Facing the Future

Chapter 9: Realization

A/N: Right so here we are at the final chapter of Facing the Future!

I'll save my final notes for the end, but just for the start here I want to say thanks to everyone who's read the story, favorited, reviewed and followed it, I really appreciate all your support!

So without further ado here is Chapter 9, enjoy!

"Oh my gosh Trunks! What happened to you?" Bulma screeched hysterically as she caught sight of her son in his dreadful state, being assisted by Seventeen as they entered the bunker.

"It's not as bad as it looks mum... really, I'm fine!" Trunks lies unconvincingly, wincing as she rushes up to hold his other side.

"Don't you lie to me young man! I know when you've been in a fight so you can drop the tough guy act!" Bulma said with a fierce glare, to which Trunks gulps nervously as he is then helped into the main room.

Trunks is guided to a chair where he quickly sits down, looking very relieved at not having to walk any further as Bulma moves over to some cupboards whilst the Androids stand nearby.

"So are you going to tell me what the hell happened? I thought you were just heading to the hospital?" Bulma said as she grabbed out a first aid kit, getting some bandages ready as she walked back over to Trunks.

"Yeah, we kind of ran into some trouble along the way! First it was the other Androids and then..." Trunks started before pausing to look up at the Androids questioningly.

"Actually what happened there anyway? Why did both of you fly off like that, even though I told you not to?" he finished with a suspicious look, wondering just what reason they could have for making such a reckless action.

Eighteen remains silent as she glances at her brother, silently suggesting that he explains and to which Seventeen nods in agreement before turning back to Trunks.

"Well honestly, I was kind of sick of hearing about those two giving we Androids a bad name! So I decided that we'd find those bastards and give them the ass kicking they deserved!" Seventeen said confidently with a grin, causing Eighteen to scoff as she rolls her eyes at him for his bravado.

"Seventeen you do remember that they managed to shut you down right? Leaving me to take them down by myself?" Eighteen said matter of factly, and Seventeen adopts a brief look of embarrassment before giving her an annoyed glare.

"Hey it wasn't my fault they pulled some crazy attack on me! I didn't even know it was possible for us to shut each other down like that!" Seventeen replied defensively, though Eighteen just gives him an indifferent look at that.

"Regardless, you should never have gone to face them alone!" Trunks then interjects in a challenging tone, giving them a stern look before his expression softens a bit.

"Though I don't blame you really. Hearing about the warped and evil versions of yourselves must have been hard to hear, and I probably would have done the same thing in your shoes," he admitted, being able to see the scenario from their point of view.

"Wait if it was the Androids you fought, then how come you're beaten up so badly? Aren't you a lot stronger than them now?" Bulma asked in surprise as she tended to Trunk's wounds.

"Yeah well that's where Cell came into the mix! That monster showed up at just the wrong time, managing to absorb both of the other Androids and transforming into his perfect form!" Trunks stated unhappily, to which Bulma lets out a horrified gasp.

"Thankfully we managed to defeat him, but only after a really tough fight and to be honest I don't think that I'd have stood a chance if it wasn't for Seventeen and Eighteen's help! Them as well as Gohan of course!" Trunks finished, his eyes lighting up as he remembered his encounter with his friend and teacher.

"Gohan? Ah, Trunks are you feeling okay? He didn't get hit in the head really hard or anything did he?" Bulma said cautiously to the Androids who both shrug in response, not understanding what Trunks was on about either.

"I know it sounds unbelievable but you have to trust me! Gohan's spirit along with many others who died in this world came to my aid in that final fight, giving me the strength I needed to beat Cell!" Trunks said enthusiastically, trying his best to convince his obviously bewildered mother.

"Oh so that's what all of those white glowing orbs were! Kind of disturbing to be honest though I can't really argue with the results!" Seventeen said with a slightly unnerved expression, with Eighteen frowning in confusion at the whole explanation.

Bulma looks at all of them in disbelief before finally sighing in resignation, considering it wasn't as though she hadn't heard or seen weirder things in her life previously, a giant wish granting dragon being the prime example that comes to mind.

"Well in any case I'm just glad that you're alive Trunks, and I suppose I can thank you two for that!" she said after a few moments, before turning to smile gratefully at the Androids.

"Yeah, well I didn't want him to have all the fun of killing Cell by himself!" Seventeen said with a jovial smirk, though Eighteen just remains silent as she glances down at the ground with an uncomfortable expression.

Trunks then stands up with a bit of a struggle, ignoring the pain as he walks over to Seventeen and holds out his hand to him.

"Seventeen, I would have died today if you hadn't helped me and even if you had your own reasons I'm still grateful, so thanks!" Trunks said with a grin, and the Android firmly clasps his hand with a similar grin, as they both share a meaningful handshake.

Trunks then glances over at Eighteen, who had turned away from him with her arms crossed and looking quite troubled by something.

"Hey Eighteen, I know you said that you only came back for your brother and I understand that. But you still helped me even indirectly, so I owe you my thanks as well!" he said hesitantly, feeling a bit unsure at her distant body language.

Eighteen doesn't reply for a few moments, before she then turns around to face him with an agitated look of disbelief.

"You shouldn't be thanking me! I was going to leave you for dead, and I would have if Seventeen hadn't gone back for you!" she said in an exasperated tone, pausing briefly before continuing.

"I was going to let you die at the hands of that monster and yet here you are thanking me for being selfish! That isn't right and you know it!" she finished, looking down at the ground with an ashamed expression.

Trunk's eyes widen as he gives her a confused look, not really expecting Eighteen to actually feel bad about abandoning him, considering she had shown nothing but disdain for him previously.

"Eighteen I won't hold that against you, in fact I wanted you to leave so that you could save Krillin! You needed to get that medicine to him and if it was going to take my sacrifice to make that happen, then I was willing to pay that price!" Trunks said determinedly, and Eighteen could only look up at him with a shocked expression, marveling at his fierce conviction.

In fact it was this kind of selflessness that reminded her of Krillin, and with that thought she begins to feel a newfound respect for Trunks, realizing that he was not such a bad person after all.

"Thanks Trunks, but even if you were able to accept that I just wanted to say... that I'm sorry," she finished hesitantly, finding it a little bit of a struggle to actually apologize to someone she had previously disliked.

"That's alright, and I'm sorry as well for misjudging you both! You are nothing like the monsters from my time and I'm glad that I could finally see that!" Trunks said genuinely, to which both the Androids give him surprised looks at that, knowing what a statement it was coming from him.

"But I believe it's about time you headed back to your own reality! Krillin still needs that medicine and I'd hate to delay you any more than I need to!" Trunks said, giving Eighteen in particular a knowing look at that.

The Androids both nod in agreement and all of them then proceed towards the exit, with Bulma giving Trunks a hand as he limps through the door.

Once they gather outside Eighteen activates the time machine capsule, the familiar yellow vehicle appearing in front of them as she and Seventeen then fly up into the cockpit, getting ready for their final trip home.

As the canopy closes and the vehicle starts hovering into the air, the two Androids watch as Trunks and Bulma wave at them as they ascend into the sky.

"Thanks to the both of you! When Krillin gets better let him know I said hi!" Trunks yelled up with a cheerful grin on his face.

Seventeen smirks at that as he gives them a thumbs up in response, and Eighteen spares a slight wave back whilst adopting a small smile as well.

Then the time machine slowly fades from view, and once it has fully disappeared Trunks and Bulma then share joyful smiles at each other, feeling elated that all of the misery and suffering their world had gone through was finally at an end.

Bulma idly flicked through some of the notes from one of the other projects she had been working on whilst she waited in the engineering centre.

Her father meanwhile was inspecting some machinery on the workbench nearby, as Master Roshi was lazily sleeping in one of the chairs to the side of the room, his loud snores echoing throughout the room.

Bulma gives him an agitated look at that before she returns to her notes, though she wasn't really taking them in fully as her mind was elsewhere.

"I hope everything's alright with Seventeen and Eighteen, they've been gone for almost an hour now!" she thought to herself worryingly as she glanced at her watch with a concerned look.

"I'm sure they're fine, I mean they can handle themselves and I'm sure Trunks will help them out!" she thought reassuringly, before adopting an unsure expression as she remembered that Trunks would most likely hate them.

However as if answering her question, a large glowing object suddenly flickered into view in the sky through the opening in the hanger, and Bulma looks up excitedly as she recognizes the shape of the time machine as it comes into view.

"Hey guys the Androids are back!" Bulma exclaimed loudly at her father and Roshi, the latter jumping awake in fright and proceeding to fall over backwards with his chair.

Dr. Briefs starts making his way over to her whilst Roshi sits up, rubbing a red mark that had formed on his head from whacking it on the ground.

"Damn it Bulma do you have to yell so loud!" Roshi grumbled as he stood up to come over as well.

Bulma just gives him a fierce glare that shuts him up quickly, before all three of them turn their attention to the time machine which was now coming through the hanger opening.

However they watch in shock as with the wrenching of metal the cockpit is forcefully flung open, with Eighteen quickly jumping out to land in front of them and looking quite restless with an exasperated expression.

"Bulma, I have the medicine for Krillin so let's hurry up and get it to him now!" she said quickly as she held out the capsule case to Bulma, though unfortunately the blue haired woman is seemingly frozen in shock by Eighteen's abrupt entrance.

"Really Eighteen, you couldn't have waited a few more seconds until we'd landed properly?" Seventeen said as he hovered down next to her with an amused look, "And people say that I'm the reckless one!"

"What does it matter Seventeen? This medicine needs to get to Krillin as soon as possible, a bent door is the least of my concerns!" Eighteen replied with an agitated tone, before looking back at Bulma expectantly.

"Right sorry, I'll get this to him right away!" Bulma said hurriedly as she came back to her senses, grabbing the capsule case and rushing away with Eighteen following close behind.

Seventeen just shakes his head as he takes note of his sister's over the top actions, not really understanding them much and wondering why it was that she seemed to get so emotional when it came to Krillin.

It was obvious that Eighteen cared about the short fighter quite a lot, but he was starting to get the sneaking suspicion that it wasn't simply the sort of closeness good friends would share, or even that of what he and his sister had either.

Instead it seemed that there was something else entirely going on between those two, and as Seventeen takes a moment to dwell on it further an interesting answer comes to his mind, to which he adopts an amused expression at the only logical explanation, despite it sounding somewhat far-fetched to him.

"Well if I'm not mistaken, it would appear that my dear sister has somewhat of a thing for the little bald guy!" Seventeen thought to himself with a chuckle, before shaking his head in disbelief.

"Hmph, guess I'll just have to keep an eye on those two then, after all a brother should always watch out for his sister!" he finished with a smirk as he then walked towards the exit as well.

Eighteen's eyes snapped open as a small glint of sunlight struck her face, coming through a gap in the curtains of the guest room she was in.

She was lying on top of a bed in the new set of clothes Bulma had given her, which she had gone to sleep for the night in, not caring enough to get into bed properly considering how tired she had felt yesterday.

Even before the emotionally draining past 24 hours she hadn't slept in the few days prior, and that combined with the ordeal she had just gone through had been more than enough to make her quickly drop to sleep.

Moving so that she was looking up at the ceiling, her thoughts quickly went to Krillin and she wondered if he would be awake today, knowing it had been several hours since she had seen him last.

They had given him the medicine yesterday morning and it seemed to have worked quickly, his breathing becoming less strained as well as his body relaxing significantly and almost making him appear as if he was simply in a peaceful sleep.

She had felt very relieved to see that, though Bulma had cautioned her that it might take a day or so for him to fully recover and regain consciousness. Eventually after Eighteen had spent several hours waiting by Krillin's side, Bulma had convinced her to get some rest and offered her one of the spare rooms to use.

It was a good thing she had decided to take a rest too, as soon after she had left there was a whole bunch of furious yelling coming from downstairs, the voice sounding an awful lot like Vegeta and she could only guess that he was having a tantrum over finding that she and her brother were in the same building as him.

After a few minutes Eighteen checks the time and upon seeing that it was just past midday she gets up, feeling rested enough and wanting to check up on Krillin as soon as possible.

Quickly making her way out of the room, Eighteen heads downstairs where she soon stumbles across Bulma who it seems was going up to meet her anyway.

"Ah Eighteen, good to see that you're awake!" Bulma said with a smile, as Eighteen gave her a slight nod in greeting.

"I have some really good news! Krillin woke up about an hour ago, so if you want I can take you to go see him if you like!" Bulma said cheerfully as Eighteen's expression changed drastically to one of complete surprise.

"Really, he's recovered already? That's good to hear..." Eighteen said a little hesitantly as she looked down, feeling strangely anxious at the thought of seeing Krillin again.

"Why do I feel so nervous all of a sudden? Shouldn't I just be happy that he's awake and that I can see him again?" Eighteen thought to herself with a confused expression, before shaking her head in annoyance.

She then looks up with a nod, indicating that she was ready to go see Krillin and though Bulma gives her a rather puzzled look at the mixed reaction, she doesn't bring it up as she then gestures for Eighteen to follow as she they head towards the medical centre.

After a bit of time walking they come to the facility, with Bulma leading Eighteen into a different section of the complex, one that looked more like a typical hospital ward rather than the small monitoring room where Krillin was before.

"So we decided to move Krillin into this area, considering he is no longer required to be under intensive care!" Bulma said as they walk over to one of the rooms, "Not to mention it's much more spacious and is better for hosting visitors!"

Eighteen however was barely paying attention to Bulma's words, finding that she was too focused on the growing feeling of nervousness within her, and beginning to become increasingly frustrated by it's unexplained persistence.

As they both stop in front of the door Eighteen pauses for a few moments with an uncertain expression, taking a few deep breaths as she does her best to calm down.

Noticing Eighteen's hesitation and seeing the obviously anxious expression she had currently, Bulma quickly gathers what was going through the other woman's mind as she then placed a reassuring hand on the Android's shoulder.

"Hey Eighteen, it's not so strange to feel a little emotional or unsure about seeing him again, especially after what you had just gone through for him!" Bulma said in a kind tone, knowing what had occurred in the other timeline from a conversation with Seventeen.

Eighteen looks at Bulma with a somewhat confused expression at first, before giving her a relieved smile at knowing that these emotions were not so out of the ordinary.

Bulma returns the smile and she then opens the door into the room, leading the way inside as Eighteen follows cautiously behind her.

The room was of average size with two beds and a few chairs, coming with a nice view of West City from the large window though Eighteen didn't focus on any of these details much as her attention was quickly drawn to Krillin who was lying down in one of the beds.

He quickly notices them entering as he then sits up, giving them both a wave along with a warm smile.

"Hey Bulma!" Krillin said quickly before looking right at Eighteen, "And hey Eighteen! I'm so glad you came, I really wanted to see you again!" he finished cheerfully with a laugh.

Eighteen doesn't reply however as she finds herself stunned by the sight of him, almost not believing that he was just sitting there completely fine, wearing that joyful expression he would often have when they talked to each other.

Despite knowing that it had only been a day or so since she had last seen him, it had instead felt like it was so much longer, with something as simple as seeing his smile making her realize just how much she had missed him in that time.

Upon seeing this Bulma knew that Eighteen and Krillin needed to be left alone for a while, as she started backing out of the room with neither of the other two noticing as she left.

The room is then left in an overwhelming silence, as both Krillin and Eighteen look at each other with very different expressions, one of shock for her and one of confusion for him.

After several long moments of this Krillin can't take the awkward tension any longer as he finally decides to speak up, feeling a bit worried as to why Eighteen was acting like this upon seeing him.

"Um, Eighteen is everything okay? You're looking at me like you've seen a ghost or something!" Krillin said cautiously whilst giving her a genuinely concerned look, "So please tell me what's up, I'm a little worried about you!"

Eighteen simply widened her eyes incredulously at that, having a bit of trouble grasping his words to her considering he had been days away from death himself, and despite that here he was saying that he was worried about her, showing once again that he was placing her above himself.

She couldn't quite describe just how that made her feel, and she made the only action that comes to mind as she quickly walks up to Krillin to pull him into a firm embrace, placing everything else aside as she hugs him tightly.

Krillin hugs her back with an expression of complete surprise, knowing quite well that Eighteen was not one to make caring gestures often, and the realization quickly hits him that this was in fact the first time they had ever held each other like this.

The two of them just stay like this for a good while, simply enjoying the closeness of one other before Eighteen eventually pulls away and as Krillin goes to ask her what this is all about, he sees to his disbelief that she was silently crying.

"Eighteen... you're crying..." he said hesitantly, feeling quite unsure of the whole situation as he had never seen Eighteen this emotional before.

Seeing his confused expression, Eighteen desperately thinks of a way to put what she was feeling into words as she looked down at him with an odd combination of happiness and sadness.

"I'm sorry, I do feel happy at seeing you alright again Krillin... but at the same time I can't help but feel sad as well..." she said hesitantly, taking a deep breath as she wipes away some tears before continuing.

"I really thought I was going to lose you... and I was so scared that I might have no choice but to watch you...you..." she stopped, adopting a pained expression as she thought of that awful scenario.

Krillin proceeds to cup her hand in both of his, holding onto it comfortingly and giving her a reassuring look.

"It's okay I'm fine now, and I promise you that I'm not going anywhere!" he said determinedly with a bright smile.

"I didn't catch all the details off of Bulma, but she did tell me that it's thanks to you that I'm still here!" he continued positively, "You saved my life Eighteen! I don't think there's any way I can thank you enough for that, I truly owe you everything!"

Eighteen could only stare at him happily, his words comforting her like nothing else as she then returned his smile, keeping her hand comfortably within his as she replied.

"Don't be silly, you've done so much for me already, so honestly it's about time that I did something for you in return!" she stated firmly with a smirk, as she then took a seat on the bed next to him.

"Well if you say so! Though saving me from a heart virus wasn't really what I expected to be honest!" Krillin said jokingly, before quickly adopting a concerned expression as he notices Eighteen glance down sadly.

"Hey what's up? Is it the future timeline, I know that must have been hard for you to hear about," he said quietly, being able to correctly guess what was going through her head from her reaction.

Eighteen just nods at that as she then glances away, sadness overtaking her as she thought about her counterpart from that time, and how for so long she had never known the horrors that the other version of her had committed.

"Why... why didn't you tell me about her Krillin?" Eighteen said as she turned back to him, anguish clear on her features as she stared at him miserably.

Krillin let's his shoulders sag at her question, feeling fully responsible for keeping that piece of information from her in an attempt to spare her the pain and guilt he knew she would feel because of it.

"I'm sorry Eighteen, I didn't want to keep things from you but I felt that if you knew, it would make you regret something that wasn't even your fault!" he said with an ashamed look, as despite his reasoning he still felt like he had betrayed Eighteen's trust, something he valued more than anyone else.

Eighteen however doesn't feel any betrayal or anger at his admission, instead only feeling her admiration and respect for Krillin increase even more, knowing that he had simply been trying to help her once again.

"Don't apologize, you were only looking out for me right?" Eighteen said with a small smile, "You were always like that, even when I was working against you years ago."

"You helped me back then, and despite knowing about the evil version of myself you still gave me a chance. I guess that just makes me even more thankful for what you did for me!" she continued, looking into Krillin's eyes with a grateful expression.

Krillin only rubs the back of his head awkwardly as his face goes a shade of red, not really knowing what to say to Eighteen's high praise and feeling nervous at the almost loving way she was now staring at him.

"Well... you know... it just felt right and... of course I also... I... uh..." Krillin stuttered as he looked away, struggling to say the words he had wanted to for so long, the three words that he wouldn't have dared utter to Eighteen had it not been for this perfect opportunity to do so.

Eighteen just continues to stare at him with the same appreciative smile, as she could quite easily guess what Krillin was trying to tell her, knowing how he had felt about her since the day over a year ago when he had all but said his true feelings up on the lookout.

And looking at him now she had to admit that she finally felt the same way. It had taken her a while, at first only liking him a little, then becoming good friends, and then more recently being on the verge of something else, something that she could now feel comfortable embracing as she stared at the person she knew loved her.

Krillin is surprised when Eighteen reaches over to gently place her hand under his chin, lightly moving his head so that he was staring up at her once again and she simply smiles at him before moving her head in towards his.

Krillin could hardly believe what was happening as their faces closed towards each other, and he is overwhelmed when Eighteen's lips meet his in a kiss, one that he was immediately caught up in as he experiences a feeling of pure bliss.

Eighteen is likewise enjoying the incredible sensation as she maintains the kiss, having draped her arms around Krillin's shoulders as she comfortably allows him to hold her around the waist, and wanting nothing more than to stay like this for as long as possible.

After a while they slowly break apart, both of them feeling quite breathless and they blush furiously whilst briefly glancing away from each other in slight embarrassment.

They quickly lock eyes once again however, as they mirror smiles of pure joy, both of them feeling amazing for having shared this special moment that they would never forget.

The scene of happiness is then interrupted by someone suddenly clearing their throat at the door, and Eighteen hastily stands up in fright as she spins around to see Seventeen in the entrance, who was currently looking at them both with a knowing smirk.

"What do you want Seventeen, don't you know how to knock?" Eighteen said as she glares angrily at her brother, feeling the redness in her cheeks intensify under her brother's stare.

"Well the door was left open so it's not my fault I interrupted!" he said with a mischievous grin as he glanced at Krillin, who looked like he wanted nothing more than to vanish into thin air.

"I was just letting you know that I'll be heading off now, and I was hoping to have a quick chat with you before I go," he stated calmly as he then turned back at Eighteen with an expectant look.

"And then you two can get back to... whatever you were doing," he finished with an amused chuckle, before turning around and walking out of the room.

Eighteen exhales exasperatedly at that, though she softens her expression as she glances over her shoulder to Krillin, giving him a reassuring smile as he nods sheepishly in return.

Eighteen then walks through the door and down the hallway, following her brother until they were alone in the medical centre waiting room. However before she could berate him for his audacity, he holds up a hand so that he was allowed to speak first.

"Okay before you flip out at me, I'm sorry I interrupted your special moment! And no I'm not going to tell anyone about it and no I also don't mind that you were just kissing him!" he stated matter of factly before grinning as he sees Eighteen's mouth hang open in surprise for a few moments.

Eighteen then regains her composure as she then folds her arms whilst giving him a confused look, a bit wary of her brother being so accepting of her actions.

"Right well thanks, I suppose. I'm still not forgiving you for what you did back there, I bet you knew perfectly well what you were doing didn't you?!" she said heatedly as she squinted her eyes at him suspiciously.

"No really? What makes you say that?" Seventeen said unconvincingly with a grin as he held up his hands in mock surrender, "I mean I at least waited until you two were finished..." he added quietly, before adopting a nervous expression as he saw the warning flash of anger in Eighteen's eyes.

"Come on Eighteen I was just checking up on you that's all, it's not like I wanted to come across you making out with your boyfriend!" Seventeen said quickly, closing his eyes fearfully as he fully expects Eighteen to start yelling at him.

After a few moments however he doesn't hear any angry shouting, and when he opens his eyes he is surprised to see his sister instead looking at him with a smirk.

"I appreciate that you're looking out for me Seventeen, but just so you know if I catch you interfering in my personal affairs again, I'll make sure that you'll regret it!" she said with a somewhat threatening grin, and she enjoys the slightly nervous look that Seventeen gives her in return.

"Ah yeah, I'd rather not deal with your evil plans of vengeance, so I'll be sure to avoid you both at all costs!" Seventeen said jokingly with a grin of his own, before giving her a slightly more serious look.

"But all jokes aside I'm actually happy for you, just don't forget about your brother okay? I'd like for us to meet up again sometime, but until then I guess I'll catch you later!" he finished with a wave, before turning around to walk towards the exit.

Eighteen watches him for a few moments before the urge to say one more thing prompts her to call out to him.

"Hey Seventeen!" she said, to which he stops to look over his shoulder at her.

"Thanks for helping me save Krillin, it really means a lot to me!" Eighteen finishes with a genuine smile, one that her brother reciprocates as the twins share a silent moment of understanding before Seventeen then continues walking until he is out of sight.

Once he's gone Eighteen turns back to walk towards Krillin's room, finding that her thoughts were focusing on a term that Seventeen had used just before, and she smiles at how ridiculous the specific word had sounded.

"Krillin as my boyfriend? It sounds like such a childish term!" she thought to herself with an amused expression, marveling at the meaning behind that simple word.

It wasn't the first time Krillin had been referred to as her boyfriend and usually she would get quite annoyed with whoever had said it, not liking them seemingly deciding what he was to her without her input.

However despite how silly it still sounded, she found that she didn't really mind that Krillin was now referred to as her partner, feeling that it only seemed fitting considering the new step they had taken in their relationship.

Eighteen then shook her head at that with a smile, knowing that it didn't really matter what Krillin was called at the end of the day, only that he meant the world to her.

And now there was nothing holding her back from showing him how she felt about him anymore, the confusion and hesitation that had stopped her previously having completely vanished as she had finally realized what her heart had been telling her for a while now.

That she loved Krillin unequivocally, and from now on she always will.

A/N: There we have it everyone, that is the last chapter of Facing the Future and I'm really happy to have a nice ending for our characters!

I really hoped you enjoyed the story, it was certainly good fun to write and it's really awesome to see everyone's reviews on it! It feels good to know that people like something you came up with, so thanks for all the support and feedback!

For my overall thoughts of the story, I really liked that it had the theme of a K18 story, but with more of a traditional Dragon Ball Z plot. I think that it addressed the connection between Eighteen and her future self in an interesting way, establishing a clear difference between the two and resolving that particular plot thread, seeing at it was never brought up in the main story.

I also thought it was cool for getting some resolution between the present Androids and Trunks, as well as giving his timeline a more interesting finish than what we got originally. It was good to have them interact properly, considering the amount of history they sort of share with each other, and I liked that Trunks could finally see that they were not like the Androids he knew from his timeline.

And on one last note, this will definitely not be the last story I write on here, so keep an eye out for the next one if you're interested in seeing more from me!

Anyway thanks again and good reading, Literal!
