Fictional Reality

X

It is only me, here in the darkness,

And the only sound is of my own breath.

The words are no longer there.

My spirit has been consumed by ebony bonds.

And your pain has reached me,

And mine to you.

X

My only memories are dreams and fantasies,

Of a world inside my head, I can't ignore

How my pain is a tender thing,

And it is you my heart won't ignore.

X

Inflicted pain, is the one thing I know will surely hurt,

I will take if it means I will see you there,

If I can breathe your tears, and be your every caress,

Hear the pounding of our hearts, as we share in our union of souls.

X

How I descend into madness,

For the plague of your tender care,

To imagine how in the darkness,

My world is finally shared.

X

It is your voice I hear,

When you serenade me to greater heights,

It is your hands that are rough and tender,

The sounds of our panting when finally bared.

X

My sweet ecstasy and my torment,

You are fictional, but oh so real,

My mind is yours and in dreams you come,

Our music is never ignored.

My inspiration is a beautiful illustration of Erik coming to Christine when she has lost her voice; Erik breaths back the song and life into her (which is almost a kiss but down to interpretation). Erik says, 'Wake up, my angel,' 'I shall never forsake you, even in your dreams,'. It's on Pinterest, however I was unable to uncover the name of the artist, but if you've seen it around you know what I mean by it being breath-taking. It's beautiful and definitely the epitome of what Erik's and Christine's bond means – one rekindling the flames of the other – and allowing beauty to reign…Or something poetic like that (haha).

My interpretation is not necessarily the same as theirs, in the poem, but merely a reflection on Christine's loss and bittersweet recollection of Erik…leaving you to guess what other aspects are real, if you read in between the lines here. Not specifically any 'verse' but more likely an ALW taint since 1) the Erik vibe in this and 2) I am once again imagining brunette Christine and 3) Erik feels more ALW inspired in the picture so yeah…

Also, this is totally free verse, my rhyme and pattern was irregular - this is the product of a tired mind haha.

I only lost a hour of sleep to it…At one in the morning! GAH STUPID GODDAMN 1AM MUSE PFFT! Honestly, as much as I love being creative, I dearly wish for it to have a limit. Or at least an hourly schedule! I know I don't have to listen to it, but it's like not listening to Erik sing…It's inconceivable. (Also, a cookie for you who knows where that quote is from!)

I do love meself some quoting ;)

Anyway, I am going to go and sleep, eat cookies or just daydream like a certain Little Lotte…

Merci,

Enigma
