"Oh, look, it's from you, Isabella!" Phineas said, as he started to read the letter. The delivery woman left the group alone to do the rest of her rounds.

Isabella was shaking, scared that he didn't feel the same way. She bit her nails and waited for a rejection. She could feel her cheeks burning up with embarrassment, and she sent a glare to Ginger to get the rest of them out of the situation.

Ginger got the rest of the group to go inside so Phineas and Isabella could have some time to talk. Isabella heard the girls giggling, and she knew that once they were inside, they were going to spy on her anyways. She rolled her eyes, and then looked at Phineas's face, which was going bright red on the spot. She couldn't really read his face, and she was scared to see if anything was going to happen.

Once he had finished reading the letter, he carefully folded it up and put it back in the envelope. Phineas looked up at Isabella, who was standing there, and he could tell she was shaking.

"I-Isabella?" he asked, with a confused look on his face.

She felt her heart drop in his chest. He didn't have a smile on his face at all. It was just a cold, confused face. He was blushing really red, but her heart had stopped. "I'm sorry, Phineas. I shouldn't have written the letter, I just-" she started, looking at the ground, not wanting to see his disappointed face, when she felt a hand on her shoulder. She looked up to see Phineas, with a slight smile on his face. "W-what are you doing, Phineas?" she asked, seeing her best friend looking at her with a look of either admiration or sympathy on his face.

"I- I didn't know you liked me like that..." he said. "But, Izzy, you're my best friend. I have to say, I never really thought of you as more than that bu-" he tried to say, but before he could say the second part, he saw her eyes well up with tears. "No! Don't cry, Izzy! I wasn't done talking!" he said, pulling her into a hug.

She wiped her tears, surprised that he had hugged her. "Ph-Phineas? What were you going to say?" she asked with jagged breaths.

"I was going to say, I have never DIRECTLY thought of you like that, but I... I wouldn't be opposed to thinking of it from now on." he said, pulling away from the hug and taking her hand.

"R-really?" she smiled, wiping away her last tear.

"100% serious! Hey, I have an idea! Wanna come on a walk with me?" he asked, offering her his hand.

"I-I'd love that, Phineas!" she said. Her heart was racing. This was not what she thought was going to happen today, but she loved every second of it. She took his hand and immediately felt safe. She sighed delightfully, and Phineas looked over at her.

"You okay?" he asked, smile creeping across his face and heart racing. Phineas couldn't believe what was happening. Isabella had been his best friend for years and now everything was changing. For the better, of course. He brushed up against her, holding her hand. He could feel a heartbeat in their hands, and couldn't figure out if it was her or him. If it was him, he hoped she couldn't feel it.

"I'm just perfect, Phineas... nothing could be better than this." she giggled and looked at him. He was blushing as red as a tomato. "You know, you're cute when you're flustered." she said.

"Oh, really?" he laughed, and led her to a tree in the park near their home. "Shall we?"

"We shall!" she smiled and sat down next to the tree with him.

"So... you've liked me all this time?" he asked.

"Mhmm... how didn't you notice, I thought I was being so obvious!" she laughed and leaned her head against the tree.

"Nope... completely clueless..." he blushed and looked at the ground.

"Isabella, can I be honest with you?" Phineas asked.

"Of course!" she smiled as he held her hands in his.

Phineas couldn't help it. Her hands were so soft and warm, and he just couldn't help but give them a little squeeze.

"I-I think I have liked you for a while, now that I think of it. I don't think I really thought of you as just a friend. I might have unconsciously developed a crush on you but never knew what to call it. I'm glad you told me your feelings, Izzy." he stated, feeling the blood rush to his head and he had no idea what to do next. He wanted to kiss her, but didn't want it to seem too fast.

Eh, what the heck? He thought, and then pressed his lips on hers. Isabella was surprised at first, and had no idea he would do that. They kissed for a few seconds before Phineas pulled away.

"S-sorry, I couldn't help it. You're very pretty." he gave her an awkward smile, and she smiled wide.

"You don't even need to apologize..." she said, looking like her mind was elsewhere. "Thank you, Phineas..." she said, after realizing he gave her a compliment.

They sat there in silence for a few minutes, figuring out what just happened.

"Isabella?" Phineas said, breaking the silence.

"Yeah?" she replied.

"Will you be my g-girlfriend?" he said.

"Yes, Phineas! Yes, of course!" she screamed with happiness. "I mean, yeah sure why not..." she said, after composing herself.

Phineas laughed and wrapped his arm around her. "You don't have to pretend around me, you know?"

"I know..." she said, snuggling into his side as they both closed their eyes.

Phineas opened his before he fell asleep. "By the way, I'm glad to be called your little crumbcake." he chuckled.

Isabella's eyes opened wide. "Can we just... pretend I didn't put that in there?" she laughed nervously.

"Nope, you're never living that one down." he smiled, leaning his head on top of hers.

"Oh, brother..." she mumbled with a small smile, and soon, the two fell asleep on each other in the park.
