Since Hitomi had returned from Gaia, it has been a year. Although still seeing Van frequently in secret, family life and school pensum are taking its toll, and the girls' visits become increasingly rare, mainly for fear of raising suspicions. Irritated about this whole situation, the Farnelian king – seeking confrontation – even follows his lover back to earth.
And then it happens: a first kiss with unforeseen consequences.
Based on the TV show.
DISCLAIMER: I don't own Escaflowne.
Welcome to this little fanfiction of mine. I hadn't written anything for a very long time, but because I am actually planning on drawing some Escaflowne-Doujinshis in the near future, I thought I might as well check first if anyone would be interested in this or other stories. Also, I want to try out if I am capable to be in line with the original story and the characters.
"(Un)fortunate Kiss" mainly will be about romance with some humorous and drama elements, but if you are seeking adventure, I must disappoint you. It might even get a bit cheesy, haha! So just be warned. I am also working on a sequel, "(Un)fortunate Night", which will be more mature (yes, exactly what you are thinking of right now, and what the title is implying), but will also contain more drama elements and a story that is hopefully not too shallow.
If you may find my English a bit strange, I want to apologize, as it isn't my mother-tongue.
But for now, enough of my babbling. Hope you enjoy the story and thank you for reading!
If you would leave a comment on anything, you would make me a very happy person.
A lazy summer breeze rippled the tree-tops growing on the school grounds of the Kamakura-Kita-high, a crisp blue full of promises gracing this late Friday afternoons' sky. Even though most of the students were still engaged in class and club activities, day-dreaming about what they would do this upcoming weekend, one girl stood hidden behind a locker in the otherwise deserted school hallway.
Due to her teachers' sudden indisposition, the Second-Years' running-club activities had been cancelled for today, so she actually wasn't skipping classes, but still; getting caught during school hours just wouldn't do. Trying to concoct an excuse why she was tip-toing through the school and not heading back home for whatever laziness she should have planned out for the weekend only would consume too much time. And time was what she just couldn't seem to be able to afford recently. The auburn-haired girl flinched. It had been three and a half weeks since her last visit to Gaia. Nearly a month! Even though she had tried, tried really hard to not let it become longer than two weeks, she just hadn't managed. How comes that school stuff, family engagements and daily life recently just seemed to add up and engulf her more and more? Knowing that Van would be patiently waiting for her to visit next time, she just felt even more guilty. Oh, right.
He surely was waiting.
Concentrating once more on her quest lying ahead, she adjusted her hearing and decided that the teachers' trip to the toilet would take much longer than she had anticipated, and so it should be safe to take a chance getting to the staircase that would lead straight to the schools' roof top without being seen or heard. Trying to be as sneaky as possible while coming past the closed restroom door and climbing the stairs, she just reached the top in time when said door suddenly burst open again. With a victorious smile, she silently accessed the school roof. Not a minute later, embraced by the pillar of light like by an old friend, Hitomi vanished from the roof and reappeared right in front of the Farnelian king.
