Before you read, I must ask you..

i. Do not copy this book: I've seen so many books being copied word for word or the same storyline. Do not say you want to use it as 'inspiration' and copy it exactly the same as written here. I read so many Harry Potter fics so if you do copy, I will know.

ii. If you're a RR (I don't understand why people would like to re-read, but apparently it happens,)do not spoil it for others: As much as I appreciate my re-readers, please don't comment what happens later on in the book. Only do it if someone asks.

iii. I do not want this story translated: Currently I am not looking for this book to be translated.

active on this: Even though there's a lot of comments on each chapter, I will read all of those comments. It's really nice knowing people enjoy your book(s). I would think every book author agrees.

v. This book is not under editing yet: If you notice any mistakes, feel free to comment and I will fix them later on if I have more than 15 mistakes.

Anyways, hope you guys enjoy this book! I do not know how many chapters there will be yet, but when I finish or get the general idea of how many I will update this!

Dakota Madelyn Black was raised in an orphanage, a catholic orphanage. So you can expect how the Sisters acted when she got her Hogwarts letter. Well, let's start at the very beginning shall we?

— November 1st 1981 ~ Flashback —-

It was a fine morning on November 1st 1981, birds chirping and the wind blowing through the sky. Sirius Black woke up with a jump rushing out of bed to get dressed. He then rushed to his daughters room.

Tears were threatening to spill out of his eyes. Pettigrew betrayed them...he betrayed James and Lily. And poor Harry..oh sweet Harry he thought to himself. He quickly ran out of the house with Dakota in his arms.

He apparated to Godric's Hollow, running towards the house in ruins, almost tripping over tree roots while doing so. He kicked the door open gasping at the sight in front of him. His best friend James Fleamont Potter laying on the floor..dead.

He gripped onto Dakota tightly not wanting to drop her. He suddenly heard cries coming from upstairs bringing him back to his senses.

He ran towards the stairs as fast as he could. The sight in front of him made him gasp louder. Lily Potter laying on the floor..dead as well. He spotted Harry in the rubble near the crib. Putting Dakota next to him, he picked Harry up.

"Pafoo'?" His voice was quiet and full of fear. Sirius looked at Harry sadly, he pulled Harry close to his chest. "Yes Harry, Padfoot's here.."

He watched as Dakota looked around in confusion. There was rubble everywhere and the roof was blasted off. He could understand why she started to cry, her Auntie Lily was laying on the floor, dead.

Suddenly, a loud BANG was heard. Rubeus Hagrid appeared in the doorway. "Are they really dead?" His voice was muffled, Sirius nodded.

"Professor Dumbledore sent 'e, to pick up 'arry," Sirius looked at him like he were crazy. "Harry's my godson, I'm taking him no matter what Dumbledore says, Hagrid."

"No you can'! The headmaster 'aid to bring 'im." Hagrid tried to reason with him. Sirius seemed to consider it for a second before nodding.

"Take my bike, I won't need it anymore." he said quietly, still not believing he won't be able to see his godson anytime soon.

He turned away, walking toward the Apparation Point before turning back. "Take her.." he said through chocked tears. "Keep her safe."

As he walked away, Hagrid was left to stare at him confused. He apparated into a street alley way, but stopped once he saw who was there.

Pettigrew. He approached Pettigrew, glaring at him. The traitor looked terrified. Sirius took out his wand, aiming it at Peter. Pettigrew did the same.

"Sirius! James! Lily! Claire! How could you!" he cried squeakily. "They were your friends, your wife, Sirius!" Sirius glared at him, too upset to think thoroughly.

"You little traitor, Pettigrew!" he snarled wand aimed at the other mans throat. "Don't think you can get away with this. The Aurors will have you, locked up in Azkaban for life."

Pettigrew aimed the wand at the street, sending a blasting curse and accidentally hitting a pipe, sending the muggles to death. Sirius flew backwards, in the process seeing Pettigrew change into a rat and go down a sewer.

By the time the Auror department arrived, he was unconscious. He felt himself being stunned and put into cuffs.

—- End of Flashback —-

That's how she, Dakota, ended up here. At Sisters of Quiet Mercy in Great Britain, London. It was a type of asylum. Only one small window in her sleeping chambers. White walls. And nuns dressed in black and white walking around the place, checking on her every 1 hour.

She was the most hated girl in the orphanage. This was because she could change the Sisters robe color at age four. Once, she broke a vase because she was upset that Sister Alice, her least favorite Sister, hadn't let her play with the other kids.

She often saw the Sisters praying together for her and her abilities. She was different. She was strange. That was until one day, a woman with her grey hair in a tight bun, in emerald green robes came to talk to her. She said her name was Minerva McGonagall, and that she was a Professor at this school called Hogwarts. A school for witches and wizards.

Dakota went to Hogwarts and was sorted into Gryffindor. She made three of the best friends she's ever had that year. Harry Potter, a boy who would never let her get hurt. Hermione Granger, a girl who treated her like a sister. And Ron Weasley, a boy who risked his life for her and the other two at age twelve.

They became friends after she caught a group of Slytherins making fun of Hermione for being a muggleborn. Hermione introduced her to the other two, and they hit it off instantly. They never went anywhere without each other. Let it be lunch, class,or Hagrid's Hut.

She was also a Chaser on the Gryffindor Quidditch team. She tried out in second year, after Professor McGonagall saw her flying in Flying Class.

A knock on her door awoke her from her dream, she was in a circular room with people shooting hexes at each other. It was a very strange dream, well more of a nightmare honestly. She groaned at hearing Sister Alice's voice,

"Get up you brat!" she screeched, causing Dakota to cover her ears. Honestly, she sounded like a banshee sometimes. Goodness gracious, if only she would stop screaming. She got out of bed, putting on a white sweatshirt with long overalls.

Sister Alice stared at her disapprovingly, eyeing her outfit. She stalked off, muttering how 'the brat needs to learn to dress like a lady' and 'we'll need to start praying for her again soon'. Dakota rolled her eyes, walking to breakfast with her shrunken trunk and broom inside her pocket.

The halls of the orphanage were blank. No murals. No papers. No bulletin boards. Nothing. The dining hall was boring as well. Same as the halls, except for a single bulletin board near the back of the hall.

She sat down in a far corner, next to a rather large window viewing the forest. The other girls eyeing her, whispering in hushed voices. She knew they were talking about the escaped prisoner, Sirius Black. Yes, her father was Sirius Black. He was arrested and sent to Azkaban for murdering Peter Pettigrew and 12 muggles. It was rather hard to go to Hogwarts without getting made fun of by the Slytherins because of it.

She quietly ate her sausage and eggs before setting off to the Leaky Cauldron. She hoped Harry was there to cheer up her mood a bit. Or at least Ron and Hermione.
