Walt/Anubis-"School Daze"

Well, all I can say is, it was incredibly awkward when we of Brooklyn House went back to BAG.

Really awkward. As in, how-do-you-explain-we-saved-the-world-and-cut-school awkward.

Luckily, some clever wording by Cleo and a quick call home to Carter (and his uncle) and we were free to go. As logn as we stuck to our story that we had some family stuff going on and had to take a last-minute trip to Egypt, we'd be fine. Probably.

Anyways, at lunchtime, I went to wait for Sadie at her locker. Living with all the other magicians in Brooklyn House, it was a little hard to squeeze in private time together so we took every opportunity we could get. Lunch time, for instance.

Speaking of which, just as I was about to just call Sadie on her cellphone, I saw her pushing through the crowd of other students to get over to where I was. Or rather, where Anubis and I were. I mean, we still shared-uh, share-a body and all. But honestly, I think Anubis was too busy gawking at everything to really pay attention so Walt was doing most of the steering that day.

"Hey Sadie." I grinned at my girlfriend.

Sadie smirked as he got a packed lunch from her locker. "Hey yourself. Did Khufu-"

I held up my sack. "Yep, complete with Jell-O."

"Then what are we waiting for?" Sadie all but dragged me down the hall and outside, with me having to (almost) run to keep up. After some time, we finally found a quiet spot near under a tree near the basketball court, where a few guys were already playing.

"Ah...Peaceful, huh?" Sadie remarked, biting into her sandwich.

"Too peaceful." I agreed, my arm brushing hers when I went to get my own sandwich.

"Something is definitely going to come ruin our day, or at least nose around, I wonder how noticeable was it that a whole group of us just up and disappeared...?" Sadie wondered. "Eh, whatever. One absent won't do too much damage."

I laughed. "Says the girl who literally cuts class at the first opportunity."

"Hey, being cooped up's no fun and you now it."

"Yeah, alright, fine. You win."

"Of course I do." Sadie smiled triumphantly. "Which reminds me, have you-"

But she never got to finish her sentence, because at that moment, one Drew Tanaka came marching right over with her squad of Plastic Bags.

"Oh hello Sadie! We were so worried when you didn't come back to school after the dance!" Drew said in a sickingly sweet voice."And-Oh my," She clapped a hand to her chest in mock horror. "Did you...dump that gorgeous boy from the dance already?"

If only she knew...I made sure not to look at Sadie, or I would burst out laughing-Anubis had shown Walt that memory and the sight of all those girls gawking and guys glaring?

Awesome.

"Hmm, not really actually-" Sadie started to say, overly cheerfully, until Anubis facepalmed. Which really did hurt.

"OW! Anubis! Not really?!"

Sadie rolled her eyes and laughed. "Oh c'mon, at least I didn't say no!"

Drew and her friends were very confused as I rubbed my face. "Ugh...'

"Hey, no mummy impersonations, save that for later, I saw plenty of that already." Sadie poked me in the arm. "Anyways, Drew, as I was saying, this is my boyfriend. Walt Stay away from him. Same goes for the one at the dance."

"You can't date two boys at the same time whiteout them finding out about each other! I've trie, it's impossible!' One of Drew's friends gasped.

"Quite possible, actually, and these two know each other extremely well and aparantly can't live without me around to keep them from dying of heartbreak." Sadie smirked.

I buried my hands in my face and could feel a blush coming on. "The way you said that...true but now it sounds ten times more embarrassing."

"Just as I thought." Sadie lightly punched me again. "Anyways, Drew, hope you have some luck infinding at least one boy-I already got both of mine, for good. C'mon, Walt, I wanna go find Cleo and Jaz, I think they're inside." Sadie stood up, brushed off her jeans, and crumpled up her lunchbag and started walking towards the school. I hurried to catch up., grabbing her hand to slow her down to normal pace.

As I glanced back, I nearly let out another laugh. I quickly faced forward, trying to keep my mouth straight. "Man, the Plastic Bags' faces right now..."

"Priceless." All three of us said in unison as we strolled back into BAG.
