Hello, hello! Welcome to my first ever fic!

There's not much I can say. I'm only writing this out of boredom and more of a way to ignite my old flame to write. While I do have a general plot outlined, I just mainly write and improvise on the spot. I have no idea why but the style usually works for me rather than planning it out.

Anyways, again do not expect for me to pump out chapters consistently. I only write these when I want to. Begging me for updates isn't going to get me to write faster.

For now, let's see where this heads.

Disclaimer: The following is a fan-based work. I do not own RWBY. All creative rights belong to Rooster Teeth and Monty Oum. I also do not own Kamen Rider. All creative rights go to Shotaro Ishinomori. All rights go to their respective creators. In other words, I do not own anything in this story except the OCs. The cover art also do not belong to me. It belongs to Enseki. Please support them. If enough people wish for me to take it down then I will.

"I'm sorry. But you have no future as a Huntsman."

Those very words brought on a new set of tears.

A small boy laid there on the grass, bruises clearly shown across his arms and face. Shards of wood were scattered across the ground as the boy gripped the broken hilt of the training sword. Like any boy his age trying to save face, he looked away from the source of his pain by gazing at the ground.

"You should give up now." The voice was stoic, emotionless. It would've been better if it was disappointed rather than the calm tone. At least then, he could believe that his family wanted to support his dreams.

But something still stirred inside him. Maybe it was the last remnants of his pride? Or perhaps he was just that determined to prove him wrong? That he canbe worthy of being part of this lineage. This family!

"I–I'm not giving up!"

Getting up, he attempted to stand tall and brave. The boy grabbed the broken hilt and held it clumsily in front of him. The boy ignored the pain and aching from his face and limbs and continued to stare defiantly at his opponent.

"Adversity in the face of overwhelming odds is only favored by civilians that have not faced combat. Give up."

The boy shook his head despite the words.

"Then you are a fool. A determined one."

Then his opponent lunged at him. Every part of the man's movements were a blur for the untrained boy. He felt two strikes across his body, each one sending a sharp flare of pain across his arms. The force behind the attacks will most likely leave bruises once this was all over. The final one struck against his wrist, causing the boy to drop the useless hilt. He cried out and fell onto the ground, holding his (thankfully) not-broken wrist.

"But a fool nonetheless."

The boy finally decided to look back up. Only to be met with hardened blue eyes. While at first, they didn't show any emotions, the boy swore he saw something underneath the stoicism.

Reluctance.

The boy's father sighed and made his way towards his fallen son. It comforted the boy in a way to know that his dad still cared.

"Jaune."

Jaune gave a couple of sniffles as he looked at his dad. He felt a hand on his shoulder as his father tried to comfort him. Despite everything, Nicholas Arc was still a father first.

"You can still be a hero..."

"Almost there...!

A crowd surrounded him as they looked on concerned at the man in a white doctor's coat. Focusing on the task at hand, his eyes were determined to finish this. The man continued to fight no matter the odds. A hero can do no less after all.

"You can make it!"

He shouted at the small...console? The protagonist on the digital screen jumped and avoided several exaggerated tremors when the boss stomped on the ground. Seeing an opportunity, the man pressed down on the button and the pink rotund character swung down with a rubber hammer. The attack landed and the large health bar of the boss lowered.

It was an amusing sight. A doctor seemingly shirking his duties to play video games is an oddity but nothing too strange. The presence of surrounding children encouraged the doctor to finish and complete the level.

"There!"

Another telegraphed attack as the boss swung down its own weapon: its arm. Already reacting, the doctor moved his character to the far side of the screen. Seeing the opportunity again, he moved his character across the club and jumped up once again. Pressing on the same button, the hammer struck again and lowered the health bar to nothing.

A celebratory tune played out as two words appeared on the screen.

Game Clear!

"Yes!"

The doctor pumped his fists as the crowd smiled and let out awes and wows. Another day saved and another level cleared. All possible due to Mighty –

"DOCTOR ARC!"

And there it was. Jaune Arc sighed as he quickly righted his stethoscope and pocketed his console, seeing a familiar face approaching him. Her expression one of irritation as if she had seen this happen so many times. Well she wasn't wrong to act like this.

Celeste Silver. A Mistralian woman with a no-nonsense exterior. Her soft features matched her stone-cold personality. Narrowed brown eyes stared dagger into him and a frown settled across her face as she crossed her arms. Long silky black hair cascaded just past her shoulders. Despite the stress of her job, it looked well-kept and smooth. Celeste wore a white doctor's coat similar to the ones Jaune was wearing. In fact, their badges showed the name of where they were working: Valean University Hospital.

A beautiful woman whose personality only complimented her beauty.

"Look Cele–"

"I believe I recall a conversation about you promising to arrive on time?" Celeste said, already beating him to the punch.

Yikes. She was not happy if the shouting of his name didn't already give that away. Jaune rubbed the back of his head, a bit embarrassed to be confronted out in public like this. He knew that it was useless to try and explain his actions but he still tried.

"I know I got distracted. But there was this boy alone and–" Jaune tried to explain again, having the decency this time to look calm for once.

"I also recall that today you have a patient waiting for you today."

Yet again, Jaune was cut off. Yep, Celeste was not having it. He understood her point of view, however. It reflected badly on the hospital and on himself if he were to continue arriving late. Not only would the patient's life be in danger if it is life-threatening, but it also calls into question the hospital's credibility and reliability if not even one of their doctors can arrive on time.

"I know. But...he seemed lonely."

This time, he gestured to a particular boy next to him. While appearance-wise there was nothing wrong with the boy, Celeste's expression softened albeit softly. Out of everyone in the hospital, she was the one who knew him best.

"I see..."

Jaune shook his head slightly at her change-in-attitude. Despite her cold act, Celeste can be surprisingly soft. But she was right. He already wasted enough time. Getting off the bench, he nodded towards his fellow doctor.

"I will see to the patient now, Celeste."

With that, Jaune heads off in the direction of his hospital. There wasn't anything else he can do here other than a quick bow.

"Wait!"

Or is there?

Jaune turned around, looking for the source of the voice. Taking a second, he realized it was the same boy that he gestured to. Wonder what did he want?

"...what's your name, sir?" The boy hesitantly spoke, wanting to know the identity of the man who accompanied him.

Such a simple request. So Jaune smiled and answered simply as well.

"The name's Jaune Arc. Short, sweet. Ladies love it."

Out of the corner of his eye, he could see Celeste silently sighing and massaging the temple of her head at his introduction. He pretended not to see that.

"I'm just your friendly local doctor."

Turning back around, the blonde-haired doctor strode off again. While on the outside, Jaune's expression was calm and unmoving...

'Nailed it!'

Imagining himself patting his back for what he thought a cool introduction, Jaune put his hands into the pockets of his coat. Call him dramatic but he enjoyed being that enigmatic doctor. Jaune thought the role fit him.

"Thank you!"

To that, he simply gave a two-fingered salute and exited the park with Celeste in tow. Briefly, as the pair continued to walk in silence, Jaune's mind wandered to a distant memory. He couldn't quite remember the specifics but he didn't need to. Just a phrase was enough to keep him going.

I want to be a hero.

A dream lauded by so many children. A childish ideal that should've been snuffed out a long time ago. Yet, it persisted as Jaune grew into a respectable doctor.

But why...

...why indeed.

'Just not as a Huntsman.'

Why indeed.

Genm Corporation.

A rather recent company that had formed over two years ago. It mainly started out as a video game company, creating both stellar and classic works. The company paid homage to the retro-style of old while also embracing the new modern graphics.

At first, the company started out in Vale and began the development of its first game: Mighty Action C. It was a massive hit and drew in thousands of fans. The simplistic and often cartoonish game design exuded a childish charm that couldn't be easily replicated. As the years went on, it released hit after hit.

Eventually, it managed to match many Dust companies in terms of profit. While the company did ship its products all over Remnant, there were very few buildings of the company present in the other Kingdoms.

All in all, Genm Corp. was a beloved company but a normal one nonetheless.

That all changed during one incident.

The incident sent waves all across the Kingdoms due to its suddenness and unknown origins. A quarter of Remnant's population was affected.

It was called–

A white cup was gently set down on the black table. Yep smell of tea permeated the air as a figure sat himself down on the swivel chair.

Combed black hair with purple tips, a man in an immaculate suit leaned back in the comfortable chair. Purple-colored orbs danced as the man set down a large briefcase on the ground. Pinned on his shirt was one rotund beloved character of the game Might Action C.

Onyx Ray. The CEO of Genm Corporation, arguably the youngest one in Vale. Many described him as a polite and humble man. But Onyx saw himself as more of a focused and driven individual. Still, he didn't deny people's opinions of him and took it all in stride.

Now if only that call could come.

Ring! Ring!

And there it was.

Smiling to himself, Onyx calmly pressed the accept button on the office phone. The speaker crackled to life as the familiar voice of his secretary spoke through it.

"Sir? It's General Ironwood. He's requesting to speak with you."

So soon? Well, he expected such a thing. The general was not one to delay after all. But still, couldn't he have done it after Onyx finished his tea? He had just sat down for Oum's sake!

"Of course. Send him through." Onyx nodded to himself and prepared himself. He sat upright and placed his hands on the desk in order to appear professional.

In front of him, a part of the table opened to reveal the inner projector on the inside. Scrolls were easily compromised. A private connection inside the company was a bit more secure as long as anyone did not try and invade the building. And what fool would try to rob a video game company of all things?

Shoving his idle thoughts aside, a holographic screen appeared in front of Onyx, and the face of General Ironwood appeared on the screen. The sides of his hair were white from age but there was no denying the sharpness of his eyes, aged as he may be. They were narrowed, of course, showing that he was not joking around nor was this going to be a casual conversation.

"General Ironwood. It is a pleasure to see you as always. How are you, today?"

"The pleasure is mine, Onyx.I am well."

While these were casual words, Onyx knew that Ironwood wasn't calling just for a chat. He knew better than that. Both of them knew.

"I assume this is about the project?" It was a statement rather than a question. The CEO didn't sugarcoat his words and cut straight to the point.

"Yes. Is it ready?"

"There are others and they will be sent to you shortly. This is the first one completed. Might I ask about the potential candidates?"

"We already have a few people in mind. A mix of official Huntsmen and Huntresses and select few students." Ironwood nodded at the question, showing his certainty. Onyx didn't doubt the man's intuition and so didn't inquire further on the subject.

"I see. Regardless this could not have happened without your help, General."

"No thanks are needed. Not just Atlas will benefit from this. This will help Remnant as a whole."

Thanks to both Genm Corp. and the Atlas Military, their combined efforts could potentially revolutionize the field of medicine. Not to mention the benefits it could have when applied to actual combat. Once, they perfected it, it is only a matter of time before the careers of huntsmen and huntresses are impacted.

"Of course. I only did this to save lives after all. Please send Pierto and his daughter my regards."

"I will be sure to pass that along. Thank you for your time, Onyx."

And with that, the call ended. The projector shut down as the panel in his table closed. Adjusting his tie, Onyx and pressed another button on the phone to call his secretary.

"Amanda, what is my schedule for today?" If it is anything like yesterday then his day was bound to be lucrative as always. Not that he would willingly complain of course. He loved his work.

"Let's see...you have a board meeting later this evening but you do have the launch party of the upcoming game."

The last mention brought another smile to his face. Onyx recalled the announcement of his first game's sequel. Joy filled his heart that people still enjoyed his games even after all these years. An excited gleam spread across his expression.

"I supposed I will have to be there won't I?"

Cutting off the connection, Onyx hummed a small song and picked up the briefcase laying on the ground. He walked towards the door to his office and opened it, giving a quick glance back before walking away.

Why did he decide to start the project all those years ago?

To help everyone I can see.

An idealistic goal. One that might not even become reality. What can one CEO do after all? But he couldn't help but try. It was something ingrained in him after all.

But why...?

...Why indeed.

Outside a limo was waiting for him. Onyx quickly gave his thanks to the driver as he entered the passenger seat.

Why indeed...

Hopefully, this piques your interest as much as it has for me. I don't have much experience on fanfics so this is a first for me.

I don't really expect much attention at first (considering I am an unknown author) but I wanted to at least get my ideas out there first.

We have two 'hero-like' figures. I wonder who is who?

Anyways, read and review!
