A Massassi related idea- Naga Sadow and Exar Kun both take Massassi, and to a lesser extent Kissai, and Zuguruk Sith with them to Yavin IV. The destruction of Exar Kun in 3996 BBY does not kill all of the Sith on Yavin IV; over time the Sith use the old tech left behind by the war to build themselves a simple civilisation that survives - with many of the brutish traits Exar Kun added to the Massassi genome breed away as the sub-species merge to survive, leaving them stronger, and more intelligent. They worship the looming Yavin, and though Exar Kun, Naga Sadow, etc are mentioned as Avatars of the Planet God they don't follow their Sith (faith) ways, the preists preach less destructive ways such as competitive sports to ensure the low population tribes survive. Many are actual Force users, but few Sith (faith) worshippers emerge - occasionally one will enter a forbidden temple and meet a Sith spirit, then cause a war amongst the tribes, (and later towns), but it generally falls apart once the warlord dies; the only major legacy is the name Sith falls out of use in favour of Massassi.

600 BBY: Kushiban Jedi Master Ikrit arrives on Yavin IV and explores the ruined (and forbidden) Palace of the Woolamander- he discovers the lost Golden Globe and manages to free the trapped Massassi children's souls thanks to the help of Sith children. Ikrit stays on Yavin IV to teach the Massassi, though they mix Jedi ways with their own force affinity.

In 1 BBY Rebel Alliance scouts turn up looking for a base. The Massarri greet them, and agree to find them a hiding spot in exchange for tech, but not one of the temples- instead one of the dead volcanos and its tunnels can be used. Then the barely trained force sensitive Luke arrives...
