A Wish With The Best Intentions

Chapter One: The Wish

*AN: Skip-able Intro Recap. *

Aladdin was a street rat. Him and his pet monkey Abu were vagrants of the society in which they lived. Despite this, Aladdin thrived, stealing the things he needed or getting them through hard work. Either way Aladdin was by no means normal. His mother had perished when he was young. His father never anywhere to be seen, only vague stories of a merchant father he never knew. Even when she was sick, she never stopped being his mother.

Mother would read to him all the time, and when she got sick, she still did so. When the money got tight, the books where sold. Yet, she still continued to tell him stories. Stories about all sorts of things, stories that would make one forget reality, and finally stories that would make one dream.

Still he was just a thief trying to survive in the large desert kingdom of Agrabah. He had dreams though, that said, anyone else would call those dreams crazy. He was a street rat, abandoned by his merchant father, left to fend for himself after his mother passed. He dreamed to be a somebody, to have a family, to have riches, to not be a street rat anymore.

And while he was envious of the rich princes that would come from afar. He was truly only jealous of their freedoms, not of them personally. Those princes would come to seek the hand of the Sultans daughter. Truly a terrible bunch of bloody rich brats with no redeeming qualities. Still, it was always hilarious when they got inevitably rejected. He thought they should try harder to fix their personal flaws, as they only really had wealth, and obviously the princess had enough of that already.

Today he was stealing breads, fruits, and whatever else he could. Anything extra he took to the younger homeless children. He always had a soft spot for them. That was until he noticed a young girl who looked out of place. She was at the market, which wasn't odd. No it was the fact she was about to lose her arm. She was no thief, but she had stolen none the less, it was comical to Aladdin. How could someone so pure and innocent have ended up in such a situation?

So he did what came natural to him, he saved her. That innocent girl who had no right being a thief. Aladdin could only guess that she was someone of a higher class, someone who ended up somewhere they don't belong. Obviously she had no concept of being told no, she was immature, she was innocent.

It was some time quite later, but Aladdin had manged to show the girl his home. While it was home, it was still an abandoned condemned house. Something he believed she would scoff at. But despite this fact, she didn't begrudge for his home at all. She was beautiful, and they got along perfectly. He couldn't help but feel enamored, it was just like one of the stories his mother had read to him in the past.

It all seemed to good to be true. Well as it turned out, it was, as guards rushed into his home. Aladdin did not try to put up a fight, but in a show of bravado, tried to stall for time for the girl he hardly knew. There was no escaping, they had never tracked him to his home before...

The young girl, as it turns out, was actually the Sultan's daughter, Princess Jasmine. She tried to free him, but he was still taken away. Honestly he didn't know what to think. He was glad he had made such a good impression, even if in the future he would just rot away in a cell.

Later Jasmine was told that the Street Rat, known to her as Aladdin, was executed by the Sultan's most trusted advisor Jafar. She was not pleased, but she couldn't do anything either. She would go to her father, Jafar was not to be trusted as of late. She still suspected the man, as her mother passed shortly after his employ, at the time she was a child though..

It was then that Aladdin was offered a deal for freedom. He'd be entering a cave for an old man. The old man had broke him out of his cell, so doing him this favor only seemed fair. After all, how hard would it be to get him a golden lamp from a cave?

But the old man advised he should take none of the treasure inside the cave, no matter how tempted, or he'd be doomed. And so, with the old man's blessing, Aladdin set out.

The cave of wonders was aptly named. Inside was a treasure trove. Still Aladdin did as he was asked of, and returned to the old man, lamp in his hand. It was then he realized he had been tricked. Jafar was actually the old man all along. Thankfully he was not a naive young boy. The real lamp was with Abu before Jafar could realize his mistake. Jafar grew angry as he threw the fruit which had been switched out for his lamp. The cave of wonder was no more, instead only a dune of sand remained.

Jafar would not give up so readily, the boy would return.

Meanwhile our hero Aladdin, now sits trapped within.

*AN: Skip-able Into Recap End. *

"I can't believe this!" Aladdin yelled to no one in particular.

The cave of wonders was now dank and dark, save for a single candles light. He was trapped. Just him and his monkey. No food, no water, but plenty of treasures... Still no way to take them. He gripped the lamp in his hand in frustration, he was nearly ready to discard in anger.

That is when he accidentally rubbed it.

Aladdin dropped the lamp between his feet, as blue vapor spewed from the lamp.

"Hello!" Sprang a strange blue creature from the lamp.

"Who, what are you?" Asked Aladdin as he quickly took a standing postion.

"I'm the Genie of the lamp." Said the boisterous blue man.

"And that is?"

And so the genie did a giant crazy magical music number to explain himself. It was quite a lot of fun, and Abu seemed particularity pleased.

"So I get three wishes eh. Whats the catch, there a time limit, and what do you get out of it?" Aladdin voiced his questions. His mom had read him plenty of stories, some which included malevolent beings which would trick you with false wishes. Or end up with the protagonist worse off then when he started after being given a free wish. Another story ended up with a man being made King in only name, or another which resulted in a becoming a ruler only to be drawn and quartered by his own subjects. Wish granting beings in stories where always up to no good.

"Take all the time you need sonny boy, if I can call you that. But yeah no catch, and hopefully if I grant your wishes real good you might use one of the three wishes to set me free." Stated the Genie of the lamp.

'So there was a catch? You want your freedom huh?'

"Genie, I need some time to think, but I swear it as a homeless boy without a family, trapped in a life I hate, you will be free today." It was always a good idea to please an all powerful wish granting being, at least in the books he had been read as a kid. The power of words, is the greatest power humanity has after all. Being able to read was also a necessity in thievery work.

And so Aladdin sat down and thought. At first he thought about nonsensical wishes, like asking to be a prince or getting the princess love. All of these wishes ended in tragedy however. He was not the author of this book, no, it was the genie. He could ask for something only for it to be swindled from him, he was not the author of his own story...

So he came to a thought. Anything I wish for will feel hollow because I did nothing to earn it anyways. But then he thought about it some more. Aladdin loved books and stories, despite the fact he couldn't afford to buy them. But he still had heard great stories and acquired some texts in old buildings he had looted even to this day. Why couldn't he be the author of his own story?

"Genie, I have a question for you, could you grant a wish that makes a book, reality?"

The genie looked stumped for a moment.. "You know, that technically is like asking for multiple wishes, but I think you could, let me check."

And so the Genie checked a large tomb that said, "Da Rules". And after a blitz of reading he came to the conclusion, yes he can. The genie was astounded, had no one writing the rule book, not considered this?

And with that, Aladdin started to write a story on an old scroll inside the cave. The ink was very fine and despite Aladdin's terrible spelling, grammar, and writing, he manged to pen a good, if illegible story.. Aladdin would have to be thorough if he wanted his idea to work. He would become the master of his own story, and best of all, he'd never know it.

*Chapter One: The Wish*

Writing his story took a while, but he thought it over carefully.

There once was a kingdom, it was a giant city. "No I can do better." And this city was massive, making Agrabah look tiny in comparison, yes it was growing everyday. Further this city was not locked to a single location, instead the beautiful city flew high in the clouds above everyone else. "Much better."

'Still, something grand like that people would notice, if only as a myth.' Al thought.

'Perhaps..' The city did not interact with the people down bellow very often, or maybe in secret, and only cousins of the royal family with special status could trade secretly with those below.

'Hmmm, what else? Perhaps the city is magical, perhaps so are it's citizens?' They created all sorts of magical crafts with their magic of course, but they were highly regulated, and anyone who broke the kingdoms rules would be exiled from it... Upon a fair trail. 'It's important that a city has good trades and fair rules. Not just magic.'

The city ran on the magic of it's male king, only his blood, no other could take his place. The people also all had been granted magic by their king, it made their lives much easier, and allowed for no one to starve, or go without creature comforts. 'That should prevent street rats from existing there. But also stresses the importance of their king.'

The royal family had a son. 'Wait.' Thought Aladdin. They had a son and daughter.

'I always wanted a sister.' The family had to go into exile.

'I need a reason for being in Agrabah, but also a reason for them to come get me.' He thought.

But there was a sickness, and the citizens demanded the royal family leave, in order to protect them. Luckily magic was potent and prevented the grand majority of the death's, giving one more reason for the citizens to love their king that granted them their magic.

"Whew, don't want to harm my future subjects." Said Aladdin.

The city's magic power could last without the royal blood line for thirty years, but the royal line must always return for the city to keep it's magic going. But the royal heir was lost somewhere abroad. Magic could confirm he was alive, but not his exact whereabouts. Further the sickness lasted over fifteen years. 'That covers most of my life so far. Hopefully should make the story more plausible.' He thought.

So when the sickness was cured, and no more sick cases existed, a search was put out by the remaining royal family to return the prince to his rightful position. 'Hmm, they will need some kind of trained force to protect themselves too, oh, and rescue me from the life of a street rat as well.'

So the kingdom sent their best magic users, their kingdoms very powerful self defense force, to find the young prince.

The now teenaged prince managed to escape a trap by the Vizer Jafar, getting out of the cave of wonders. 'But how?' Thought Aladdin for a moment.

"Of course, the royal line had magic, whose to say he couldn't accidentally use it." Aladdin said aloud, spooking the genie.

The young boy managed to escape the cave with his innate magic accidentally. It was then a day later he was saved by his kingdom.

"That should do it, I think." He penned the last bit.

*Chapter One: The Wish*

Aladdin had the best intentions, but he was not a professional story teller. His story was basic, it had some major flaws, and discrepancies in his story would get him kicked out of writers club, if they existed. Normally he could not even get the parchment to write a story, his penmanship was only practiced in the desert sands.. He could have included the fact the prince was recovered, or they found him, instead of using the words, they saved him. Still his story may, just may, be creating a monster.

"Genie, I think I'm ready to make all my wishes!" He stood up, scroll in his hand.

"Wow Al, buddy, you might be the fastest master at making wishes I've ever had."

"Genie, I have a plan, but I think I will start my plan by reassuring you of the fact that you shall soon be free."

"I've heard it all before kid, and the masters I've had always swore they free me with their third wish and did not out of their greed. Still I hope you will be different."

"No need to hope Genie. My plan will result in us both going along our merrier ways none the wiser."

"My first wish is this. I wish that upon the completion of my third wish being granted, the genie will be set free."

The genie gasped. 'It was actually happening, this young boy was setting him free. He would have to wait, but he was still soon to be free.' Genie thought.

'I'll have to make sure I really make his wishes exactly as he wants them!'

"Genie you do not have to wait, I'll start my second wish now. I wish that the contents of this story were the absolute truth about my origins!"

A clap of thunder struck randomly. The magnitude of this wish was enormous. While the genie had meddled with time, and created life before, never had he on such a grand scale. This wish was dangerous. More dangerous then any of the wishes before. Wishes like returning people from the dead. Wishes so dangerous that shattering the milky way in a massive paradox might be the smallest consequence. Still he had to grant this wish! If he did not, he could never be free! He would take the chance, consequences be damned.

"Granted." Genie stated while feeling extremely tired, and also very glad that the multiverse was still in one piece afterwards.

"Doesn't seem any different, but I will take your word for it." Said Aladdin.

"Okay Genie final wish now, after this you are going to be free, and well both be going on our separate paths."

"Al it was great knowing you, and in all honesty, I wish you the best of luck." The Genie's anticipation was growing by the second.

"Genie for my third and final wish, please remove our memories from the moment you came out of the lamp. Abu shouldn't remember this either."

"Al! But you won't even remember freeing me, or making your wishes!" The genie was shocked by his final wish.

"That is what I want Genie. I could never really fully love my new family, or Kingdom for that matter if I knew it was all fake, that I had wished for it. So instead it will be as if this was all predestined, preordained by destiny, it's the only way I'd ever accept it.."

"Al, you might just be the wisest master I've ever had. And maybe, you never know, maybe this was all predestined after all. Farewell, wish granted." The Genie cried.

*Chapter One: The Wish*

Aladdin was holding the lamp. He was frustrated. His anger started boiling, and then the scenery changed. He was back inside his home, with all its clutter, broken glass and missing roof. And wait, are those guards.

"Shit."

*Chapter One: The Wish*

Viktoriya Ivanovna was currently on a very important assignment. The Empire was in dire need of it's heir to the throne. The people of the Empire in the last few years were getting restless. With the Kaiser passing from the plague, his son was needed to restore order to the Empire. Right now the Army's self defense forces were being used on citizens to quell uprisings and stop those whom were trying to illegally leave the city to search for their prince.

Of course the General had kept everything in order, she was very ruthless and efficient. Yes, her General was a woman no one dared crossed, and the only other lone survivor of the Kaiser's family. She also liked her coffee black with lots of sugar. The general was also very concerned for her brother's life, some described her as a bro con, and she didn't look at any other person in a special way, despite Viktoriya's own feelings.

Still thinking about all this was pointless right now because her current mission was to try and find the Kaiser's son in some run down filthy Kingdom named Agrabah. Thankfully she had a magic scanner that would be able to detect the heir if she came within one mile of him. Still there was no guarantee he was in this shit-hole of a kingdom. He could be anywhere on the entire planet. The day the royal family made the decision to send him down to earth to protect him, his transport was attacked by former exiles of the Empire looking to use him as a hostage to get them back into the grand city. Or at least that was the cover story.

Being exiled was the worst fate of anyone in the Empire. You were stripped of your magic, and left with nothing but the clothes on your back down bellow. If you had been truly harmful to the empire, you wouldn't even be allowed to keep your memories. Victoriya shuddered the thought of being stuck in a place such as the one she now was in, the idea of losing who she was, even worse.

Luckily, Viktoriya was a well equipped mage of an air Mage Battalion. Right now she was using an active camouflage spell to walk the streets unmolested. The people of this kingdom were so primitive. She was wearing a flak jacket which provided protection from weapons and magic bullets to a certain degree.

Finally their was the Dragon stave she carried which could fire magic bullets and artillery spells with. She was pretty proficient in the use of barrier spells for further protection beyond that. It wasn't as if she would be forced to dig trenches while under artillery assault, again...

A ping sounded on her scanner. Without much thought, Viktoriya channeled her mana into her computational jewel taking flight. Victoriya flew at break neck speed through the air towards its source.

Their she found a young man, currently at knife point by this countries police forces. He was out cold, and he was without a doubt the Empire's prince!

But she did not have authority to engage this countries forces. Their also appeared to be a mage present with a serpent staff. She had to report this, but her magic communicator did not have the necessary range. She would have to fly for several miles and high into the atmosphere to use it. 'A serpent staff, those haven't been around for over a decade. Damn cultist!'

By the time she reported the prince would be in a unknown location, captured, and presumably in high danger. Still she soared away, swearing under her breathe as she did so. Of course it would be her all by herself to find the prince...

*Chapter One: The Wish*

Aladdin had been captured again by Jafar. The man took great pleasure in taking away the golden lamp he possessed. And here Aladdin thought he might be able to live well for a change, now he was probably going to die or rot away in some dungeon like he was before. His luck had been good, escaping the death trap of a cave that he had been left in to die. 'Still don't know how I got out of there. Why did he want the stupid lamp anyways?'

But reality was cruel, and Jafar had acted. He most really have wanted that lamp, because Jafar had waited in his home. Tried as he might, Aladdin failed to escape and was captured yet again after a small chase. Not they he had much of a chance escaping anyways.

*Chapter One: The Wish*

The bars of the cell doors closed as Jafar greedily took his lamp with him to another room far from the dungeon. It was in this room Jafar kept all his studies of magic, his scrolls, potions, and even artifacts.

"That Sultan is about to be replaced by the all powerful Jafar!" Jafar laughed manically, even his parrot Iago joined in.

Jafar grabbed his new shiny golden lamp from his specially designed pedestal. "Time to make that wish." He spoke as he rubbed the lamp.

*Chapter One: The Wish*

"This is Lieutenant Victoriya of the 203rd Air Mage Battalion to Empire Outpost 2649, I request urgent relay of message to Empire headquarters." Victoriya spoke.

"This is Outpost 2649, please state identification code."

"Long live the Kaiser, and may magic bless us always. Six, Eight, Three, Four."

"Relaying message Lieutenant. Proceed."

"This is General Tanya Von Degeuchaff, please state your reason for using this line."

"I've found the Kaiser's heir, your brother."

"I want details immediately, right now Lieutenant!"

"Yes General, as of this moment, your brother is being held prisoner by the country of Agrabah. Dangers to his person and reasons for his being held unknown. Orders?"

"Go monitor the situation at once. You are authorized to do anything you have to, in order to secure his safety. Now go Lieutenant, backup is on the way."

"Yes mam!" Viktoriya's flight spell channeled into her flight gear, allowing her to accelerate very quickly towards Agrabah.

"Of my little brother I hope your okay." Thought the sadistic looking blonde haired General. Her deranged smile scared the rest of the personnel in her office.

Chapter One: The Wish

Standing up Tanya began to bark orders. "Prepare Landing ships! Send messages to recall all search parties! Tell the 1st to 25th infantry, armor, and air divisions to prepare to embark! Also get my personal air carrier ready to depart as well, oh and hell. Someone needs to get me a damn coffee right now, or heads will roll!" She paused.

"Is that understood!" She barked one last time.

"Yes Mam!" All the self defense force personnel responded in unison.

The room broke out into sheer chaos. Many of the mages in the room started to operate magical machines to send out the orders to all their field operatives. It was a mess but quite efficient. It was indeed, organized chaos. Below the command center, the airfield of the Empire could be seen. Troops geared out were moving across its flat top, Magic Tanks were already rolling along on their treads, and Magic Artillery pieces could be seen being loaded into transports via crane.

Tanya Von Degeurchaff, head of the Empire's self defense force sipped her coffee. 'Don't worry little brother.' Tanya thought.

'Nothing, not even hell on earth, can stop me from saving you.' She giggled, yet again creeping out all her staff.

'Even if that devil X, were to try and stop me, I'd still save you brother! Even from hell itself' She giggled as she began to head to her Carrier. A massive Kilometer long behemoth that carried many more smaller Empire landing ships. A deterrent built in case there was ever a war to be fought by the Empire. Thankfully the Empire was a peaceful nation, as long as you didn't harm their King.
