71Hey guys, back to you all with a new chapter. I uploaded this chapter as my New Year gift to you all and a way for me to say thank you for liking this story. I have great plans for this story because it is the first one piece fanfiction where Luffy is this strong and hates the marine. I want to say again that my story will be different from the anime and Luffy's crew will be stronger than there are in the anime but there won't be at Luffy's level. I appreciate those who liked and review this story because the support is what keeps me going. Now enjoy.
ZORO JOINS AND THE DESTRUCTION OF A MARINE BRANCH
It has been a day since Nami and Luffy were sailing to the next island. During that time, there have been chatting and getting to know each other more. Nami was starting to feel something for Luffy just as Luffy was starting to feel something for Nami. There talked and told each other their likes and dislikes. Luffy realized just how much Nami loves money and Nami realized just how much Luffy likes meat. All in all, there enjoyed each other company very much.
"I see the next island" Nami told Luffy who was just waking up from a nap
"Are we there already? That's good to know I guess" Luffy sat up and looked at the island
"We need to dock soon and resupply cause we are running out" Nami said to him
Shells Town - Docks
Not soon after that, there reached the docks and got off their boat. Luffy and Nami immediately went into town to gather any information there could find on Zoro. They overheard people saying that Roronora Zoro was captured by the marines and that the head of the marine base here is a guy named Captain Morgan. There went into a restaurant to get something to eat. After there were done eating, they discussed on their next plan of action
"What should we do about Zoro" Nami asked him
Luffy looked at her while drinking some bear from a cup "what about Zoro?"
Nami face palmed at his lack of interest in the situation "I'm asking how we are going to get him if he is in prison"
Luffy looked at her like she asked something stupid "we just go inside and burst him out"
Nami banged her head on the table for his simple mind. She knew he was strong but this is a marine base with so many marines and their captain is well known for capturing and executing Kuro of the thousand plans. She felt someone grab her hand and held it tenderly which prompted her to look at him. She was speechless with the amount of compassion and love he is giving her with just a look
"Nami! Do not worry because no matter what happens, protecting you is my first priority" Nami couldn't believe that all her worries went away after hearing that. Her heart is beating like crazy for him and her face is as red as a tomato. She can't help but wonder what she feels for him because it cannot be friendship. How can she be feeling something to a guy that she just met yesterday? Why is it getting hard to look him in the eyes? She doesn't understand this feeling but she doesn't want it to stop.
"Are you okay Nami? Your face is red?" Luffy was giving her a worried look.
She took her hand away from his after she realized that he was still holding her "am alright Luffy. Must have been the food we ate" yeah she is lying but there is no way that she is admitting to him that she is falling for him.
Luffy looked at her for a few seconds before standing up and walking to the exit "you coming?"
"Just give me a sec okay" Nami paid for their food and rushed to his side.
There walked for some minute in silence before arriving at the marine base. The base was big with a massive wall barricading around it. Luffy leaped to the wall and help Nami up as well. There both looked across the wall and saw a man tied to a post out in the open. The man had a green bandanna tied to his head and looked like he has seen better days with the state he was in.
Luffy looked at Nami and saw her terrified look "are you okay?"
Nami gulped slightly before she looked at Luffy "I don't know what this is but it feels like his presence is suffocating me. What do you thinks this means?" Nami asked sweating slightly
"Could she have awakened her observation haki? Wait! My devil fruit have the ability to unlock the limit of anyone I want. Could I have unlocked her haki without knowing?" Luffy thought to himself before he placed his hand on Nami shoulders and brought her closer to himself.
Nami blushed and looked at him "wha-wha-wha-what are y-y-you do-do-doing?" she cursed herself for shuttering
"Don't worry about a thing Nami. I told you that I will protect you didn't I? So don't worry so much cause I am here" Luffy said to her with conviction that surprised Nami
"That you did. Thank you Luffy for being with me" Nami smiled at him.
Luffy looked away from Nami to hide his blush that was forming on his face. He looked to where Zoro is being tied "now let's go meet our future crew mate"
With that, he along with Nami jumped down from the wall to meet Zoro. When their feet touched the ground, they looked up to see a little girl rushing to the tied up Zoro. From the looks of it, she got there by climbing up a ladder which is placed across the wall.
The little girl approached Zoro and opened up some rice ball that she rapped "I brought you some rice ball again big brother Zoro"
Zoro looked at her with anger and worry clearly on his face "get away from here now little girl. Didn't you see what there did to you yesterday when you tried to feed me?"
The little girl looked at the ground in sadness "I know but you haven't eaten anything big brother. You didn't do anything wrong"
Luffy and Nami who were conveniently hiding behind a bush there found while watching the event with a curious look
"What did she mean that he didn't do anything wrong?" Nami asked Luffy who is still looking at Zoro
Luffy turned to her "must have something to do with the captain of this place"
There both continued to observe the exchange between the little girl and Zoro
"I said go before that bastard son sees you" Zoro shouted at her
"Now now! What have we here?" a boy who was escorted by four marines as his guards said. The boy had blond onion shaped hair and he looked arrogant as he approached the girl and the bound Zoro "you again little girl. Didn't you learn your lesson yesterday after what we did to you?"
The little girl looked terrified with the appearance of the boy. She was shaking with fear and from the looks of it she was peeing her pants. Zoro seeing the expression of fear on the girls face became angry "Helmeppo she has nothing to do with this" Zoro shouted
The boy whose name is Helmeppo looked at Zoro with a sneer "I don't care what you want but rules are rules. This little girl tried to help a criminal who is in the custardy of the marines therefore her punishment is death."
Nami was shocked at what he said. She looked at Luffy to see his expression but was taken aback by the look of pure hatred he was giving to the boy and the marines. She didn't know what possessed her to place her hand on his shoulder but it seems to calm him down a little.
XXXXBack to HelmeppoXXXX
The little girl began to cry as Helmeppo ordered his guards to shoot the girl. There hesitated for sometime before there steeled their resolve and took aim at her. The little girl closed her eyes and waited for death. She could hear her big brother Zoro shouting for her to run and it made her happy that he cared for her. She heard the gun shot and she prepared herself for the pain but it didn't come. Instead she found herself in the arms of someone and the person seems to be holding her close to his chest as the gun was firing. Everybody there had a gobsmacked expression at what was happing. Zoro who was trying to free himself to come to the girl's aid saw a boy appeared from tin air and shielded the little girl with his body but what surprised him more was that the bullets were bouncing off from his body as if there were hitting steel. Helmoppo and his guards were the most surprised because try as they might, their guns had no affect on the boy who appeared from tin air.
After the guards ran out of bullet, Luffy released the little girl as she looked up at him "what's your name little girl?"
The little girl who was still frightened from almost being killed answered "R-ri-ri-ri-Ririka"
Luffy felt sorry for the girl for going through that experience. If he had been a second late then she would had been dead. He looked at the bush and motioned for Nami to come to him.
Nami who is still shocked from the cruelty of the marines saw Luffy calling her. She was still confused on how he got there so fast but that was before she remembered his devil fruit. She came out of the bush and went to him
"Nami can you take Ririka and leave this place? I will catch up with you in a sec" Luffy pushed Ririka slightly to Nami
Nami looked at the little girl who is still shaking from fear before she looked at Luffy "sure but what will you be doing?"
Luffy turned back to Helmoppo with anger "trust me when I say this but you do not want to see what I will do here"
Nami understood what he was saying and immediately took the little girl and ran out of the base. When she was outside the base, she looked at the little girl and smiled "hey stop crying alright. Everything will be alright"
Ririka looked at her still crying "what will happen to big brother Zoro?"
"Don't worry about him because my friend Luffy will save him" Nami told her. Ririka smiled after she heard that and calmed down a little. Nami still holding her asked "where do you live Ririka?"
Ririka pointed to the same restaurant that she and Luffy ate their lunch before coming to the marine base. So Nami took her to her house.
XXXXBACK WITH LUFFYXXXX
Luffy was still looking at Helmeppo with rage before he turned his attention to Zoro
"So you must be Zoro the pirate hunter I've heard about?" Luffy asked him
Zoro who was still shocked by his appearance snapped out of his shock look "Yeah that's right. You got business with me or something"
Luffy smiled at him "My name is Monkey D Luffy and I want you to join my crew"
Zoro was shocked once again by this boy. This boy who appeared from tin air and rescued that little girl from near death by taking the bullet that was meant for her with no damage whatsoever wants him to join his crew. "Wait! You are a pirate?" he had to ask him to make sure he wasn't over thinking it
"Sure am. I am a pirate but I am also the one who stands at the pinnacle of all humans. I am Luffy, the strongest man in the world" Luffy told him with such confident and pride that left everybody speechless
Zoro would have mocked him for what he said if he didn't see him take a bullet with no damage at all. "Okay! But why would you want a guy like me in your group?"
Luffy looked at him with a serious expression "because you seem like a guy who can help me to achieve my goals"
"And what will those goals of yours be?" Zoro asked him
Luffy smiled a little before he looked up to the sky "My goals are many but the summary is that I want to eradicate the world government and all who associate with them like the navy for example"
Zoro and everybody were shocked by his answer. Zoro didn't think that anybody could say this, in front of a marine base no less but here this boy who claims to be the strongest man in the world saying it like it's no big deal.
Helmeppo looked at the boy like he was crazy "who do you think you are saying that here. I will have you executed for this"
Luffy turned to him with an angered expression "who the heck are you?"
"My name is Helmeppo and I am the son of Captain Morgan" Helmeppo told him with a smug expression thinking that it will scare the boy away
"Good to know" was all he said before he turned back to Zoro ignoring the boy for now "so what do you say about joining my crew Zoro"
Zoro contemplated his options. On one hand, he could say no and the marines will kill him without question since he now know that there was no way that bastard son will keep his promise to him with him almost killing that little girl and on the other hand, he could join this boy and he could save him from this place since he seems strong enough "alright I will join but under one condition"
"Which is…?"
"My dream is to be the world strongest swords men and I don't want you getting in the way of my ambition" Zoro told him with a serious look
Luffy smiled at him "I would expect nothing less from my crew mate. Since you will be sailing with the strongest man in the world then you will have to be the strongest at what you do"
Zoro smiled back at him. Nobody has ever taken his ambition seriously but this boy, Monkey D Luffy; his new Captain believed in him "sure thing Captain"
"How dare you ignore me? Guards kill them now" Helmeppo shouted to his guards. The guards took out their sword and charged the both of them intent on cutting them to pieces.
Luffy turned to the marines who were running to him with their sword raised. He cocked back his fist and punched in their direction and the result was instantaneous. The marines who were charging him where blown to pieces by the shockwave of his punch.
Zoro along with Helmeppo had their jaw in the ground by what there just saw. He killed all of them with a single punch.
Helmeppo trembled and began to shake in fear while going back "Please don't hurt me"
Luffy ignored him and turned to Zoro "Where is your sword Zoro?"
Zoro whose jaw is still hanging snapped out of it and looked at Luffy in awe before answering "I don't know where it is because that bastard took it when he arrested me"
Luffy turned back to the trembling Helmeppo "take me to where Zoro sword is or else"
Helmeppo nodded in hurry before rushing inside the base with Luffy following him closely.

Captain Morgan was just supervising his statue that is being mounted at the marine base. All of a sudden, a tremor came from nowhere and broke his statue in two. He was furious and he lashed out his anger to the closet marine near him with his axe hand, killing him instantly. The rest of the marines were shocked but were too frightened to say or do anything about it.
"What caused that tremor just now?" Morgan asked the marines with anger
"We don't know sir but it came from outside where Roronora Zoro is being held" a marine answered him while trembling.
Morgan was so angry that he ordered his men to follow him to where Zoro is because he was going to execute him to quench his rage.

Luffy and Helmeppo reached a room and Helmeppo opened the door and stepped inside the room. Luffy followed him inside the room and saw three swords near the bed in the room.
"So! Which one is his?" Luffy asked him
Helmeppo was still trembling from being in the same room as the guy who killed his men with a single punch "all three belongs to him"
Luffy nodded and went and took the three swords before strapping them to his back and adjusted them to not mess with his back pack. He looked out the window and saw Zoro surrounded by marines and there were taking aim. He quickly grabbed the frighten Helmeppo in his collar and jumped out of the window with a speed not seen by men.

Zoro cursed his bad luck. His new captain forgot to free him and now he is going to be killed by the marines who were ordered by their Captain to execute him. He desperately hoped for a miracle because the marines were pulling the trigger of their gun. He closed his eyes and waited for death but all he heard where the gasps of the marine who were shooting him. He opened his eye only to see his Captain standing in front of him.
"Sorry about that Zoro but I am here now" Luffy told him while still facing the marines
"Well it could be worse since I could have been dead but thanks for the save Captain" Zoro smiled.
Luffy threw his swords in front of him before tearing the ropes which were holding him "can you stand Zoro?"
Zoro picked up his swords and strapped them by the side of his waist before looking at his captain "sure captain but I can't fight now since I am so hungry"
"Don't worry; I will take care of them" Luffy told him.
Captain Morgan was angry that he couldn't kill Zoro but he looked at the boy who saved Zoro and recognized him from the description of HQ
"So you are the boy who destroyed three marine ships with a single punch" Morgan asked him
Luffy was a little surprised that he knew about that but he composed himself "are you Captain Morgan then?"
"That's right fool; I am Morgan, Captain of this marine base" Morgan said to him in arrogance
"Then prepare to die by my hands" Luffy said as he started to walk closer to him.
The marines wanted to charge Luffy but Morgan stopped them "I will deal with him myself" he said before he charged Luffy while raising his axe arm with the intent to cut him.
Luffy stood there and waited for the attack without moving. Just like in Alvida's ship, the axe broke into pieces when it made contact with his head.
"NANIIIIII!" Morgan along with all the marines and Zoro had their jaw in the ground.
"It's that it?"Luffy sighed "that was the absolute best you could do?"
Morgan along with the other marines took a step back from shock. His axe broke into pieces just from hitting his head "what the hell are you?" Morgan shouted at him
"I am the one who will end all influence of the world government in the world" Luffy told him with a serious angry look.
"You want to challenge the world government by yourself?" to say that Morgan was shocked was an understatement
"Unfortunately for you and the rest of this branch, you won't be around to see me destroying the government because you all will die by my hands"
Morgan became angry "You think you can kill all of us? Guards attack him" Morgan shouted to his men. The marines drawled their sword and charged the boy
"For the sins of the evil you people have caused this town, you shall atone for it with your lives" Luffy said to the charging marines before he punched in their direction.
The force and shockwave of his punch not only killed every marine and captain Morgan but also destroyed the marine base that was in the line of his punch. Blood and destruction were everywhere after the devastating attack. The only one to survive were Zoro and Helmeppo who was besides Zoro at the time of the attack.
Luffy turned to Zoro who was silently watching him and smiled "let's go get you something to eat"
Zoro looked at the destruction and turned back to his new Captain "sure but you got some explaining to do like how you are so strong"
"Don't worry; I will tell you everything when we eat" Luffy began to leave the base or what used to be the base before his attack.
"What about him?" Zoro pointed at the still shocked Helmeppo who is just standing there with a dead look in his eyes
"Leave him be. He will be the one to tell the stories of what happened today to the marines" Luffy explained to him. Luffy and Zoro left the base or what was left of it and went into town leaving a still shock Helmeppo.

Nami knew that Luffy meant that he was going to kill everyone at the base when he asked her to leave with Ririka. She had to run away with Ririka since she had seen what he can do before and she didn't think it is what a frightened little girl who is still traumatized about almost getting killed should see.
She is at the moment in Ririka's mother restaurant when the entire island shook with a heavy vibration. People began to murmur about what could be the cause of the tremor and some where even panicking and saying that it was an earthquake but she knew who is the cause. She is quiet happy that he destroyed the base because she heard what the marines had been doing to this town from Ririka's mother. She told her how there had been leaving like slaves by the hands of the navy who preach justice but don't practice it. It literally made her blood boil and she could now understand why Luffy hates them so much. Honestly who wouldn't hate the navy after hearing that?
After sometime passed, Luffy and Zoro entered the restaurant and walked up to her table.
"Hey Nami; sorry for keeping you waiting" Luffy said to her as he sat down at the chair next to hers
"No biggie; I didn't even have to wait long with the town shaking and all" Luffy blushed while scratching his head and she sighs "So it's this Roronora Zoro?"
Luffy snapped out of it and looked at Zoro who has taken a seat at the other side of the table "Yeah Nami and he's going to be our new crew mate"
Zoro seeing them looking at him stretched out his hand to Nami "you already know me but the name is Roronora Zoro but please call me Zoro"
Nami brought out her hand to his and shook it "Nami and I am this guff ball navigator and first mate. It's nice to meet you Zoro"
"Same here but could we order cause I am very hungry and I haven't eaten anything in three weeks" Zoro asked them weakly.
Nami called Ririka to take their order and she cried and hugged Zoro when she saw him. After that, she brought their food and there began to eat. Once there were done, Zoro asked Luffy how he got so strong and he explained to him about his devil fruit powers. To say that Zoro was surprised after the explanation was an understatement. Unlike like Nami who just knew that Luffy is strong, he understood what it means to be without limit. Now his bizarre introduction back at the marine base makes absolute sense to him now. The pinnacle of all human and he is his captain. He is certainly looking forward to the reaction of the navy after they learned what happened here today.
After there where done eaten, there left the restaurant after Ririka and her mother thanked them very well. There went to the shore to get their boat after they bought their supplies for the journey. There left Shell town and where drafting in their boat to their next destination.
"So captain! Where are we going next?" Nami asked Luffy
Luffy looked at her and smiled "we are going to orange town"
Zoro woke up after he heard the name of their next destination "I heard Buggy the clown is in that town"
"Yeah he is and that is why we are going there. I have to beat all the big time pirate in the east blue to get the navy attention. I need to get their attention in other to start my main objective" Luffy told him with seriousness which surprised Zoro a bit
Nami looked at Luffy for a second before she looked back to her map "in any case; it will take us three days to get to orange town and that's hoping that the weather stays normal"
Luffy took her hand in his making her blush from the contact "I trust you Nami and I always will. We are crew mate and you are my navigator. So as a captain, I have to trust my crew mate don't I?"
Nami is once again speechless. Her heart just keeps pounding from his sweet words and she is sure that her face is very red at the moment.
They stayed like that for a while gazing into each other eyes with love but… "Is there something going on between you two that I should know about?" Zoro asked which made Nami let go of Luffy and backed away from him
"N-n-no-nothing is going o-on with us. Why would you ask that?" Nami cursed herself for shuttering in front on Zoro of all people.
"Well I wouldn't mind if something happened between us. After all, Nami is a beautiful girl and any man will be lucky to have her" Luffy said in a joking manner.
Nami wanted to die of embarrassment after what Luffy said "S-s-sh-shut up Luffy"
Zoro and Luffy laughed at her expense while there sailed to orange town
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Sometime later, some marine arrived to shell town to investigate why there could not contact the base there. The captain and his men who were sent to investigate where all shocked after they saw the destroyed base
"What happened here?" The captain asked
"It was destroyed by a single man" someone answered
He and his men looked behind to see who answered. There saw a blond boy with onion hair "who are you?" the captain asked him
"I am the late captain Morgan son and my name is Helmeppo" Helmeppo introduced himself
"Late! What do you mean 'Late', who killed him and who destroyed this base?" The captain asked him with a raised voice
"He is a pirate that wears a straw hat and goes by the name of Monkey D Luffy and he claims to be the strongest man in the world" Helmeppo told them
"Wait! Did you say Monkey D Luffy?" the captain asked him in a shocked voice
"Yes and he said that he will be the one to destroy the world government. I didn't believe him at first but after he destroyed this base and killed everyone in it with one punch, well you can guess" Helmeppo told them with anger
The captain was lost on what to do in this situation. The pirate this boy was talking about is in fact vice admiral Gap's grandson who has been missing for years now. And it seems he is also the one that HQ was talking about since he destroyed this base with one blow and he wants to destroy the navy it seems. Honestly this is way over his boundaries and he will need to file a report to HQ about this incident "thank you boy for the information and I am sorry for your lost."
"I don't want pity but I do have a favor to ask" Helmeppo told him
"And what is this favor of yours"
Helmeppo looked at the captain with a determined look in his eyes "I would like to join the navy"
The captain was surprised by the request "and why do you want to join?" he was a little curious of this boy's reason
"Because I want to be the one to beat Monkey D Luffy for what he did" Helmeppo said with conviction
The captain looked at him for a few minute before he smiled "I like that looked in your eyes boy. Welcome to the navy. My name is Captain Frost but to you, I am just captain. Do you understand me?"
"Yes sir" Helmeppo saluted.
"Good! Men; let's move out" He along with his men lest the base and went back to their ship.
It would seem that Luffy has gotten the navy attention. What will happen next on their little adventure? Find out next time.
