Fate/Grand Digital Order

Prologue: Where it all begins!

Disclaimer: I do not Digimon or Fate/Grand Order.

Life had a strange way of making things interesting for people. Some people wake up to smash their alarm clocks for playing an obnoxious yet catchy pop song at six in the morning. Others wake up to find a beautiful woman in their arms, sleeping blissfully besides them only for that person to realize that they have no memory of how said beauty got into their bed the previous night. And some are just unlucky enough to wake up to find someone looking down upon them from the side of their bed, having stood there and watched you snore for only God knows how long.

Ritsuka Fujimaru was one of those people most of the time. At least ever since he decided to donate blood at the Shibuya Train station after his mother gave him the flier for Chaldea before the end of the school year. That seemingly unimportant act would soon spiral into a series of events where the people running the stall would soon follow him home. This then resulted in them having a talk with his parents that resulted in Ritsuka being shipped off the following day to the Chaldea facility with the promise of paying for his entire college tuition in exchange for working one whole summer there.

That was nearly two years ago, and since then Ritsuka has found himself working with such a large assortment of strange but incredible people. And to Ritsuka's credit, he's gotten used to the craziness that his new friends and colleagues have brought into his life. Did he forget to mention that almost all of them are basically super powered magical ghost copies of the most famous heroes, villains, and significant figures from across all of human history?

And the fact that he was technically the sole master of all those so called Servants was easily the most normal thing about Ritsuka's daily life in Chaldea since his arrival at the facility. It didn't help that some of Ritsuka's Servants had actually fallen madly in love with him and that a select few of them decided that the best way to show their love towards their master was to invade his personal space every chance they got.

So with all of that in mind, when Ritsuka found himself waking up to a familiar white ceiling without feeling someone lying next to him under the covers or watching him from the side of his bed, he would have almost felt relieved except for the fact that this usually meant that something has already gone wrong today.

"I'm still in Chaldea right?" Ritsuka asked aloud to himself as he looked around his room, his home away from home so to speak. Pulling the covers away, Ritsuka found himself already dressed in his standard Chaldea Uniform to his surprise. "Ok that's odd but not completely unusual..." He muttered to himself as he got out of bed, trying to get a sense of his surroundings.

Ritsuka was about to walk to the door when suddenly the entire room began to shake violently, nearly knocking the young Japanese man off of his feet.

"Ok what is it this time?!" Ritsuka muttered angrily under his breath as he managed to stop himself from hitting the floor, multiple scenarios going through his mind as he thought about the possible causes for what could've caused Chaldea to shake so violently. "I swear to god if Nobu made another bomb from a grail again..." The Last Master of Chaldea muttered to himself as he managed to quickly reach the door before another quake could knock him off his feet. Ritsuka quickly opened the sliding door to his room with his key card, fully prepared to sprint across the hallways to reach the source of the mysterious quakes that were rocking Chaldea only for that train of thought to come to a screeching halt at what he saw beyond the doorway.

"No way..." Ritsuka muttered to himself as he stared in shock at the massive barren wasteland standing outside of his room. "This can't be right..." Ritsuka muttered aloud to himself as he stepped out of the doorway, the young man quickly surveying the surrounding area for any sign of where the rest of Chaldea was.

"Am I having another dream?" Ritsuka wondered aloud to himself as he surveyed the surrounding landscape, noticing that a distinct lack of the constant blizzards or the frigid mountain ranges that he knew Chaldea was supposed to be located in. Even looking up at the sky, Ritsuka could only see dark clouds blocking out the sun from view in every direction. Turning back around to check his room for any details he might've missed during his earlier inspection, Ritsuka was only slightly surprised to see that the doorway to his room had vanished entirely leaving Ritsuka alone in a total wasteland.

"Oh yeah, I'm definitely dreaming now." Ritsuka stated aloud to himself, barely surprised by the surreal events transpiring around him. "Now the real question is where am I? Or when am I?" Ritsuka wondered as he began to walk in a random direction, trying to find any familiar landmarks he could use to determine his location or what era of history he was currently trapped in.

"Maybe I'm back at Onigashima? No, no I would've recognized this place or run into some leftover onis by now..." Ritsuka pondered aloud to himself, remembering his New Year adventure with Musashi on that long forgotten isle. That left very few options on when and where the young man could possibly be now that Ritsuka thought about it clearly. Not a lot of the singularities he's visited were lifeless like this one nor were they as barren as there were usually some demonic beasts lurking about or some other form of life just struggling to survive.

"I wonder who brought me here... Maybe it's another traveling Heroic Spirit like Arthur? Or maybe I'm in the dreams of one of my servants like Altera again..." Ritsuka pondered aloud to himself, trying to narrow down his options as he continued to wander the wasteland. However, his peaceful walk would not last forever as soon enough a bright beam of light filled the skies above Ritsuka, causing the young man to look up in shock as the arrow shaped beam struck something far above him. What soon followed was an utterly massive explosion that filled the skies and even shook the earth beneath his feet, forcing Ritsuka to cover his eyes with his arms lest he be blinded by the light.

"That... that explosion was like a blast from Rhongomyniad!" Ritsuka thought to himself in alarm as he dared to look up into the skies to see what was hit by that blast earlier. Faster than Ritsuka could hope to react, something did come falling down from the sky and unfortunately it came crashing down near him just mere meters away, sending the young man flying back several feet into air and crashing into the dirt.

"Ow ow ow... Note to self, learn how to duck and roll better from Leonidas later..." Ritsuka muttered to himself as he pulled himself off the ground, moving to dust himself off only to find that his mystic code was completely spotless. "Ok that's definitely weird but it's something to worry about later..." Ritsuka stated in surprise before turning his attention back to what sent him flying like a tumble weed earlier.

"Jesus, what did that Rhongomyniad beam hit up there? A giant meteorite or something?" Ritsuka stated aloud to himself as he walked up to the new massive crater before him, the young master stopping at the very edge of the hole to inspect what had just landed.

"Well it's definitely as big as one of those craters the Lion King made back in Camelot..." The young master stated aloud as he observed the crash site, wondering what could've made such a massive hole in the ground after being hit by a Rhongomyniad-tier blast. Ritsuka soon got his answer as he heard sudden movement coming from the center of the crater, causing the young man to move back and take a defensive position as the dust began to settle.

"What the hell..." Ritsuka muttered to himself in shock as he unconsciously took a step back at the sight of the thing that was standing in the crater before him. The creature was utterly indescribable in appearance as it gave off an utterly terrifying aura of death and malice unlike anything Ritsuka had ever encountered up to this point with the clear exceptions of Goetia and Tiamat.

The creature stood several feet taller than Goetia's true form and more closely resembled an arch demon compared to the Demon God King but that was where any possible similarities between the two beings ended. This creature had four demonic wings sprouting from its back and was mostly covered in slimy green crustaceous armor with dark reddish purple tentacles spreading across its body in lieu of actual muscle tissue, hair, or even actual claws as Ritsuka watched the tentacles in its arms form rudimentary hands for the creature to push itself off the ground.

Ritsuka was about to take another step back when the creature suddenly turned its attention towards him. The creature's face had no visible eyes, only a tough looking shell covering its head, but Ritsuka could feel its gaze upon him as it opened its mouth to reveal several dagger-like teeth lining its jaws.

"Lightning Joust!"

Before the creature could even move an inch towards him, it was struck in the face by a blast of white energy from the sky, creating a powerful explosion that sent Ritsuka flying back in shock. After landing rather roughly on his back, Ritsuka managed to pull himself off the dirt in time to see his savior land down on the ground in front of him.

"That's... That's not Lancer Artoria..." Ritsuka said dumbly, the young man finding he stunned speechless by the large figure that was clearly not the Holy Lance wielding King of Knights that he's come to know personally. Instead, the figure before Ritsuka was a ten foot tall knight encased entirely in peerless white armor that had red parts on its pauldrons, poleyns, and the ends of its vambraces and the ankle plate of its sabatons as well as some gold trimming. The mysterious knight wore a huge, flowing, red cape and a helmet with the face of a red dragon serving as its crest. In the knight's right hand was a large lance and in its left hand was a large circular shield. Ritsuka was about to ask who the knight was when a loud roar suddenly blew away the dust cloud covering the now larger crater, revealing the monster to be still alive only with cracks and pieces of its armor falling off its chest and the left side of its face.

"Arcadiamon!" The Crimson Knight proclaimed loudly to the monstrous beast standing across from him, revealing the creature's name to Ritsuka who could only watch in stunned silence as the scene played out in front of him. "Your bloody rampage across our world has gone on for far too long! Your wretched life ends today, monster!" The knight shouted with an ice cold fury in his voice as he pointed his lance at the creature, his yellow eyes were narrowed into slits as both his lance and shield began to glow with power.

In response to the knight's threat, the monster, Arcadiamon, Ritsuka noted, could only laugh at the Crimson Knight's proclamation.

"Such brave words Royal Knight. But many before you have made such claims and even more have died screaming as I devoured them. What makes you any different from the hundreds of thousands of weaklings I've slaughtered over the past year?" Arcadiamon asked darkly in a deep voice that filled Ritsuka with dread, the monster's mocking tone belying the murderous intent behind its every word. "After what I did to your fellow knights, I believed you were too scared to face me. Or are you facing me now in an attempt to redeem yourself? After all, you did leave her to die-"

Whatever Arcadiamon was going to say next would be left unknown as the Crimson Knight wordlessly fired another energy shot from his lance straight at Arcadiamon's chest, interrupting the creature as a giant explosion engulfed its entire body and the surrounding area. Meanwhile, Ritsuka could barely keep himself standing on his own two feet as the blast caused tremors to grab hold of the entire wasteland while massive fissures began to break the entire area apart.

"Holy shit! How strong is this guy?!" Ritsuka wondered aloud to himself, noting to himself that the knight's last attack had at least enough power behind it to level a city. The young man could only stare in awe at the crimson knight standing firmly atop the shaking earth a good distance away from the last master, not even appearing fazed by the quakes happening around him. Before Ritsuka could even take his eyes off the knight, an unharmed Arcadiamon suddenly appeared out of thin air behind the mysterious knight with the tentacles of its right hand twisted into a long and massive spear.

"Look out! He's right behind you!" Ritsuka screamed in reflex to Arcadiamon's sudden appearance, his frantic warning going seemingly unheard as Arcadiamon thrusted its spear arm towards the unsuspecting knight's head.

"Exile Spear!" Arcadiamon shouted as it stabbed its spear arm towards the knight's unguarded head only for its spear to clash against the knight's round shield at the last second, creating a massive shockwave that cratered the ground beneath them. "What?!" Arcadiamon could only exclaim in sheer shock at its attack being deflected only to find itself staring point blank into the glowing face of the Crimson Knight's round shield.

"Shield of the Just." The Crimson Knight stated firmly at barely above a whisper. He soon fired a crimson energy beam from his shield straight into Arcadiamon's shocked face. Arcadiamon could only scream as it struggled to halt the energy beam with its spear arm only to find itself being pushed back by the sheer power behind the attack.

Ritsuka could only watch in dumbfounded silence as the energy beam pushed the demonic monster far across the wasteland, its feet struggling to find purchase on the rapidly crumbling earth. Arcadiamon's desperate attempts to withhold its own imminent destruction soon became fruitless as the mysterious knight poured more even power into his attack, causing the energy beam to suddenly grow in size and engulf Arcadiamon entirely. This resulted in a massive explosion that could be seen for miles around, causing sand and dust to be blown across the wasteland.

Covering himself with his arms to block the sudden dust storm from getting into his eyes, Ritsuka could barely keep himself standing on his own two feet while he struggled to not be blown away by the blast. The Crimson Knight himself, however, stood unfazed by the roaring gales blowing past him while his red cape fluttered majestically in the wind. The knight's yellow eyes, however, were focused entirely on where Arcadiamon had once been.

"Well, this has certainly been an interesting dream so far..." Ritsuka stated calmly as winds began to calm down, casually dusting himself off while watching the unknown knight stand tall amongst the ruined landscape. "But something tells me that this isn't over just yet..." He muttered to himself in slight worry at the crimson knight's posture, having personally experienced enough battles to know when someone was still on guard. Ritsuka's worries were swiftly justified as the dust soon settled to reveal a heavily damaged Arcadiamon standing motionlessly in the middle of the giant blast crater.

Arcadiamon's right arm was completely gone now, leaving just a bloody stump in its place. Its wings were gone as well, just leaving stumps that leaked purple blood onto the scorched earth around it. Arcadiamon's armored body was completely covered in cracks with purple blood pouring down over its body while bits of its armor broke off only to disintegrate into blue packets of something that Ritsuka couldn't make out at this distance. By all appearances, it appeared that Arcadiamon was dead to anyone who was looking at it.

"If that things dead, then why do I still feel on edge..." Ritsuka thought to himself in contemplation as he stared at Arcadiamon's prone form, his heart still racing as he stared at the beast. After a few seconds, the young man chanced a look at the mysterious knight standing away several feet away from him, the stranger having not moved an inch away from his spot as he stared directly down at the motionless monster in front of him.

Not a second later, the crimson knight wordlessly raised his lance upwards as energy began to build up in the weapon's pointed tip, the knights eyes were completely focused on Arcadiamon's prone form. Realizing what the knight was about to do, Ritsuka was about to start running in the opposite direction to escape the incoming blast when a sudden chill went down his spine.

Acting on finely honed instinct, Ritsuka immediately turned his attention back onto Arcadiamon and that's when he saw it move.It was the smallest possible movement that any creature could possibly make, one so insignificant that a normal person would never have even noticed it. Ritsuka, however, could never call himself a normal person after spending nearly two years of giving commands to superhuman beings and watching them fight against other similarly powerful beings in battles across history. So when he saw Arcadiamon's body begin to bend back slightly, Ritsuka immediately realized something was going to happen and swiftly turned his attention towards the knight.

"Arcadiamon's still alive!" Ritsuka screamed in warning towards the crimson knight just as he finished charging his attack. Miraculously, the mysterious knight seemingly heard the young man's warning as he immediately fired multiple energy blasts at Arcadiamon, the creature unable to dodge the incoming barrage of attacks.

Then it happened...

"DOT MATRIX."

In an instant, the crimson knight's energy attacks were instantly wiped out of existence along with the earth in front of Arcadiamon, creating a new massive chasm that stretched nearly a mile long into the horizon. Ritsuka could only gaze wordlessly at the sudden devastation before him, his mind still processing the event that had transpired.

"What the hell was that..?" Ritsuka thought as he broke into a cold sweat, his heart was racing at just how fast a good chunk of the surrounding area was suddenly gouged out of existence. He didn't even know if that knight had escaped the attack or if he was even alive anymore!

"I didn't even see what Arcadiamon did! Was the attack it used invisible in nature or was it just too fast for normal eyes to follow...?" Ritsukapondered as he began to analyze the scene before him, drawing upon his years of experience fighting against foes with seeming unstoppable techniques. He then noticed something strange about the chasm itself as what appeared to be ones and zeroes were floating out of the crevasse before swiftly disappearing from sight. Before he could even postulate about why he was even seeing ones and zeroes floating out of the chasm, a large shadow was casted over Ritsuka, forcing the young man to look up and pale at the sight of what was before him.

Arcadiamon, now fully healed with its right arm restored, stood imposingly before the last master of Chaldea as it stared down directly into Ritsuka's eyes, its face unreadable as Ritsuka stared back unflinchingly at the demonic creature.

"Exile Spear."

Before Ritsuka could even hope to react, Arcadiamon had already transformed its arm into a long spear and stabbed straight through the young man's chest before it even uttered the name of its technique. Ritsuka could only look down slowly in horror at the massive spear that was piercing through his chest with ease, like he wasn't even there...

"Wait, what?" Ritsuka muttered to himself in surprise when he realized that he wasn't feeling the agonizing pain that came with being impaled as he unconsciously lifted one of his hands up to grab onto the demonic spear only for his hand to phase through it harmlessly.

"Ok, that's new!" Ritsuka muttered in complete disbelief at his situation while Arcadiamon made a confused noise at why the unknown creature before it wasn't even dying from being impaled. Retracting its spear from Ritsuka's chest, Arcadiamon then stabbed swiftly through Ritsuka's body with multiple tentacles from its arms several times only for all of its attacks to pass harmlessly through the human. Ritsuka could only blink in shock at his sudden inability to be harmed only to notice that his body was starting to glitch from contact with Arcadiamon's tentacles despite not physically feeling them.

"What in the Dark Area are you?" Arcadiamon asked with a bewildered tone as it retracted its tentacles from Ritsuka's glitching form, the human's body restabilizing after the demonic creature ceased trying to inflict any kind of physical harm upon him.

"Shield of the Just!"

Before Arcadiamon could do anything else to the young man, the demonic creature was instantly struck in the side by a crimson beam of energy that sent it soaring across the war torn landscape before creating a massive explosion that further devastated the land in the process. Ritsuka could only gape in surprise at the sudden attack just as the crimson knight from earlier landed before the shocked human, looking almost unharmed by Arcadiamon's earlier attack except that his lance was now missing its sharp tip while ones and zeroes were floating off the jagged ends of the broken weapon.

"You're alive!" Ritsuka stated with joy as he approached his savior, the young man barely containing his relief at seeing the mysterious knight standing before him. The knight in question, however, had a confused look in his yellow eyes at the sight of the young human male approaching him.

"...so are you it seems." The knight replied with a curious tone of voice as he dispelled his lance into blue particles, moving an armored gauntlet to pat Ritsuka on his left shoulder only for the knight's hand to phase through his body. "How peculiar..." The crimson knight muttered under his breath as he gently waved his hand through Ritsuka's glitching shoulder, keenly observing how the young man's body reacted to his presence.

"Ok...um, so I think we're off to a good start..." Ritsuka mumbled in slight relief that the imposing figure before him wasn't an enemy. "I think I should introduce myself since we just met. My name's Ritsuka Fujimaru! What's your name Sir...?" Ritsuka stated calmly as the knight stopped investigating the young man's glitching body and turned his eyes towards the young man's face.

"Right then. I am *******mon, a member of the Royal Knights." The knight introduced himself, but Ritsuka could only hear static when the knight had said his name.

"Um... I'm sorry but could you repeat that? I must've not heard it the first time." Ritsuka stated sheepishly as he rubbed the back of his head only to stop when he noticed his hand had become transparent while his entire body was now starting to glitch uncontrollably.

Before he could even comment on what was happening to his body, Ritsuka was silenced when a monstrous roar echoed across the destroyed landscape while a massive surge of light beamed across the horizon. Before the young man could be blown by the sudden gale coming from the light's source, the crimson knight quickly put himself in front of Ritsuka to protect him from the coming storm.

"I apologize but it appears that I must ask you to leave this desolate wasteland and get as far away from here as you possibly can. Arcadiamon is digivolving to his Ultra form to unleash his true power upon this world and I cannot guarantee your safety if you stay." The crimson knight stated grimly as he protected Ritsuka with his shield, glaring at the ominous light in preparation for the incoming apocalypse. Ritsuka could only stare in shock at the knight's grim words about the danger of the situation, his body becoming more glitchy and transparent with every passing second.

"Wait if Arcadiamon is unleashing his true power right now then forget about me and go stop him before it's too late! I can take care of myself!" Ritsuka shouted over the howling winds rushing past him as he tried to grab onto the knight to no avail, his lower arms having become completely transparent by this point. The knight looked down at Ritsuka and swiftly noted the young man's deteriorating condition.

"It appears that your words ring true more than you think, Ritsuka Fujimaru." The knight stated calmly as he watched the lower half of Ritsuka's legs completely disappear. "It appears the power that's keeping you here in this world has begun to wane. Would I be correct to presume that your current body is not your real one?" The knight asked as the winds started to die down.

"I mean yeah. I have this tendency for my soul to wander while I'm sleeping. It's happen to me so many times already that I've lost count." Ritsuka admitted out loud to the knight's mild surprise. "But every time that this has happened I'm usually able to interact with the dream world, not glitch out like a bug in a video game! Why am I fading out like a ghost here?" Ritsuka complained as his body's deterioration had reached his stomach, leaving him floating without any visible arms or legs.

"I do not have all the answers that you seek but I can assure you of this, Ritsuka Fujimaru. This isn't a world of dreams but a very real world that exists in its own right amongst an uncountable number of worlds scattered throughout all of existence. And based on what you've told me, it appears that your soul has wandered into my world by accident and is now trying to reconnect with your real body, wherever it might be." The knight explained as the bright lights coming from Arcadiamon's direction had begun to fade. "It appears we'll have to continue this talk of ours another time..." The knight said with a tone of finality as he looked up into the darkened sky with narrowed eyes. Ritsuka quickly turned what remained of his body around and looked up into the sky only find himself staring in shock.

Flying high in the sky under a swirling vortex of dark clouds was Arcadiamon but not as Ritsuka once knew it. The creature no longer resembled an arch demon but could only be described now as an utterly alien jellyfish monster that made its previous form look adorable by comparison. Arcadiamon now towered over the land like the absolute behemoth it was, reaching a size where it was now almost comparable in height to Tiamat in her Titan form. The most frightening aspect of Arcadiamon now, however, was the utterly oppressive aura it gave off as it floated in the sky, feeling less like a living creature and more like some alien primordial god that could end the world in an instant.

"Where on earth did this monster come from?" Ritsuka pondered as he gazed at Arcadiamon's colossal new form, he could barely keep himself from panicking just at the sight of the monster. "This isn't the time to panic Ritsuka! Right now you need to think of a way to help this knight stop that thing from going on a rampage!" He mentally chastised himself at letting Arcadiamon unsettle him like this, as the young man knew from personal experience that there was no point in panicking now that he was facing a monstrous new threat.

"You are very courageous to put on a brave face like that in the presence of that monster, but I feel you should worry more about yourself than worry about me." The knight stated calmly as he walked past Ritsuka, reminding the last master of Chaldea of his current predicament. Ritsuka could only look down to see that only the upper half of his body still remained in this world but time was swiftly running out for him.

"Why shouldn't I worry about you? I've already seen what that monster is capable of in a weaker form, so there's no telling what thing can do now in a stronger one! Let me at least try to help in some way!" Ritsuka argued back frantically, his chest already fading away to leave only his head remaining.

"You are certainly a strange one, Ritsuka Fujimaru." The knight chuckled as he took one last look at the rapidly vanishing human before turning back to face Arcadiamon's rapidly approaching form. "Farewell, Ritsuka Fujimaru. Let us hopefully meet each other again under far better circumstances." The crimson knight stated with an air of finality before leaping off the earth to soar towards Arcadiamon's massive form, leaving Ritsuka behind to watch in silence as the crimson knight broke the sound barrier in his approach to the gigantic monster.

Even as his mouth faded away to leave only the top part of his head remaining in this world, Ritsuka never took his eyes off the strange knight's form as he disappeared over the horizon. As soon as he lost track of the knight, something suddenly collided against Arcadiamon's massive form in the sky, a giant shockwave erupting from the point of impact as the monster was actually pushed back through the air. Ritsuka continued to watch in awe as soon after thousands of energy blasts began to swiftly rain down upon Arcadiamon's body like artillery fire, creating a series of explosions that lit up the monster's massive frame like a Christmas tree in the middle of December. Arcadiamon didn't take this assault lying down as thousands of feeler-like tentacles shot out from underneath the monster's shell after its attacker, filling the sky around the monster with an uncountable number of spear-like tentacles.

The last thing Ritsuka saw before he faded away from this world was a bright glowing sphere flying across Arcadiamon's massive body as a bright light soon consumed everything in sight…

Fate….Digital Monster….Fate….Digital Monster….Fate….Digital Monster….

In his room in Chaldea, Ritsuka's eyes sprung open in panic as he forced himself up on his bed, panting heavily with sweat pouring down his face as his hands quickly roamed over his body to check to see if he still had all of his body parts. Once he was sure he hadn't lost anything, Ritsuka let out a sigh of relief as he flopped back down onto his bed while taking slow deep breathes to relax himself enough to properly gauge his surroundings.

"I'm back at Chaldea…" Ritsuka stated calmly as he looked around his dimly lit and sparsely furnished room, trying to see if anything was out of order or out of place. Once he finished giving his room a second look over, Ritsuka pulled his covers off of himself and found that he was still wearing his usual nightwear which consisted of a skin tight A-shirt made out of a meshed fabric and a somewhat thin pair of shorts.

"Well, at least I know I'm not dreaming anymore." Ritsuka muttered to himself in relief, he had long since given up on trying to find out why he was always wearing his Chaldea uniform or one of his other mystic codes whenever he was pulled off into some dream world even when he was still in Chaldea. Placing a hand under his A-shirt to feel around his chest, Ritsuka felt himself unconsciously let out another sigh of relief when he found that his necklace was still on his person. Pulling his corded necklace out from under his A-shirt, Ritsuka watched as the golden ring he had tied onto it dangle in the air, its luster still bright even in such a dimly lit setting.

"That wasn't just a dream now was it?" Ritsuka stated as he gazed at the golden ring dangling in front of him. "I can remember it all so clearly despite how strange it was compared to my usual nightly episodes." He continued to say to no one in particular as he turned his attention to the screen built into the wall near his bed, the digital clock being displayed on it showing that it was barely 2 A.M. in whatever part of the world Chaldea was located in. "I probably shouldn't bother Mash about this until she's woken up and has had a full breakfast." Ritsuka stated aloud in thought, he knew Mash's sleep schedule by heart at this point and that she would drop anything she was doing to help him out if he asked for it.

Slipping his necklace back under his sleeping shirt, Ritsuka got out of his bed and walked over to his personal desk as he turned on the lamplight. Pulling out a few blank sheets of paper and a set of drawing pencils from one of the built in cupboards, the young man set the papers out on top of the desk as he pulled out a finely sharpened pencil.

"Even if Mash or Da Vinci doesn't believe me about this dream, I at least need to have some physical proof that it happened so I can never forget what happened." Ritsuka declared to himself as he began to sketch a portrait of the Crimson Knight that he met and one of that monster, Arcadiamon, in both of its forms from memory, hoping that he'll get to meet that strange but gallant knight again someday just like so many other heroes before him.

To be continued…

Welcome everyone to the prologue of Fate/Grand Digital Order, my second foray into writing a story on SpaceBattles after my last attempt at trying to gain a following there crashed and burned into utter obscurity. But enough about my failures, and here's a little back story about the creation of this story!

Ever since I got Passionlip and Meltryllis from their banner back when the C.C.C. event was first released in the North America servers of FGO in April of 2019. Since I was still just a fresh new player that had recently joined the game's community in late November of the previous year, I was too far behind to play the event as it was going on back then. After raising their bond levels and growing fond of their personalities, I learned about how Passionlip's and Melt's specific skills allowed to condense and/or absorb vast amounts of data respectively. And it got me thinking, "Isn't that kind of like a Digimon?". After nearly a year of inactivity from writing on Fanfiction, I suddenly developed a spark of inspiration to write a Digimon crossover and help me get out of my writing rut. And based on the prologue you all must've undoubtedly read by now, the rest was history…

Since Digimon Adventure, Digimon Adventure 02, and Digimon Tamers were a big part of my childhood growing up as a kid, I wanted to do a story that paid respect to those series in honor of all the wonderful memories those shows gave me back when I was a kid. Then came the next part, who would be the protagonist of such a story? And would you guess that I found the perfect protagonist for this story in the Last Master of Chaldea, Ritsuka Fujimaru or Gudao as all Fate fans like to call him.

It was a no brainer to me that Ritsuka would work well as one of the main protagonists in such a story due to the fact, that unlike other Fate series mainstays or fan favorites like Shirou, Ritsuka is genuinely an ordinary human being that has been thrust into extraordinary circumstances beyond his control just like the Digidestined and Tamers of the anime series. I would explain more but this is starting to get too long and one of my friends, Persona3User, has told me that I have a tendency to make arcs too long with how I write chapters. He's not wrong of course since a normal chapter with me exceeds a word count of 10K but you probably get the idea.

You all are all probably wondering since this is a Digimon cross over, does this mean Ritsuka that will gain a Digimon partner? And the answer is yes, Ritsuka and his fellow human protagonist's will each gain a Digimon partner. Who and what Digimon are going to be their partners, I'm going to keep a secret for now but feel free to theorize down below since this adventure is just starting!

Also I wouldn't mind receiving recommendations on what kind of Digivice will be used in this story since my overzealous mind kind of skipped over that part. I have a general idea but I'm definitely open to any suggestions on what type of Digivice should utilize for this story.

Anyways, that's it for the first chapter that I've shared on this site. I just wanted to establish the story here and its starting ground's before diving in neck deep into what kind of world I've created. I hope you all liked or enjoyed this chapter as an intro and that you will decide to favorite, follow and leave a review for me. That would be greatly appreciated and thank you all for your time!

See Ya! :D
