Ghastly and Anton are alive, Erskine isn't evil and China is Grand Mage. Based after Midnight I guess but Valkyrie doesn't have ptsd about Darquesse. Skuldgerry has a full body facade that he can turn on and off.

General pov

Valkyrie awoke to her phone ringing. She sat up grumbling and rubbing her eyes. She answered and heard a deep, velvety voice.

"Good morning"

"Skul it's ten o'clock"

"And?"

"I was asleep unlike you its something I need"

"Oh well I apologise for waking you. We have to go to the Sanctuary today. China says we have a case, so you better get dressed."

Valkyrie sighed and tumbled out of bed, got dressed and went downstairs. She looked up to see a skeleton in her hallway.

"Skuldgerry what are you doing in my house."

"I thought I'd come pick you up."

She glared at him and went into the kitchen and started to make breakfast. She opened the cupboard and a box of cereal fell out and it spilled on top of her. She groaned, slammed the cupboard shut and turned to see Skuldgerry looking at her with an amused expression on his face. Well as amused as a skeleton could look. Valkyrie glared at him

"I hate you"

"Me? How could you hate me I'm wonderful?"

She said nothing and brushed Rice Krispies out of her hair.

"What's the case about?"

"I don't know yet China said to come to the Sanctuary and she'd tell us"

Awhile later when Valkyrie was fed and all traces of Rice Krispies were gone they got into the Bently and drove to Roarhaven. When they arrived the administrator rushed over and lead them to the Room of Prisms. As they walked people kept giving Valkyrie wierd looks. She just glared back at them wondering why they were staring at Skuldgerry.

"Skul they're staring at you", she whispered.

"No they're staring at you not me"

"Why?"

"No reason" Skuldgerry said smirking.

"Why are you smirking? What did you do?"

Skuldgerry didn't answer as they had reached their destination. They walked in and they both simultaneously bowed,"Your Royal Highness" Skuldgerry said sarcastically.

China glared at them,"You know I hate the formalities, now Valkyrie get over here and give me a hug".

Valkyrie rushed over to China and they hugged eachother. "Now Valkyrie I would like you to know that you have Rice Krispies in your hair." Valkyrie swung around and punched Skuldgerry in the jaw. "Ow, surely that was unnecessary".

Valkyrie scowled, "WHY didn't you tell me i have Rice Krispies IN MY HAIR!"

China winced at how loud they were being. When Valkyrie had finished lecturing Skuldgerry China told them about the case.

"You will be going on a roadtrip and-",

Before China could finish Valkyrie squealed. China had an amused expression on her face while Valkyrie jumped up and down in excitement.

"Where are we going? Who are we going with? Is it a holiday? What car are we going in? Is Tanith coming?", before Valkyrie could stop herself all these questions came pouring out of her mouth. Skuldgerry was doubled over laughing while China was merely smiling.

"As I was saying you shall be going with the rest of the dead men and Tanith Low. You shall be traveling to the south of Ireland with several stops on the way. When you reach Cork you will be getting on a plane and flying to France where you will be staying for two weeks." As China finished speaking a young man dressed from head to toe in red came rushing over and whispered something into China's ear. A flicker of annoyance flashed across her face.

" I have been called away as there is a emergency. Valkyrie I shall call you later with more details", with that she turned and walked out of the room with the young man scurrying behind her.

Skuldgerry and Valkyrie got into the Bently and drove to Ghastly's shop. They pulled up outside and they got out. Valkyrie saw Tanith's motorcycle parked nearby and then walked up to the door and knocked. A young blond mage opened the door, greeted Valkyrie and beconed them inside. Tanith had barely closed the door before Valkyrie jumped on her wrapping her in a hug.

"I haven't seen you in ages".

Tanith laughed and hugged her back. Skuldgerry coughed and they let go of each other. Valkyrie looked around the room and saw Dexter Vex sitting on the couch looking smug. Valkyrie leaped on to him giving him a hug. She got up and sat next him.

Tanith's Pov

I watched as Valkyrie jumped on Dexter and hugged him. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Skuldgerry clenching his fist and muttering angrily. I struggled not to laugh. Skuldgerry Pleasant was jealous. I shook my head and realised, he was jealous of Dex because Valkyrie sat on top of him. Oh my god. Does he like VaI? I decided I would confront him later.

General Pov

Valkyrie looked up and saw Ghastly sitting in an armchair nearby. His face was bright red and he looked angry.

"Ghastly what's wrong?"

Ghastly blushed harder. Tanith laughed.

"He got jealous because Dex was flirting with me," Tanith said. Valkyrie burst out laughing and soon the two girls were rolling around the floor laughing. Skuldgerry shook his head and walked over and patted Ghastly on the back. Saracen Rue walked into the room, saw the two girls on the floor laughing and clutching each other, Dexter on the couch looking very smug with a slight blush creeping up his face and Skuldgerry patting Ghastly on the back with his other fist clenched, glaring at Dexter and Ghastly hunched over in his chair, face a deep crimson, glaring threateningly at Dexter.

"Right. Umm. I think we all need a cup of tea." Saracan said in a cheerful voice and proceeded to sprint to the kitchen. When Valkyrie and Tanith had recovered and were trying not to look at each other for fear of bursting into laughter again Saracen came back in with five cups of tea and set them down on the coffee table. He sat down on the couch with Dexter and looked at Skuldgerry who was blatantly staring at him. Skuldgerry coughed and activated his facade. Everyone gasped as a tall, skinny man with bright green eyes and dark hair appeared infront of them. Valkyrie almost dropped her tea.

"That suits you", Tanith said.

Everyone continued chatting as if nothing happened and Skuldgerry went into the kitchen to attempt to make a cup of tea. Valkyrie was still in shock. She thought that he looked handsome although she'd never admit it to him. Tanith caught her staring at the place where he'd last been. Tanith grinned and was about to start teasing her but Valkyrie's phone rang. Valkyrie got up and went outside.

Valkyrie's Pov

As I closed the door behind me I answered and heard China's voice.

"Hello?"

"Hi China. What's up?"

"Where are you?"

"Uh... Ghastly's. Why?"

"Okay. Is Anton with you?"

"No"

"Okay, Anton should be with you soon- what do you want?"

"China?"

"Okay Erskine said he'll be with you in ten minutes. Your leaving tommorow and you'll be gone for about three weeks. Think of it as a holiday. Also Erskine will be coming with the car. Goodbye."

And with that China hung up. Valkyrie made a face and went inside.

Tanith's Pov

I watched as Val got up and left to answer her phone. I quickly stood up thinking that this was my chance. I practically ran into the kitchen. I saw Skuldgerry leaning against the counter waiting for the kettle to boil. I sat down at the table and stared at him.

"Do you like Val?" I asked peering up at him.

"What? No!" he said looking at me aghast, but he had gone red. I smiled to myself.

"I don't believe you. You're lying aren't you."

"I-I don't like Val okay"

I laughed.

"Since when does Skuldgerry Pleasant stutter-" I was cut of by Valkyrie coming back inside. I gave him a little wave and left.

General Pov

After everyone sat down again there was a knock on the door. Tanith got up to answer it. When she opened the door Erskine Ravel and Anton Shudder came in. Anton greeted everyone and sat beside Saracen while Erskine sat on the couch next to Valkyrie. When everyone was settled Valkyrie told them what China said. As Valkyrie spoke an idea came to Tanith.

"Val"

Valkyrie looked over at Tanith who was staring at her.

"What?"

"Shopping".

And with that the two girls got up and left. Everyone one was more than a little confused. Saracen pouted,

"They could have taken me with them."

Skuldgerry shook his head and said "You do not ever want to go shopping with them. You'd be nothing but a bag carrier."

Ghastlys Pov

While playing poker Erskine started teasing Skuldgerry.

"Skully?"

"What Erskine?"

Erskine gave him a shit eating grin.

"No," Anton said glaring at Erskine. Erskine ignored him.

"Skully, do you like Val?"

Skuldgerry looked shocked. Anton picked Erskine up by the collar and dragged him out of the room.

"Why do people keep asking me that?"

Nobody answered him

When the girls returned they walked in to see the men playing poker. They were all teasing Skuldgerry about something. Skuldgerry quickly stood up and offered to drive Valkyrie home. All the men laughed. Valkyrie shrugged and accepted his offer. Skuldgerry helped Valkyrie put all of her bags in the Bently. They got in and drove away. Valkyrie noticed Skuldgerry looking at her out of the corner of his eye. She ignored it and started texting Tanith.

Val: Hi what r u doing

Tan: nothing rlly u?

V: Skully is driving me home

T: oooooohhhh

V:?

T: is he looking over ur shoulder

Valkyrie looked up and saw Skuldgerry looking at her phone. She moved away so he couldn't see.

V: not anymore y

T: nothing

V: tell me

T: no bye

Valkyrie sighed. She looked up as they pulled into her driveway. They got out and grabbed her bags. She unlocked the door and went inside with Skuldgerry following behind her. She took the bags off of him and put them in the kitchen. She walked over to him and gave him a hug. He stiffened but eventually he hugged her back. She looked up at him.

"Will you pick me up tomorrow?"

"Why of course dear Valkyrie"

She let go so she could punch him. After a bit of talking Skuldgerry groaned at the thought of having to pack so she just went to bed.
