1Lucy stood staring at the family door.
Her mother reached over and squeezed her hand, her brother Sting was standing next to his Pregnant wife Yukino and their younger sister Michelle.
Her mother entered the house first, followed swiftly by Sting and Yukino.
Michelle was her parents late in life baby, she was only 8 years old. she had their fathers coloring and their mothers heart. Michelle grabbed her hand and gave a slight tug.
Luvy let put the breath she was holding and walked into their marble floor caused their footsteps to echo around the manor.
Lucy looked around and saw familiar faces, She caught her brothers childhood friend Rouge who offered her a quick hug as she passed by with Michelle. Greeting all their fellow broken hearts.
Michelle was now sleeping on Sting while he nursed a small cup of their fathers favorite whiskey.
They were huddled in their living room, pictures of their father filled the room.
Her mother sat on the pale blue loveseat, fondly running her hands over the other cushion where her father used to sit.
Natsu was sitting next to her, holding her hand.
Her mother gently started humming along to the song starting to play on their old Vinyl.
" A long long time ago... I can still remember, how the music used to make me smile..." her started singing along softly, her eyes unfocused.
Lucy looked over as sting joined in
" Febuary made me shiver.. with every paper I deliver... Bad news on the door step... I- I couldnt take one more step" He sobbed softly as Yukino joined in, hand resting on her belly.
" I cant remember if I cried... when I read about his widowed bride... But something touched me deep inside... The day... the music died..." Yukino gently wiped her eyes with her free hand.
Lucy looked over to the side of the room as Her brothers friend from highschool Laxus started to sing " Did you write the book of love, and did you have faith in God above..." He started to choke up and cleared his thought " Well I know that your in love with him, cause I saw ya dancing in the gym..."
Cana raised her cup as she listens to the music and soon everyone joined in...
Lucy felt the warm tears fall over as everyone she held dearly join in...
" I met a girl who sang the blues, and I asked her for some happy news... But she just smiled and turned away...I went down to the sacred store, Where I heard the music years before... but the man there said the music wouldnt play..." Lucy felt Natsu sqeeze her hand as she leaned her head onto his shoulder, feeling the vibrations from his singing.
Lucy stood up to follow her mother out as she softly sang " And the three men I admire most, the father son and the holy ghost.. they caught the last train for the coast... The day... the music... died... and they were singing... bye bye Miss American pie... " her mother sang softly as she escorted the grievers out.
Lucy leaned against the wall,
" And they were singing... bye... bye miss American pie... drive my Chevy to the levy but the levy was dry... " Lucy walked back to the empty living room, quietly passing by natsu in the hall as she squeezed in and sat on the couch with her head in her hands. " the good old boys... drinking whiskey and rye..." Lucy let out a sob as her tears softly feel onto the fabric of her black dress. " The day... The music... Died..."
Lucy felt Natsu sit down next to her and wrap her up in his arms.
Lucy knew one thing..
she would survive this
after all...
she had natsu.
