here." A raspy voice came through the darkness, killing the silence around them. Robin's heart stopped, his blood running cold. Robin quickly pushed Terra off him, eyes widening as they fell on Raven. Her tears left a thick wet line running down her face, leaving her eyes blood shot red- a sad, hurt expression across her face. She had been dressed in the exact same attire from that night in the garden; black night gown and a cloak thrown over her shoulders.
Guilt rushed through his body as he felt her emotions and read her thoughts. What the hell was the matter with him?
"No, please. Don't stop on my accord. I'll see myself out. Have a wonderful night, Richard." She said, her voice cracking as her eyes narrowed at him. She turned to leave, only to have her hand grabbed. Robin turned her around to face him.
"Rae, please, just listen to me-"
"I heard enough already. She's right. If you loved me, you would have stopped her." Raven sniffed, her tears falling harder. Fuck, she was here for that.
"No… no Raven please-"
"I'm not done talking! Raven, please-"
"Well I am! I would much rather die than spend my life with someone who goes around screwing other women behind my back." She yelled. His eyes widened in shock, letting go of her hand. She looked at him, her lips quivering.
"Azarath knew what they were doing when they put me with you as a soulmate… They knew damn well I would pick death rather than become one with you." She whispered, not able to raise her voice due to her immense crying. Robin stood frozen as all her pain and anger filed him.
"No… Just don't." She cut him off, before running out the room crying. Robin fell to his knees, burring his hands in his face. He knew he would be a player and always make girls cry… but he never thought he would make his true love cry.
"THAT MUTHERFUCKER! GET OFF ME SO I CAN BEAT THE HELL OUT OF HIM- AND THAT BLONDE BIMBO BITCH TOO!" Jinx shouted, blood red in anger. She had been on the bed holding Raven as she cried, now Raven was holding her back.
"Jinx, please! Calm down!" Raven said, trying hard to hold her friend back.
"NO FUCKING WAY! HE WANTS TO MAKE YOU CRY? THEN YOU GON' CRY OVER HIS DEAD BODY!" Jinx yelled again, this time she was close enough to open the door of the bedroom. Raven fell to the floor as Jinx had enough power to storm out the room, hands and eyes glowing pink. If she didn't do something, Robin and Terra were going to die.
"CYBORG! BEAST BOY! STARFIRE!" I called out frantically, chasing after my best friend. Cyborg, Beast Boy and Starfire ran up the stairs as fast as they could.
"What's goin' on, Princess?" Beast Boy asked, seeing Raven scared out her shit.
"Catch Jinx before she does something to Robin!" Raven said quickly. Starfire, Cyborg and Beast Boy looked to the side to see a blood thirsty looking Jinx. They nodded before running as fast as they could to catch her, Starfire flying above them. Raven followed close behind.
Starfire threw down one of the pillars to block Robins room, slowing her down. Beast Boy then transformed into an octopus and snatched her up, throwing her into Cyborg's chest, who held her firmly, so that she could at least come to her senses. Everyone breathed a sigh of relief.
"Jinx! What the hell were you thinking?" Cyborgs voice boomed. Jinxs eyes turned back to its usual pink, looking up at him. She raised an eyebrow.
"You don't know what that fucking mushroom did, do you?" She asked, earning a confused look from Starfire and Beast Boy. Raven groaned inwardly. This wasn't going to an easy conversation to calm.
"Who, Robin? Nah, what he do?" Beast Boy asked, curious. Cyborg put Jinx down, keeping a close eye on her for if she tried to run again.
"Your little shit of a friend, was caught by Raven making out with your blonde bitch who you all call Terra." Jinx replied, arms crossing over her chest. Everyone gasped.
"I should have let you beat his ass. That's not cool!" Cyborg stated, his circuits turning red.
"Yeah- and with TERRA? Are they fucking crazy?" Beast Boy added. Starfire looked over at Raven, pulling her into a bone crushing hug.
"I am so sorry, Rachel." Starfire said sadly. Ravens eyes softened.
"You don't have to be. I should never have expected any more from him. Luckily, after the Coronation tomorrow night, You guys don't need to see me again… literally." Raven replied with a smile as she separated from Starfire. Jinx smiled sadly, walking over to her friend, linking arms with her.
"Of course we want to see you again! Are you crazy? Me and Beast Boy have been crushing on you for as long as we have lived! You're the most well known Princess in the world! If Robin don't want you, we sure do." Cyborg replied, giving Raven's shoulder a squeeze. Ravens smile grew. She had never had any other friends besides Jinx… She knew it would be great.
They all cleaned up the mess they made, Starfire fixing the pillar back up again, while everyone else tried to make it look like nothing happened.
"Hey guys! I know it's late and all, but do you all wanna go down to the beach?" Jinx asked as she had rested her head on Ravens shoulder. They all gladly agreed, heading of to their rooms to get changed, leaving Raven and Jinx alone to themselves in front of their room. Jinx took Ravens hands in her own, looking into her eyes.
"Raven… are you sure about what you saw?" Jinx asked her.
"Definitely… I know you want me to live and grown old with you, but I would rather die young knowing I didn't make I mistake than live my life constantly worrying about whether I'm good enough or not." Raven replied, squeezing Jinx's hand. Jinx smiled sadly, placing a kiss on Raven's head and hugging her once more.
"That's a very mature decision, do you know that? You would make an amazing Queen." Jinx mumbled into Ravens shoulder as they embraced. Raven grinned, hugging Jinx tighter.
"I love you, sis."
"I love you more, J."
"Yo! Don't wanna break up this touching moment, but we need to go now if we don't want the guards to catch us." Cyborg interrupted. Raven and Jinx separated to see the other three Teens in front of them. Raven grabbed Jinxs arm and pulled her along.
"Wait! We're in our night gowns." Jinx objected as they ran down the staircase.
"I know! That's what makes it more fun!" Raven Whispered as they all drew their hoods up.
Robin watched as His friends and his true love sneaked out the palace. His gut churned. How could he have done that to her? Normally he wouldn't care what he did with women, but Raven was his damn soulmate! They were connected in ways that no one has ever been connected to another person before.
"Leave her." Terra stated, standing beside him. He angered, realizing she was the reason Raven was about to risk her life. This bitch.
"Why don't YOU leave ME. You're the reason this has happened! What the hell were you thinking? I'm an ENGAGED MAN!" He yelled at her, infuriated. Terra stood there unfazed.
"No, I'm not. YOU didn't stop ME. Want to know why? Because you cant give up your ways. And your attraction to me is still evident. Don't try to fool yourself." She smirked.
"What attraction? We became friends because you couldn't handle not being around me after we broke up! You don't seem to understand that, Besides Raven, I can't love anyone else, it's impossible! So you better get used to the idea of me marrying someone who isn't you, cause it's about to happen whether you like it or not." Robin stated, going back to his room and grabbing his coat. He wasn't about to give up on Raven this easily. He was not about to risk their only chance at happiness for a stupid bitch.
"Where the hell are you going?" Terra called as she watched him run down the staircase.
"I'm going to go and get my future wife." He replied with a smug grin before throwing up his hood.
