Life can be unexpected and from the beginning of my life I have always been told that the owner of the words written on my wrist is going to be the one person in the whole world that I can truly trust. If only that were true.
It was very hot when I woke up, which wasn't unusual since I knew what the cause of my discomfort was. No it's not because it is the middle of the summer in Tokyo Japan, it's because currently I am being crushed under my long time girlfriend ,Ochako Uraraka.
I always wake up earlier than her and every morning I wake up being crushed by her unconscious form. I bury my nose into her messed up head of brunet locks and just bask in the smell of her. Her smell reminds me of spring.
Even though I don't want to disturb her slumber I gently shake her shoulders to wake her up. It takes some time before she starts to stir awake.
"Izuuuuu why did you have to wake me" she says with a sleep filled voice.
"You know that we have work and as much as I love laying in bed with you all day, I need to open up my shop and you need to go save lives." I say with a smirk.
I could see a hint of mischief in her eyes as she starts holding on to me tighter and buries her face into the crook of my neck.
"Hiding isn't going to help" my arms are trying to push her off of me but it is all in vain. "You have that very important case that you are working on remember and if you arrive late there is a high chance that they might give it to someone else."
My last sentence catches her attention as she slowly gets up and out of bed. Lately Ochako has been working on the case of a villain that has been terrorizing the city for some time now. The villain goes by the name of Ground Zero, no one has ever seen his face or seen him at all, he attacks at night and at complete random. Sometimes he is robing some small time shop or going on a murder spree and always he leaves his mark of blowing something up with his quirk.
When Ground Zero first appeared we all thought he was just some small rookie villain that just wanted to get some extra cash by robbing a few stores, but his endeavors slowly got worse, by going into big time museums and killing everyone inside and only stealing one thing. He made sure to never leave any witnesses.
This has been going on for around 2 years and the case was given to Ochako and a few other top heroes, cases are given to her and a few of the other top heroes when it has gotten out of hand, since she is the number eight top hero, which is impressive since she is only 21. There has been an order given out to all of Tokyo for a 7:00 curfew since Ground Zero only attacks at night and we don't want take any chances with someone getting in the cross fires of one of his escapades.
When me and Ockako are done getting ready we rush outside to make are way to are jobs she works as a pro hero and I am a lowly little book shop owner.
We go our own separate ways since we pass by her agency first, since were in a hurry she rushed and gives me a peck on the cheek and disappears into the building. I am so envious of her, when I was young all I ever wanted to be was a hero. I didn't even let me being quirkless hold me back but there was a boy in my class that would bully me endlessly , he crushed my dreams.
I still tried the ua hero entrance exam, where I meet Ochako, I failed, but I still went into the ua general studies. It was great I got to see Ochako everyday, this lead to us eventually dating.
I arrive two minutes after dropping off Ochako, I look up at a small book shop aka my pride and joy. I walk in flipping the closed sign to open and start shelving some new books that just arrived, I glance down at the word "hey extra" written on my wrist from the words of the person that I hope I never meet. Even though me and Ochako are not soul mates we still want to be together and make it work between us even when we meet are soul mates we want to stay together no matter what.
I love her so much that I fully believe that it won't even matter who these words belong too.
The sound of the door wakes me from my thoughts as I rush to the counter, ready for the customer. I glance at the customer browsing the shelves, I've never seen him here before, which is a good sign since I have the same people everyday. I love having new people find my shop and this one is young, I normally have old people at my shop.
He has blond spiky hair and a scowl adorns his face, he could be a model if he would maybe just smile a little. He's surprisingly looking through the romance section, maybe for a girlfriend? With no warning he just stands up and starts to walk out, he looks up for a moment locking eyes with me for a second, wow those are the most beautiful red eyes I have ever seen. Then he's gone without a word. I hope he comes back soon.
The day ends with the same customers as always, I have to close at 6:30 these days with the curfew being 7:00 so I have time to make it home in time. I meet with Ochako as I pass her agency, she looks sad. Which is odd since she has always had a very bubbly personality as long as I've known her. She locks her arm with mine as we walk home in silence.
As I get out my keys to unlock the door to our apartment out of know where she suddenly tells me the most heart shattering words I've ever heard.
"I'm cheating on you"
