Me: Hello everybody, my name is Tokusatsu Universe and welcome to JRWBY and a new year! I am so SORRY for taking this long I got Covid, went to Cancun for a wedding, had to do college classes, went to Chicago and other things I did recently, god they made me forget about this, but I'm here.

We are now in the first official chapter of JRWBY. This chapter covers our protagonists beginnings and their first steps into Beacon Academy like the canon in a slightly different altered scenes.

On a side note, I want point out is that my stories will expand and even have references to a certain thing like how Toku no Hero Academia does it with Japanese Tokusatsu while here JRWBY does it with Role-Playing Games both Video and Tabletop.

Let's begin.

Chapter 1: A Hero's Beginning

A vehicle called a Bullhead is carrying and transporting tons of people to a location, but one particular blonde haired teenage boy named Jaune is leaning against the wall minding his own business with everyone else either talking to each other or doing the same thing he is doing.

"Oh, I can't believe my baby sister is going to Beacon with me!" A voice exclaimed that Jaune heard from yards away. "This is the best day ever!"

He looks to see a two girls from a distance, one with blonde hair while the other who seems younger has black hair with red tips and is gasping for air as she looks to be in a tight embrace from the slightly older girl who is supposedly the big sister.

"Please stop!" The red girl named Ruby Rose gasped as she squirmed in the tight embrace.

"But I'm so proud of you!" The blonde girl named Yang Xiao Long replied as she released her sister.

"Really, sis, it was nothing."

"What do you mean? It was incredible! Everyone at Beacon is gonna think you're the bee's knees!"

"I don't want to be the 'bee's knees,' okay? I don't wanna be any kind of knees! I just want to be a normal girl with normal knees."

"What's with you?" The blonde girl asked, surprised by her younger sister's lack of enthusiasm. "Aren't you excited?"

Ruby sighed as she replied. "I am, I just… I got moved ahead two years, okay? I don't want people to think I'm special or anything."

Yang didn't see any problem with the situation. "But you are special!" she encouraged, pulling Ruby into a more gentle, one-armed hug.

Jaune takes note of it before he chuckles and smiles, but his moment would soon be interrupted as a news bulletin on the Vale News Network running, and he turned his head to face the viewscreen.

On screen was a pair of mugshots of a wanted criminal, and the announcer was currently reporting, "The robbery was led by the nefarious criminal Roman Torchwick, who continues to evade authorities. If you have any information about his whereabouts, please contact the Vale Police Department. Back to you, Lisa!"

The screen switched to Lisa Lavender, the main anchor for the news show, as she replied to the reporter, "Thank you, Cyril. In other news, this Saturday's Faunus Civil Rights protest turned dark when members of the White Fang disrupted the ceremony. The once peaceful organization has now disrupted–"

The TV suddenly winked out, and in its place stood a hologram of an older blond woman.

"Hello and welcome to Beacon," the hologram began.

"Who's that?" Yang wondered aloud.

"My name is Glynda Goodwitch," the woman continued.

"Oh," Yang quietly said, as her question was answered.

Glynda's image continued. "You are among a privileged few who have received the honor of being selected to attend this prestigious academy! Our world is experiencing an incredible time of peace, and as future Huntsmen and Huntresses, it is your duty to uphold it. You have demonstrated the courage needed for such a task, and now it is our turn to provide you with the knowledge and the training to protect our world." With that, the recording disappeared.

Jaune along with other people began to crowd to the windows as the city of Vale shrank beneath the slowly rising airship.

"Woah!" Ruby gasped, joining the ones looking out the glass. "You can see Signal from up here!" she said over her shoulder to Yang. "I guess home isn't so far away after all."

Yang came up behind her and smiled. "Beacon is our home now."

Ruby continues to her viewpoint towards Beacon Academy as it gradually grew closer and closer to them.

"I wonder who we're gonna meet!" she said, voice filled with wonder.

Jaune looks in admiration at the breathtaking sight before him as he then looks at his gloved hands before smiling and going back to the view.

The airship was gradually getting ever closer to Beacon Academy, where the new students, would be calling home for the next four years. The future seemed bright, and people like Jaune, Ruby, and Yang could barely await the adventures that it had in store for them.

The airship gently came to a slow halt as the doors began to open. Several other airships were arriving to their left and right, with students disembarking to begin heading towards the school.

Jaune enters out of the bullhead to gaze upon Beacon. The school's tall tower loomed over him and others, and in front of the school was a vast courtyard, at the center of which stood a fountain spouting water from decorative statues of a Huntsman and Huntress standing triumphantly over a Grimm. Above the school rose Beacon Tower, one of the four transmitting towers of the Cross Continental Transmit System, that glowed with a green light just barely visible through the clouds.

"Wow." Jaune muttered, until he feels something rumbling in his pocket and takes out his phone like device called Scroll with the caller ID saying "Mother".

Jaune clicks it and brings it up to his ear, "Hello, mom... Yeah I made it and it looks really great and the people seem nice."

"Wait, where are you going? Are we supposed to go to our dorms? Where are our dorms? Do we have dorms?" Ruby yelled out in the distance as her sister Yang ditches her to be by herself alone. "I don't know what I'm doing here…"

Jaune ignores that and keeps focusing on his scroll, "Hey mother, I really appreciate you helping me get enrolled and being accepted into this place. It means so much..."

The voice from the scroll then speaks as the people around only hear muttering and gibbering from the scroll and blonde boy.

"Okay mom, I'll give it my all here and make you proud, love you. Bye." Jaune hangs up his scroll and puts it in his pocket, but before he could start moving he hears a explosion and looks to see a cloud of smoke that looks to be from magic energy crystal called Dust.

Jaune goes to investigate the area to find the same red and black haired girl he overheard in the Bullhead on her knees and gave out a forlorn sigh. Slowly falling to her back, she looked up into the sky and muttered sadly to herself, "Welcome to Beacon."

Jaune looks worried and approaches her

"Are you okay?" he asked, offering an outstretched hand to her.

She smiled a little before taking his hand. "Yeah."

"What's your name? My name is Jaune." He introduced, smiling.

"Ruby," the young girl replied as she was helped to her feet. Ruby looked him over and remembered where she had seen the guy before.

"Weren't you the same guy who was on the same Bullhead with me?" Ruby asked.

"Yep, I actually overheard you and I assume your sister of some sort?"

"Yeah, she's my older sister in fact."

"Heh isn't that nice, to be going to a huntsmen school with your sibling..." Jaune muttered.

"What was that?"

"Nothing."

Taken out of her sad flunk, Ruby, happy to have finally found someone friendly, tried to think of something to talk about. "Well," she thought to herself, "we are gonna be training to become Huntsmen. Might as well get his specs."

"So, I've got this thing," Ruby said as she unfolded Crescent Rose.

"Wow, let me guess that is scythe and a sniper rifle combined." Jaune answered.

"That's right, a customizable, high-impact one too!" Ruby said proudly, impressed that Jaune correctly guessed the weapon without actually showing the other feature.

"So what've you got?" She asked, excited to see what weapons that her "new" friend has.

Jaune pulled out a sword from a sheath he had been wearing on his belt. "I got this sword."

Ruby, being polite, as well as liking to observe new weapons, let out an interested "Ooohh."

"And I've got a shield." Jaune continued as he withdrew his sword's scabbard from his belt and hit a hidden button that transformed it in his hand into a broad shield. "But I have more."

"Really!" Ruby exclaimed, loving to see more weapons.

Jaune puts away the sword and shield pulls out a axe with a spike that he then extends and a metal ball adorned with spikes that also extends. "Halberd and Morningstar."

"Wow!"

"But I'm still not done," Jaune puts his two weapons away and brings out a rifle looking weapon before pressing a hidden button in it that extends to reveal a sideway bow on it. "And finally the crossbow."

"Oh my oum, it's like you're walking armory!" Ruby complimented. "Well I like them! Not many people have an appreciation for the classics these days."

"Thanks."

"But it isn't kind of tiring to be carrying that amount of weapons?"

"Not really, I trained with these weapons and learned how to circumvent the issue by making them more portable in my design. Besides I prefer the traditional weapons and not really a fan of the mecha-shift ones people carry now." Jaune answered, however it would turn out to actually offend Ruby as she gasped.

"But mecha-shift are awesome, they let you switch out the weapon immediately without having to bring out a totally new weapon." Ruby argued, clenching her weapon closely as if it is her "baby".

"Yeah but the problem is that while it has versatility but a glaring weakness as its a single weapon and what happens when it gets destroyed, you are then left defenseless with nothing to fight back with. That's why I carry a bunch of older more specialized weapons that despite their age are more than effective for their particular roles and gives me a different fighting style. So yeah your modern weapon isn't perfect."

Ruby fires back, "No way, Crescent Rose is a very great weapon and I'll prove it at the initiation.

"Alright let's have contest to see which weapon style is better." Jaune puts out his hand to Ruby, who immediately shakes it to start a fierce, but friendly rivalry of new vs. old weapons.

With this argument put on hold, Ruby decides change the subject, "So, why'd you help me out back there? In the courtyard?"

Jaune shrugged. "Eh, why not? I always help others in distress when I see it and I do it without hesitation."

Ruby thought about it and smiled. "You're right."

"Well it's time for to go to auditorium for that speech I guess."

"Also that, let's go."

With that Jaune and Ruby then walk towards inside the school.

The auditorium hall of Beacon Academy was filled with incoming students bustling to find friends. As Ruby and Jaune entered, Ruby caught sight of her sister waving to her from the midst of a large group of people.

"Ruby! Over here, I saved you a spot!" Yang called over the din.

"Oh!" Ruby said in relief. Her sister, the one person she needed right now. Turning to Jaune, Ruby hurriedly said, "Hey, I-I gotta go! I'll see you after the ceremony!" With that, Ruby took off towards her sister.

"Bye, I guess," Jaune watched her go as he puts his hands in his pockets and looks away. His mind wanders off as he thinks of other things to past the time until...

"You!"

Jaune hears a yell and turns to see a white haired girl confront his first friend, Ruby who leapt into Yang's surprised arms as she cried, "Oh, God, it's happening again!"

The white haired girl named Weiss stood there with her hands on her hips as she regarded the sisters with disdain and annoyance. "You're lucky we weren't blown off the side of the cliff."

Yang's eyes widened as she finally realized what was going on. "Oh my God, you actually exploded."

"It was an accident!" Ruby protested to her sister as she got down from Yang's arms.

She turned to Weiss and again pleaded, "It was an accident!" However, Weiss thrust something forward to her before she could continue. Ruby backed up a bit and recognized the object as a small paper pamphlet. The title 'Dust for Dummies' was written across the top. "What's this?"

Weiss looked at her and quickly explained, "The Schnee Dust Company is not responsible for any injuries or damages sustained while operating a Schnee Dust Company product. Although not mandatory, the Schnee Family highly encourages their customers to read and familiarize themselves with this easy to follow guide to Dust applications and practices in the field."

Ruby, unable to process the information that had come whizzing into her ears, responded with a confused, "Uhhh?"

Weiss fixed her with a cold stare. "You really want to make it up to me?" she asked.

"Absolutely?" Ruby replied tentatively.

In response, Weiss shoved the pamphlet into Ruby's grip and said, "Read this and don't ever talk to me again."

Yang, who had been watching the entire altercation, tried to jump in. "Look, uh, it just sounds like you two got off on the wrong foot. Why don't you start over and just try to be friends?" she proposed.

Ruby brightened at the idea. "Great idea, sis!" she said as she put the pamphlet away. She turned to Weiss and extended a hand, clearing her throat. "Hello, Weiss! I'm Ruby! Wanna hang out? We can go shopping for school supplies."

Weiss adopted a fake smile as she replied with mock enthusiasm, "Yeah! And we can paint our nails, and try on clothes and talk about cute boys like tall, blond, and scraggly over there." She motioned with a thumb over her shoulder to where Jaune was standing.

Jaune narrowed his eyes at the heiress' insult directed at him as he is not scraggly as he is rather well built and he certainly didn't like how she is treating his friend Ruby like that, giving him very bad impressions on the snow white girl and he clearly knows that she is a Schnee, but he decides to keep calm and will deal with her later as the sound of a microphone being tapped cut off most of the conversations happening among the students in the auditorium hall. The students quieted and turned to the main stage where Ozpin had stepped up to a tall microphone stand with a black cane in hand, Glynda not far behind him. He straightened his glasses as he began to speak.

"I'll... keep this brief," he began solemnly. "You have traveled here today in search of knowledge, to hone your craft and acquire new skills, and when you have finished, you plan to dedicate your life to the protection of the people. But I look amongst you, and all I see is wasted energy, in need of purpose, direction." Students began to whisper among themselves, puzzled over his words, but he continued after a brief pause. "You assume knowledge will free you of this, but your time at this school will prove that knowledge can only carry you so far. It is up to you to take the first step." With that, the man stepped back from the mic and walked off the stage, as Glynda stepped up to the stand.

"You will gather in the ballroom tonight; tomorrow, your initiation begins. Be ready. You are dismissed." Glynda turned and walked off the stage after Ozpin, leaving the students to begin filing out of the auditorium and head to the ballroom to unpack.

As she watched the two teachers go, Yang commented, "He seemed kind of… off."

Ruby nodded her head in agreement next to Weiss. "It's almost like he wasn't even there." Weiss said nothing, her eyes following the teachers as they exited the auditorium through a side door.

Later that night, the large crowd of incoming students had all finally unpacked and were settled in sleeping bags and blankets on the floor of the ballroom. Most of them had already changed into sleepwear, and many were gathered into individual groups of friends or other cliques as they excitedly discussed what tomorrow's trials were likely to bring.

Ruby was laying on her stomach on top of her sleeping bag, thoughtfully writing something in a small notebook with her pencil. Her long pajama pants were a light pink, and her simple black shirt and matching eye mask were blown a bit by the air coming from a vent above her. Yang plopped down next to her on a sleeping bag of her own, dressed similarly in her sleepwear with a yellow shirt and black shorts.

"It's like a big slumber party!" Yang said.

Without looking up from her writing, Ruby responded, "I don't think Dad would approve of all the boys, though."

With a smirk and a sly gaze, Yang remarked, "I know I do." She gave a half-joking purr as she admired some of the boys across the large room who had chosen to sleep shirtless tonight and were showing off bulging muscles to friends. However, one guy manages to catch her eye and that is the boy that Ruby told her about after the auditorium as he walks up to the two while wearing a white tank top and yellow shorts.

"Hey Ruby, and you must be her sister."

"Right I am, I'm Yang," Yang gets up and examines Jaune further with a hand on her chin, "Ruby couldn't stop talking about you. Thank you for being her friend, glad to see she made a new friend here and rather good looking one at that."

"Well I'm glad I passed the test from you. Guess I really finished it off with a Yang," Jaune joked.

"Haha, good one! That's how we also become friends!" Yang laughed and high fived Jaune over his goofiness and the pun, easily accepting him now.

Ruby, on the other hand, had a fearful look on her face upon hearing that. "Oh no! They're multiplying!" She wailed, putting her head on the pillow fearing that she will have to deal with two blondes jokers.

"Hey! I take offense to that!" Yang protested as she put Ruby in a headlock. "Besides, I think I misunderstood Jaune, he's cool to me now."

"Not that, the puns!" Ruby still whined as she courageously withstood her sister's noogie.

Jaune chuckles at the sisterly display until a small noise off to the side caught the the three's attention. Turning to one of the less populated portions of the ballroom, Yang saw a girl her age dressed in black pajamas and a matching bow on her head had just set down a lit candelabra on a small table and was holding a book in one hand, quietly reading by herself.

"That girl…" Ruby said thoughtfully.

"You know her?" Yang asked.

"Not really," Ruby admitted. "She saw what happened this morning, but left before I could say anything."

"Really, well then let's introduce ourselves to her." Jaune walks towards the girl with Ruby albeit forcefully pulled along by Yang to follow suit.

The girl with the book looked up as she heard the sounds of approaching students.

"Hello, my name is Jaune, what's your name?"

"Blake," the girl replied simply, and returned her eyes to her book, with a quiet.

Seeing that Jaune couldn't get Blake to talk more, it was Yang's turn as she let out a sing-song, "Hello, Blake! I believe you and my sister may know each other?"

The girl looked up at Ruby. A small glint of recognition flashed across her otherwise impassive face. "Aren't you… that girl that exploded?"

"Uh, yeah!" Ruby said, a sheepish smile on her face. "My name's Ruby, Blake!"

The girl shrugged and returned her eyes to her book, with a quiet, "Okay," being her only response.

"Not much of talker I see." Jaune said.

"No..." Blake said, not looking up from her page.

Jaune looks to Yang and Ruby who both looked at him before signaling him to go first again.

"Hey Blake, I really like your bow, love the black color." Jaune complimented.

"Thanks," Blake replied, trying to project her irritation in her tone.

"I'm Yang by the way, Ruby's older sister, and I think your bow goes great with your… pajamas!" Yang continued, helping to strike up conversation. Ruby gave a nervous giggle in the silence. Jaune rubs the back of his head smiling nervously.

"Nice night, don't you think?" Yang said, refusing to give up.

"Yes," Blake said, as she raised her eyes to meet the sisters. "It's lovely. Almost as lovely as this book." She paused. There was no reaction from the girls. "That I will continue to read."

The the three still stood there, not moving. "As soon as you all leave," Blake finished.

Yang turned to her sister and Jaune, "Yeah, this girl's a lost cause."

Ruby, however, was looking thoughtfully at the book Blake was holding. "What's it about?"

"Huh?" said Blake, surprised by the question.

"Your book," Ruby said, gesturing with a hand. "Does it have a name?"

"Well," Blake said haltingly, as if trying to gather her words, "it… it's about a man with two souls, each fighting for control over his body."

"Wait are you talking about that doctor who struggles to control himself after creating a split personality one that is a foul-tempered murderer? I think I read that book, pretty interesting book." Jaune said.

Blake looks up at Jaune a bit astonished, "You read books too?"

Jaune shrugs, "Only if I feel like it and if the book has interesting plot and characters."

Yang, who wasn't much for books herself, said offhandedly, "Oh yeah, that's real lovely."

Ruby, however, smiled a bit. "I love books. Yang used to read to me every night before bed. Stories of heroes and monsters… they're one of the reasons I want to be a Huntress!"

Despite herself, Blake gave a quiet laugh. "And why is that? Hoping you'll live happily ever after?"

Ruby answered honestly with a smile. "Well, I'm hoping we all will. As a girl, I wanted to be just like those heroes in the books… Someone who fought for what was right, and protected people who couldn't protect themselves!"

Blake smiled slightly. "That's… very ambitious for a child." Her smile became a frown as something seemed to occur to her. "Unfortunately, the real world isn't the same as a fairytale."

"Well, that's why we're here," Ruby replied, "to make it better."

"I actually agree with both of you, and I think we all should strive for the ideals of what being a Huntsman is supposed to be and should do whatever it takes for it, no matter how much the world puts you down." Jaune added in.

"Yeah, Jaune is right!" Ruby chimed.

"Oh!" Yang said, who had been listening intently to the entire conversation. Now, she wrapped her sister in a tight hug and hoisted her into the air. "I'm so proud of my baby sister and to you too Jaune!"

Ruby, flailing and kicking, cried out, "Hey! Cut it out!" The hug quickly devolved into a flailing wrestling match between the sisters as Jaune and Blake quietly watched it play out before the two and both laughed quietly.

"Still it was nice meeting you Blake," Jaune said, smiling.

Blake nodded in agreement, "It's a pleasure to have met you Jaune, Yang, and Ruby-"

"What in the world is going on over here?" came a shrill voice that cut Blake off. "Don't you realize that some of us are trying to sleep?"

Despite her hair being out of its usual ponytail and being in her sleepwear, there was no mistaking the new arrival. Weiss' eyes flared up in recognition at the same moment as Yang's.

"Oh, not you again!" both girls said in unison. Jaune sighs in exasperations.

Ruby, desperately trying to diffuse the situation, came between the girls with her arms up. "Shh, guys, she's right! People are trying to sleep!"

Weiss angrily turned to her. "Oh, so now you're on my side?"

"I was always on your side!" Ruby responded frantically.

Yang chimed in, "Yeah, what's your problem with my sister? She's only trying to be nice!"

"She's a hazard to my health!" Weiss protested.

Jaune and Blake both had tired looks at the fighting.

"I think we should call it a night, Blake," Jaune said.

Blake nodded and simply blew out her candle on the table beside her, plunging their secluded little corner into darkness.

As the morning rises, Jaune yawns as he looks around to see that most of the students have woken earlier and are most likely getting breakfast. Jaune sees that Ruby, Weiss, Blake, and Yang are gone as well, so Jaune gets dressed in his short sleeved brown jacket over a black vest with sleeves that reached the elbows and his arching rainbow looking symbol on the center of the chest, pants with a belt with a pouch and two thigh holsters, combat knee pads, and knee high black military boots with light shin armor on them before completing it with gloves.

As Jaune tries to find his way to the cafeteria for breakfast, he thought he had the school figured out, but he was very wrong and is lost

"Hey you lost!" A voice called out.

Jaune turns to see a group composing of two boys and two girls with the one girl having bunny ears indicating that she is a Faunus, a race with animal like features.

"Yeah..." Jaune muttered as he approaches the group. "Trying to find the cafeteria."

"Come with us, we know where it is." The brunette girl wearing a beret and holding a handbag said.

"Okay, my name's Jaune by the way." He introduced.

"Coco, and these are my teammate Fox, Velvet, and Yatsuhashi." The brunette girl introduced herself and her teammates as the five walk together and they all start to chat and get to know each other a bit with Coco complimenting Jaune's outfit until they reach the cafeteria.

"Well that was nice conversations we had, I hope we can see each other often after the initiation." Jaune said, smiling.

"We will and this is where we part ways and wish you good luck on your initiation, Jaune. Keep up that good fashion." Team CFVY and Jaune then separate into the cafeteria.

After Jaune gets his breakfast and searches for a place to sit down, he finds that most tables are either filled with students or with those that are taking initiation like himself, he also notices that most seem already full until he sees a raven haired boy with a streak of pink and a ginger haired girl sitting by themselves on a table.

"They seem good," Jaune thought decides that its as good place as any as he approaches them.

"Right! What was I thinking? But still, I hope we end up on the same team together!" the gingered haired girl exclaimed while the black haired boy remained a quiet stoic demeanor.

"Excuse me?" The two turned to Jaune.

"Could I sit down here?" He asked.

"Of course go on ahead!" The girl answered while the boy nodded as Jaune takes a seat across from them.

"Let' introduce ourselves, my name is Jaune."

"I'm Nora." The ginger haired girl introduced.

"Ren."

"Salutations!"

The three look up to see another ginger haired girl with bright green eyes, light skin, and freckles.

"May I join you three in this table of sitting?"

"Sure go on ahead." Jaune said.

The girl sits down next Jaune, "Let me introduce myself again, I'm Jaune, and sitting across is Nora and Ren."

Nora waved happily while Ren waved quietly.

"My name is Penny! It's a pleasure to meet you all!"

"So now that we know each other's name, let's get to know each other a bit, I'll go first, I used to work at my mother's shop, she's a retired huntress and she helped get in here via recommendation. What about you two?"

"Ooooooh, nice! Me and Ren have known each other since we were kids in Anima and decided to become huntsmen here after some training!" Nora exclaimed, smiling while Ren looks a bit uneasy as Jaune saw, but choose to ignore it for now before the three turned Penny.

"What about you Penny, where are you from?" Jaune asked.

"Oh, I came from Atlas as my father wanted me to experience the company of people here rather then over at Atlas Academy."

"Wow, this is great, even before we form teams, me and Ren already made two friends here."

Penny's eyes widen, "You called me friend! Am I really your friend?"

"Of course, I mean we're all sitting here together so we may as well be." Jaune said, smiling and eating his breakfast.

Penny grew overjoyed and laughs that she now made the first three friends with these students in Beacon. "Sen-sational! Thank you so much!"

"You're welcome, I hope we become a team." Jaune said, finishing his breakfast and so has Nora and Ren.

"I hope so too and I think you Jaune would be an awesome leader!" Nora complimented, Ren nodding in agreement.

Jaune rubs his head smiling nervously, "Thanks... It was good seeing you three, I'll be off to the locker now."

Jaune gets up from his seat with an empty tray in his hands and walks away to get ready.

Jaune enters the locker room to retrieve his weapons and sees that his locker is blocked by Weiss talking to this red haired woman that he knows is Pyrrha Nikos, the four time Mistral champion and the cover of Pumpkin Pete cereal.

"Well, I was thinking may be we could be on a team together?" Weiss offered.

Pyrrha smiled at Weiss. "Well that sounds grand!" she said kindly.

"Great!" Weiss said, turning away before Pyrrha could catch the smile of victory that flashed across her face. "This will be perfect!" she thought to herself. "The smartest girl in class combined with the strongest girl in class! Together we will be unstoppable! I can see it now! We'll be popular! We'll be celebrities! We'll get perfect grades! Nothing can come between us now!"

Seeing that, Jaune quickly sees it as the perfect opportunity to get some payback for what she did to Ruby and what she said about him the day before and he comes near and the girls notice him.

Weiss' thoughts were suddenly interrupted as Jaune is walking towards them.

"What do you want?" She asked in a rude yet trying to be dignified manner and clearly annoyed by his presence.

Jaune responding in a very calm manner and points "That's my locker right there, you are currently in front of it so could you please move away?"

Weiss was caught her off-guard as she expected this boy to try to flirt with either of them, so she moves out of the way and allows him access to his locker from where he starts putting on his gear and five weapons, but just as she was going to continue her talk with Pyrrha someone decides to butt into the conversation.

"What were the two of you talking about by the way?"

"That's none of your business, in fact do you even realize just who are you talking to?" Weiss responded with a very annoyed tone.

Jaune already done gearing up so he closes the locker turns to face her and calmly looks at her unimpressed, "Yeah a very spoiled self-centered brat that has done nothing but prove herself to be incredibly rude and a nuisance ever since we first set foot here yesterday," he calmly retorted.

Weiss is at first gobsmacked but also incredibly mad that someone had the audacity to answer to her like that.

"J-Just who do you think you are?! I am Weiss Schnee current heir to the Schnee Dust Company and I will not be disrespected by some country bumpkin who's so full of himself just because he somehow got into Beacon's initiation!" She said in a very angry tone with added sass, "in fact just how did someone like you got in? Does Beacon gives handouts to people of your background out of pity?"

"Through hard work and determination, something someone that was born with a silver spoon like you would never know about!" Jaune responded in a very angered tone in retaliation, this of course only triggers the white girl more since she did work very hard to even be allowed to go and by this point in time she is still very prideful

"You know nothing about me! Or what I have been through! so you have no right judge me!" Weiss yelled.

"Oh but you are allowed to be prejudiced about everyone else! Right?! After all just yesterday you called me "tall, blonde and scraggly" without ever giving me a second glance despite the fact that we never even had spoken before AND decided to go ballistic on my friend for a simple mistake that was in the end your fault! so don't come acting all 'high and mighty' on me!"

"W-Why youuu!..."

"PLEASE STOP!"

The yell got the two's attention, now with both of them looking at Pyrrha who yelled at them to stop.

"G-Guys I think that maybe we started with the wrong foot here, so why don't we calm down and try to make peace, we are all going to become classmates if we pass initiation..."

"As if somebody like him would ever be able to pass!" Weiss interrupted.

"Oh are you willing to bet you hag?!" Jaune fired back.

"W-What did you just call me...?!"

"FINE! if you want to keep acting like that then at least let me propose a way to solve the issue in a more constructive manner?, look we all need to go to the initiation soon so why don't you two make a small competition?" Pyrrha proposes and this caught both of their attention.

"A competition?" They both asked at the same time.

"Uh-huh, both of you would compete against each other during initiation, while we still don't know what it entails we do know that not everyone will pass, so whoever of you two manages to pass wins and the other has to apologize to them." Pyrrha explained.

Both Jaune and Weiss think this for a moment during which Jaune realizes something

"There is a small problem with the proposal..."

A confused Pyrrha looks to Jaune "What?"

"Well there is still the chance that both of us pass so what do we do in that case?" Jaune asked.

Pyrrha feeling a bit self conscious says "Ah right, I forgot that could happen"

"Huh as if someone like him could ever pass." Weiss butted in again, to which Jaune glares at her.

"Just watch me brat!"

"STOP!" Pyrrha once again intervenes by screaming which immediately stops them and says in

"Why don't we do this then, as you may know Huntsmen academies tend to put students in teams of 4 composed of 2 pairs and each pair is formed by two students which are partners." Pyrrha said in a tired tone with both Jaune and Weiss nodding.

Pyrrha continues, "We still don't know when they are planning to sorts us but its likely to be either shortly after or even during the initiation, the thing is that the academies don't always get enough students to put into full teams so there may be cases where some are stuck without a partner but still as part of a team, with ONLY a partner and no team, or just stay on their own..."

Both Jaune and Weiss widen their eyes finally getting what the redhead is telling them.

"So why don't we make it that the one who manages to pass and get into a team wins, that way there are two variables to keep track off and if you fail at even one you automatically lose."

Jaune and Weiss both think about it for a moment after which Weiss replies "That... could work..."

"Yeah I don't like agreeing with her but it could be a good way to settle this, so what do you say "ice queen" are you in or not?" Jaune said.

"Do not call me that, and as for the bet I agree just remember to get on your knees for when you give your apology when I inevitably win" Weiss replied in an annoyed tone.

"Oh really? well I hope you are ready to eat your own words cause I'm not going to lose."

"Huh just by judging the kind of backward gear you are using its obvious who has the better chance to win here, after all as far as I know most of those weapons became obsolete decades ago, the fact that you carry around so many of them instead of simply using a superior mechashift like a 'proper' Huntsmen its just laughable!"

This gravely insults Jaune who instead of exploding levels her with an intimidating gaze and in a cold fury replies, "Oh so that's what you believe? Well then I'll just have to crush your preconceived notions starting by that toothpick you call a sword."

"W-Why you...!"

"ENOUGH! Save it for the initiation which I remind you we need to go soon" Pyrrha said, stopping them from arguing any further.

This both calm down a bit level each other a determined gaze and separate, "Very well, I Weiss Schnee accept to these terms",

Jaune adds by saying "I Jaune... Calavera accept these terms"

"Very well with that out of the way I suggest we all go to the Cliffs, initiation is going to start soon and we don't want to get late."

"You are right Pyrrha, I had hoped we could have more time to talk but it seems we will need to continue in another occasion." Weiss said before she leave.

Nobody says says anything after she walks off until she finally gets out of sight,

Pyrrha then sighs, looks at Jaune, "I know that she is maybe a bit abrasive and standoffish, but did you really need to provoke her like that?" She asks him in a confused tone.

"As a matter of fact I did, you likely don't know about it because you weren't near when it happened, but yesterday she treated a friend of mine in a really awful manner, the reason? she had the misfortune of being involved in an accident where all of her Dust exploded, an accident that she herself caused when she decided to act all 'high and mighty' on my friend chiding her about 'the proper handling of Dust' all while waving a vial of it directly on my friend's face, causing her to sneeze, which activated the Dust, made it explode and then caused a chain reaction that exploded the rest of that girl's Dust with both of them inside the area!" Jaune answered.

Pyrrha's eyes widen and says "Wait, that explosion from yesterday, that was them?!"

"Yes, it was them, but that's not the worst part, you see after that she simply picked herself up and left my friend there only telling her to 'stay away from her', we thought that was it only for her to appear once again after Ozpin's Speech and start chiding my friend again right in front of her sister, I was hearing this exchange and at first decided since my friend's sister was there and since she was trying to get them to mend things and start over, that I wouldn't have a need to interfere, but then she not only refuses to make peace and continues to be mean to my friend, but also decides to take a stab at me by insulting me, 'calling me tall, blond and scraggly', all while not looking at me and without ever even having interacted with me, like I was barely worth her notice, at that I got angry and was going to march to her to give her a piece of my mind, but at that moment she simply left once again, and I didn't felt like chasing her then, hence why I took the chance now that I had it."

Pyrrha starts to understand where Jaune is coming from here but she then realizes something, "I can understand why you and your friend would be angry at her but that doesn't explains why she was chiding at your friend about 'the proper handling of Dust'."

"That's because I still haven't tell you about that part, you see the whole reason why she decided to act so mean to my friend, the reason why all of this started on the first place, was because my friend had accidentally stumbled on her luggage while she was distracted admiring Beacon, causing it to fall and spill its contents which were vials of Dust, and the best part is that before that she (Weiss) had simply just left it there right in the middle of the road, like who the hell leaves a suitcase full a of dangerous substance unattended right where anybody during a moment of distraction could stumble on it?! And then she has the nerve to lecture my friend about 'the proper handling of Dust' while waving a vial of it to her face, all while doing the exact same thing she accuses my friend of..."

Jaune pauses for a second then sighs and continues, "You know I personally don't really care much when people insult me even if it still angers me, but if they mess with my friends, with the people I care about... to me its like they crossed a line they shouldn't have and I cannot just let it slide..."

Then a silence falls between both of them for a few seconds but just as Pyrrha is about to say something, a torpedo made out of roses launches itself at high speeds directly towards Jaune, catching him (and Pyrrha) unaware and knocking him down to the ground where a very happy Ruby Rose is now giving him a bear hug while muttering "thank you" repeatedly.

"Ruby!? When? Ho-How? did you just saw what happened?" Jaune asked.

"She wasn't the only one ladykiller and I have to say I really did liked what I saw" Yang said as she enter the picture, walks over Jaune and Ruby and helps them get up once more, "We both just finished getting our gear ready and were going to the cliffs to wait for the initiation but then we saw the 'ice queen' talking the 'champ' here and since they where on route that led to the cliffs we decided to wait until they were gone in order to avoid another confrontation, no offense P-money."

Pyrrha only offered a smile being rather confused yet also amused at her new nickname, Yang then continued, "but then we saw you coming in and we saw what you did, how you stood up to her and more importantly how you stood up for Ruby... thanks, when we arrived here I was worried that my little sis would have problems making friends, being 2 years younger than the rest of us and with her social awkwardness to boot."

"Hey!" Ruby added with an indignant.

Yang ignores it and then continues, "But now I feel more calm knowing that at least one person is willing to have her back for when I'm not near, so again thanks Jaune..."

"Its ok Yang I would do this for all my friends, you included if you still wish to that is" Jaune said in an understanding manner.

"Who knows? But maybe I can give it a chance, after all you just proved to be a pretty stand-up guy with what you did last night and just did for Rubes over here." Yang said happily and rather mischievously before she proceeds to give Ruby a side hug while saying this, "just know that when compared to most guys I have met you are ok in my books."

Jaune gives his own smile, Yang finally adds "Now I will not take more of either of your time initiation begins soon we all need to go now or we'll be disqualified, let's go Rubes!"

"Coming Yang! Bye Jaune! Bye Pyrrha!" Ruby goes to follow Yang, but before they fully disappear from the corridor Yang turns back one last time, "Jaune one last thing."

Both Jaune and Pyrrha turn to look at her, "Please do me a favor, crush that little prissy girl and send her with daddy back to Atlas!"

And with that last bit of encouragement she and Ruby leave the lockers, leaving both Jaune and Pyrrha alone again.

"We too should go to the cliffs now, the initiation will start soon and neither of us wants to be disqualified, specially if you want to win that bet." She said with an added slight hint of mischievousness.

"Oh? I didn't take you for the teasing type." Jaune replied just as mischievously.

"I'm not normally but in the current circumstance it felt appropriate." Pyrrha had a sly smile on her face, to which Jaune just giggles a bit, but soon realizes something.

"You know with all these discussions and emotions running high I never actually did catch your name."

Pyrrha is a bit surprised but also pleased, "Yeah you are right we didn't properly introduce each other well lets rectify that now, my name is Pyrrha Nikos, I'm from Mistral, pleasured to meet you."

"I'm Jaune Calavera, I'm from Vale, pleasured to meet you Pyr."

Pyrrha is surprised but pleasantly so from the last part, "Huh, two nicknames in a single day, well today is shaping up to be full surprises.",

This made Jaune worried, "Don't you liked it? I can just call you Pyrrha if it makes you uncomfortable..." to which Pyrrha answers

"No on the contrary I love it, so please feel free to keep calling me that" She said, giving a smile, a genuine one at that smile.

"Pyr it is them" Jaune happily said.

After this both of them don't say anything else and simply start walking out of the lockers room, with their heads held high and determination on their hearts, to pass initiation alongside the new friends they have made.

Beacon Academy had been built on a large mountain that rose to look over the city of Vale, the kingdom's capital. However, the beautiful school overlooked another large piece of terrain from the back, one not quite as tamed or safe as the kingdom's busy streets. The Emerald Forest was a long stretch of green that went on for miles on end out past the cliff, and as the students looked out over the large expanse, each couldn't help but feel an excited thrill run through them as they contemplated what their initiation would entail.

Ruby looked past her sister to see the other students. Among the ones that she could recognize were Weiss and that red-haired girl from Mistral she had been talking to this morning; Jaune, who is very focused and is catching a glare from Weiss, from their earlier verbal scuffle at the locker room; Blake, looking as stoic and calm as ever as she surveyed the trees below them; and the pair of students in green and pink that had walked past her and Yang as they got ready this morning – Ren, she thought the guy's name was. There were several other students present that she didn't recognize or hadn't gotten to know yet. One thing was shared by almost everyone: the group was glancing from side to side, anxiously awaiting the beginning of the initiation trials.

Professors Ozpin and Goodwitch stood before them, Ozpin with a steaming glass of hot cocoa in his hand. As he called the students' attention, he said, "For years you have trained to become warriors, and today, your abilities will be evaluated in the Emerald Forest."

Glynda stepped forward. "Now, I'm sure many of you have heard rumors as to the assignment of 'teams.' Well, allow us to put an end to your confusion. Each of you will be assigned teammates. Today."

Ruby gave a small, worried groan. "What? Ohh."

"These teammates will be paired with you for the rest of your time here at Beacon," Ozpin continued "so it is in your best interest to be paired with someone with whom you work well."

Ruby gave another concerned noise.

"That being said," the headmaster went on, "the first person you make eye contact with after landing will be your partner for the next four years."

Ruby's jaw dropped. "What?!" Whoever she saw first would immediately become part of her team? Concerned muttering and gasps broke out among the rest of the students as well, except for Nora, who turned to Ren with a happy smile and said, "See? I told you!"

Ozpin let the din die down, then resumed in his instruction. "After you have partnered up, make your way towards the northern end of the forest. You will meet opposition along the way. Do not hesitate to destroy everything in your path… or you will die."

Jaune rolls his shoulders in preparation.

"You will be monitored and graded through the duration of your initiation, but our instructors will not intervene. You will find an abandoned temple at the end of the path containing several relics. Each pair must choose one and return to the top of the cliff. We will regard that item, as well as your standing, and grade you appropriately. Are there any questions?" the headmaster asked.

Seeing that no one raised their hand, Ozpin said "Good! Now, take your positions."

The students that weren't yet situated on the gray launch pads became so, and each assumed a ready position.

The huntsmen would soon be flung from the launch pad one by one as Jaune closes his eyes and takes a deep breath before he too is flung into the air and into the Emerald Forest where the initiation has now begun...
