Deep Within

Part II

"Bellatrix! Bellatrix come down here!" Blinking at the glaring sun, Bellatrix groggily turned her head to face her bedroom door, "Urgh, what the hell happened last night." Trudging along her room, she grabbed for a robe behind the door and headed out into the hallway. Throwing the robe around her shoulders and sliding her arms through the sleeves, she groaned. "Bellatrix!" Grumbling at the loudness of her sister's voice, she made her way down the stairs "Would you shut up Dromeda!" Hearing the laughter from her dining room, she walked down the corridor next to the staircase and appeared in the doorway. Judging by the look on Andromeda's face, she must have looked an absolute sight.

"Well you look thoroughly hung over." Bellatrix glared at her sister and slumped into the chair closest to the door, "Why are you here? Damn, I need to sleep this off before my show tonight." Bellatrix grumbled as she rubbed her eyes. Andromeda giggled and leaned into her hand, "I'm here my dear sister, for our lunch date but clearly you've forgotten about this." Lifting her head and narrowing her eyes, Bellatrix sighed, "I'm sorry Dromeda, I did forget, can we rain check?" A nod and another chuckle from Andromeda gave Bellatrix time to fix her hang over. "Thank you. Why don't you come through tonight and we can go for supper after?" Andromeda looked thoughtful for a moment, "That actually sounds delightful, I'll see if Nymphadora would like to join me."

"I'll leave two tickets with the witch in the ticket box, you'll just need to supply your name and she'll give them to you." Andromeda smiled at Bellatrix and turned her head at the sound of a door slamming upstairs, "Did you have company over last night?" Bellatrix shrugged, "Don't know, can't remember much." Just then a voice sounded out from the foyer, "Bellatrix?" Turning in her chair, she called out that they were in the dining room. "Ah there you are…" A tall brunette appeared in the dining room, pausing at the sight of Andromeda, "Oh, I didn't realise you had company this morning." Turning to face the woman, Bellatrix glanced over her frame, "I must apologise, I can't actually recall much of last night." The woman smiled in a friendly manner, chuckling as she replied, "It's alright, I'm not really surprised, you did drink quite a lot last night."

Clearing her throat Andromeda stood up, "I'll see you later." Bellatrix shook her head, "No, you don't have to leave, we haven't had our tea. This lovely lady," Turning to look at the woman, Bellatrix waited for her to supply her name, "Michelle." Looking back to Andromeda, "Michelle, was just leaving, we can continue catching up." The brunette, Michelle, looked awkwardly between Bellatrix and Andromeda, before scratching the back of her head and waving goodbye. When the sound of the front door closing echoed out, Bellatrix let her head drop onto the table with a loud 'thunk'. "Circe above, what in the name of Morgana did I get up to last night." Andromeda gently lay her hand upon her head and waited for her to recollect herself. "I must be more careful or my manager will have my arse."

Andromeda gave her sister a once over, bare feet resting against the chair's legs, naked body only covered by a sheer robe and hair a tangled mess, make-up smudged and dark bags beneath her eyes. "You do look like you had a rough night. Is there any particular reason you had the need to get completely inebriated?" Running her fingers through the curls, she waited for Bellatrix to respond. "Cissy wants me to try and get to know Miss Granger, I have this horrible feeling that she's trying to set me up with the young witch." Andromeda's eyes widened, "Would you not maybe want to try to get to know her? You both seem to find the other appealing." Bellatrix lifted her head and frowned at her sister, "Andromeda, it's only been two months since the poor girl's unfortunate incident, why are you and Narcissa trying to put us together?" Andromeda rubbed her arm and looked at Bellatrix, "I'm hoping that you two might be able to form more of a friendship than anything else, which should also help keep her from slipping into a depression."

Now Bellatrix looked puzzled, "You and your idea of therapy is confusing my brain, how is me being a friend to Miss Granger going to help? I'm more likely to bring the bad memories forward again, after all I was in the restaurant the same night of her attack." Andromeda's incredulous expression interrupted Bellatrix, "What?" Andromeda raised her perfectly plucked eyebrow, "Miss Granger will be happy to have someone else to speak with, she is a bit lonely, or that's what she told me in our last session. Mr Potter hasn't been to see her since the incident, he's been busy trying to find the attackers and Miss Granger hasn't got the best relationship with Mrs Potter not since the fiasco with her brother in their final year." Bellatrix scratched a spot on the table in thought, "Dromeda, isn't telling me all of this a breach of her confidence? Not that I'll say anything but still." Andromeda raised her hands, "Yes, it is but is it helping you decide?" Waggling her eyebrows with a smile, she waited for Bellatrix to respond.

"I guess I could acquiesce to your request." Andromeda grinned, "Thank you, you have no idea how much I appreciate you doing this for Miss Granger." Waving her hand uncaringly, Bellatrix pushed away from the table, "I know I said for you to stay for tea, but I really need to get in the shower." Andromeda stood up, "That's alright Bella, I'll see you later." Giving her a playful wink that gave Bellatrix pause, she waited for Andromeda's retreating form to disappear from her sights. "Well that doesn't seem to bode well." Shrugging to herself, she turned and headed for her bedroom. Deciding on having a bath instead of a shower, Bellatrix ran her water adding in her jasmine infused bath salts to help relax her muscles. Tossing her robe into the hamper, she tied her hair into a bun and slowly slid into the tub. The feeling of her muscles relaxing was a dream for Bellatrix, leaning back with her head resting against the edge, she closed her eyes.

By the time she was done soaking and bathing, Bellatrix had been in her bathroom for nearly two hours. Standing in front of her mirror she gave herself another once over, checking that everything was perfect for her evening. She wore a sleeveless black evening dress with a plunging neckline and a thigh high slit on the left side. Her hair was done into an elegant French braid, on her ears she wore long drop diamond earrings. Upon her thumb and index fingers of her left hand, she wore her two favourite rings; a set of interlocked silver filigreed bands and on her right hand she wore her house ring on her pinkie finger. Her feet were adorned with black stiletto open toe lace up strappy sandal heels. "Nicely done Bellatrix." She whispered with a smile. The last thing she needed to do was to apply her red smokey eye, eye makeup and her dark blood red lipstick. Twisting around to double check herself, Bellatrix decided that she was ready to make her departure. Walking down to her apparition point, she stepped through her front door and twisted into her apparition, disappearing with a soft 'pop'.

Andromeda was stalking along the streets of Muggle London; she was on a mission and her target was one Hermione Granger. Stepping onto the path that would lead her toward the front door, Andromeda cast a quick glance around the street before knocking on the door. Waiting for the young witch to open the door, she rocked back and forth on her feet. At the sound of a voice, she turned around, "Madam Tonks, how may I help you?" Stepping past the threshold when Hermione moved, she looked around the living room. A large bookshelf stood against the back wall with a set of armchairs situated on either side of it, she also noted a full cup of tea with a book upon the small coffee table.

"I was actually wondering if you're busy tonight?" Taking the proffered seat, Andromeda crossed her legs and waited for Hermione to sit down across from her, "No, I'm free tonight." Andromeda smiled and leaned against her knees, "Excellent, I'd like to ask if you'd be interested in accompanying me to an event?" Hermione took a sip of her tea before looking over toward Andromeda, "Oh? That sounds quite lovely, where are we going?" Andromeda smiled brightly, "It's a surprise." Hermione looked a bit nervous, "Do you own any formal evening attire?" Hermione shrugged lightly, "I think I do; I'll have a look." Andromeda smiled, "Alright, then I shall collect you at five thirty tonight. Make sure you spruce yourself up." Hermione watched as the older witch stood and winked in her direction, "I'm sorry to drop in so quickly and then leave, I need to get ready myself. I'll see you later dear." Hermione nodded and waved as Andromeda left her home.

A while later, Hermione headed for her bedroom, she could feel the apprehension building in her and had to pause to check over her shoulders. Sighing out in frustration, she turned back to face her bedroom door and continued walking, "Come on Hermione, there's nothing to stress about, everything is fine." Mumbling to herself as she strode over to her wardrobe, Hermione reached for the handles and opened the double doors. Pulling out a few items to try out, she finally settled on an outfit. Placing her chosen attire upon her bed, she headed for her shower, washing down and cleaning her hair, she leaned her head against the shower wall as a few shudders racked her body. Andromeda had been helping her work through her moments, every time she had the feeling of being inappropriately touched, she had to close her eyes and breath her way through it.

When the water had run cold, Hermione stepped out of the shower and dried herself off, towelling her hair until it was dry enough to shape. Sitting down in front of her dressing table, towel wrapped around her body, she began brushing her hair out. Twirling her curls into a twisted updo and applying a light amount of make-up, she moved away from her dressing table and began getting dressed. Slipping her dark emerald green long sleeve shirt on and securing its buttons, she turned back to her bed and grabbed her straight leg black dress pants and slipped them on. After tucking her shirt beneath the waist band and pulling at her sides slightly, she pulled up the zipper and buttoned them closed. Sitting down on her dressing table chair, she pulled on her ankle boots and secured their buckles, when she was done, she stood up and stepped over toward her full-length mirror to checked herself over. After making sure that everything was in order, she placed her black swallow-tailed long coat upon her shoulders and headed back for her stairs and it was just in time it seemed, as the sound of knocking on her front door could be heard.

Opening her door, she wasn't surprised to see Andromeda standing outside. She was dressed in a long indigo coloured evening dress and had her hair hanging loosely around her shoulders. "Hello dear, you look absolutely beautiful." Hermione felt her cheeks redden slightly and shyly smiled, "Thank you, you do too." Pushing her arms through her coat's sleeves, Hermione crossed the doorway and looked at Andromeda patiently. "Are you ready?" Nodding, she placed her hand in the crook of Andromeda's elbow and felt the familiar sensation of apparition as it took over seconds later. They arrived outside the theatre and headed over to the ticket box, "The theatre?" Andromeda nodded and smiled, "Yes, you're my surprise guest." Suddenly feeling as if she was being watched, Hermione nervously glanced around the high street before slinking closer to Andromeda's side.

"Good evening, I'm collecting tickets for tonight's show." Hermione watched the woman in the ticket booth look up at Andromeda, "Name please." Stepping over to the right side of Andromeda, Hermione kept her eyes focused upon the front doors of the theatre. "Andromeda Tonks and guest." The woman slid the envelope over to Andromeda which she scooped up. Turning to face Hermione, she motioned for her to follow and together they walked over to the doorman where their tickets were taken and they were directed to the private box seats on the right side of the auditorium. "Did you plan this?" Andromeda took her seat and turned to face Hermione with a slight smile, "Not exactly, I was presented with the option and so I decided instead of bringing Nymphadora with me, I'd invite you to join me." Hermione looked around the auditorium and found most of the seats were filled, with some people still filtering in through the doors. "Are you upset that I asked you?" Hermione shook her head, "No, not at all, just surprised that you chose me. Who are we here to see anyway?"

Andromeda gave Hermione her best impression of a poker face before responding, "That's a surprise my dear, however I'm sure you'll enjoy every moment." Hermione gave Andromeda an odd look, raising her eyebrow before shrugging and looking back over to the stage which was still unlit, "Will I be coming through for my next session with you next week?" Andromeda looked down at Hermione who was now flicking invisible lint from her pants before responding, "Yes and I'm hoping that we will make more progress. At this present time, you are doing wonderfully and I'm glad to see how far you've come." A blush spread across Hermione's cheeks once again, "Thank you, I don't always feel like I'm doing well but I can admit that I'm not as nervous around men as I was a few weeks back." Gently laying her hand on Hermione's back, she felt the slightest twitch but was happy to note that she didn't flinch and pull away as she had done a month prior. "I'm proud of your progress my dear."

The lights around them darkened as the stage was illuminated, the curtains were slowly being opened and Hermione felt her breath hitch and her eyes widen at the gorgeous visage that stood in the centre of the stage. A black sleeveless evening dress showed off an ample bosom, a thigh high slit gave Hermione's eyes a view of a smooth milky white leg. Dark brunette hair was pulled into a French braid and Hermione could just make out the dark red on her perfect bow shaped lips, "She's gorgeous." Feeling Andromeda's eyes on her, she turned to face the older witch and caught sight of a grin, "Nice to know." At Andromeda's wink, Hermione's face blushed a bright red, "Sorry, I didn't realise I said that out loud." A shaking head and a chuckle answered Hermione, "It's alright dear, I'm fully aware of your crush and yes, she is beautiful." Turning her eyes back toward the stage, she listened as the first notes from the orchestra filled the large room followed by Bellatrix's beautiful voice.

I hear your whispers, break the silence…

And it calms me down…

Your taste on my lips, your salty kisses…

They say I'm seeking up the danger…

That one day you won't let me go…

I'll drown, you'll let me down…

I need you Aquarius, enchanted I will have to stay…

I feel you Aquarius, 'cause you're the sea, set me free…

You call to me Aquarius, you call to me, you set me free…

Hermione watched as Bellatrix's arms stretched outwards as she turned to face her and Andromeda, her eyes focused upon Hermione and she seemed to falter but her recovery was fast and not many noticed. Hermione couldn't move her eyes away from the darker witch as she walked over to the other side of the stage as she sang louder, her right arm falling down to rest against her abdomen as she sang for her captivated audience.

I relinquish, to your powers…

From your grasp, I just can't hide…

I missed the danger, I had to conquer…

You made me feel alive…

They say I have to be aware…

That one day you won't let me go…

Take me down…

I need you Aquarius, enchanted I will have to stay…

I feel you Aquarius, 'cause you're the sea, set me free…

You call to me Aquarius, you call to me, you set me free…

I long for you Aquarius…

I need to be with you again…

I fear you, Aquarius…

My destiny 'till the end…

After a few more songs and the feeling of the music pumping through her body, the sound of the crowd applauding put a large smile on Bellatrix's face as she bowed to those gathered, her eyes moved across the hundreds gathered until she found a set of honey coloured eyes. Smiling and waving at the young Miss Granger and her sister, she moved off stage to get some water before her last song of the evening. The stage manager gave her the all clear and so she once again stepped out in front of the audience, wizards and witches applauded her once more. The next chords began playing and she started on her next song, her voice resonating around the auditorium, she glanced up at the young beauty that sat next to her sister and sang.

She sang for you last night, she heard you were calling…
Drowning in tears a thousand times…
Your spirit was floating, your spirit was searching…
On a cloud of dreams…

A moon beam shines bright in the city of angels…
Guiding the dreamers back to life…
And they'll do the same, every tomorrow…
'Till the pain subsides…

Don't be scared now, close your eyes…
She holds guard tonight…
Go forward, no remorse…
Life will take its course…

Bellatrix strode across the stage, eyes gazing over the people before she lifted her hands in the direction of Hermione as her words reached toward the young witch. She let the orchestra play out some more chords as she took another drink from her water bottle, placing the bottle back down she turned back to face her audience again, keeping her eyes on the middle of row of the auditorium as she began to sing again.

She danced with you last night so you will remember…
All you have shared, a lifetime…
The angels were watching and death will be waiting…
Until the time is right…

Don't be scared now, close your eyes…
She holds guard tonight…
Go on forward, No remorse…
Life will take its course…

Hold on to memories…

See what lies ahead…
Life will go on and we are one…
With every step you take…

Bellatrix raised her arms and bowed to her fans; the crowd started throwing roses as the sound of their applause rose in volume. She turned to face Hermione and Andromeda, looking Hermione dead in the eye, she blew her a kiss and winked before bowing to everyone, "Thank you! Thank you all for being here tonight!" Waving at everyone before bowing one last time, she turned and headed off the stage, the curtains closing at her retreating form. Walking down the corridor, she made her way to the room she'd been allocated to freshen up before she'd meet her sister and Miss Granger outside.

Walking out of the theatre, Bellatrix made her way over to where she saw Andromeda and Miss Granger, "Good evening Dromeda, Miss Granger." Both witches turned to face her, "Hello sister dear. Wonderful performance tonight, I shall endeavour to come through and watch you again." Cheeks pinking, she turned to face the younger witch, "Good evening Madam Black. It's an honour to finally meet you and to finally be able to see you perform live." Smiling in response, she turned to face Andromeda again, "Where to ladies?" Andromeda looked over at Hermione and smiled, "Why don't you choose dear?" Hermione blushed at the attention, "We could go to Casa da Rosa?" Andromeda looked at Hermione with a raised brow, "Are you sure? We don't want you to feel uncomfortable." Hermione merely nodded gently, "I'm sure, if I feel uncomfortable at all during supper, I'll inform you immediately."

Nodding in agreement, Andromeda motioned for Bellatrix to lead the way. Following behind the older witch Andromeda kept her eyes on Hermione, making sure that the younger witch was coping. So far nothing had happened, Hermione's head would twist from side to side every so often but other than that she was doing well. Bellatrix walked toward the door of the restaurant, opening it to allow both Hermione and Andromeda in, she followed behind them soon after. "Good evening, welcome to Casa da Rosa, table for three?" Nodding, Andromeda trailed behind the waiter, Hermione and Bellatrix following soon after. The waiter led them to a table situated on the balcony of the first floor, Andromeda sat with her back to the main portion of the restaurant while Bellatrix and Hermione sat across from her. "Before we look at our menus, I just wanted to say that I'm sorry to hear about your ordeal Miss Granger."

Hermione looked toward Bellatrix before casting her eyes to the table, "Thank you Madam Black, but I am doing much better than before, all thanks to Madam Tonks and her therapy." Andromeda smiled softly in thanks, "Yes, Miss Granger, you are indeed doing very well." Bellatrix felt Andromeda nudge her leg. "Let us order and we can continue chatting." Picking up her menu, Bellatrix looked through the many options until her eyes landed on what she would have. "Good evening ladies, are you ready to order?" Three heads nodded, "I'll have a braised lamb shank with the creamy polenta please." Bellatrix gave her order first, then Andromeda gave hers, "I'd like the same please" The waiter looked to Hermione, "I'll have the avocado and salmon salad please." Bellatrix turned to face Hermione and smiled.

"Tell me Miss Granger, what do you do for a living?" Hermione shyly rubbed her arm, "I don't work Madam Black, my girl, er… my ex-girlfriend didn't really want me to work." Bellatrix looked Andromeda before looking back at Hermione, "If you could, what would you do? And please call me Bellatrix or Bella." Hermione smiled, "I wouldn't have minded working in the Ministry." Bellatrix leaned her head atop her wrist, "Which department?" Hermione rested her elbows on the table before responding, "Well when I was still in school, I'd said to Professor McGonagall that I would apply for a position in the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures." Nodding, Bellatrix picked up her glass of wine and took a sip, "That sounds interesting, why don't you apply now? You've not got anything holding you back." Andromeda excused herself for a moment, leaving Hermione and Bellatrix to continue their chatting. After Andromeda's return, their food arrived, thus cutting their conversations short. They resumed their light hearted chats sometime during their meal, Andromeda told them of Nymphadora's little boy, Teddy, and how much he'd grown in the last two years.

Bellatrix told them that she was thinking of taking a month's leave from performing so that she could relax and Hermione mentioned that she wanted nothing more than to be back to her old self, to which Bellatrix responded by saying that she could spend some time at the Manor with her if she was interested. "Really?" Hermione looked between the two sisters, "Of course darling, perhaps then you might be able to apply for that job?" Andromeda nodded in agreement, "I think that would be a splendid idea." Hermione flushed and smiled at them both. "Thank you for your generosity, I'll give it a think over and let you know, is that alright?" Bellatrix nodded after taking a bite of her lamb shank. The three witches continued their evening much the same, eating and chatting in between. Not long after they'd finished with their meal, they ordered themselves dessert. Bellatrix got herself a white chocolate strawberry mousse, Andromeda decided on the lemon mousse with blueberry and meringue and Hermione settled on the black forest pavlova.

After their evening together, the three ladies decided to call it a night, "That was a lovely evening, thank you both so very much. I really enjoyed your performance tonight Bellatrix and I promise, I will think on your offer." Bellatrix on a spur of the moment, pulling Hermione into a tight hug. "I'll see you in a week Miss Granger. Bella, let me know when you're free for coffee with Cissa." Hugging Bellatrix and waving to Hermione, Andromeda disappeared with a soft 'pop'. "If you're alright with it, I'd like to owl you." Hermione blushed slightly and nodded, "I'd like that." Bellatrix conjured a piece of parchment and quill, scrawling on the parchment, she handed it to Hermione. "Without knowing my address, your owl won't find me." Taking the note, Hermione scanned it; Black Manor, Salisbury, England. "Thank you. Well Madam Black, I best be off, have a lovely evening further." Bellatrix smiled and waited for the younger witch to disapparated.
