Tumblr Prompt- "Tea" from Anon
Suggested E/C, slight Nadiry, canon-ish

The echo of fist against wood jolted the silent night which surrounded him and he stepped back just as the door swung open. Keen brown eyes stared back, unflinching inter initial appraisal and softening with recognition a moment laters. A course voice followed, quiet, but not unkind. "You have him, then?"

He supressed a sigh, but nodded, gesturing somewhere behind him. "Out of sight for the moment, but yes." A pause. "And the girl?"

A quick glance back in the house before returning to him. "Settled in the sitting room with a blanket and a fire."

Silence stretched between them, each having done their part of delivery the necessary parties to the point of no return. There was a reckoning to be had and, they hoped, healing to be done. But whatever was to be, it began with the reluctant reunion of two stubborn hearts.

Stepping back, she inclined her head in invitation. "Would you care to come inside, Mr. Kahn? Something tells me we're all in for a long night and I am sure you do not wish to spend it entirely on my doorstep."

His edges of his mouth tipped up as he stepped into her flat, removing his hat as another party shoved unceremoniously passed, fully cloaked and surprisingly stealthy. Two pairs of eyes watched the figure disappear round the corner with the enthusiasm of a man being led to the gallows. His companion's eyes fell shut for only a moment before opening mere seconds later with a fresh resolute light. "You may join them,Mr. Kahn. I shall only be a moment."

Reaching past him, she shut and locked the door, then turned toward the kitchen. "I believe tea is required for this little tete a tete. Would you care for some?" Her gaze flicked up to meet his green eyes. "I may still have some chai left from your last visit?"

He dipped his head in assent, noting the way her prim mouth quirked slightly as she gave him a perfunctory nod and turned down the hall. His own grin materialized as he shrugged out of his coat and made his way to the sitting room, recalling her surprise delight at the earthy aroma, how her eyes had brightened when he kept her supplied.

He would never admit to her, of course, he could't stand the stuff.
