A/N: I know in the TV show, Katherine had Jeremy in the trunk when she and Damon were running the necklace away from Mystic Falls. Things will change a bit - Anna isn't dead so she doesn't need Jeremy to talk to her to find out where Mikael is.

A big thank you to everyone who left reviews, and has followed/favourited Soulmates. I know I've been slow on posting, and I'm sorry about that. I do seem to be getting back into it now I've started my Twilight fic, my muse is finally happy so I'm not struggling to write anymore.

August 30th, 2010

Today has been a quiet day, we've spent the day watching TV and playing with Scarlett. I almost managed to forget we're supernatural and live in a world surrounded by the supernatural. Being nearly around 24 weeks pregnant, a quiet day was much needed.

I know that Elena starts senior year the day after tomorrow, so tomorrow night they will all be going to set up for prank night. I have an uneasy feeling, but I'm not sure why. Of course, we did prank night when we started senior year - it seems so long ago.

"You're quiet." Damon says from where he's sat behind me on the couch. Scarlett is in bed for the night.

"Just thinking." I reply.

"Anything interesting?" He asks.

"Just that it's been 2 years since I was setting up for senior prank night, and how much has happened in the last 2 years. Heck even just the last year, year since I met you at the coffee shop."

"Hmm." Damon hums. "You're right. In some ways, it's been the best year of my existence."

"Mine too. A year ago, I was just a teenage single Mom, starting college. Now I'm a half witch, half vampire hybrid, married to my vampire soulmate and pregnant with our second hybrid baby. Werewolves exist. I was adopted, and my real Mom is a hybrid, with my real Dad an Original vampire. My sister's a Doppelganger who was used in a sacrifice and brought back from the dead, and now my 'Uncle', who has turned your brother back into a ripper, is heading to town because my sister is still alive and his hybrids don't work. Yet despite all the drama, I wouldn't change a thing. Being here with my husband, our daughter, and having a son on the way is just perfect."

"I can definitely agree with that." Damon says, wrapping his arms around me and rubbing my belly. "What was that?" He asks, suddenly startled.

"That, dear husband, was our son kicking." I reply. Damon gives me a massive grin.

"That is amazing! Oh, he did it again!"

I turn and smile up at him, before leaning in to kiss him. We spend a while cuddling, Damon talking to my belly trying to get the baby to kick again. Every time he feels him move he grins widely and kisses me softly.

Today has been fun. We decided to be a normal (or as normal as we can be) family and we took Scarlett to the discovery museum. She loved getting to explore everything, and we had a great day, although tiring considering I'm nearly 6 months pregnant.

We arrive back home late, after having stopped for dinner on the way home. We out Scarlett straight to bed and Damon runs a bath for us. We climb in, me resting my back against Damon's chest, and we both relax. Damon gently traces patterns on my arm with one hand, and the other hand rests on my bump. Suddenly we're disturbed by my phone ringing.

"Ignore it." Damon says. I sigh and close my eyes, leaning my head back on his shoulder. My phones stops ringing, then Damon's starts. I groan.

"I'm ignoring it. I don't want to move." Damon says, kissing my temple. His phone stops and mine starts again. I groan.

"I don't think they're going to stop until we answer." I say. Damon buries his head in my neck and groans, before unwrapping his arms so I can get out. He helps me stand and follows me in climbing out of the bath. We wrap ourselves in towels and head into the bedroom to grab our phones.

"Bonnie." Damon says as he checks his missed call list.

"Bonnie here too." I say, hitting the call button to call her back.

"Immy! I've been trying to get hold of you or Damon! Where have you been?" Bonnie exclaims as she answers the phone.

"We were in the bath." I say.

"I don't need to know! Never mind! Klaus is in town, he showed up at senior prank night. He knew Elena was alive, and forced me to find out why his hybrids weren't working. He gave Tyler his blood and killed him, then made me figure out why they hadn't worked. Matt jumped into the pool with a weight tethered to himself so he could speak with Vicki as no one could get hold of Jeremy to speak with her. I had to do CPR and bring him back. The original witch said Elena should be dead, so Klaus decided that it meant the opposite and that his hybrids need Elena's blood to complete the transition. It worked, so now Tyler's a hybrid, but he took Elena to the hospital to take her blood."

"Shit." I exclaim. Damon, who could hear Bonnie, has gotten dressed whilst she was explaining.

"I got this, I'll go get Elena, you stay here with Scarlett." He tells me. I nod, then he kisses me and disappears out of the door.

"Damon's on his way to get Elena. I'm staying here with Scarlett, not to mention Damon would have an overprotective meltdown if I tried to help at 5 months pregnant." I tell Bonnie, rolling my eyes.

"I'm sure he'll be fine. And you should definitely stay out of harm's way." Bonnie replies.

I groan. "Not you too. I'm pregnant not dying."

"We're just looking out for you Immy."

"I know, I know. We'll let you know once Damon has brought Elena here."

"Thanks. Speak soon."

"Speak soon." I reply, ending the call.

I climb into bed and put on a movie, too worried to sleep. It is just finishing when I hear a car pull up. I head downstairs to see Elena coming into the house with Elena. We take her into the parlour and Damon gives her a much needed bourbon.

They explain everything that happened at the school, and how Damon had to get her from the hospital where Klaus had compelled a nurse to take her blood. Damon also says that he had a phone call from Katherine saying that she had found a vampire who kills Vampires - Mikael, and is trying to wake him. When Damon dropped his name to Klaus he disappeared.

"I have a bad feeling about this Mikael. If Klaus is scared of him, then we should be too." I say. Damon hums in agreement.

"He's really gone this time. I watched it happen. After everything that we went through to get...to help him. Now he's just...gone." Elena says, changing the subject. I roll my eyes.

"Well, isn't this cozy?" We hear. We turn around to see Stefan leaning against a pillar at the edge of the room. I groan and closed my eyes.

"What are you doing here, brother?" Damon asks as Stefan crosses the room to pour himself a drink.

"Last I checked, I live here. Klaus is gone, but he's asked me to keep watch on Elena until he returns. From now on, she's under my protection." He says, holding his glass up to her.

I open my eyes and look at him.

"No way are you staying in this house with no humanity. Your one year old niece is asleep upstairs." I say.

"You know she's right brother. You threatened Imogen and our unborn son once. I'm not putting them or Scarlett in harm's way." Damon growls out.

"And what are you going to do about it? I'm invited in." Stefan says with a smirk.

"You're forgetting the spell." I say to him. His face goes blank as he realises what I'm saying.

"You wouldn't." Stefan says.

"I would. I will protect my babies." I reply.

"This is my house too."

"And you will be welcomed back once your humanity is back on." I say, going to get the amulet.

'Grab him before he runs. I need his blood.' I think to Damon.

Damon runs and grabs Stefan, cutting his hand. I quickly catch some blood on the amulet.

"Take him outside." I say. Damon fights with him, but mamages to get him outside. I quickly chant the words of the spell so that he can no longer enter the house. Damon walks bavk through the door, but Stefan is stopped by an invisible barrier.

"You can't do this." He growls out.

"I just did." I reply, just before Stefan closes the door.

We head back to the parlour, where Elena is still sitting.

"I need to learn how to fight. I'm going to ask Ric to train me." She says.

"Good idea." I say. Damon nods.

"Can I stay here tonight?" Elena asks.

"Sure. Pick a guest room." I say.

Damon and I say our goodnights and head upstairs to bed.

September 1st, 2010

Scarlett wakes us early, so we all head downstairs for breakfast after getting dressed. I find a note from Elena saying she called Ric and she went to meet him for a training session before school.

We head into the kitchen and I sit Scarlett in her high chair as Damon gets together ingredients for pancake batter. I grab a couple of blood bags and warm them up.

The doorbell rings, so I grab Scarlett who is grizzling because she's hungry and head to to the door. I open it and see a blonde woman carrying loads of shopping bags standing there.

"Where's Stefan?" She asks.

"He's not here." I say.

"Who the hell are you?" Damon says, coming up behind me.

"He left me here. My brother actually left me here." The blonde tells us.

"You're Klaus's sister?" Damon asks.

"Rebekah. Pleasure, I'm sure. Which one's my room?" She says. She tries to enter the house but is stopped by an invisible barrier. "Why can't I come in?" She asks.

I take a deep breath. "Stefan isn't here, and he won't be able to get back in the house until I let him. And that won't be until his humanity is back on, and he is no longer a threat to our babies."

"So why can't I get in? And who the hell are you?" Rebekah asks.

"You can't get in because I have a spell on the house. Only people I let in can enter, and I can take it away again. Stefan knows all about that. As for who I am - I'm Imogen Salvatore. Wife to this one." I say, inclining my head towards Damon.

"And a cheater judging from the baby in your arms and the fact you're pregnant again." Rebekah grits out.

"Nope. No cheater. I'm assuming you don't know about soulmates." I say.

"I've been daggered in a coffin for the last 90 years. I'm a bit out of the loop." She says. I sigh.

"You're way out of the loop, Aunt Rebekah."

"Aunt Rebekah? Who? How? What?" She replies.

"Elijah is my Dad. I'm half witch, half vampire. I'm also Damon's soulmate, which is how we can have children." I say.

"I really have missed a lot." Rebekah says. "I think we need to sit down and you can tell me all about soulmates. I would also love to get to know your children, they are family after all."

I look at Damon. He shrugs. "It's your call. You're the one with the witchy sixth sense."

I sigh. "Do you promise that you will not harm our children?"

"I promise." Rebekah replies. I can feel her honesty.

"Okay. Damon, grab the amulet." I say. He goes to the parlour and grabs the amulet from the table where I left it last night. When he comes back I hand Scarlett to him, and he hands me the amulet.

"I need you blood. Just a few drops." I say.

Rebekah bites into her hand. I catch a few drops on the amulet, then chant the spell. Once I finish Rebekah tries to come in, but still can't.

"Come in." I say, and she can finally enter.

We head back to the kitchen where we finish making breakfast. Once we're all fed we settle Scarlett down to play with her toys, and explain everything about soulmates, Elijah and Sophia to her.

"So it's possible, if I find my soulmate, that I could have a family?" Rebekah asks in awe.

"It is."

"The one thing I hate about being a vampire is not being able to have a family. It would be amazing if I could still get to have that."

"You just need to find your soulmate." I say.

"I think I already have." She tells us.

"Who?" Damon asks, cocking an eyebrow.

"Stefan. When he's not being a douche." She tells us.

"Even more reason to get his humanity back on." Damon says.

I show Rebekah to one of the guest rooms. She has decided to enrol in school so she heads there for the afternoon, having missed the morning classes.

"I wonder where Stefan went last night." I say.

"Who cares. As long as he's not eating people from Mystic Falls and you three are safe, he can do what he likes." Damon replies.

A little while later we're cooking dinner when there is a knock at the front door. I go to answer it and find Anna on the doorstep.

"Anna! You're back!" I exclaim, letting her into the house.

"Hey! Look at you!" She replies happily.

"I glance down at my baby bump. "I know, 6 months now. Not long to go. What are you doing back?" I ask.

"I missed Jeremy. The pull to him is just getting stronger. I think he might be my soulmate." She tells us.

"Eeek! I hope so!" I say. Damon rolls his eyes.

"On a separate note, I think we need to call in Lexi. Get Stefan into Ripper Rehab." He says.

"That would be good idea." I say. Anna agrees.

Anna heads out to find Jeremy and leaves us to dinner. We put Scarlett to bed after her bath, and climb into bed ourselves.
