Miracle City

A spicy cesspool of crime and villainy...
Or at least that's how it used to be.

Now it's a shining metropolis of law abiding citizens.

How did it come to pass? You may ask.
Well that is a good question.
It all began on that fateful day when Manny Rivera better known as El Tigre made a startling discovery about his girlfriend...

"Ah-Ha! I knew it!" Frida gloated with malicious satisfaction. As she pointed at her long time adversary Zoe Aves. Zoe wearing her Black Cuervo outfit, the signature look of her family's criminal gang the Flock of Fury, only without her helmet. Which is now being held by Frida.

"Zoe? Say it ain't so," Manny pleaded with his girlfriend of the past couple of months.

"Manny I," Zoe trying to find the words but couldn't. So instead she activates her jet packs and rockets off into the sky, but not before giving Frida a death glare and swearing 'vendetta'.

Not that Frida noticed since she was too busy doing a victory dance while singing the 'I was right' song. "So now that little miss third wheel has finally come off, what do you want to do? Go to the arcade? Throw some trash at homeless?" Frida eager to go back to how things were before Manny and Zoe started dating.

"Zoe and I used to go to the arcade...and she loved throwing trash at at..." Manny trying really hard to hold back his tears.

"Oh come on Manny. So Zoe is Cuervo. It's not like it's the end of the world." Frida trying to get her best friend to snap out of it.

"Sorry Frida, but I think I need to be alone right now!" Manny twirls his belt buckle transforming into his alter ego El Tigre. Using his chain claws to swing across the city.

"OK I GUESS I'LL JUST TAKE THE BUS HOME THEN! ALONE!" Frida yelled after him. "Man what's with him? You'd think that I did something wrong or something?" she mumbled to herself.

Manny made his way over the rooftops with no real destination in mind. He just wanted to run from what he just witness. Wishing that he could just go back to being blissfully ignorant of Zoe's double life. Sadly no matter how hard he ran, he could not leave his memories behind. Even worst, every time he recalls one of his dates with Zoe, he could only see her as Black Cuervo now.

Before long, Manny had to stop due to exhaustion. Catching his breath, he couldn't help but feel that the roof he landed on seems familiar. "Oh no," he groaned after realizing that this is the very roof where he used to meet with Black Cuervo back when they were dating.

"Surprise to see you here," Zoe/Cuervo snipped standing right behind him. Still in her Flock of Fury costume, and still without her helmet.

"Zoe! I mean Cuervo!" Manny startled to see his girlfriend/rival here as well.

"What are you doing here Tigre? This is my moping spot." Zoe said softly. Her tone caused Manny's stomach to sink with guilt. As she would usually only call him Tigre whenever he did something to upset her.

"Hey it's a free country," Manny countered. "At least I think it is. I don't think we covered that in school yet." Confusing himself due to his lack of paying attention in class.

Zoe couldn't help but giggle a bit. His ignorant naivety is one of the things she loves about him. Seeing her smile helped him feel a bit better as well. "So what do we do now?" Zoe getting back to the topic at hand.

Pulling his mask back so that they can talk face to face. Just like how his father does. He felt that he owes her that much, but at the same time not wanting to leave himself vulnerable in case she attacks him. "We could just forget about this and go back to just being friends." Manny suggested.

"You know that's never going to work. Frida will never allow us to be friends. She's probably out there already telling everyone in Miracle City about my secret identity." Zoe pointed out. She didn't want to mention that she didn't want to just be friends with him.

"Oh right," Manny had to agree. Knowing that Frida would never miss out on a chance to humiliate Zoe. "Wait, if everyone knows that your family is the Flock of Fury, does that mean you'll have to leave town?" Manny realized.

"Nah, Frida isn't the most trusted person in Miracle City. So it won't take much to convince everyone that she's lying again." Zoe chuckling at how she and her grandmother humiliated Frida the first time she tried to rat out Zoe as Cuervo.

"That's good," Manny breathing a sigh of relief. As much as he is hurt by Zoe's betrayal, he doesn't want to see her gone.

Seeing that Manny still cares about her gave her hope that there may still be a chance for them. "You know there is no real reason why we can't continue relationship?" Zoe purred seductively as she started snuggling up to him.

"NO!" Manny yelped pushing her back. "Look Zoe, I like you. But I also don't like Cuervo."

"Why not?" Zoe asked. "Not only are we one and the same, just like you and Tigre, but I do recall how much fun we had back in the day." Zoe showing Manny the necklace he made for her from a nut back when he tried to manipulate her into revealing the Flocks' secrets. It genuinely surprise him that she kept it.

"Well true," Manny blushed. He had to admit that he did have a lot of fond memories from those days, and if he was being truly honest with himself, Black Cuervo was his first crush. Sadly that only brought him back to the reason why he just can't. "Sorry Zoe," he apologized. The hopeful glow in her face sagged as disappointment set in. "It's not that I don't like you...It's just that I don't think that I should date any villains. No matter how cute and amazing they are."

"Not date villains? Does that mean you've decided to become a hero then?" Zoe asked. Blushing after hearing him call her cute and amazing.

"No not that," Manny shook his head. "It's just that this good and evil thing... AAAGGGHHH! How can I put it? It just feels like the world is forcing me in to making a choice that I don't want! You understand?" Manny screamed in frustration since he doesn't really understand it himself.

"I understand," Zoe said rubbing her watch. The source of her powers.

"How can you? Your entire family are all villains. You didn't have to choose." Manny argued.

"But I do understand how it feels to be forced into the family business," Zoe countered. "Ever since I got my powers everyone expected me to a villain. A member of the Flock of Fury. I had no say in the matter. You at least do, and I envy that about you." she confessed.

Manny never considered that. He'd always assumed that it was easier to come from a family of just villains or a family of just heroes. Taking the decision part out of the equation and being groomed to follow in the family business. It never crossed his mind that this also meant not having the freedom to live ones' own life. "You know you could always try to be the first heroic flock?" Manny suggested.

"Ha ha ha ha! Are you kidding me? My mami and grandmami would tear me apart!" Zoe laughed. "Still might be worth it just to see the looks on their faces." Zoe said sadly dreaming of that scenario.

"I guess no matter what we're trapped," Manny sighed as he snuggled up to Zoe. Feeling a kinship with her that he never felt before.

Hearing that and feeling the warmth of his embraced gave Zoe an unusual idea. "You know, what if there is a third choice?" Zoe asked.

"Huh? What do you mean?" Manny wondered. Silently Zoe smiled as she removed her watch and held it over the edge of the building. It took a moment to for him to realize what she was implying. "You can't be serious!" He sputtered in disbelief.

"Why not?" Zoe asked. "Why not just give it all up for normal lives? If we throw away our items of power we can say goodbye to heroes and villains forever."

"Can we do that?" Manny pondered. As far as he knows, no one has ever willingly gave up their powers. After all, why would they? They are just too cool and macho. Recalling how dull life was when he was forced to give up his powers in family therapy; and yet Manny can also recall a time, when he had a mustache, how happy and fulfilling he felt having a nine to fiver. Getting rewarded for doing a good job (unlike when he does something heroic) without having to feel guilty over doing anything evil (like what always happens when does something villainous). So maybe it might not be so bad being normal, but on the other hand cool superpowers? Looking into Zoe's eyes he could see the mischief behind her smile, practically daring him to do something stupid...

A few days later in another section of Miracle City

"I know that this is all your fault!" Voltura accused, swiping at White Pantera.

"How is this my fault?" Pantera shot back as he barely dodged her attack.

"It's always your fault! You Rivera men cause nothing but trouble. That is why I broke up with you in High School." Voltura snuffed.

"I broke up with you," Pantera reminded her.

"AS IF I COULD EVER FORGET!" Voltura screeched. It has been a couple of days since Manny and Zoe disappeared. Out of desperation, the Riveras and the Aves called a truce and agreed to work together until they find their kids.

"Please can we focus on finding the kids?" Puma Loco pleaded.

"Yes this bickering is pointless and getting annoying," Lady Gobbler agreed. "But afterwards then we'll skin you both alive," she threatened the two Rivera men. Just then her cane started beeping. "It's Cuervo's GPS! This way!" Gobbler guiding the group.

They made their way across the city and soon found themselves at the city dump. "Ew, figures that slob of a boy would bring my precious daughter here," Voltura gagged.

"Hey..." Pantera about to protest. "Okay he may be a slob but he wouldn't willingly bring a girl here. Even if she's your daughter."

"Enough messing about they're here," Gobbler announced pointing her cane to a trash pile.

"Where?" everyone demanded.

"I don't get it," Gobbler smacking her cane hoping that it's not on the fritz again. That's when they noticed a second set of beeping coming from the trash pile. It was coming from an small cardboard box. Carefully opening it they were startled to find Tigre's belt buckle of power and Cuervo's watch all smashed up. In addition there was also a letter with the items. it simple read:

We Quit

Along with a badly drawn picture of Manny and Zoe sticking their tongues out at their parents.

"QUIT!? SHE CAN'T QUIT!" Voltura yelled. Grabbing the box containing the items of power and throwing it in anger.

"Can they do that?" Puma Loco asked his son.

"No one has ever done that before," Pantera noting his own hypocrisy on how he's suppose to be retired yet he still superheroing on the side.

"Oh when I get my hands on that girl of mine, I'll TEAR HER APART!" Voltura raged. Before anyone could say anything more, she and Lady Gobbler took to the skies. Leaving the Rivera men behind.

"We better hurry and find Manny before they do," Puma Loco advised. Knowing that Voltura's fury won't end with just her daughter.

"Yes but where do we start looking?" Pantera wondered. Now realizing just how little he knows about his son's habits and interests.

"Maybe we should see if Maria has seen them?" Puma Loco suggested.

Normally Pantera would be overjoyed to have any excuse to see his ex-wife, but not this time. "Are you mad! Do you have any idea what Maria will do to us when she hears that we lost Manny? It will be worst that whatever Voltura has planned!" Pantera panicked. Puma gulped nervously seeing his son's point. Seeing no other choice, they began searching the city randomly.

Ironically miles away inside Maria Rivera's mansion. Manny and Zoe were holding hands while staring out the window in the direction of the city dump. "Do you think they got our message yet?" Manny wondered. He didn't have to wait long for an answer after seeing a trail of colored smoke rocketing towards the sky.

"I'd say they just got it," Zoe sighed sadly rubbing her wrist where she once wore her watch. "Do you think they'll learn to respect our decision?"

"Of course they will," Manny trying desperately to sound more confident than he felt. "After all for all our faults, we are all familia. We always love and respect each other no matter what. Just not right now." Manny sweating over the hypocrisy of that statement as they are currently hiding from their families.

That's when Zoe noticed that Manny was fidgeting with his new normal belt buckle and knew that this was just as awkward for him as it is for her. Even though this is what she wanted, she still feels guilty about betraying her family and she knows that Manny feels the same as well. She can only hope that they can support each other during this trying time until things hopefully get better. A few minutes later Manny's mother came Maria walked in. "Oh Ms. Rivera, thank you for letting us stay here," Zoe thanked.

"Think nothing of it," Maria happily hugging the kids. "I just wish more heroes and villains make the same choice you just did," Maria supporting their decision. Although she is a little bothered about Manny inviting his girlfriend to live with him in her house.

News of El Tigre's decision spread fast. Through out the city people were not only surprise by his decision but also confused by it as well. Not understanding how anyone could give up their powers. Some villains were overjoyed at the thought of never having to fight El Tigre anymore but at the same time others were sad that they'll never get a rematch with him. Most debating on whether or not it's worth beating him up now that he's powerless. Bookies all over the city were making bank since no one placed any bets on Manny actually giving up his powers to live a normal life. Already there are several new bets being made on how long or soon it will be before he takes up the mantle of Tigre again.

Needless to say the one most effected by this is Frida Suarez. Outraged by not only the fact that Manny gave up his powers, which is bad enough in it's self, but that he's still dating Zoe Aves has pushing her over the edge! Even worst, hearing that Zoe gave up her powers as well meant Frida lost the chance to prove to everyone that she is Black Cuervo. Naturally Frida channeled her pent up rage into her music and soon developed a following for her very angry metal style. Enough to earn her a record deal. So it came as a surprise to no one that she would end up dropping out of school to pursue a music career.

In order to better hide from villains that might come after them for revenge, Maria suggested that they change their names with her as their legal guardian. However while trying to come up with a new surname they accidentally submitted the same name on their applications, Avera. Thus Manny Avera and Zoe Avera (No Relation) were officially born. In addition Zoe combed her hair back allowing people to see both of her eyes. While Manny just put on a pair of Clark Kent glasses. These minutiae changes were enough to convince everyone what they were completely different people.

Surprisingly Zoe and Manny's school life from then onward have been relatively peaceful. With the exception of constantly having to tell people that they are not related. In another case of strange irony, neither the Riveras or the Aves bothered to check the school for the kids. Thinking that school would be the last place either of them would go. After months of not being able to find any trace of the kids, both the Riveras and the Aves concluded that they must not be in the city anymore. Prompting both families to leave Miracle City and search the rest of the world.

After barely being able to graduate from High School, Manny opted not to go to college. Or as he would put it, "Whatever would make you think that I'd want to go to 4 more years of school". Naturally Zoe, not wanting to be separate from Manny for too long, didn't go to college as well. Being too ambitious and greedy for most low paying dead end jobs, but unwilling to go back to a life of crime, the pair brainstorm a possible business venture. One that would take advantage of their special skills and talents. Coming from criminal backgrounds, they both had insight into the villains' mindset and a familiarity to most of their MO. Using this knowledge, they quickly founded their own security firm 'Catbird Protection' or CbP for short. Their patented security system proved to be highly effective. Able to stop 90% of all break-ins and robberies. Even those committed by top tier villains like El Oso and Senor Siniestro.

The success of their company brought the couple incredible wealth, but is also caused Miracle City to go into a deep recession as 90% of the population are criminals. This led to many of the villains to attack CbP headquarters for revenge. Without even stopping to realize that they are attacking the very company that makes the security systems that thwarted them in the first place. (Yeah villains aren't too bright) Resulting many of the criminals being caught without Manny or Zoe having to lift a finger. After the assault failed, Manny was able to convince many the villains to go straight like he did. A concept that never crossed their minds but without any other options, they were willing to give it a go. The adjustment was tough at first, having to do real work but they soon adapted. What's more, with so many new legitimate employees in the workforce, the government received more tax money than ever before. Which they used for much needed repairs and renovations around the city. Creating even more new jobs for the ex-criminals. Making Miracle City the shining metropolis that it is today.

After things settled down, Many and Zoe got married and soon were blessed with a trio of kids. Their eldest son Carlos Avera age 12, their daughter Maria Avera age 9, and youngest son Pablo Avera age 7. They both agreed to keep superhero/villain origins hidden to give their kids a chance at a normal life. Unfortunately dark secrets, especially the family legacy kind, never stay buried forever...

One dark night at the Miracle City pier several explosions could be seen and heard for kilometers around. Caused by a clash between what looks like a glowing red robotic suit with a silhouette of the pilot in the cockpit, and a girl in a black bird costume with pink wings and an Egyptian headdress.

"You'll never get away with this Glitch Griffon! Crime never pays!" the bird girl quoted. Blasting the robotic suit with her arm laser. Every hit that she made seems to cause the robot suit to start glitching.

"Oh my dear Pink Sphinx. Don't you get tired of spouting those outdated cliches?" Glitch Griffon mocked as he fired several mini missiles at her.

"They are not outdated they are classics!" Pink Sphinx dodging the missiles. "And classics , just like justice, are eternal!" Suddenly out of nowhere, someone or something struck her from the side, sending her crashing into several shipping containers!

"Oh please stop with your constant pontificating," the one that punched her hissed. He appeared to be a young boy dressed in black cat costume with a set of grey wings, and the strangest thing of all, he has a snake for a tail. The snake tail seems to have a mind of its own as it hissed angrily at Pink Sphinx.

"Ah you remember my faithful minion Crazy Chimera," Glitch Griffon introduced.

"Crazee for short," Crazee chuckled.

"Indeed. He gave me quite a thrashing when we first met!" Sphinx coughed.

"Yes, and I'm quite surprised that you still came here to face us after that humiliating defeat." Griffon gloated.

"And they call me crazy! I mean I am, but you must be insane." Crazee laughed.

"What is the definition of insanity?" Sphinx asked. "It's doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result," she quoted as she pulls out a collapsible staff with an ankh decoration at one end. "And that's not me. You think I didn't learn anything from our last encounter? You think I wouldn't have something prepared? Hah! You will rue this day as I bring forth my CHAMPION!" Raising her staff into the air as if expecting something to happen. "Uh champion? Champs, that's your cue! Where are you?" Sphinx tapping her communicator.

"Is something suppose to happen?" Crazee wondered. Looking around curiously.

"I don't know what you are planning but I won't let you get the chance!" Griffon and Crazee both pouncing at Pink Sphinx!

"Champs you idiot," Sphinx whispered angrily as she crouched down into a defensive stance preparing for the hit. Then just as Griffon and Crazee were about to strike, a flash of blue light pushed Griffon and Crazee back. Sphinx looked to see a mysterious new figure standing next to her. He had a similar black suit like Sphinx only instead of wings, he had a cape that looks like a whale's tail. He also is wearing a falcon mask but with cat ears added on top.

"Forgive my tardiness my lady, but I had a hard time finding this place. The water is very dirty down there." The new boy apologized helping Sphinx up.

"We'll talk about your lack of punctuality later," Sphinx swore. "But I'm just glad you are here." she added gratefully.

"Who are you?" Griffon demanded after getting his bearings back.

"Oh sorry how rude of me," the boy said as he got into a heroic pose. "I am Pink Sphinx's new sidekick, the Champion Chimera! You can just call me Champs if you want."

"CHIMERA! You can't call yourself chimera! I'm chimera! I've already call dibs." Crazee complained while hiding in the shadows. His voice echoing around the docks making it hard to pin point him.

"Oh no he's doing that stealth thing of his again. I hate it when he does that." Sphinx warned as she quickly scanned around trying to determine where he might strike from.

"Yeah he's kind of creepy that way," Griffon agreed.

"Don't worry my lady, my heighten senses I should be able to track him." Champs perked his ears up as if listening for any sound. "There!" Pointing to a random shadowy area behind some crates. Without waiting for a response, Champs charged into the shadow. A small struggle could be heard followed by Crazee being knocked out of the shadows. Shocking both Sphinx and Griffon. Amazed that Champs found Crazee so easily.

"How did you find me?" Crazee demanded.

"I posses the powers of several different animals. So spotting you is like hunting a rabbit. It's a piece of cake. That is the power of the Chimera." Champs bragged still hidden in the shadows.

"Well then let me show you my Chimera powers," Crazee hissed as he extended his claws with his snake tail drooling venom. "And we'll see which one of us is the true Chimera!" Crazee quickly rushed back into the shadows. As the two Chimeras fought, Sphinx and Griffon turn towards each other. Without saying another word, the two adversaries resumed their battle as well!

This event will forever mark the day that the citizens of Miracle City have been dreading. After more than a decade of peace and prosperity, the Superheroes and Villains returned...

Character Profiles

Pink Sphinx
sex: female
age: appears to be preteen
affiliation: hero

appearance:

She wears a black suit similar to the type worn by the Flock of Fury, only with pink wings and pink talons. The two main differences is a massive decorative gold necklace that makes it look like she's wearing some kind of breastplate and a nemes headdress with a pink visor over her eyes.

powers and abilities:

Much like the Flock of Fury, she can fly at great speed. Her wings are made of strong light metal which she can also use as a shield. She is equipped with one laser blaster on her left arm. The laser itself is at a low setting. Only stunning its target without causing too much collateral damage. Which makes it almost useless when facing heavily armored enemies. She also carries an ankh style collapsible staff for melee combat. While she does have sharp talons, she rarely uses them in battle. Her preferred fighting style is the dancing Capoeira.

personality:

While it may seem that Pink Sphinx has a strong sense of justice, more often she just likes to beat people up and prefers said people to be criminals. True to her namesake, when engaging criminals she would often try to confuse and/or confound them by quoting riddles or some old TV/movie catchphrase. Likewise if anyone should ask her a riddle that she doesn't know the answer to, she will temporarily pause to think of the answer leaving her vulnerable. However you should avoid trying to trick her with unanswerable riddles such as "Why is a raven like a writing desk?" as it will cause her to go berserk.

Champion Chimera aka Champs
sex: male
age: possibly early teen
affiliation: sidekick

appearance:

He mainly wears a black suit with a blue cape and cowboy boots. The cape somewhat resembles a whale's tail but he insist that it is a dolphin tail. His mask mostly appears to be a falcon but the top part looks like it has cat ears. He also has solid steel claws and a silver belt buckle with a strange 'C' design.

powers and abilities:

He likes to claim that as a chimera he possess the powers of a tiger, falcon, and dolphin. Pretty much giving him dominion of air, sea, and land. Not only can he fly, run, and swim at incredible speed, he can also stay under water for up to ten minutes. He can fire his steel claws like mini missiles. He also has heighten senses allowing him to see and/or hear things that are nearly invisible. Champs is highly athletic, using a mixed martial arts style of combat. Mainly mimicking various techniques from different fighting styles and sometimes even incorporating sporting moves in his attacks.

personality:

Champs is shown to be extremely loyal to Pink Sphinx. Often calling her 'my lady' or 'my queen'. It is rumored that he originally wanted to be called Macho Manticore but Sphinx renamed him Champion Chimera. Claiming that she didn't want to over inflate his ego by calling him Macho all the time. A bit over dramatic, he often goes into heroic poses when engaging criminals. He has a strong sense of honor based in good sportsmanship and can't stand it when he is accused of cheating. This often results in him challenging his accusers to one on one duels. Much to Sphinx's chagrin as the villains would usually cheat putting Champs at a disadvantage. He has a strange rivalry with Crazy Chimera seemingly over the fact that they are both calling themselves Chimera.

Glitch Griffon
sex: unknown due to no one able to see the pilot but most believe he's male
age: unknown for the same reason as above
affiliation: villain

appearance:

He's usually seen using a glowing red robotic suit with cat ears and wings that slightly resembles Puma Loco. Because of this, it is rumored that he might be a Rivera but thus far unproven. The cockpit dome is heavily tinted so you can only see a silhouette of the pilot. Leaving much of his identity unknown. Griffon's suit is a solid holographic construct. While seemingly indestructible, it is highly vulnerable to electronic interference, such as Pink Sphinx's lasers, which compromises the suit's integrity causing it to glitch and possibly derezz. The only physical component is the central computer core that projects the suit's image. If it is damaged in any way or runs out of power, the suit will vanish. The core is usually based inside the cockpit making it very difficult to reach from the outside.

powers and abilities:

As a holographic construct, Glitch Griffon can manifest any tools or weapons that's preprogrammed into his computer. He can even download any equipment off the internet if need be. Though he rarely does this in the middle of combat as it takes forever to download. While this gives him an impressive arsenal, use of the weapons cause a considerable drain on his power supply. So he limits the use of his weapons as much as possible. His suit can even make any interface allowing him to hack any system with relative ease. Including those protected by CbP security. Ironically he also uses CbP cyber security as well to protect his own systems against hackers and viruses stating that it is the best one on the market.

personality:

Glitch Griffon has a bratty personality. Often throwing a tantrum whenever things don't go his way or when his minions aren't doing what he ordered. He gets especially annoyed with Pink Sphinx as he rarely understands the slang terminologies that comes from the old catchphrases she keeps quoting. Often demanding that she talk like a normal person. The only person he seems close to is Crazy Chimera. As Glitch is surprisingly civil towards him and usually curbs his temper when Crazee fails or questions his authority. There are times where is seems that he may actually fear Crazee. Often calling him creepy whenever Crazee uses his stealth to sneak up behind him.

Crazy Chimera aka Crazee
sex: male
age: possibly early teens
affiliation: minion

appearance:

Crazy Chimera wears a black suit with a cat mask. Similar to Flock of Fury he has retractable grey wings, but unlike them his jetpack is surprisingly silent and leaves very little smoke behind. He also has steel claws and a silver belt buckle, only with a backward 'C'. His most distinguishing feature is that instead of a cat tail, he has a snake. The snake tail seems to have a mind of its own as it is able to move around by itself and hiss at things that that Crazee don't like.

powers and abilities:

While he's never told anyone what his actual animal powers are, it is generally believed to be the owl, snake, and black cat. Animals renown for their stealth. Able to move quickly and quietly in the shadows, most won't notice him until he's right behind them. Even most radars and tracking systems can't detect him. His snake powers allow him to twist and bend in unnatural ways to squeeze and slither through openings that he normally wouldn't be able to fit through. Speaking of snakes, his snake tail can strike out biting his opponent and injecting them with venom. It is also elastic, able to stretch about 10 meters long. Which he can use as a whip and is his primary mid-range weapon of choice.

personality:

Not much is known about him since he rarely interacts with anybody. Only that he does whatever Glitch Griffon orders him to do without question, usually. Causing many to wonder about their relationship. Normally cool and level headed, he gets offended when someone calls him a coward. Prompting him to lash out at whoever it is. He also has a rivalry with Champion Chimera seemingly due to them having the name Chimera. Though it might be because Champs is the only one able to detect him in his stealth mode. Making him the greatest threat.

A/N: I hope you enjoyed this first chapter featuring a new generation of Riveras and Aves. I always thought it would be cool if Manny and Zoe got together that their children would have winged-cat themed alter egos. Fortunately for me, mythologies are full of such creatures that I can use. As for the reason to Manny ultimate decision of giving up his powers. That was inspired by the Star Wars character Darovit (Tomcat) from the Star Wars comic Jedi vs Sith. A young padawan who failed both as a Jedi and Sith and ended being an ordinary person. Since Manny is also a failure as a hero and a villain, maybe being nonpowered human might be best for him as well. The next few chapters will focus on the kids and how they got their superpowers. See you next time.
