a chapter about Kyo's secret fear of Tohru tasting his adoptive father's cooking for what might as well be his first date with the girl of his dreams.

disclamation: I do not own Fruits Basket in any way, shape, or form. all the rights of ownership in the anime are reserved for the folks down at the Funimation Anime Company in the US and for the staff of TV Tokyo in Japan. all of the manga's ownership rights are reserved solely for Natsuki Takaya-sensei.

the only thing in the series which i truly in terms of ownership is any 'Fruits Basket' fanfictions I happen to come up with, like this one.

Tohru Honda: I'm back. I hope I wasn't too long.

Kazuma Sohma: Not too long at all.

Tohru Honda: Oh, thank you. I'm so happy.

Kyo Sohma: I'm sure you're gonna be really happy when you finally get home, so your mom won't have to worry about you.

Tohru Honda: Maybe I can stay for dinner, at least.

Kyo became horrified at the thought of his first love eating some of his adoptive father/master's cooking. Kazuma may have been a master of martial arts, but his day to day skills like cooking left the world to be desired, he was so bad at the stuff. The man could not even brew a pot of tea the right way and whenever Kazuma actually even tried to cook, he always managed to burn everything, even the foods that did not require too much cooking heat.

Kazuma Sohma: I suppose it would be OK to cook for one more person. I probably should get started before it gets too late.

Kazuma tried to head into the kitchen to start cooking, but Kyo had other plans.

Kyo Sohma: Stay out of the kitchen, Master. You're just gonna make a mess of everything just like you always do.

Tohru Honda: I'm sure his cooking can't be that bad.

Kyo Sohma: You don't know. Do not underestimate his lack of skill with this stuff. Master can't clean, either. I'll take care of everything with dinner.

Tohru Honda: Maybe I can help you. I don't normally like to brag, but I prepare my own meals at home because my mom has to work awfully hard at her shifts.
