Mara Spelt, Victor
I woke up in my bed. Did I have school today? I tried to roll out but a barrier stopped me. My bed didn't have guardrails. And my room didn't smell like… a hospital.
It came back to me. The games. I won. How did I do that? I was just some girl.
Poppy-Rose came in the door, her dark hair shining in the fluorescent light.
"Wow, you look like you've been through a lot."
I was confused. "Didn't the Capitol fix me up?"
"Yeah, but I can see it. In your eyes. That pain doesn't just leave. We all did things to survive. I don't regret it but I'm not proud of it." Speaking of looks, wanna check your new one?"
I was scared. We had all seen that the victors looked different after the games. Like Capitolites. I was also excited. Maybe they made me cool.
The mirror reflected my eyes. Still blue, but now they glowed. Mysterious, ominous, perfect for fortune telling. My hair was the same, curly and short, but there were hints of violet in the dark curls. My bronze skin was smooth as a baby, and I was glad they didn't take my freckles. They did add some in strategic places. I could make out constellations in my face. I stood up, and noticed no change in my height. Good. I liked being short. Luckily they didn't touch Holy Moly. I was proud of my mole, and there would've been a problem if anything happened.
"I look amazing!"
Poppy-Rose smiled. It seemed sad though. Her eyes weren't smiling.
Mara Spelt, Victor
I was about to get my crown. President Meré smiled at me as she walked up to me. I could see the crown. It was beautiful. Silver metal was topped with pink shards of crystal. They looked shattered. I knew what it was. If Maeve was alive, she would too. It was my crystal ball from the arena. The other main clue was the rubies sparkling around the crown. Blood red rubies.
MARA GETS A HAPPY ENDING!
So, she's not super traumatized, but she still has some problems. And we get a peek at the first confirmed victor in my reboot. Poppy-Rose Blumenthal. Next chapter is the initiation I'm stealing from LCS and then the epilogue. I will be doing another story but I'm gonna focus on Organized Chaos. Thanks for sticking with me for three years lol.
