Décalcomanie

You and I, same picture, I feel good
An orange picture, I feel good
This is a little dangerous dangerous dangerous
But I can't stop
I feel good

Draco doesn't know how, but somehow, against all odds, he's best friends with the Weasel. Who would've thought? Certainly, not Hermione and Harry who seem a little put out by this little dynamic and a little left out whenever Draco and Ron launch into an all-out conversation about Quidditch and other wizarding world stuff that Hermione and Harry would not have known about, growing up in the muggle world. Of course, whenever questioned about their newfound friendship, both Draco and Ron get quite defensive about it and argue that they're supposed to pretend to be cousins, so of course, they're super friendly!

And indeed, Draco has played his role pretty well, so well in fact that many of the Order members who never met him before and the Weasley relatives invited to the wedding actually believe the fictional cover story. It also helps that Molly simply adores him, making desserts upon desserts for him.

"You're going to get fat, cousin," Tonks snickers as Draco takes a bite out of his fourth slice of apple pie.

"I'm being a good guest," Draco retorts, trying to fight back the blush reddening his ears. Under a disguise, he brushes his red bangs out of his green eyes.

"Nonsense," Molly says, scooping more pie filling onto the polyjuiced redhead's plate. "You're like family, Draco."

"Mum, why do you keep giving him all the desserts!?" George complains, watching as the last slice becomes the last half slice. "You treat him nicer than your own kids!"

Not minding the conversation anymore, Draco's eyes drift to the dance floor he admits that the Weasley have outdone themselves with the wedding for the quarter-Veela and one of the older Weasels and his eyes land on his new best friend and the girl who saved his life. She's wearing a long gloves to hide the Sectumsempra scars on her left arm, and Draco can't help but feel guilty.

"Don't worry."

Draco blinks. Did Potter actually initiate a conversation with him? Unlike Ron, Harry had yet to see pass their childhood rivalry and misgivings. Draco being Harry's new Occlumency teacher didn't help things either — Harry never liked anyone poking around in his memories, let alone someone he still considers responsible for Dumbledore's death. It also doesn't help that Harry thought Draco has stolen his best friend away.

"Jealousy is unsightly," Harry says, not even looking at Draco. "They're just friends."

"Pfft, I'm not jealous." Draco crosses his arms.

"Whatever you say, Malfoy."

"What's got your panties in a knot, O Mighty Chosen One? Usually, you're only like this after an Occlumency lesson."

Potter doesn't deign the question an answer.

"I probably should increase your lessons, though. You've improved, but honestly, it's not by much." Old habits die hard — Draco still feels the need to get a jab in every now and then.

When Potter continues to ignore him, Draco sighs and stands from his seat. He promised Hermione a dance.

"Thanks, Draco."

Draco stares at Harry incredulously. "For what?"

"For what you've done," Harry explains, finally meeting Draco's gaze. He breathes sharply before continuing. "Helping the Order by identifying the new curses, helping Madam Promfrey out in the infirmary, and me with the Occlumency lessons —"

"I didn't do it for you," Draco sneers. "Don't mention it."

Draco catches Hermione's gaze, and she smiles at him. She beckons him over, but before he can take a step towards her, a bright light enters the wedding tent and everything seems to pause.

"The Ministry has fallen. Scrimgeour is dead. They are coming."

Draco shoots the first spell at a Death Eater who Apparates right behind Harry.
