I sat the book that I had been trying to read on the coffee table. I've been extremely distracted lately, I had this strange impression that something was going to transpire. I watched as Renesmee played the piano with her father. I turned my head when I heard a book slam shut.

"What is it, Alice?" Jasper asked.

"The Volturi found out about Azure," Alice explained with distress written on her face.

The Cullen's had found me abandoned on their front doorstep as a baby and agreed on taking me in. I had learned about the Volturi and how they thought that Renesmee was an immortal child because of an untrue allegation.

"When are they coming here?" I asked, attempting to hide my concern.

"Tonight," Alice spoke.

The atmosphere became uneasy all of a sudden. I bit my lip and stood up. My family began having a conversation with each other about what to do when the Volturi arrive.

"Hey, " I spoke getting their attention. "If I have to go with the Volturi just to keep you all alive then I will."

"There has to be another way." Bella murmured.

"I made my choice. I will do anything to keep you all safe." I uttered and sat back down on the couch and went back to reading my book.

Before I knew it, the Volturi had arrived. My father, Carlisle opened the front door and let them in.

"Welcome." Esme greeted.

"You must be the human the Cullens have taken in." The raven-haired man said, "I am Aro."

Aro held his hand out and I looked over at Carlisle who nodded. I reluctantly gave Aro my hand.

"Interesting." Aro muttered and let go of my hand.

I let out a breath that I didn't realize I was holding. I looked over at the blond vampire,

'That must be Caius.' I thought. I heard a whole lot about him. He was sadistic and despised humans. He noticed that I was looking at him and scowled at me. I quickly lowered my gaze and gazed at the ground as if it were the most intriguing thing in the room.

Caius was extraordinarily pleasant to look at. The sound of Aro laughing startled me out of my thoughts and I looked away from the floor.

"It seems that dear Azure is the mate of Caius," Aro said with a smile.

"What?" Caius and I said in unison and then glared at each other.

"I don't want him as my mate," I spoke, glaring at Caius. My heart ached as a flash of hurt appeared on his face but I ignored it.

"Demetri, can you help Azure pack the stuff she wants to take to Volterra," Aro spoke.

"Yes, Master Aro." The Volturi's tracker said and motioned for me to lead him to my room.

The walk to my room was so quiet that it rendered me uneasy. I opened the door to my room and gestured for the Volturi guard to come into my room. I grabbed a suitcase and picked the clothing that I wished to take with me and put them inside the suitcase. Once I was finished I zipped the suitcase shut and Demetri grabbed it and departed my room.

I took one last glance at my room. The walls were painted a teal color, the posters of my favorite bands hung up on my wall. A small bookshelf sat in the corner of my room. My bed was neatly made. I silently closed the door to my room behind me and strolled downstairs to the living room.

The Volturi were waiting patiently for me. I took a deep breath and said my goodbyes to my family. Renesmee gave me the locket that her mother gave her years ago and told me to keep it. I smiled and hugged her.

"It's time to go." Aro said.

I nodded, "okay." I whispered and followed the Volturi out the door.

Demetri ushered me to one of their vehicles and opened the door for me. I slid into the seat and shut my eyes.

I woke up inside an unfamiliar room. The walls were made of stone. I looked over to my right and a woman sat on a chair reading a book. She closed it as soon as she noticed that I was awake.

"Welcome to Volterra, " The woman said with a grin. "I'm Didyme. It's so nice to meet you."

Didyme had long jet black hair, a heart-shaped face, and a Grecian nose. Her irises were a milky red color. She reminded me of Aro, but a lot less creepy.

"I'm Azure Cullen," I mumbled.

"I know my brother, Aro told me all about you," Didyme said, still smiling.

'She's Aro's brother. Why am I even surprised by that? The two look alike.' I thought.

"You are really pretty." I whispered and Didyme let out a giggle.

"I'm so glad that we have a new sister." another woman said.

I turned around to see another woman. She wore a long black dress, her hair was a dark brown color that was currently in a French braid, she had almond-shaped eyes and a button nose. She was just as beautiful as Didyme.

"I'm Sulpicia, Aro's wife." The woman said.

"We better get our new sister some food. She's human and they require more sustenance." Didyme said.

"I'll be right back," Sulpicia spoke and sped out of the room.

Aro's wife came back a few minutes later with a plate of spaghetti. She handed me the plate along with a fork and bottled water. I ate the food as the two vampires watched me with curiosity.

"Thanks for the food." I said when I was finished eating.

"You're welcome." Sulpicia said.

"Now onto more important business," Didyme said after setting the plate and half drunk bottled water onto the table next to me, "We need to get to know our new sister better."
