1hello again gang! inspired by the song These days by Rudimental ft Jess Glynn, Macklemore and Dan CaplenAu: Natsu and Lucy had gotten together before the one year time skip sometime so basically that note was really stupid :)
Lucy was looking out the window, her eyes filled with tears. She hated trains, after all they road the train together. All of them, Natsus head in her lap, happy sleeping next to her, Erza and gray quietly talking or napping. she missed those days... Alot had changed for Lucy, she had become a model and a singer, and then a journalist. The journey was strange and long, but she couldnt change it.
She wouldnt change a thing, grabbing a pen she wrote down some lyrics. Pink hair and annoyingly cute cat both came to mind while writing. She wondered if anyone knew about her new career, she hadn't contacted anyone from the guild in almost a year... but they hadn't contacted her either... Not even Levy.
Lucy had become fully independent for the first time in her 22 years of life. She had her own job, well jobs, Her own apartment she paid for by herself. She even had her own friends, Sabertooth had become a nice place to go to every once in a blue moon to see Yukino. The guild master Sting kept harassing her to join his guild. It was flattering, but she would always be a fairy at heart.
She hand always collabed with people, but their was some really nice people in the industry she would love to sing this with.
Natsu had turned pink when she asked what he was doing breaking into her house.
Happy wasnt with him.
He was bashful.
He told her he was in love with her.
The cherry tree made sense now.
He kissed her, He tasted like campfire and something sweet but spicy.
They started going out and she had never been happier.
Jason had told her he was covering the games since she was performing. She smiled, thankful her boss and friend was going to be in charge of whatever article came out for the magazine they both loved.
She was wearing some Green Cargo pants that were low on her hips, a constellation tattoo for aquarius peaked out from her hip. She had found Aquarius's key in a small village across Fiore and had traded a years worth of rent for her. Her black belly shirt showed off her stomach.
Lucy was excited to finish her last practice session with the two boys she was performing with.
Benji Mackle and Dani Caplan were fantastic artists, and really good friends she discovered. Benji had showed her photos of his wife and two daughters and Dani had messed around anytime he saw her frown.
They helped drive away her loneliness... She was thankful.
Lucy was dancing in the rain, she felt free. Her song was released and now would be echoing everywhere.
Maybe they would hear her.
Levy Mcgarden was tired, her partner Gajeel Redfox had decided to arrest everyone again. Even the thought of the paper work drained almost all of her energy.
Sitting down on her fluffy blue couch she pulled out the remote to their lacrama Television.
The couch dipped down as a steaming cup of tea was handed to her, They flicked through a few channels before Gajeel confiscated the remote on the Music channel. They sat watching Music videos for awhile before a song called These Days popped up, Levy caught a flicker of Lucy's name before the Video started to play.
A man with pale white hair and right blue eyes popped up on the screen first. walking down Crucus at night.
Lucy was even more beautiful, her blonde hair now down to her knees and wavy. The large sweater was a place pink.
Erza was shocked,
Lucy was holding hands with a male singer on the Television. Her arms wrapped around him.
She was smiling despite the sad song.
Gray had dropped his plate when he had seen her flicker across the screen. Juvia started muttering happily about no longer having a love rival. Gushing about how beautiful Lucy's voice was.
Gray was startled to see Lucy's Wardrobe was very diffrent. Black cargo pants and Pink long sleeved belly shirt. her hair was curled and longer.
She was in an apartment, the man was cooking dinner.
The scene changed to another singer with a hat on smiling at a piano.
Mira was smiling sadly while watching the blonde argue with the main singer, knowing about her relationship with Natsu.
Lisanna was cooking dinner with Elfman, who was yelling about Natsu not being very manly when leaving Lucy only a note.
Mira had to agree.
Levy watched Lucy pick up the constellation necklace from the Thrift shop she had gone to with the blonde songer. She smiled fro. her place in the magic taxi, slipping the Necklace back into the envelope.
She wanted to send Lucy a Letter apologizing for leaving her.
Lucy was happy, to a point. Lucy dearly missed everyone but as she made more friends it became bearable.
Natsu leaving her with only a note had broken her heart, She felt betrayed and abandoned and then everyone left her when the guild disbanded. She had thought maybe her and Levy could have started a book store or something but in the end even the small bluenette had disappeared.
Lucy had wasted away in her apartment for weeks until an impromptu intervention from her spirits had sent her to the train station in search of a new home and new job.
It was a hard process but she finally had found Jason and he offered her a modeling gig. Modeling turned into singing and eventually she stopped taking Modeling jobs and went onto writing.
She was proud of herself. She also adopting knitting as a stress hobby. needless to say she had created several hats and scarves for everyone she had known in Crocus.
She was knitting tonight to help her anxiety for performing tomorrow.
Natsu was starving, He had eaten a few wild mushroom and fish before heading towards Crocus but that was around dawn and it was currently the mid afternoon.
He was grumpy and nervous. He knew he had left Lucy with all of the guild but he knew what he did was cowardly. He had needed time after Igneel died. He needed to be stronger to protect the guild, to protect her.
The Arena was larger then he remembered, he had aimed to arrive earlier to watch the fights but instead arrived during half time because of happy getting them lost.
A large screen was displaying a song title, These days. The stage had Three figures on it. A tall Dark skinned man with a hat on was on a piano, another blonde man in a yellow wife beater and white tank top was adjusting the microphone.
He smelled her before he saw her, he had figured she would be watching the game. But there she stood, dressed in High waisted Washed out loose Jean's, A dark blue short sleeved Crop top with her initials in white on it and Blue Docs. her hair was pulled up in a side pony that reached a few inches above her knees.
She was just as beautiful as he remembered.
And then she started to sing.
It was a sad song, at least to his ears, because the male was singing the part he had lived. But her voice was so full of emotion, of hope and sadness, Of understanding. When the song ended He knew.
He knew she was what he needed. The fighting ,for once in his life, could wait.
He ran down to the nearest jewlry shop and bought the perfect ring.
She was sitting next to the blonde haired reporter he remembered. She was even more beautiful with her hair down and messy.
" Lucy" he breathed out knocking on the wood railing, Her eyes widened looking at him.
" Natsu?.." She smiled gently, gliding across the floor towards him. He could hear happy saying something about a scary look in her eyes but he didnt listen.
His nose exploded with a hot head flew backwards. He felt his nose, something warm and wet was dripping from it onto his bare chest. Looking at his hand he winced seeing Crimson blood.
Lucy was swearing, clutching her hand with her other one to her chest. Her eyes were watering.
She faced him before laughing, her laughter was light and as bright as all the constellations she had stared at with him.
He started laughing aswell.
An Awkward Healers visit later. She had not only broken his nose but her wrist aswell. She had snorted as the healer lectured her at punching her boyfriend while He had explained that he deserved it.
On the walk to her house, late at night unfortunately, he wasn't able to fight the winner of the games. He had stopped at the fountain, the stars were brightly shining and the moon was out. He grabbed her hand and felt his heartbeat in his throat.
He pulled out the small silver ring, star shaped diamond shining in the starlight. Happy had fainted into the pool and Lucy, Lucy smiled the most beautiful smile he had ever seen before,
