Well, this is a development. What the hell is happening? Is this like some type of Dark Danny scenario? Why is my ghost form separate from me? And why the hell is his eyes purple?! It's supposed to be green right? No, I'm sure it is. Not to mention, the DP isn't supposed to be on his chest, it wasn't on me when I got turned.
"Eh, less of a Dark Dan thing and more of a Bleach Zanpakuto thing. Or maybe a Dark Naruto. I'm not actually a different entity. No, we are the same you and I, two people yet one being. As for the DP logo?" Phantom shrugs with a carefree expression. "I don't actually know. If I were to guess, it's because my form is actually made of ectoplasm, and what you wore when you entered the machine doesn't matter."
"I see, maybe Danny's ghost form outfit just took the last thing he wore when becoming a halfa, but he wasn't really stuck with that costume. He just never thought to change it or imagine it differently when transforming. The suit does just come from nowhere, it's not like it's hiding in any sort of inventory."
"I've been waiting, ever since you came to this new world and 'You' became 'We'. Whatever this place is, it's affected my form. I'm different from the original, as you can see from the eyes. If I tried to appear in front of you like this before your soul became acclimated? Well I actually don't know what would have happened. Probably something fun, but too self damaging." Phantom says with an impossibly large smile at the end. Yet soon after, it was gone, like it never happened.
"That's why I couldn't transform no matter how hard I tried. I thought I was doing something wrong, but all along, you just locked yourself up from me. Honestly, now that I think about it, I'm not even surprised. There are too many things that are different, why not one more. So, what now Ghost Me?"
"Now?" he says, and his eyes glow a malicious purple that seem to gleam. That smile returns, taking a closer look, I see that instead of normal teeth, for some reason his are sharpened. Phantom holds his stomach as he begins to laugh and chuckle. "I come home. To protect your feeble soul I had to give you some space, otherwise that possible fun yet bad thing could happen. But now, finally, you're ready. To become fully one again!"
"Okay, and what's the catch? Something isn't right here, with you specifically. You're too manic. Too wild. What happened to you that caused this change?" I ask with suspicion and narrowed eyes. What is he hiding? My rage for having an intruder forgotten now that I know that it's just technically me, allowing me to think clearly and ask the right questions.
"Me? Hide anything? Don't play dumb!" The Phantom yells in rage. The Void ripples around him. "Sure, if you need hints that badly I'll give you one. Did you just think after spending so much time in the Void, that you would be able to go back to normal society so casually? That you were able to acclimate back to a semi-normal world so easily? No you fool! You lost your mind here, we both know I speak the truth."
"And so to claim my full powers, I have to reclaim what was lost. But once something is lost in a place like this, it is forever changed." I say with closed eyes, taking a deep breath in acceptance. "By the way, stop reading my mind, it's annoying. We may be one or whatever, but only respond to things I actually say."
"Sure sure! But now that we've gotten the foolishness out of the way-" The Phantom reaches out his hand, and my body mirrors his own. Blue eyes meet purple, and a frown of thought stands in front of a chaotic smile. "Let's do what you came here for! It's been too long, this feeling of imperfection."
Just before our fingertips touch, we both stop. Is this right? This guy seems unstable, but I don't think he's lying. How could anyone in their right mind survive this Darkness? No, no one could, not unless that were never sane or lost their sanity. Before I called this place mine, before I adapted, I wasn't okay. And yet, one 'day' like any other, something just clicked, and the cell became a home.
I shake my head. Does it matter? Truly? Even if the drawbacks are a bit extreme, could I afford to give up this chance? To give up this power? To stay a weakling forever, only able to fight back against the supernatural with gadgets and luck? No. No, I don't think it matters at all. Drawbacks or no, I need this power.
Without any further hesitation, our fingertips connect, and my body jolts. The Phantom is intangible, and my hand goes into his. It's hard to explain, but almost feels like I've been missing something that I've never known I lost. Like, before this moment I was incomplete and yet didn't notice until now. At first it's just a hand, but then we both step forward, and it's an arm. Then a shoulder, chest, legs, and finally when there's only one body yet two heads, our eyes meet once more. And unlike before, both grins mirror each other. And one laugh turns into two. Two laughs turn into cackles.
It's with a quick headbutt that the absorption is complete. The next thing I know, I'm no longer in the Void. It's still dark, yet the black seems less. Refusing to go through this again, I slowly open my eyes, and then widen them soon after.
Looking down, I see my bed several feet below me. And then I feel it, the power, the strength. My body moves through the air with suck fucking ease! Yes, this is how it's always should have been! My body is overflowing with unstoppable energy! I could take over the world like this, and no one could do jack shit! I casually float to my mirror and my smile is a sight to behold.
