214Ok so yeah, I'm rewriting EMP, and I'm sorry. But I had no direction with the story and I honestly was kind of just annoyed when I had to write it. So I'm trying this instead, giving me a chance to update my writing a bit and make certain chapters better.
If you don't like that I'm sorry but it's what I want to do.
Anyway this is the new Elements and Man Power.

-Elements at his Fingertips, Kinda-
Izuku Midoriya was just an average, "normal" kid. With a relatively moderate superpower called a quirk. His quirk was a supposed fusion between his parents, the power to breath fire, and the power to telekinetically control small objects. But that was a bit of a stretch.
You see Izuku had power over the elements: fire, water, earth, wind, and lightning. Which at first sounded really cool, but in reality it was really weak. Izuku could barely charge his phone 2% or make half a glass of water, of course it had gotten better over the years, but it wasn't meant for fighting, for his dream. To be a hero.
Everyone told him his quirk was practical and that she should be grateful he didn't end up with a useless quirk. No one ever said he could be a hero and quite a lot of people stomped on that dream, but he wouldn't let that stop him!
Yeah, Kacchan was right, he'd didn't have a quirk as cool as his, but he'd make due with it. And while for the longest time everything seemed like it wouldn't change, one fateful day changed that.
-Third Year of Junior High-
"Got it Kacchan, we should totally partner up for that assignment, I'm sure the teacher won't have a problem with it." 14 year old Izuku Midoriya said into his phone before he hung up and threw on his school uniform. His third year of Junior High had just started this week and he was actually really excited, though it still seemed as easy as last year.
He went into the bathroom to comb his locks and as usual nothing changed, except he lost the hair comb but he'd find it later.
He rushed back into his room and made sure he had everything in his backpack, his laptop, his homework, and his hero notebooks, 'Check, check, and check' Izuku thought to himself. He zipped up the bag before going to the kitchen.
There he saw his mother, Inko Midoriya, the same slim woman as always, making breakfast for him. "Morning mom!" Izuku said as he made his way to the kitchen and pulled out bowls.
"Oh good morning Izuku, Katsuki-kun was coming over for breakfast, right?" She asked as she was handed the bowls. Izuku nodded as soon as the doorbell went off and he headed to open in.
There stood Izuku's best friend, Katsuki Bakugo. "Hey Kacchan." Izuku said with a smile as he let the other boy into his home.
"Sup nerd." The other boy said with a smirk. Now some might've said that Bakugo's words were malicious, but that was just the way he spoke damn it! "Got that science homework done? It was a pain in the ass for me."
Izuku nodded as the two went for the kitchen, "Yeah, at first I was stuck but eventually everything clicked and I got through it." he said as they arrived.
"Hey auntie Inko." Bakugo greeted the woman
"Hello Katsuki-kun." Inko greeted back. The green haired woman was glad that, while the boy inherited his mother's aggressiveness, could be calm and civilized when needed just like her. "I got breakfast ready for you both, I have to go so make sure you lock up when you both are down, ok Izuku?" Inko said as she prepared her purse and coat to head out, it wasn't cold but she liked being prepared for anything.
"Yeah I got it mom."
The older Midoriya left and both boys dug into their food, "Thanks for the food!" They both said before they ate.
The two left their bowls in the sink and locked the door as they left, heading for school taking their usual route. However as luck would have it-
"Woah, what's that!"
"Probably just some ametuer villain that got caught snatching a purse or something."
"Honestly, in midday, this guy's ballsy."
"Yeah sorry boss, train got delayed."
Were a couple of sentences the boy's heard as they watched on as a villain, who was taller than the surrounding building, roared on a train rail. Izuku gained stars in his eyes and a book in his hands, that Katsuki did not see him take out, as he began writing notes on how the villain could be taken down.
" !Hiseyesareabiggertargetnowsoitwouldbegoodtoaimforthemandtakethemoutandthentriphimandmakehimhithishead?AknockoutwouldbegoodbutI'mnotsureifmoreheadtraumawouldbeneede-"
"Stop there villain!" Izuku stopped his muttering and writing, 'Thank god' Katsuki thought, as he looked up and saw "Kamui Woods!" Izuku said with glee. "He may be new but he's already making a name for himself!"
A man nearby with a strangely shaped head smiled at the boy, but decided to say nothing.
"Robbery! Assault! Disruption of the peace! And illegal quirk usage! You are the incarnation of evil!" Katsuki snorted at the line that came out of the pro's mouth, 'He practice that in the mirror this morning?!'
Yet Izuku didn't seem to mind as he only focused on the action, he noticed and even recognized the movement Kamui was doing. 'Bring arm back, lock up, tense, push forward!' Izuku thought the movements and Kamui Woods did them at the exact same time, and then both started to chant the name of the move.
"Preemptive Binding: Lacquered!" The woods that made Kamui's body expand, "Chain" Taking on a tree shape and rushing the giant. "Priso-
"Canyon Cannon!" Both the fanboy and hero froze, Katsuki started laughing and the weirdly shaped head man stared dumbfounded.
There atop the, now, unconscious villain was another up and coming hero, "Mt. Lady." Izuku whispered in awe. Yeah she caused a LOT of collateral damage, but her quirk was what fascinated Izuku. He had no idea if the height she became was always the same or not, or if she could adjust her height. He had so many questions but no answers.
"Hey nerd! Stop geeking out, we're gonna be late!" He heard Katsuki scream before the blonde started dashing away. Izuku checked his phone and went wide-eyed. 'Crap! Notes will have to wait, memory please remember!'
-After School-
School was boring as usual, kids being dumb, teachers being dumb, Kacchan being arrogant, classes being boring and easy, it was the norm.
"Hey Deku, I'm gonna hit the arcade with some extras, wanna come?" Katsuki asked as the two exited the school. Izuku shook his head, "No, I actually have some work to do."
"Oh alright." He said, "Hey you're going to apply to U.A, right?" he added out of nowhere.
Izuku went stiff before he nodded, "Y-Yeah, even though a lot of people say I can't, I still want to try, you know?" Izuku said sadly.
Katsuki nodded, "Yeah, but you better fucking train for it. And don't get all depressed and shit if you don't pass. I'm pretty fucking sure they give Gen Ed students a second chance or some shit." He said as he walked past Izuku to head to the arcade.
"Ah, thanks Kacchan!" Izuku smiled as his friend made sure that Izuku did feel sad as he usual would when his hero dream was brought up.
"Don't mention it nerd."
Izuku had a good time on his walk, though because of the incidents that occurred throughout the day his usual route was tanked and now he had to take a different route. It wasn't much of a problem but still annoying.
He thought about what Katsuki had said. It was encouraging in the moment but now that he thought about it, it was like Katsuki was expecting him to fail. Yeah he didn't have a combat prone quirk but he could still do stuff, right?
He probably didn't mean it like that but self conscious issues were something that riddled the greanette. 'I smile to show that there is no reason to be afraid, WHY? BECAUSE I AM HERE!' He remembered the words of his idol on a news show.
The icon catchphrase was something that filled Izuku with joy? No, more like hope.
Izuku always lived by his example, the man was the incarnation of what a hero should be to him. "All Might." he whispered the name of the man he looked up to more than anyone else in the world.
He walked into a tunnel as he continued his thoughts, 'My quirk isn't meant for combat, I know that.. yet I still want to give it a try. Plus rescuing is what I want to do, but no matter what you'll always have to fight villains…'
"I can't give up now! Not yet!" Izuku declared as he was filled with more hope and determination. He would do his best! Even if he had to fight villains he would win! He would live up to All Might's ideals and be the best hero he could be, no matter anyone said. "I will be a hero!"
"tHen bE MINE!" Izuku heard behind him, he turned and saw a man of sludge. He quickly spun the rest of his body around and threw his arm forward.
Three pebbles flew in the direction of the man, 'Oh come on-'. The sludge chuckled before whipping around and trapped the young boy.
Izuku's vision started to haze over and he realized he couldn't breathe. He tried using his wind powers to help himself breath and it worked for a bit but then the villain clogged his throat. Making the ability useless. He tried zapping the villain but he didn't produce a lot of electricity and the man shrugged it off, 'If only I could produce more!'. He tried to burn the man but the man put out the flames with his sludge, which acted like water to the flames.
"OH mAn yOU hAve a PretTy CoOL QuiRK Kid, I'lL gLadLY tAke IT!" Izuku was shocked that some thought his quirk was cool but he didn't focus on that. Felt himself passing out-no wait he was dying! He was losing consciousness and he was never going to wake up if he went to sleep now.
He started using his water powers and it was actually working! He managed to move the sludge villain around so he tried manipulating the man's body to get him out of his throat, 'It's like water!, I can manipulate it!'. However the villain added more pressure and pushed through Izuku's powers causing Izuku to grimace and apologize to anyone and everyone that he had ever met in his life, 'I'm gonna die…' Was the boy's last thought before everything went dark.
However…
"HAVE NO FEAR, FOR I AM HERE!" Izuku heard those iconic words and his eyes shot open. The figure threw a punch that created enough air force to tear the sludge villain apart. Izuku's eyes sparkled in the heavenly light that radiated from the exit of the alley, allowing him to see the silhouette of "A-All Migh…"
Darkness surrounded Izuku for miles. 'I died…' he thought as he took in the void. It was all the same, no texture, just darkness for eternity.
Suddenly a light came into existence, it was warm and inviting and it seemed to call to Izuku. He went to grab it but he couldn't reach it.
'I'm too weak, my quirk isn't strong enough, I'm not strong enough…' He let his hand fall in front of him, losing the will to keep on trying. But then the light reached out for instead, enveloping Izuku in it's worth, the darkness still remained but there was light also. It was perfect balance and Izuku felt invigorated, empowered, stronger.
Suddenly he feels something hitting his cheek and he opens his eyes, "Hello young man, sorry that we lost you there!" Izuku's eyes widen in realization as he scoots back, "A-All MIGHT!" He screamed, he went to look for his notebook, he needed his notebook, he needed an autograph! He found his bag with his notebook and opened it to see "IT'S ALREADY SIGNED!"
He turns back towards the hero and bows, "Thank you All Might sir!"
"Don't mention it citizen! And thank you for your assistance, but I'm afraid I must leave." All Might tapped a bottle in his pocket, "I have to hand this guy over to the police after all!" The man exited the tunnels and stretched his legs, preparing for a massive jump.
'Wait, I don't want him to go yet! I have so many questions to ask him! I don't want to waste his time, but he seems like he isn't busy! What do I do!' Izuku contemplated in his head as the pro prepared to make his leave.
'Take a leap of faith, kid.' Izuku heard someone, a woman, say.
'A leap of faith?'
"Now please clear the way, I need to launch off!" All Might said, and with that he leaped into the air, soaring across the entire sky. Covering miles in mere seconds. He felt the usual wind in his hair as he soared. But, something seemed a little different. He felt a bit slower and a bit heavier, not by a lot but it was slightly noticeable? It was strange, he knew he was slower than he was in his prime, but heavier? His muscles have gotten a bit smaller over the years so why is he heavier? Then he noticed a certain broccoli haired boy on his left leg. "HEY WOAH KID! WHAT'RE YOU DOING? I LOVE MY FANS BUT THIS, THIS IS A LITTLE TOO MUCH, LET GO!"
"I can't do that, I'll die!" Izuku said with a very strange face filled with wind that was honestly really disgusting to look at as it exposed his teeth and showed a lot of his mouth.
"Oh right, just hide your face for me, you're freaking me out." Izuku did as he was asked and All Might because searching for a building to land on. He found a suitable one and tried to leave as soon as Izuku got off of his leg but the boy started another conversation. He didn't want to leave in the midst of that. He found it rude, so he stayed thinking he could stay in his hero form for a bit longer...he was wrong.
"I have a quirk that lets me use the elements, but compared to heroes like Endeavor and Wash, it's nothing. I've tried to make it stronger but my attempts haven't done anything, I'm less than average in terms of physical strength. I'd say any villain could beat me in a fight the way I am now. I've always wanted to be a hero bu-" Izuku was cut off as a certain giant was gone? He didn't feel any wind pressure so that was strange but there was a dust cloud and a skeleton? Ah no he's alive. ALIVE?!
The skeleton coughed up blood and Izuku didn't know what to say. Soon he did find the words though.
"What happened to All Might?! Who are you, an imposter?! But that was definitely All Might's super strength?! So that means you have to be All Mi-" he was cut off mid sentence with a karate chop to his head.
"Hey hey kid, don't fry your brain." the skeleton said with a very depressing frown. "My name is Toshinori Yagi, and I am the Number One Hero, the Symbol Of Peace: All Might." He said as he went to sit down, looking very winded, coughing into his hand.
Izuku could only stare dumbfounded, how was the number one hero who was the incarnation of muscles in actuality a man that was basically a skeleton! It didn't make sense. How was the towering seven foot three pro hero this, this small! "Well kid, ask what you wanted to, but in exchange you keep my secret, got it?"
Izuku nodded rapidly, it sounded like All Might but the man's face was smileless. It was unnerving. "Uh, y-yes sir!" Izuku said. "B-But first, All Might, why do you seem so tired...and look like that…. if you don't mind me asking". Izuku asked Skelemight.
The pro sighed, "You're a curious kid, aren't you?" Izuku nodded. "Very well then, you already know this much, just don't tell anyone, alright kid?" Izuku nodded again. Toshinori lifted his blank, now oversized, white shirt revealing a nasty scar that stretched throughout the entirety of the left side of his body. "I had a run in with a villain about 5 years ago, I took 'em out, but they devastated my respiratory system and took all my stomach".
Izuku combed through his years of hero knowledge but he came up blank, he couldn't think of anyone that could do this to All Might, "5 years ago….? Well you did have many very impressive fights 5 years ago, but there weren't any villains that I think would've been able to do this amount of damage to you…"
"You're right, there weren't, at least in the public eye. This fight, and villain, were kept from the public and left me hospitalized and has now cut down my hero time to only 3 hours, rest of the time I look like this...it also cut me off from my sidekick Sir Nighteye and my teacher, though you probably don't know his name, he's kind of old."
'All Might had a teacher?! Well actually that makes sense, everyone has a teacher, just like everyone has a dad, except me.' Izuku shook his head distracting himself from the thought "So that's why you and Nighteye separated, the media just thought that you two outgrew each other or had a disagreement of some kind." Izuku responded.
"Yeah, now you know the story kid, now let's not get side tracked again, what's your question?" Toshinori asked the green child.
Izuku froze because now he just felt like he was wasting the man's time and he obviously learned something that he wasn't supposed to. 'A leap of faith' Izuku gulped and gathered his courage, "C-Can someone without a strong quirk like yours, become a hero?"
"Well kid, no matter what happens you can't control the world, it's just not possible. So, you will have to fight villains eventually. If your quirk isn't even strong enough to put you past an average human being before quirks were a thing...then no I don't think you can…" Izuku did his best to hold back his tears but he could feel the dams threatening to break, the gates getting ready to flood. "However" this caught Izuku's attention. "You can always improve a quirk, no matter how tough it is, an emitter quirk can always be improved, though it is difficult, and that's what yours is, correct?. It'll take a lot of hard work but you can do it. But the way you are now, I can't see you becoming a hero…so young man you will have to work a lot harder, got that?!" All Might said forming a ghost of a smile with his lips. He felt like he was in his muscle form giving a herois speech again.
Izuku looked up at the Symbol of Peace, and couldn't help but let all his tears out. Everyone thought he couldn't, his quirk wasn't meant for it, he wasn't meant for it. But All Might was right, quirks could become stronger, 'Quirk Evolution' and Quirk Training were two major ways to make quirks stronger. He could, he was going to train hard and become a hero! "Yes sir!"
"Alright Young-?" All Might paused as he didn't know the kid's name.
"Midoriya, Izuku Midoriya, All Might sir!" Izuku responded still tears in his eyes.
"Alright Young Midoriya, train hard, and try to enter UA! You got that!? Now I've gotta go turn in that sludge villain, do you mind living a couple minutes after me? So nobody notices?" Toshinori asked while Izuku wiped the tears off of his face and nodded.
"Uh, of course All Might, I-I….thank you for today, I'll definitely become a hero!" Izuku said with determination but it was thrown off by the tears that were still on his face.
"No problem kid, now I'll see you." SmallMight answered back as he retreated from the rooftop.
And with that All Might, or Toshinori Yagi, was gone from the rooftop, but Izuku was empowered now more than ever to be a hero. And after 2 minutes he left also, now going to train to empower his quirk to become more powerful. 'I can research how Endeavor made his flames so strong and I can do some physical training too to get stron-' he was cut off from his monologue by the sound of screaming and burning fire coming from a nearby alley street.
Izuku didn't think that he'd see two villain encounters this big in one day, he went to go take notes, but he saw something that shook him to his core…
'K-Kacchan..?'
"cOMe oN kId, yOU TalKed aBouT wAnTing to Be A hEro, HeLp mE OuT!" Izuku heard from an all too familiar voice that currently had Izuku's best friend as a hostage.
'It's that sludge villain, but All Might captured him….no….t-this is my fault, I hitched a ride, it must've fallen off then….this...is all my fault, I'm the reason this is happening, Bakugo is gonna die because of me, useless, USELESS…'
"GET OFF ME YOU BASTARD!" Bakugou demanded creating explosions with his quirk causing fire to sprout everywhere around him, in the process blocking all the pros that were there at the time from saving him, Izuku watched helplessly in the crowd as his friend was being suffocated by this villain.
-All Might-
All Might sighed as he had hit his limit for the day, which was surprising since it was his day off. He went to go reach for the pocket where he put the bottle containing the sludge villain, but the pocket was empty His eyes widened in fear as he tapped his other pockets in his pants but he didn't find the bottle!
"Did you see that thing!"
"Yeah that sludge guy is huge!"
"That kid is really holding out…"
"Why aren't the heroes doing anything?"
'Sludge?' All Might was only shaken with fear as he stumbled towards a crowd of people and saw an all too familiar villain. He wanted to go out and save what appeared to be a middle school boy from the clutches of the villain, but the screaming pain in his one lung told him that he was done, that boy was going to have to wait, or going to have to die….
"Rahhhhhhh!"
All Might knew that high pitched voice. He just had a conversation with it minutes ago, he looked up to see the boy running to save his friend. He knew that the boy's quirk was weak so what was he gonna do? He then saw the boy hurl his backpack at the creature's eye, paralyzing the foe. 'T-That's genius, even without a 'correct' quirk like all the other heroes are waiting for, he didn't care and just went to save the boy anyways! He took advantage of a major weakness within seconds!''
"DEKU, WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE, YOU COULD DIE?!" The blonde screamed at the boy who was risking his life. "I COULDN'T WATCH YOU DIE KACCHAN! Izuku screamed back.
'A leap of faith' The words repeated in the boy's mind. 'I WON'T LET KACCHAN DIE!'
In a dark void darkness exploded with power, two substances, red and yellow respectively shone with power. The yellow overtook as Izuku's hand traveled into the sludge.A massive amount of lightning sprouted from Izuku, shocking both the villain and Bakugo. Though the villain took the brunt of the attack and ended up being paralyzed.
With the villain paralyzed Izuku pulled his friend's arm with all of his might and brought him out of the sludge with the villain's grip now loosened.
"BAKUGO!"
'Wait what….'
"NOW, EXPLODE HIS ASS!" Izuku screamed at his friend, borrowing some of his language, and after the shock of being called Bakugo by Deku, and the boy swearing, he did as he was told and exploded the villain into next week. It was strong, easily the strongest explosion the boy had ever made, causing a lot of pain in Bakugo's arms and shoulders to where they slumped to his sides afterwards, however it didn't take out the villain. 'How's he still standing' They both thought in unison.
Toshinori looked on in horror, they were going to die! And no one was going to do anything. He was pathetic, he was afraid of a time limit when there were lives on the line, 'SCREW THAT!'
Both boys froze as they were both tired after the feats of strength that they displayed. The villain rushed to capture both boys, if that was even possible, they didn't know. They just knew that they didn't want to die, not yet, but to them both that seemed like the final outcome. They both braced for the pain to hit them, for the feeling of their throats to be clogged, or an impact coming to their heads, yet it never came.
"YOU BOTH ARE SAFE." Both of their eyes shot open and in front of them was the Symbol of Peace, "All Might" They both said in unison, "WHY? BECAUSE I AM HERE!" He exclaimed as he blocked a tendril from the slime villain, "NOW BE GONE EVILDOER."
The pro pulled his right arm back as he grabbed back Katsuki and Izuku with his left, his legs kept him grounded, his hips turned, and his arm shot forward, "DETROIT!" Blood came from the hero's mouth but he pushed through, he had to, he must, "SMASH!" After all he was a hero, and heroes always had to go beyond their limits!
The wind pressure split the sludge man up again, while Katsuki's and Izuku's bodies flailed in the wind like clothes on a windy day. Mt. Lady blocked the wind from the civilians while some of the pros braced themselves. The wind eventually dissipated allowing all to see that All Might stood triumphant
One of the heroes on site, Death Arms, looked on in awe. He too had a sort of super strength, but nothing compared to All Might's. His eyes widened when he felt something soft hit his arm, then something hit his head, then his leg, until he realized, "Holy shit, he changed the weather."
The civilians and pros cheered for All Might. Then the pros there approached the two boys and both berated and praised the teens. It was weird for both of the boys and they eventually got to leave, much to their relief
-Later: Walking Home-
"Hey...Deku…..!" Katsuki said as the two walked side by side in the direction of their homes.
"Yeah Kacchan?" Izuku responded.
"You didn't do anything for me! I didn't need your help!" Kacchan said as he walked off and went home. As he got farther away the blonde smirked, a far distant memory enveloping his mind
"Mom, Auntie Inko, don't worry!" A little Katsuki said, while a young Izuku proceeded to say "Why!" In unison they both chanted "Because we are here!"
Their childhood dream could happen, 'Deku was more a hero then anyone back there, maybe except All Might. But still.' Not that he'd ever tell that to his face.
'Well he isn't not wrong…..but I am glad that he's safe' Izuku thought to himself with a smile. He kept on walking, head slouched when he heard footsteps around the corner, he paused and waited for the person to come around the corner.
"Ah, Young Midoriya, I've been looking all over for y-" he was cut off and deflated into small might, blood escaping his lips. Izuku went to the man's side and patted his back slowly.
" All Might! Are you ok?" Izuku asked.
"I-I'm*cough* fine Young Midoriya, now where was I?" He asked as he steadied himself.
"You said you were looking for me? Izuku asked.
"Ah right." The man straightened himself "You said your quirk was weak, right Young Midoriya?" The boy nodded, "Well it looks like your quirk evolved during the encounter with the sludge villain." Izuku nodded, albeit slowly this time, 'So it was quirk evolution' he thought. "When quirks evolve it may be sometimes harder to get a grasp on them since they're either stronger or even completely different from before." All Might explained
"Yeah, but what does that have to do with-"
"Well I could help you with gaining control over your quirk, but in turn you will have to help me with something also." All Might said, he didn't expect an immediate answer but he was hoping the kid would say yes, eventually.

'Is he gonna respond or-'
"YOU'D DO THAT FOR ME ALL MIGHT!" Izuku exclaimed. The pro nodded, "W-Why, if I may ask."
Toshinori looked Izuku in the eyes and he saw the shine of sea blue in them while Toshinori saw all sorts of colors shine in Izuku's own emerald, "Today I did not see a hero wannabe, I did not see a fanboy, I did not see a middle schooler, I saw someone who was willing to act. Even when the pros weren't, so tell me Izuku Midoriya, why did you act?"
Izuku thought about it for a while, he didn't exactly know why he acted. He just saw Kacchan and moved, there was nothing more to it, "I just saw someone that needed help and I was already running All Might before I realized what was happening."
All Might hummed with a smile, 'He's perfect, I'm sorry Nighteye but I believe Young Midoriya might be a better candidate' All Might thought, "Young Midoriya, all great heroes have stories from their youths where their bodies moved on their own."
Izuku recoiled at the statement, 'All GREAT heroes..' He felt his eyes stinging already.
"I will train you to become a hero, but in exchange you must do something for me as well." All Might said.
"WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO ALL MIGHT SIR!" Izuku yelled.
"Focus on becoming a hero Young Midoriya, and over the next 10 months until the UA entrance exam train your body so that it can handle and recieve my quirk and you will then become the next Symbol of Peace!"
"Wait what?"

Anyways, this was actually really fun. But anyways this is the revised chapter one. It's longer and I changed a lot about Izuku and Katsuki's friendship.
But yeah I'm rewriting, I'm going to revise any and all chapters, making them more enjoyable. When I first wrote EMP I had no idea what I was doing, and I still don't. But I have an idea of what to do and I feel like I've gotten slightly better at writing in these months.
