Story Information

Summary

Izuku Midoriya was born Quirkless, yet still dreamed of being a hero. His wish came true when his heroic nature was witnessed and All Might chose him to be the next wielder of One For All. Training for two years to get ready, Izuku takes the first step in becoming a true hero as he starts UA. Expecting his life would have hardships, he didn't know how difficult and complicated his life would become. For he had no idea that he'd become a father figure to a young child. Or that he'd become an inspiration to his classmates and develop true friendships and relationships with some of them. Nor did he expect to be guided by the remnants of the previous users of One For All. He knew he'd have to deal with villains but he never thought that he'd become a target of the Hero Public Safety Commission as well due to his actions. With so much responsibility and burden on his shoulders, he strives to overcome them all and be the best hero he could be. A true hero. But Izuku will soon learn that the hero's life is more than what he thought it was as he navigates through corrupt society, crosses paths with fake heroes, overcomes ruthless villains, helps those in need and at the same time, deals with his own personal issues.

Story Notes

- UA will be an academy/university setting, so the characters will be aged up a bit (18 years old) for several reasons.

- The characters back stories, beliefs, personalities, etc will be important and it'll actually matter since it'll dictate how they behave. Not all characters are gonna get along the first time they meet since everyone's different. Even at a hero school, since many of the characters are barely adult age, expect them to think and act as typical 18 year olds do with egos, jealousy, misunderstandings, etc.

- People, quirks, settings, etc will be more realistic compared to canon since a lot of stuff doesn't make sense and I aim to rectify it while keeping the charm and craziness of the world.

- Izuku's 2 year training will involve him getting properly ready to receive "One For All". In canon, his preparations to receive OFA were rushed and he was younger, so he barely got ready to accept it. For this story, he'll be a little older and took the time to properly train so that'll allow him to better utilize OFA faster and it won't stunt his body's growth. During this time, Izuku also received other forms of help/support thanks to All Might, Inko and several others which will be explored as the story unfolds. Izuku received OFA only 2 months before UA began so he's only at 5% when UA starts.

- OFA will be a lot stronger in this story since it should be so the 5% will be stronger than canon. It's been stock piling energy for a very long time so it should be in a league of its own. Izuku at 30% should be leaving most behind in the dust and only the top heroes should be able to keep up (if that). Also, since there's been hints at OFA being somewhat sentient, that will be explored in this story and there will be some things done but it'll be as "realistic" as possible but do remember that quirks are kinda bullshit so...

- Izuku is the main character but this story will also partly be about how he affects those around him (being a "symbol" will do that) so expect the story's attention to shift onto other characters every now and then. In the beginning, it'll happen a little more so the foundation of the story can be placed, the subplots can develop and the characters be fleshed out. This is important because almost all of the characters will be important in this story. With that said, many characters from canon (class 1B, Kaina, HPSC, etc) will be more involved.
