General Pov
Valkyrie woke up and looked out the window. It was dark outside. She turned her head to see Tanith asleep next to her. She saw Dexter's head on Saracen's shoulder. They were both asleep. She smiled. She looked up to see Skuldgerry looking at her in the rear view mirror.
"What time is it?"
"Three am"
She groaned. She needed to get out and stretch.
"Skul?"
"Yeah?"
"Can I get out? I need to stretch. Also I'm hungry"
Skuldgerry sighed.
"I'll pull over at the next gas station"
Valkyrie nodded and pulled her phone out of her pocket. She hissed as the bright light filled the car. Tanith woke up hit her, and went back to sleep. Valkyrie shook her head and lowered the brightness. She heard someone whimper. She sat forward and saw Saracen practically on top of Dexter. She giggled. Valkyrie quickly took a picture. She sat back and started to play candy crush on her phone.
Valkyrie woke to Skuldgerry calling her. She must have fallen asleep.
"Do you still need to stretch?"
"Yeah"
"Well get out so"
She climbed out of the car. Skuldgerry got out and stood next to her. She saw they were in the parking lot of a twenty-four-hour gas station. They walked inside. Valkyrie squinted at the sudden light. She wandered over to the fridge. She grabbed a packet of energy drinks and a box of chocolates and dumped them into Skuldgerry's arms.
"Why are you making me carry these?"
"Because I don't want to carry them"
"But it's your food"
"But you're paying"
Skuldgerry tilted his head at her.
"I assume I'm going to have to pay for everything on this trip"
Valkyrie grinned slyly as she wondered over to the alcohol section. Skuldgerry quickly stood in front of her.
"Move"
"No"
"Skuldgerry it's four am, I'm not capable of dealing with your bullshit"
"But..."
"No. There is going to be a lot of alcohol involved in this trip already so you might as well embrace it"
Skuldgerry sagged and stepped out of her way.
She grabbed a six pack of beer and two bottles of wine. Skuldgerry sulked because he had to carry them too. She wondered over to the counter and Skuldgerry put her things down. She turned, walked to the front of the store and picked up every chocolate and sweet she could get her hands on. She brought them to the counter where the cashier and Skuldgerry were staring at her. She nudged Skuldgerry.
"Pay the nice man"
Skuldgerry sighed and paid while she was looking at magazines.
"No"
She turned towards him.
"What?"
"Your not buying anything else"
"But-"
"No"
Valkyrie glared at him and stomped back to the Bently. Skuldgerry followed her, carrying her mountain of confectionery. She climbed inside and sat back in her seat. Skuldgerry got in and continued to drive. She opened a packet of sweets and began to eat. Erskine woke up and looked at Valkyrie.
"Can I have some?"
Valkyrie jumped.
"Jesus Christ, I thought you were asleep"
"I was but I could sense the food"
Valkyrie raised an eyebrow but gave him the packet. Next to her Tanith started to snore. Valkyrie giggled, and pinched Tanith's nose. Tanith made a strangled sort of noise and woke up. She gulped down lungfulls of air while Valkyrie giggled uncontrollably. Tanith hit her arm.
"Ow! What the hell?"
Tanith glared at her. Valkyrie froze and looked at Erskine. He had chocolate all over his face, hands and on his jumper. He had eaten five chocolate bars, four packets of sweets and two energy drinks.
"ERSKINE, THOSE ARE MINE"
Valkyrie lunged at him, but was restrained by her seat belt. Erskine giggled. Skuldgerry growled at him.
"Erskine you dumbass, I bought them for Val, now I'm gonna have to buy her more"
Valkyrie took the rest of her food and shared it with Tanith, both of them glaring at him intensely.
Valkyrie woke to Tanith nudging her.
"What's happening?"
"We're stopping for a bit"
Valkyrie nodded and pulled out her phone to check the time. 1 pm. Tanith and Valkyrie got out of the car. They were stopped outside a gas station, with a few picnic tables nearby. Skuldgerry was sitting at one of them, on his phone. The girls walked over to him.
"Where are the others?"
"Inside"
Tanith nodded and guided Valkyrie towards the entrance of the store. Valkyrie was still a bit dazed as she was half asleep. They walked over to the deli and Tanith ordered both of them a chicken fillet roll. Ghastly came over carrying a sandwich and a beer. Tanith raised an eyebrow.
"Beer at one o'clock?"
Ghastly shrugged,
"It's never too early to get drunk"
Tanith nodded in agreement and they started to chat about the best kind of beer. Valkyrie got bored as she would just drink anything, so she began to wander around the store. She found Erskine almost immediately, with several packets of sweets in his hands. She glared at him. She walked over to Saracen and Dexter, who were discussing Pringles.
"The original are amazing"
Dexter glared at him
"No salt and vinegar"
"What the fuck? No."
"Yes"
Valkyrie shook her head.
"I agree with Saracen, original are superior"
Dexter scowled at her, grabbed four tubes of Pringles and stormed away. Saracen giggled and handed her the Pringles.
"I was lying, I prefer salt and vinegar"
She walked over to the cashier, paid for her food and went outside to Skuldgerry. She sat down across from him and began to eat.
"What is that?"
Skuldgerry looked at her with utter disgust.
"It's a chicken roll with lettuce and mayo. It's an Irish thing"
"Valkyrie, I'm Irish and I've never seen something like that in my life"
Valkyrie took a massive bite and continued to talk to Skuldgerry.
"Really? But they're sooo good"
"It doesn't matter how good it is, I've never seen that before"
Valkyrie continued to eat in silence. Dexter walked out of the store with alot of Pringles in his hands. He sat down next to Skuldgerry. Valkyrie looked up from her chicken roll to see Dexter glaring at her. She rolled her eyes and took the last bite of her roll. Tanith walked out with Ghastly, both of them carrying a beer. Tanith sat next to Valkyrie, cracked open her beer and began to eat. Erskine came out of the shop, with a large bag. Valkyrie presumed it was full of sweets. Valkyrie got up, dumped her rubbish and went over to the car. She opened the door and sat down in her seat.
"Hello"
"Holy Shit! Anton what the fuck?"
Anton smiled.
"Were you in the car this whole time?"
He nodded and went back to his book. Valkyrie glared at the back of his head. She unlocked her phone to see several missed calls for her mother. She ignored them deciding she'd deal with it later.
Tanith's Pov
I swallowed the last bite of my food and looked at Skuldgerry.
"Are you able to eat food now that you have the full facade?"
Skuldgerry shrugged,
"I honestly don't know"
I nodded, grabbed Ghastly's beer and poured it down Skuldgerry's throat. He choked and Ghastly frowned at me.
"My beer."
I smiled sweetly at him and turned back to Skuldgerry. He tilted his head.
"You almost killed me"
"You're fine."
Skuldgerry scowled at me, I ignored him and took a sip of my beer.
"I could've died. I'm too young to die"
Ghastly grabbed the beer out of my hand and chugged the rest of it.
"Hey!"
He looked at me solemnly,
"My beer"
Skuldgerry grabbed a Snickers off of Erskine. Erskine hissed at him.
"My precious"
Skuldgerry cautiously unwrapped it. He took a tiny bite and chewed it slowly. I giggled at his facial expressions.
"Is it good?"
He made a face.
"That is repulsive"
Erskine gasped at him.
"How dare you?"
Skuldgerry frowned,
"What did I do?"
"How DARE you say that!"
I looked at Dexter. He shrugged.
"Is he drunk, high or both?"
Skuldgerry stood up, threw away the Snickers and went over to the car. I snatched Erskine's bag and placed it in between Ghastly and I. Erskine squealed at me. Ghastly stood up abruptly, grabbed Erskine by the shoulders and shook him.
"Erskine Ravel, I don't know why you're doing this but you need to stop. Get a hold of yourself!"
Dexter and I giggled. Erskine looked suitably chastised. Ghastly released
him, and walked to the car. Dexter raised an eyebrow and looked at me.
"That was... chaotic to say the least"
General Pov
Valkyrie looked up from her phone. Skuldgerry was sitting next to her with beer on his shirt.
"Valkyrie, I almost died"
Valkyrie sat up abruptly. She looked panicked.
"Who did it? Can I kill them?"
"Tanith"
Valkyrie sighed. They did this all the time.
"What did she do now?"
"She made me drink beer"
"So? Is that what's on your shirt?"
"Yes it is. But she poured beer down my throat. I choked while she laughed at me. I'm to good to be laughed at."
Skuldgerry opened his mouth in shock. Something had dawned upon him.
"I drank something"
"Skuldgerry, that is irrelevant to this conversation"
"Valkyrie, you're missing the point. I drank something"
Valkyrie's eyes grew wide.
"So you can like eat stuff?"
"Well done for figuring it out, Val. I'm so proud. Ow. Why did you hit me, fantabulous me?"
Valkyrie hit him again in response. The door opened and Ghastly sat in his seat. He turned to look at the two of them.
"Tanith is gonna be mad that you're in her seat"
Skuldgerry shrugged.
"She's gonna have to deal with it. Can you drive? I'm tired"
"Skuldgerry you can't sleep."
"I'm mentally tired"
Ghastly muttered something under his breath. Valkyrie laughed.
"What did he say?"
"He said more like mentally challenged"
A/N lm almost finished reading Jane Eyre and it's sooo good. It's really difficult to understand because it was written so long ago. I was gonna add more to this chapter but I haven't uploaded in ages and it's almost 1am. I was kinda vibing though because I was listening to Hamilton. Also i hate snickers. And chicken fillet rolls. But i like Pringles.
