Spoilers for: Whole cake island, later part of Wano
Summary: Sanji is pulled into the past by a Germa invention and strives to right the wrongs of his family's past.
Authors note: So far this is just a little snip of an idea. I haven't seen any sanji time travel involving the Germa, so I thought I would have a go at it. I've been contemplating doing this since I read Whole Cake island, so why not use it for a little writing practice. I do have a little bit of a plan to continue if this turns out good, so we'll see.

Past: Germa Kingdom
"The preliminary tests have been completed," a scientist with a white coat labeled 66 and a pair of goggles said. He turned to another in an identical uniform and said, "Do we have the hair samples?"
The other scientist approached quickly with a tray of vials with hairs ranging in primary and secondary colors. "Should we even put Sanji-sama's sample in? Only one will be able to come through and its based on the fortitude of the sample now and in the future when it links to the DNA. Isn't he a normal human?"
The original scientist scrunched his eyebrows and hummed. "Perhaps it will mean nothing….actually it will most likely mean nothing…but it is possible, and wouldn't it be interesting if he did come through. That would be enough to make it worth it. Put all 5 samples in their respective slots."
"Of course." The second scientist slid the tubes into 5 compartments in a grand machine in the center of the room. He then ran to a safe distance of 20ft and behind a plexiglass like wall shielding them and a control panel. "The samples are in place, begin!"
Another scientist in the same uniform pressed a large red button and the sound of the machine filled the room. It was the sound of whirring as big pistons moved arms on the machine to insert a pink thick serum into the test tubes and then cap them. The next step initiated and the arm-like holders of the tubes began spinning around the machine, slowly increasing in speed until it could be considered violent. The pink liquid turned a bright violet, signifying the pink serum had penetrated the hair and accessed the DNA
"Phase 3 begin!" The second scientist yelled, and pressed a yellow button next to the red one. The machine slowed its spinning to a stop and the arms holding the tubes moved upward and removed the caps in order to pour the concoction into the central bowl. A ring around the central cauldron like holder buzzed to life with electricity. "Activate the stimulant," the same scientist said.
Another one nodded once and pressed a green button on the side of the yellow one. The electric currents whizzed to the center of the machine, electrocuting the now purple mixture until it bubbled and fizzed. The light was blinding in the room. If one were to be in that room with a naked eye it would appear the world was flashing between pure black and white ."Ready to release into the chamber!"
The second scientist nodded and inserted a key next to a black button to the right of the green button. "Initiating the final stage, Stage 4." He pressed the black button with glee.
The room was tense with anticipation, like a thick cloud had covered the breathable air, for everyone held their breath. The machine whirred to life again, dropping the bubbling purple liquid into the inner chamber, just below the cauldron like compartment. Now, what was happening could not be seen, and all anyone could do was wait and hope for the best.
The machine went silent and the elevator like door leading to the central chamber opened. A thick purple mist slowly escaped from the chamber, leaving the dark silhouette standing there in the center. The scientists waited silently, each hoping for a different Vinsmoke child to exit the chamber, but none hoping for the little yellow one, not even considering him a possibility.
"Oi Oi, what the hell is this? Franky?!" The figure began coughing waving the mist from the air around his face. He stepped forward to reveal himself in the harsh lab lights. He was slender and well built, with striking yellow hair that covered his right eye, leaving his left eye showing with a curled eyebrow.
He immediately stopped when he saw where he was and who was in front of him. "I thought Judge and I agreed to never speak again…so what am I doing here?" he said so quietly only the closest to him could hear it. Those who did, felt a shiver in their spine at the tone. "Why am I currently in a Germa lab?" he said a little louder.
The scientists stood there frozen. They should be celebrating at the success of their machine, but the least expected child came through, and he was angry. One of the bolder scientists muttered to himself, "It appears Sanji's constitution was underestimated...please notify the boss." He pointed at another scientist who scrambled away to an intercom.
"Judge-sama…the machine was successful…we would appreciate you to come deal with the situation…" he said nervously. The others couldn't hear the response back but the one who did flinched. "Yes…we are sorry sir…but it would be best for you to deal with…" He held his breath before the next response. "Ye…yessir…thank you." The intercom hung up.
Sanji grumbled from his place in front of the machine. "You haven't answered my question," he said with an edge in his voice.
None of the scientists were willing to speak up, leaving a dead stare down between the single man and the room of scientists. None could tell how much time had passed before the doors burst open to reveal Vinsmoke Judge.
Sanji immediately glared at him with heated rage. "Judge…I thought you agreed to never seek me out again."
Judge laughed mirthlessly. "Well you see, you are no longer in your time, so any agreement I made no longer stands."
"Well then, I guess the same goes for me," Sanji said as he tilted his face up to fully meet Judge's. "I won't be staying here. You'll be sending me back as soon as possible."
Judge grinned. "I'm sorry Sanji, but this is a one way operation. You'll be staying here and aiding the Germa. There is nothing you can do to stop this, unless you are too weak to even do that."
Sanji pulled out a smoke and lit it. "And how will you be making me do such a thing?"
"Well, we will be holding your younger self hostage of course. He is of no use to us, and you are of no use if you aren't helping."
"Che…" Sanji thought for a moment and after finding no other solution, nodded. "What will you do if I agree." He couldn't even say to what he was agreeing to.
"Well for one I will release your former self. Clearly you made it through that machine so he can't actually be that weak. I guess he just needed the right motivation." Judge said thoughtfully with a menacing grin.
"If you consider an old geezer and getting stuck on Momorio island motivation…" Sanji muttered under his breath.
"What was that?"
"Nothing to you."
The two stared each other down once again.
Judge didn't know what to think of the defiance in his third son. For one, it meant their relationship, and his control, were weak. But on the other hand, it meant Sanji had the guts, and perhaps the strength to stand up to him.
"Follow me. We will be releasing your younger self and explaining the situation to your siblings."
Sanji scoffed again but followed grudgingy.
